PHP - Weird Php Include Problem (changes Between Linux And Windows)

Hi, I'm not totally sure if this is the right section for this question but...

I have my dev environment (my laptop) - windows vista, apache web server, also using my laptop as a client.

I have my php project on the web server, I go to the login page in my browser (IE8) and login in, if it's valid it reloads the page with the user detail etc..it works.

I've moved it onto a linux server (i think it still uses apache), I go to the login page in my browser (IE8) and login in. A blank page is displayed BUT if i hit refresh the user detail is displayed as expected.
Also if I logout, again a blank page (it should display the login page) but when I hit refresh this time, it stays blank.

I won't post my code just yet as I was wondering if anyone ever had the same issue before?

Windows..works ok, Linux..doesn't work ok till refresh, but even then that doesn't work for the logout.
My other thought is that it may work ok in windows because everythings on my laptop as in c:/php and the web server.

Not much to go on I know but it may ring a bell with someone.

I need to copy php files from remote linux (apache) server to windows usb drive. I am using php windows but the files were created in php under linux.   Do I just download them or do I need to do something to make this work  

hello guys. i ve been trying to write to a file using fwrite() inside my server directory. i am using this code:

i have even pre-created the file "skata" in the diractory running as root and gave it permissions 777. i m not quite familiar with linux or apache permissions and i can tfigure out what's going wrong. i am running apache under fedora, and i would appreciate some guidelines here.

Is anyone running PHP storm on Windows and debugging their PHP code on a remote Linux box? I ask because I am contemplating buying PHPStorm.  What opinions I have read  on this configuration say it doesn't work well. 

this issue is not about core php hacking, but I guess this topic fits here best.

I want to make php mail() function send emails using remote smtp server.  I want to force this to all mail() users at my servers. However I use linux php so I cant specify remote smtp in php.ini cause php passes emails directly to sendmail/qmail ... (ps. I dont need script to use with remote smtp by socket connections, i want to make MAIL() do it so my users dont have to change anything at their source).

So what I need is

a) MTA like sendmail that actualy dont send mails to repicients, but it transfers it to remote mta-smtp (ps. I dont want relay, cause I dont want relaing to be visible in source of message)

or

b) some core hack-mod to make php mail() with php.ini work like on windows - not with sendmail/qmail but with socket connection to smtp.

Any ideas.. I guess not

The following is my situation where I seem to get a 500 error code from the linux server:

i have an 'index' file like this:

Now if we fall into the case "home" it works fine. Instead, if we fall into user-process it writes to the logs file Fatal Error: Class User does not exist bla bla bla. Why doesn't it exist ? every class is included in the config.php file then index.php includes first config.php ( which has all the classes) and then includes the requested page.

I also have a .htaccess file which is as follows:

the code below works as it should except when it is being included for some reason the filter function doesn;'t work and i get a pop up...

edit2: Now i changed the code a bit and put the filter function before echoing it, and than it works... may i assume that it should not be used in the echo directly?

Hey, guys, in the following code, why i cannot see my ~/test.txt file? It seem he is not doing what i want, to create a .txt file with 'is just a test'. I'm using Debian.

Hello,   I've installed a Debian x64 minimal package and a control panel on my VPS, but after I install the name servers, the domain doesn't reach my VPS's name servers for some reason. The minimal package comes only with the tools to run the Debian server which means it had no sudo and such. But previously when I had Centos on before switching to Debian, it did reach the name servers. Which in this case I suspect that it's a server-side problem, could there be any ?   When I try to connect to the domain it says that the website is not available.     I am using zpanel and the default DNS records that the zpanel generates.     P.S. I tried to find the reason why it doesn't work but I couldn't find any solution, all I found is suggestions to add www A record which also didn't work. And yes, I did wait 24 hours and even more.

Hai, i have a project which is build from mac os and then i transfer all the file to windows and run it. Alot of error showing on windows but none on mac os. I already check the short tag but still alot of problem to run from windows. Anyone know whats the problem?

Okay, so basically my news-like site is supposed to print out article data saved in the database.  It does that quite alright, except on the 3rd article (number 2 in SQL rows or columns.  whichever it is.   I have my counter subtract 1 from the start article to compensate for MySQL)

Output: (The COUNT x OF y was to help me figure out what is wrong.  In the () by it is the id number of the corresponding MySQL row/column.  I even deleted one of the articles to see if it was a specific article error.  No luck.)

I am making a function to execute every time with a new demand no. in the while loop below. Every thing goes fine for the first time when the page loads, all the taxes come perfectly and each record is being read with the function calculateTaxes($demandno). But, when I press the search button with blank entries... All the entries come with only the first record. Means, the calculateTaxes function is not being loaded again and again with the loop when the press the search button.

Please help.

I have an array that displays the following information with the print_r function:

I would like to save the last row to my database which in this case is 220 but the last row could vary from time to time as the array is created from an email attachment so l wanted a code that would find the number of rows in the array.

When l echo out the row like this: echo $matches[0][210] it retrieves the correct information so l wanted to implement this code instead to cater for an unknown amount of array rows so that the highest row was always returned:

$i = count($matches[0]);

echo $matches[0][$i];

but this does not work as when echoing $i the result is 2216 instead of 220 which l find odd or l am doing something wrong. Any ideas?

I have a function that contains 2 UPDATE commands. One updates a table whenever the function is ran. The second updates only if a condition is met.

When the page loads the function is ran. For some reason the table is updated twice. So my table looks like this:

Initially
Viewed: 0 Replies: 0

Navigate to page:
Viewed:2 Replies:0

Enter a reply and submit:
Veiwed:4 Replies:1

No matter where I move the "viewed +1" code, it fires twice per page impression. Is this a glitch? Do functions run twice for some reason? If so why doesn't "reply +1" fire twice?
