PHP - Switch Statements: Why Wont My Query Print?

So I am trying to learn PDO and after some reading, I have found that you cannot use exec with select statements, however, if you are using a prepared statement, you can.

However, PDO has a function just selecting the data, using PDO::query. 

So my question is, how do I know when is the proper used to use PDO::query or the prepared statement route?  I have been able to duplicate the queries using both methods and obtain the same results. 

Is the prepared statement needed for sanitizing the data if I am selecting from user input and PDO:query used if I am only doing a general select where I explicitely state what I am selecting for in the SQL statement?

MySQL connection works and it connects to my database but it doesnt insert values into the table that I created.

Hi guys, im trying to connect to a database and get the value for the user in the row called 'user_credit', if it equals 1 or more then i want to show the ''You have &pound; ....'' bit in the script.

Problem is nothing shows at all, even without the if statement. I have changed the value for me in the database so in user_credit the value is 100, which is more than 1 so it should appear. I have probably done something wrong. Any ideas?

This is the query which should likes salestrack productid with printers productid, but even though there are data no result is showing and I really dont know why. Please help

Hello all,
I am having this very frustrating issue, I am trying to print this query i got from my SQL table. However, If the query returns 10 [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9] results it just prints 5 [2,4,6,8,10] . I have no idea what to do.

Morning,

I'm working on a web site using a switch to separate different calls from a MySQL database.  My style looks like this:

What I am trying to do, is specify that if the page is news, there can be an additional variable for id.  I attempted before and after the break; for the news case, to make a new switch, but it isn't taking.  I've looked around online, but can't find any information about this.  Can anyone offer a hand?

i need help trying to get this delete feature to work its not deleting from the database (by the way i took out my database names and passwords at the top of the file)

Here is my dilemma.

I'm trying to get the "class name" to return instead of the number that is associated with it.

I wrote a switch so that each of the 16 cases would be associated with what the class name is.

However, how do I make it output into my statement?

I have this code, which is basically a form for inputting and another for editing. As you can see I have made one part a comment as I want just the edit part to control the input and edit, which is shown at the very beginning with write case, and the seperate edit case, all I need to complete it is the part that I have highlighted in purple/bold.
