PHP - Get Filenames From Directory And Display Each In A Cell No Wider Than 5 Columns

I have a blog on my website and the blogs content is stored in a database. On my home page I have the two recent articles displayed on my home page but I have to change them manually so I add the recent article on the home page in the first column and the second most recent one in the next column so they are side by side. What I want to do is automatically display the blogs image and blog title from the database and display on the home page so I don't have to keep changing it manually

I did look on Google before posting but could not get my head around how to do it, could anyone point me in the right direction or start me off and will have a go

When displaying data from a mysql table, what php code can I use to display the number of columns in said table?

Like, say I'm displaying comments by users. I want to be able to put "displaying 'thismany' comments".

Any suggestions?

I have this code, which calls an image directory and adds a checkbox next to it, you check the boxes you wish, hit delete and the pictures are removed from the server. I need them to display in a grid view, like 4 columns by X amount of rows. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Image name will come from database.
It can be displayed in divs or table cells.
Which is better using divs or table cells?

i have checkboxes on the database page and if checked they send to the shopping basket i have the items selected to display but like this  Array ( [0] => Imagine DragonsImagine DragonsRockI Bet My LifeKIDinaKORNER1.25Brand new single from the incredible Imagine Dragons )  

i'm trying to echo out the results from a query onto a page, but rather than having them echo out as rows in a table, i want them to be displayed in columns, i.e. first column would have the first 10 results and the second column would have the next to. Any ideas on how i could do this?

at the moment i'm using this code to display my results

This is what I have gotten so far, this is what it does right now is display each Header above each bit of data and spans across 5 columns for each foreach loop but what i am trying to understand here is i am trying to get the header then the data then another header and data and so on but only about 4 or number of my choosing grouped header/data but select how many are in each column up to 5 columns. I could use some help on naming my PHP files...

The approach I have settled on for now is that I have some PHP page that does something (e.g. "change_password.php") and then another page to which the user is redirected (e.g. "change_password_results.php") which displays an outcome message like "Your Password has been re-set."

Questions:
1.) Is it a problem having multi-word PHP File Names?

2.) Is it a problem separating them with underscores?

3.) Will it look *strange* to users looking at the URL to see a file name like "create_account_results.php" ??

4.) Will this impact SEO?

Hi all

I hope I have come to the right place.

My system reads files stored on a drive and lists them to users through plain HTML, I made it 11 years ago and have to refresh my memory.

My problem is that filenames seem to come in different formats, to how to decode/encode them is an issue...

My users use Scandinavian letters (æøåäöüõ) and it seems like one filename is in one format and another in another format. There is no logic to what format the filenames comes it. All files are ok and downloads as they should, they just dont list well.
I tried downloading one with Æ and uploading it again as -2 and it lists differently.

Any idea how I can handle this issue?

Hey guys, I have a folder which has images. In this folder there are images that start with "refl_". I want to make sure those are not displayed. This is what I tried and it does not work.
