PHP - Point Images To Upload To Different Directory
I have a PHP script that uploads images to a folder on my server (attachments folder). Currently the folder sits within my webroot and is publicly accessible (I have to use chmod 777 due to permissions issue). So, I created the "attachments" folder outside of my webroot (so that it is not publicly accessible), but I do not know how to set the path in the PHP code to upload it to that "attachments" folder outside of the webroot. As you see in the snippet of PHP code below, the code currently uploads the the "attachments" folder within the www (webroot) directory. How do I make it upload to the "attachments" folder OUTSIDE of the www (webroot) directory?
foreach($files[$form] as $file){ $str = $file[1]; if (eval("if($str){return true;}")) { $_values[$file[0]] = $_FILES[$file[0]]["name"]; $dirs = explode("/","attachments//"); $cur_dir ="."; foreach($dirs as $dir){ $cur_dir = $cur_dir."/".$dir; if (!@opendir($cur_dir)) { mkdir($cur_dir, 0777);}} $_values[$file[0]."_real-name"] = "attachments/".date("YmdHis")."_".$_FILES[$file[0]]["name"]."_secure"; copy($_FILES[$file[0]]["tmp_name"],$_values[$file[0]."_real-name"]); @unlink($_FILES[$file[0]]["tmp_name"]); }else{ $flag=true; if ($_isdisplay) { //$ExtFltr = $file[2]; //$FileSize = $file[4]; if (!eval("if($file[2]){return true;}")){echo $file[3];} if (!eval("if($file[4]){return true;}")){echo $file[5];} $_ErrorList[] = $file[0]; } } } Thanks Similar TutorialsI currently have a file upload form that uploads images to a folder on my server called "attachments". This is the directory path: www.mysite.com/docs/attachments/ However, I want the images to upload to www.mysite.com/data/attachments/ instead. I have included the relevant part of the PHP below. I have tried changing this: $cur_dir = $cur_dir."/".$dir; to this: $cur_dir = $cur_dir."www.mysite.com/data/attachments/".$dir; and changing this: $dirs = explode("/","attachments//"); to this: $dirs = explode("www.mysite.com/data/","attachments//"); and also changing this: $_values[$file[0]."_real-name"] = "attachments/".date("YmdHis")."_".$_FILES[$file[0]]["name"]."_secure"; to this: $_values[$file[0]."_real-name"] = "www.mysite.com/data/attachments/".date("YmdHis")."_".$_FILES[$file[0]]["name"]."_secure"; But nothing has worked so far. Any suggestions would be appreciated. foreach($files[$form] as $file){ $str = $file[1]; if (eval("if($str){return true;}")) { $_values[$file[0]] = $_FILES[$file[0]]["name"]; $dirs = explode("/","attachments//"); $cur_dir ="."; foreach($dirs as $dir){ $cur_dir = $cur_dir."/".$dir; if (!@opendir($cur_dir)) { mkdir($cur_dir, 0777);}} $_values[$file[0]."_real-name"] = "attachments/".date("YmdHis")."_".$_FILES[$file[0]]["name"]."_secure"; copy($_FILES[$file[0]]["tmp_name"],$_values[$file[0]."_real-name"]); @unlink($_FILES[$file[0]]["tmp_name"]); }else{ $flag=true; if ($_isdisplay) { //$ExtFltr = $file[2]; //$FileSize = $file[4]; if (!eval("if($file[2]){return true;}")){echo $file[3];} if (!eval("if($file[4]){return true;}")){echo $file[5];} $_ErrorList[] = $file[0]; } } } I have code written for image uploading, but it doesn't allow multiple images on a single upload, and doesn't re-size. Anyone willing to share a good upload script that will do the following?: -Allow multiple image uploads (10+ per submission), -Re-size images on upload, and -Rename images. Thanks Brett Basically what I am trying to do is create an upload form so that I may choose what predetermined directory in a drop down to upload the file to. For example if I want to upload 'image.jpg' to the folder 'family' I can then use a drop down, select family and upload the image. So far I have yet to find a script similar to what I am trying to do. I see regular upload scripts, but nothing so that I can choose a predetermined directory. Any ideas? Heya all, as the title says, i meet some issues when uploading files to my server, here is the code;
$anime = $_POST['anime']; $anime = $file = str_replace(' ', '\ ', $anime); $anime = "Sous-titres/".$anime."/"; $target_dir = $anime; $target_file = $target_dir . basename($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["name"]); $uploadOk = 1; if(isset($_POST["submit"])) { // Check if file already exists if (file_exists($target_file)) { echo "Sorry, file already exists."; $uploadOk = 0; } // Check file size if ($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["size"] > 50000000) { echo "Sorry, your file is too large."; $uploadOk = 0; } // Check if $uploadOk is set to 0 by an error if ($uploadOk == 0) { echo "Sorry, your file was not uploaded."; // if everything is ok, try to upload file } else { if (move_uploaded_file($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["tmp_name"], $target_file)) { echo "The file " . basename($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["name"]) . " has been uploaded."; } else { var_dump ($target_dir); echo "Sorry, there was an error uploading your file."; } } }So, i'm attempting to acces to a directory taking the name of the anime that the admin put in the input type="text", for upload the file selected in. Error with the var_dump: string(28) "Sous-titres/Akame\ ga\ kill/" Sorry, there was an error uploading your file. Hope you can help me ! Edited by Zane, 08 December 2014 - 10:48 AM. Good Evening, If anyone could help with this little problem be much appreciated. what i'm trying to do is using a drop down menu select a folder name which is stored in a database table.. then taking that folder name and upload various files to that specified folder. There's probably an easier way to do this but i've searched google argggh.. The first part of code is the php to grab the folder names and the file selection form Code: [Select] <?php include("connection.php"); $sql="SELECT id, name FROM gallery"; $result=mysql_query($sql); $options=""; while ($row=mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $id=$row["id"]; $thing=$row["name"]; $options.="<OPTION VALUE=\"$id\">".$thing ; } ?> <table width="500" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#CCCCCC"> <tr> <form action="postFiles.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" name="form1" id="form1"> <td> <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <tr> <td><strong>multiple Files Upload </strong></td> </tr> <td><SELECT NAME=thing> <OPTION VALUE=0>Choose <?=$options?> </SELECT> </td> <tr> <td>Select file <input name="ufile[]" type="file" id="ufile[]" size="50" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Select file <input name="ufile[]" type="file" id="ufile[]" size="50" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Select file <input name="ufile[]" type="file" id="ufile[]" size="50" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="center"><input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Upload" /></td> </tr> </table> </td> </form> </tr> </table> The second part of the code below is the php code to upload those files, the problem being how do i specify the upload destination using the drop down in the previous form (instead of UPLOAD) which it is default set to Code: [Select] <?php //set where you want to store files //in this example we keep file in folder upload //$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name']; = upload file name //for example upload file name cartoon.gif . $path will be upload/cartoon.gif $path1= "upload".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][0]; $path2= "upload".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][1]; $path3= "upload".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][2]; //copy file to where you want to store file copy($HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['tmp_name'][0], $path1); copy($HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['tmp_name'][1], $path2); copy($HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['tmp_name'][2], $path3); //$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'] = file name //$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'] = file size //$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['type'] = type of file echo "File Name :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][0]."<BR/>"; echo "File Size :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][0]."<BR/>"; echo "File Type :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['type'][0]."<BR/>"; echo "<img src=\"$path1\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\">"; echo "<P>"; echo "File Name :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][1]."<BR/>"; echo "File Size :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][1]."<BR/>"; echo "File Type :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['type'][1]."<BR/>"; echo "<img src=\"$path2\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\">"; echo "<P>"; echo "File Name :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][2]."<BR/>"; echo "File Size :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][2]."<BR/>"; echo "File Type :".$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['type'][2]."<BR/>"; echo "<img src=\"$path3\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\">"; /////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // Use this code to display the error or success. $filesize1=$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][0]; $filesize2=$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][1]; $filesize3=$HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['size'][2]; if($filesize1 && $filesize2 && $filesize3 != 0) { echo "We have recieved your files"; } else { echo "ERROR....."; } ////////////////////////////////////////////// // What files that have a problem? (if found) if($filesize1==0) { echo "There're something error in your first file"; echo "<BR />"; } if($filesize2==0) { echo "There're something error in your second file"; echo "<BR />"; } if($filesize3==0) { echo "There're something error in your third file"; echo "<BR />"; } ?> Thanks in advance for any help if you need to see a live version of these files i can provide a link So I'm a little confused and hoping someone can help me understand. I have a form that I use to upload a file, html with browse button, etc. The php file creates a directory based on the a value (lastname) from the form, so the folder files creates a directory named the value lastname. My problem is that I can't get the upload function to put the file in the newly created directory. So here is the upload script. $foldername = $_POST['lastname']; // Desired folder structure $structure = 'files/'.$foldername.''; // To create the nested structure, the $recursive parameter // to mkdir() must be specified. if (!mkdir($structure, 0777, true)) { die('Failed to create folders...'); } $target = "files/"; $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['userfile']['name']) ; if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['userfile']['tmp_name'], $target)) { echo "<center>The file ". basename( $_FILES['userfile']['name']). " has been uploaded.</center>"; } else { echo "No File was uploaded"; } So when I edited the target, it just changed the filename . What should I change in the code above to upload the file to the new directory? Thanks again, Sanchez I have this code where I add records: Code: [Select] <?php ini_set('display_errors',1); error_reporting(-1); require_once ('./includes/config.inc.php'); require_once (MYSQL); $add_cat_errors = array(); if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == 'POST') { // Check for a name: if (empty($_POST['product'])) { $add_cat_errors['product'] = 'Please enter the name!'; } // Check for a description: if (empty($_POST['prod_descr'])) { $add_cat_errors['prod_descr'] = 'Please enter the description!'; } // Check for a category: if (!isset($_POST['cat']) || !filter_var($_POST['cat'], FILTER_VALIDATE_INT, array('min_range' => 1))) { $add_cat_errors['cat'] = 'Please select a category!'; } // Check for a price: if (empty($_POST['price']) || !filter_var($_POST['price'], FILTER_VALIDATE_FLOAT) || ($_POST['price'] <= 0)) { $add_cat_errors['price'] = 'Please enter a valid price!'; } // Check for a category: if (!isset($_POST['directory']) || !filter_var($_POST['directory'], FILTER_VALIDATE_INT, array('min_range' => 1))) { $add_cat_errors['directory'] = 'Please select a directory!'; } // Check for an image: if (is_uploaded_file ($_FILES['image']['tmp_name']) && ($_FILES['image']['error'] == UPLOAD_ERR_OK)) { $file = $_FILES['image']; $size = ROUND($file['size']/1024); // Validate the file size: if ($size > 512) { $add_cat_errors['image'] = 'The uploaded file was too large.'; } // Validate the file type: $allowed_mime = array ('image/jpeg', 'image/JPG', 'image/jpg'); $allowed_extensions = array ('.jpg', 'jpeg'); $image_info = getimagesize($file['tmp_name']); $ext = substr($file['name'], -4); if ( (!in_array($file['type'], $allowed_mime)) || (!in_array($image_info['mime'], $allowed_mime) ) || (!in_array($ext, $allowed_extensions) ) ) { $add_cat_errors['image'] = 'The uploaded file was not of the proper type.'; } // Move the file over, if no problems: if (!array_key_exists('image', $add_cat_errors)) { // Create a new name for the file: $new_name = (string) sha1($file['name'] . uniqid('',true)); // Add the extension: $new_name .= ((substr($ext, 0, 1) != '.') ? Then, a user will upload an image. When a image is uploaded and a directory is chosen, I want the image to be assigned to a specific directory from the list so when the record is inserted, that image will be placed in the specific directory. How do I achieve this please? I have some code where i input data and upload images to a database (working 100% correctly) However I want to expand on it - what I want is when a user uploads an image of their choice, to assign it to a directory of their choosing. Then, when input is successful, write the directory of where the image is stored (not just the image) to the database. Here is the code; Code: [Select] <?php ini_set('display_errors',1); error_reporting(-1); require_once ('./includes/config.inc.php'); require_once (MYSQL); $add_cat_errors = array(); if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == 'POST') { // Check for a name: if (empty($_POST['product'])) { $add_cat_errors['product'] = 'Please enter the name!'; } // Check for a description: if (empty($_POST['prod_descr'])) { $add_cat_errors['prod_descr'] = 'Please enter the description!'; } // Check for a category: if (!isset($_POST['cat']) || !filter_var($_POST['cat'], FILTER_VALIDATE_INT, array('min_range' => 1))) { $add_product_errors['cat'] = 'Please select a category!'; } // Check for a price: if (empty($_POST['price']) || !filter_var($_POST['price'], FILTER_VALIDATE_FLOAT) || ($_POST['price'] <= 0)) { $add_cat_errors['price'] = 'Please enter a valid price!'; } // Check for an image: if (is_uploaded_file ($_FILES['image']['tmp_name']) && ($_FILES['image']['error'] == UPLOAD_ERR_OK)) { $file = $_FILES['image']; $size = ROUND($file['size']/1024); // Validate the file size: if ($size > 512) { $add_cat_errors['image'] = 'The uploaded file was too large.'; } // Validate the file type: $allowed_mime = array ('image/jpeg', 'image/JPG', 'image/jpg'); $allowed_extensions = array ('.jpg', 'jpeg'); $image_info = getimagesize($file['tmp_name']); $ext = substr($file['name'], -4); if ( (!in_array($file['type'], $allowed_mime)) || (!in_array($image_info['mime'], $allowed_mime) ) || (!in_array($ext, $allowed_extensions) ) ) { $add_cat_errors['image'] = 'The uploaded file was not of the proper type.'; } // Move the file over, if no problems: if (!array_key_exists('image', $add_cat_errors)) { // Create a new name for the file: $new_name = (string) sha1($file['name'] . uniqid('',true)); // Add the extension: $new_name .= ((substr($ext, 0, 1) != '.') ? Hi, I have a list of images from a directory that are in order by their "id". How could I display one at a time on a page--starting from the beginning, and have it so the user can click on the image and go to the next one in line. Thank you. here is the page as it is. http://ealike.com/simple_uploader/uploader.php and here is the code. I havent included the whole title as it wouldnt let me but I was wondering if someone could help me on this? I know this is possible as torrentflux caters for this but unsure of where to start. I dont want to allow file or directory uploads or creation in my /etc/php.ini file (this is turned off). Yet then torrentflux allows me to link a torrent from an external source (using legal downloads of course ) but then it uploads it on my server and creates folders on a per user basis. How is this possible can someone give me some pointers please? I look forward to any replies, Jeremy. Hello... I have some simple code but no ideas for upload another image??
