PHP - Exporting Excel: Instead Of Open/save, Directly Create And Save On Location
Hey guys!
I have the following script to create an excel file, the thing is that I dont want to be asked if I want to open or save the file when accessing the php file...I just want the php file directly to save the excel file. Heres the code: $filename = "test.xls"; $contents = "testdata1 \ntestdata2 \ntestdata3 \n"; header('Content-type: application/vnd.ms-excel'); header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename='.$filename); echo $contents; Is there a way instead of using the header function, use something like: fopen, fwrite, fclose ? Thanks in advance! Cheers, Similar TutorialsHi.. I have query for insert then I just want to add condition that after it save it will locate on the previous page: here is my code: Code: [Select] $sql = "INSERT INTO receiving_materials (sr_date, sr_number, si_num, s_name, po_num, qty, mat_code, mat_desc, wh_code, bin_loc) VALUES ('$sr_date', '$sr_number', '$si_num', '$s_name', '$po_num', '$qty', '$mat_code', '$mat_desc', '$wh_code', '$bin_loc') ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE sr_date = '$sr_date', sr_number = '$sr_number', si_num = '$si_num', s_name = '$s_name', po_num = '$po_num', qty = '$qty', mat_code = '$mat_code', mat_desc = '$mat_desc', wh_code = 'wh_code', bin_loc = '$bin_loc'"; $res_receiving = mysql_query($sql, $con) or die(mysql_error()); Thank you Hello, I want to do, when someone click on button/link will open this: but not Save As, but Open. I know how to make simple form: <html> <body> <form action="edit.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <label for="file">File:</label> <input type="file" name="file" id="file" /> <br><br> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Open"/> </form> </body> </html> But here You must click Browse, but I want to do like in photo: if You click on button, then at once will open form like photo. Many thanks, Tadas P.S. Sorry for my really bad English. Hello, I am novice in PHP, I read book and try to write some PHP code, but I don't have success in that my attempt. Do someone can to help me? I think that this what I work isn't hard, but I don't know to do. I need to create in PHP some code which will: 1. In text field I enter some words in 2-3 rows, example word11 word12 word13 word21 word22 word23 word31 word32 word33 and click to button Convert, 2. After click on that button php script will take that words and convert into this mode: word11-word12-word13(TAB here without space)word11 word12 word23 word21-word22-word23(TAB here without space)word21 word22 word23 word31-word32-word33(TAB here without space)word31 word32 word33 (spaces between words will convert into - and between first and second mode with TAB) 3. On that way converted text to be saved into new file which will be with name of first line "word11 word12 word13". I know procedure to make this, but I don't know syntax very well Can someone write me code or part of code, to give me idea how I to make this? Thank you very much, Mladen Hi, i have tried everything i can think of to get this to work correctly. What is below here, is what i have last tried to work with..: basically the script allows the use to register an email account on a cpanel domain. Everything works perfectly but then i added a option for banned words now i cant get the script to work.. basically what happens is: the user creates an email account, if the account is not a banned word and does not exist, then the message echoes success, and the $_Post values are also entered into the database under the users name. and the email is also created with the $f fopen if success the email form also does not show.. so only one email per user.. i just cant get it to work with the banned words included.. what to note:: this is a function in a function.. $bannedemailwords='customerinformation, custinfo, customerinfo, custtext, custsupport, customersupport, admin, accounts'; $bannedmail=explode(',', $bannedemailwords); $bannedmail = array_unique($bannedmail); sort($bannedmail); foreach($bannedmail as $noemail) //the selected username if ($Config['enablemyemailapp_enable'] == '0' && $_POST['cfg_enablemyemailappaddress_enable'] !== $noemaill && $_POST['cfg_enablemyemailappaddressdomain_enable'] !== 'Select a domain'){ $cpuser = 'ausername'; $cppass = 'apassword'; $cpdomain = 'adomain'; $cpskin = 'askin'; $epass = 'somepassword'; $equota = 'somequota'; $euser = $_POST['cfg_enablemyemailappaddress_enable']; $epass = $_POST['emailspassword_enable']; $edomain = $_POST['cfg_enablemyemailappaddressdomain_enable']; if (!empty($euser) && $euser !=='nomail') while(true) { $f = fopen ("http://$cpuser:$cppass@$cpdomain:2082/frontend/$cpskin/mail/doaddpop.html?email=$euser&domain=$edomain&password=$epass"a=$equota", "r"); if (!$f) { $enablemyemailapp_enable = '0'; $enablemyemailappaddress_enable = 'Replace with a Name'; $enablemyemailappaddressdomain_enable = 'Select a domain'; $msgemail = 'The email '.$euser.'@'.$edomain.' is a restricted email account.'; break; } $enablemyemailapp_enable = '1'; $enablemyemailappaddress_enable = $_POST['cfg_enablemyemailappaddress_enable']; $enablemyemailappaddressdomain_enable = $_POST['cfg_enablemyemailappaddressdomain_enable']; $msgemail ='<center><font color="#ff0033">Your Email '.$euser.'@'.$edomain.' has been created.</font></center>'; while (!feof ($f)) { $line = fgets ($f, 1024); if (ereg ("already exists", $line, $out)) { $enablemyemailapp_enable = '0'; $enablemyemailappaddress_enable = 'Replace with a Name'; $enablemyemailappaddressdomain_enable = 'Select a domain'; $msgemail ='<center><font color="#ff0033">The email account '.$euser.'@'.$edomain.' already exists.</font></center><br><center>Please try again!</center>'; break; } } echo $msgemail; $_POST['cfg_enablemyemailapp_enable']= $enablemyemailapp_enable; $_POST['cfg_enablemyemailappaddress_enable']=$enablemyemailappaddress_enable; $_POST['cfg_enablemyemailappaddressdomain_enable']=$enablemyemailappaddressdomain_enable; @fclose($f); break; } } Hi people. Need some help if anyone could give a hand! I'm currently trying to incorporate an export to Excel feature on search returns on my web page. Here is how my searches are returned, so what I want now is when the user clicks on the 'Export to Excel' button it downloads the search results and opens it in the same format in Excel. I've tried using http://phpexcel.codeplex.com/ but can't understand how to use it properly, does anyone have any suggestions? I don't have any code written for the Export to Excel yet as it's just a submit button. How I see it in my head is the user clicks the button, it goes to a new page and performs a new query then downloads that but I don't no if thats right or not. Hi everyone, I got a bit of code off the web and did some tweaking. I want to use it to export data from a mysql table to excel. I do a website for a friend and have been exporting it myself and emailing it to him. However, I thought it'd be easier if I could just direct him to a link so he could get it whenever. Anyway, the code below works pretty well...the only problem being that it exports all data to the first column of the excel file. There are commas between all fields, so it is possible to use the 'text to columns' feature in excel to separate teh data into separate columns. However, if there is a way of fixing the code that would negate the need to have to do this, it would be much appreciated. Here goes: <?php $db = mysql_connect("localhost", "MYUSERNAME", "MYPASSWORD"); mysql_select_db("MYDATABASE",$db); $query="SELECT * FROM MYTABLENAME"; $result=mysql_query($query); $num=mysql_numrows($result); mysql_close(); $csv_output = "firstname,lastname,emailaddress,crew_name_001"; $csv_output .= "\r\n"; $i=0; while ($i < $num) { $id=mysql_result($result,$i,"id"); $firstname = mysql_result($result,$i,"firstname"); $lastname = mysql_result($result,$i,"lastname"); $emailaddress = mysql_result($result,$i,"emailaddress"); $crew_name_001 = mysql_result($result,$i,"crew_name_001"); $csv_output .= "$firstname,$lastname,$emailaddress,$crew_name_001\n"; ++$i; } $mode="xls"; $type="excel"; header("Content-type: text/x-csv"); header("Content-disposition: attachment; filename=".date("d-m-Y")."-export.xls"); print $csv_output; exit; ?> Thanks for your time, Dave hello I wrote a php code which will get the records from database and save them in excel. <?php $t = strtotime($date1); $t1 = strtotime($date2); $t2 = $t1 - $t; $t3 = floor($t2 /60/60/24); $j = 0; while ($j <= $t3 ) { if ($j == 0) { $t = $t - 86400; } $t = $t + 86400; $today = date('Y-m-d',$t); mysql_select_db("reporting", $connect); $result1 = mysql_query("SELECT * from report where date = '$today' "); $row1 = mysql_fetch_assoc($result1); ?><tr><?php foreach($row1 as $k=>$v){ ?> <td><?php echo $v; $op1 = $row[$v]; ?></td> <?php } ?></tr><?php $j++; } ?> </table> <body> </html> <?php mysql_close($connect); header("Content-type: application/vnd.ms-excel"); header('Content-disposition: attachment; filename = "report" '); exit; ?> Problem is I am able to retrieve only 2 rows to excel file. If the number of rows are more than 2 it displays a table. can any one help me Hi, this is my first time here. i am trying to create an xls file from the data i get from mysql. here is the code i tried but i am not able to use it correctly. Code: [Select] ob_start(); include('config'); $datacat = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `leads`") or die(mysql_error()); $name = mysql_fetch_assoc($datacat); $line1="Industry,Company Name,Officials Name,Job Title,Country,Direct Number Mobile Number,Switch Board Number,E-mail,Executive NamePitch Date,Call Back Date,Comments\t"; while($row = mysql_fetch_array($datacat, MYSQL_ASSOC)) { $line2= $name['industry'].",".$name['company_name'].",".$name['officials_name'].",".$name['job_title'].",".$name['country'].",".$name['direct_number_mobile_number'].",".$name['switch_board_number'].",".$name['email'].",".$name['executive_name'].",".$name['pitch_date'].",".$name['call_back_date'].",".$name['comment']."\t"."\n"; } $data="$line1\n$line2\n"; header("Content-type: application/x-msdownload"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=extraction.xls"); header("Pragma: no-cache"); header("Expires: 0"); print "$header\n$data"; i get my webpage title in the top of xls file and all the fields in xls file are separated by commas, whereas i want them to be in proper tables. Help would be much appreciated. I have a script that will export data to excel. After the export, I need the page to reload showing status information, but it does not reload. What could be causing an issue like this? I think that because the export forced the download file dialogue to open, those headers may be preventing the form from reloading properly, but how, why, and what can be done to resolve the issue? Hi there, Can anybody help me to write php/javascript code which will allow users to open files directly from web browser into desktop application? Here is the specification: I have a photo editing business with many people working in Photoshop. I am currently developing a web based application (joblist) using Javascript and PHP which should allow the photoshop designers to browse and open files/images directly from joblist/web browser into photoshop. The reason I want this instead of browsing folder is that I have a database where I store who worked on which file, when and how long it took. The concept is that, designers will select a file and click on start, as soon as they click on start the original file will open in Photoshop and there will be an entry into database (using PHP). Once they finish the task they will close the file and click on Finish button. My joblist application will be published in a local server and the file will be open on a local network, so when they save the file it will be saved where the source file is located in (local server). The application should work in both PC and Mac. I have already done all other part of the application except file opening directly from browser to desktop application functionality. Anybody can help me to write the code (PHP or Javascript) which can open the file from browser (local server) directly into desktop application e.g. PHotoshop or Illustrator? Thank you very much I look forward to someone's real help! Best regards Mr. Sumon $new_relation->save(); echo "after save".$requestor_profile->getId()." ".$requestee_profile->getId(); return true; }catch(PropelException $e) { echo "in die"; die($e); return false; } }//end - if (!$res) [/PHP] the echo after the save executes but when i look in my db table there is nothing???? please help??? I want to save files to a directory. I am using a input type="text" to let user paste directory, then they choose the file from an upload form, then press submit. So here is my script: ============== <form method="post" action="" enctype=...> <input type="text" name="textboxDir" /> <input type="file" name="uploadedFile"/> </form> So how do I now save the uploaded file via $_POST['uploadedFile'] to the text box directory: $_POST["textBoxDir"]? Any help much appreciated! Im trying to use a cropping feature but when the image is cropped the alpha channel is lost. Anyone know where im going wrong here? if($ext == 'png') { $srcImg = imagecreatefrompng('avatars/'.$original); $newImg = imagecreatetruecolor($width, $height); imagealphablending($srcImg, true); imagesavealpha($srcImg, true); imagecopyresampled($newImg, $srcImg, 0, 0, $x1, $y1, $width, $height, $width, $height); imagepng($newImg, 'avatars/'.$user_name.'_avatar_cropped.png'); $link->query("UPDATE ".TBL_PREFIX."users SET u_avatar_cropped = '".$user_name."_avatar_cropped.png' WHERE u_username = '$user_name'") or die(print_link_error()); } test.php Code: [Select] <?php setcookie("test", 'tester', time()+3600*24*30 , "/", ".mystagingsite1.com"); header('Location: test2.php'); ?> test2.php Code: [Select] <?php echo '<pre>'; print_r($_COOKIE); echo '</pre>'; ?> This does not work. It's not setting the cookie at all. Is there something I am doing wrong here? Hi, I want to save an webpage into my server location, as simple as that. At present, I am reading the content of the file using curl, save that content into a text file, then save that text file. I assume there must be some straightforward way just to save www.example.com/file.html into my server directory as file.html. Can anyone help me on this, please? Thanks, -Abd good day here! I'm new in php, and i want to save diff array at the same time. is it possible? if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { $user_Id = $_POST['user_Id']; $se_Id = $_POST['se_Id']; $status = $_POST['status']; foreach ($_POST['user_Id'] as $user_Id) <-- this is working, but I want to include the other array { mysql_query("INSERT tbl_data (user_Id,se_Id,status) VALUES ('$user_Id','$se_Id,'$status'')") or die(mysql_error()); } } help me guys. I have a button that brings up my systems printer....
<button onClick="window.print()">Print this page</button>I'm trying to find a way to do the same thing but giving me the ability to save-as to my CPU. What would be nice is if I could have separate buttons to save-as a PDF and one for CSV. Each would automatically save to a file, with a comfirmation that its saved. The location would be coded in PHP for the desired format, and all the user has to do is click the button and it is placed in the appropriate folded. is this possible and easy to do across ie, firefox and chrome?
