PHP - How To Create A Text File While Runnning Php Program From Browser?
Hello Friends...
I am creating a HTML webpage and connecting with MYSQL. If the client will check the conditions, it will pass it to PHP and get values from MYSQL and print it in the webpage as a HTML table format. Now i want to create a SAVE button and save the HTML TAble values as TXT tab demilited file. I tried of creating a TXT file by using fopen() and write the values by using fwrite() function. But it is working only in the putty. While running the program from the browser, its not working. Will somebody help me to solve this prob? I also was searched for creating a TXT file from HTML table. But i wouldnt get any codes reg this.... Thanks Rose Similar TutorialsI got an idea with my homepage in progress. It's a blog and I want to sort my post in a navigation bar. Is it possible to do a script with $date function to create a new file the 1th of every month. Then use file_get_content on the current month.
To clarify in this stage I haven't started connecting my database.
Edited by DexterTheCat, 05 June 2014 - 11:16 AM. I have a PHP script that does some work copying some files and parsing through the files. Then it creates an Excel file and sends it to the browser to download. So you user will see the standard popup asking to save or open the file. Well, I am using ob_flush to try and output text to the browser while it is working so the user knows something is happening. But whenever I add the ob_flush lines in, it just sends a bunch of garbage text to the browser instead of downloading the file. Anyone know a way around this? Thanks Mike Hey, I am pretty new to php. I am creating a simple website to handle a http get I need to do for a Android Application. I can write to a file but I am unable to open it in a browser. It just shows a blank page. When I download it from my browser (Firefox) to my hard drive (Windows 7) using my ftp I can view the .txt file. All i want to do is write to a text file. Any help would be nice. Sorry for sparse information. I am hosting it on 000webhost.com. Thanks My Code: 3 files blank "data.txt", index.html, process.php Index.html Code: [Select] <html><body> <h4>Tizag Art Supply Order Form</h4> <form action="process.php" method="post"> <select name="item"> <option>Paint</option> <option>Brushes</option> <option>Erasers</option> </select> Quantity: <input name="quantity" type="text" /> <input type="submit" /> </form> </body></html> process.php <html><body> <?php $quantity = $_POST['quantity']; $item = $_POST['item']; $myFile = "data.txt"; $fh = fopen($myFile, 'at') or die("can't open file"); $stringData = "Bobby Bopper"; fwrite($fh, $stringData); $stringData = "Tracy Tanner"; fwrite($fh, $stringData); fclose($fh); echo "You ordered ". $quantity . " " . $item . ".<br />"; echo "Thank you for ordering from Tizag Art Supplies!"; ?> </body></html> I have a Php application that already has 2 buttons with input on the index page that perform some functions and output to different Php pages. Works good. How do I add a button with no input that would just perform a function and then just display a popup window showing the contents of a text file? I want to add several of these buttons for different functions and just display the contents of the resulting text files in popup windows. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. 1. Create a denomination program. See the example below. Input amount: 3897 1000: 3 500: 1 200: 1 100: 1 50: 1 20: 2 10:0 5:1 1: 2 2. Create a program that will compute the ideal age of a man's wife. See the example below. Input Man's Age: 27 Formula: Man'sAge/2 + 7 Your ideal Wife's age is: 20
Please send the Output as reply and please include the codes Edited June 14 by Given-kunEdit I wonder if some kind-hearted person can help me? I am trying to download a video file which has a wmv. The protocol is either mms:// or http:// I can see the video in my browser but I cannot download it using curl or wget in a program and I need to download a few of these. They are publicly viewable so they are not private stuff. The URL is http://210.150.12.140/vod11/tepco/other/1111_01.wmv?MSWMExt=.asf or mms://wmt.stream.co.jp/vod11/tepco/other/1111_01.wmv All I get at the moment is a text file of less than 1K and not the movie itself. How would I download this file please? Thanks Paul <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <Note> <from> Ahmad </from> <to> Yasir </to> <body> hello yasir. </Note> Above is my xml file which misses the ending tag of <body>. i want a php program that will detect this error and also fix the error and place the ending tag. can someone help me? ...and the file is to be copied into a folder created by me. I was wondering what the file path would be for Windows, since it does not seem to recognise the file path that I have chosen: Upload Form code: Code: [Select] <html> <head><title>Car Accident Report Uploader</title></head> <body> <form action="fileuploadform.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="file" size="45" name ="file"><br> <input type="submit" value = "Upload Car Accident Report"> </form> </body> </html> Copying Script Code: Code: [Select] <?php if ($_FILES['file']['name'] !="") { copy ($_FILES['file']['tmp_name'], 'C:\xampp\htdocs\rcm' . $_FILES['file']['name']) or die ("Could not copy Car Accident Report Form"); } else {die ("No Car Accident Report Form has been chosen");} ?> <html> <head><title>Car Accident Report Form Upload Complete</title></head> <body><h3>Car Accident Report Form has been uploaded</h3> <ul> <li>Sent: <?php echo $_FILES['file']['name']; ?> <li>Size: <?php echo $_FILES['file']['size']; ?> bytes <li>Type: <?php echo $_FILES['file']['type']; ?> <a href = "<?php echo $_FILES['file']['name']; ?>"> Click here to view the Car Accident Report Form</a> </body> </html> If anyone can help me find the relevant file path, it would be appreciated!
For example with an IDE to run a program is there a way to put some code in the path and let it tell me where it came from like a referral? $ref = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']; echo("$ref<br>"; Result: https://www.mydomain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=lambo As you can clearly see the page that we have entered the code in is referred by the URL here. It tells me that it was last at a word press page /wp-admin/admin-php and I can go to that page and it will be the last page it was at.. So bottom line then if i add this code to the admin page and click the same button i had before.. it will tell me the file that called out the admin page. Baslcaly I am looking for ideas on how to track the page i am now all the way back to the page with the button on it and all intermediate pages that it passes thru to get to the final destination. It seems that to succesfully troubleshoot a fault is to follow the path of the entire job and see if any breaks... Any thoughts or suggestions on how to best do this would greatly be appreciated.
I'm using a php $_POST variable as the name of a file that I want to create. fopen() , according to my understanding open the file if it exists or creates it if it doesn't. $Ref = $_POST['Ref']; I using each reference element of $Ref as the name of a file in a certain directory. So if $Ref[$i] exists as a file name in a certain directory, append to the file, if it doesn't create the file in that directory and write to it. Do I use the file path of the file within fopen()? fopen(./References/$Ref,a) or fopen(./References/$Ref,w)? Hi all I'm trying to create an XML file to be used within Excel. Hey, i'd like to extract filenames from my database and present them as a downloadable zip-file to my users. I found a usefull function on http://davidwalsh.name/create-zip-php and thought i could work that out to my needs, but on this function itself (before using it), i get an error.. on the following line: if($zip->open($destination,$overwrite ? ZIPARCHIVE::OVERWRITE : ZIPARCHIVE::CREATE) !== true) { i get: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')', expecting '(' i dont get it, dont think there is actually an error in the function.. does it mean that the php installed on the server i use, cant handle this function or anything? my phpinfo: http://dwarsfluit.davidvandiepen.nl/test.php the function is: Code: [Select] <?php /* creates a compressed zip file */ function create_zip($files = array(),$destination = '',$overwrite = false) { //if the zip file already exists and overwrite is false, return false if(file_exists($destination) && !$overwrite) { return false; } //vars $valid_files = array(); //if files were passed in... if(is_array($files)) { //cycle through each file foreach($files as $file) { //make sure the file exists if(file_exists($file)) { $valid_files[] = $file; } } } //if we have good files... if(count($valid_files)) { //create the archive $zip = new ZipArchive(); if($zip->open($destination,$overwrite ? ZIPARCHIVE::OVERWRITE : ZIPARCHIVE::CREATE) !== true) { return false; } //add the files foreach($valid_files as $file) { $zip->addFile($file,$file); } //debug //echo 'The zip archive contains ',$zip->numFiles,' files with a status of ',$zip->status; //close the zip -- done! $zip->close(); //check to make sure the file exists return file_exists($destination); } else { return false; } }?> thanks for helping! i am working on a report tool was developed in linux. I am making a comment system for my blog I'm making. The way I want it, is that when a comment is posted, it grabs the id of the post it's referring to, then creates a file called comment(POST ID HERE).txt.. I have that down, however I cannot for the life of me figure out how I can make it an increment, so it can make no more than 500, but everytime a comment is posted it will keep making the files go up like: comment1.txt comment2.txt comment3.txt Etc... Thanks very much, happy holidays! Hi All, I don't really need help with the code, I just need to know the process... This will take place in a simple form. The user enters the payment information and checks off 'Send Receipt' option. From there, the payment data is stored in the DB. Then, I need to have a PDF generated of the receipt and finally email the tenant with confirmation and the PDF that was created. Once the data is inserted, I can use fPDF to merge the data to the PDF document I created. That part I don't understand is how to automatically save that file and attach it to an email. Ideas / suggestions? Hello everybody, This is my first post here and I am beginner in PHP world in terms of writing the code to serve my own purposes. Well I am building a web app and basically it's a calendar which pulls information from .js file. Now I have thinking for the past couple of days how can I accomplish that each user that registers on the site manipulates its own .js file because information from .js file will be shown on calendar. Let me tell you how it's currently set up: 1. JavaScript file with particular static name is called under the script that is placed on index.php and the data is displayed on the page itself. So I would love to have is set it up like this: 1. Index page contains login form - Each registered/logged in user will have its own session 2. User registers and based on username/email new .js file is created out of a blank template and it is named based on user's username 3. user is then redirected to the calendar index which contains javascript that cals out that appropriate .js file based on the what user is logged in and displays data to the calendar I am not sure if that is doable with PHP or not but that's my thinking how it can be done if it's doable. I am open for any kind of suggestions how all this can be put together and if you do have better ideas I would love to hear from you. |
