PHP - Can I Hide My Address Using Mail Function?
Hi, I've put together a callback request form that emails my client when someone fills it out.
the form is as follows Code: [Select] <form method="post" action="php/callbackform.php"> Name: <input name="name" type="text" /><br /> Phone number: <input name="phone" type="text" /><br /> no: <input type="checkbox" name="no" value="This customer does not want their information to be used for marketing purposes" /><br /> <input type="submit" /> </form> it posts to this code Code: [Select] <?php $name = $_REQUEST['name'] ; $phone = $_REQUEST['phone'] ; $optout = $_REQUEST['no'] ; $message = $phone . " " . $optout; mail( "client@example.com", "Call back form request", $message, "From: $name" ); header( "Location: http://www.example.com/index.php" ); ?> The problem is that when the email is received, the email 'from' field shows my servers default email address. So if someone called bob filled out the form the resulting email would show as; From: bob<default@myserver.com> My client doesn't want to add an email box to use as the from address so is there anyway i can hide my address being included in the email header? thanks Richard Similar TutorialsI'm using this php code and would like to know if there is a way to hide the email? Code: [Select] echo "Email: <span style='color:#00F'><a href='mailto:".$result['email']."?subject=".$result['title']."'>".$result['email']."</span></a>"; Hey all, having a very odd problem Ive never encountered. I am trying to send mails via PHP's built in mail function. I set the From and Reply-To like so: Code: [Select] <?php $headers = "From: noreply@contractortraining.energy.gov\r\n"; $headers .= "Reply-To: noreply@contractortraining.energy.gov\r\n"; Now here is when things get weird. When this email sends the return email gets changed to noreply@doe.golearnportal.org. Oddly enough it only happens when the From is "contractortraining.energy.gov". For example: If I send with these headers the email comes in as doe.golearnportal.org However if I change the headers to be something like "sometest.org" or "nowhere.golearnportal.org" or anything other than "contractortraining.energy.gov" it will come through using the specified headers. It is only when I use "contractortraining.energy.gov" that the headers get changed. Any ideas what could be responsible for this type of behavior? I dont think its a PHP issue at the moment, and this code is working successfully on several other servers. I need to know where to put an e-mail validation code in my form so it can check to see if valid e-mail I have tr5ied to place it but nothing seems to work I have attached the form code could some let me know where the validation code would go thanks jim here is the validation code function check_email_address($email) { // First, we check that there's one @ symbol, and that the lengths are right if (!ereg("^[^@]{1,64}@[^@]{1,255}$", $email)) { // Email invalid because wrong number of characters in one section, or wrong number of @ symbols. return false; } // Split it into sections to make life easier $email_array = explode("@", $email); $local_array = explode(".", $email_array[0]); for ($i = 0; $i < sizeof($local_array); $i++) { if (!ereg("^(([A-Za-z0-9!#$%&'*+/=?^_`{|}~-][A-Za-z0-9!#$%&'*+/=?^_`{|}~\.-]{0,63})|(\"[^(\\|\")]{0,62}\"))$", $local_array[$i])) { return false; } } if (!ereg("^\[?[0-9\.]+\]?$", $email_array[1])) { // Check if domain is IP. 2) If SKU starts with 3, email should go to the mail id xyz@gmail.com,
3) If SKU starts with 4, email should go to the mail id qwe@gmail.com,
FYI - If an order contains 10 items email should go separately based on SKU. But an order id the same must include all the emails.
Hello there, I've come across a issue with using PHP's mail function due to the fact I've tried a assortment of different headers yet Hotmail continues to place my sent emails in the junk folder. Here is my method of emailing my clients: function Email($AccountID, $Subject, $Message) { if($this->IsValidAccount($AccountID)) { $Account = $this->AccountKeys($AccountID); $headers .= 'To: '.$Account['account_client'].' <'.$Account['account_email'].'>' . "\r\n"; $headers .= "From: X-Host <no-reply@X-Host.co.uk>\r\n"; $headers .= "Reply-To: X-Host <no-reply@X-Host.co.uk>\r\n"; $headers .= "Return-Path: no-reply@X-Host.co.uk\r\n"; $headers .= "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n"; $headers .= "Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1\r\n"; $headers .= "Organization: X-Host\r\n"; echo $Account['account_email']. $Subject. $Message; return mail($Account['account_email'], $Subject, $Message, $headers); } else return InvalidAccount; } So could anybody help me out please and tell me what headers I should be using. Hi all, I'm coding an automated mailer for a dentist office. They set appointment dates through a web interface, and then this appointment is mailed to the customer via PHP's mail() function. However, some users are not receving the mail. They claim that it is not even in the junk mail folder. Is it because I'm setting or not setting certain properties in the header? Should I be setting something else? Here is my code Code: [Select] ini_set("SMTP", "mail.isp-provider.net"); $headers = 'From: Schedule Manager <schedule@address.com>' . "\r\n" . 'Reply-To: Schedule Manager <schedule@address.com>' . "\r\n" . 'Bcc: internal@address.com' . "\r\n" . 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n" . 'X-Mailer: PHP/' . phpversion(); mail($customerAddress, $subject, $body, $headers); Note that customerAddress, subject, and body are all just regular normal strings. As I said, it works for most customers, but some customers do not receive the emails. I was able to get the Billing Address part to work but the payment method is just not writing to the mail. Can someone please help me fix this?
