I have two domains. I'd like to replace a word depending on the URL the user has typed in.

For example:
Original site is all about red pens. Well I want to make another domain that is bluepens.com, but when they enter in bluepens.com it uses the same pages from red pens except wherever the word 'red' is found it is changed to blue pens making it a whole new site.

I know I can use str_replace() for certain instances, but how would you do it for an entire website using the url?

Hi,

Well I have been working on Php for quite sometime but creating Word Docs is something I am totally new to. I googled about this and found different methods of creating word documents via php. The most promising one that I found involves writing HTML code and inside header, save it as a *.doc file (I know thats not exactly a Word File but what else can be done). Like this,

The whole word document came out perfectly fine, but there was one little problem (later on turned out to be the BIGGEST one) was placing images in the document. All the images were saved on a secure server so like we do in HTML, I used the following line of code,

The word document appeared to be fine for me, but when that document was sent to the client, client was unable to view the images. Now, I guess you all know what my question would be, and that is, is there a way we could somehow make this work. I even tried downloading all the images to disk and giving their path, still in the end, the document only needs to be sent to the client and images do not appear.

Though this works, I want it to be better. I want a way to single out only the data the user inputs and not return everything else. Any ideas/suggestions are welcomed. Thank you!

Replacing An Output With An Updated Output On An Infinate Loop

Well I have a script that executes a scan on a system set to run infinitely, and I need it to echo out a message each time it loops through, but I don't want it to echo out the message with the next loop message below it, and the next one below that etc... I've tried using the flush(); function and been messing around with that with no luck. Well, this isn't working for me. The second page code returns this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING

When I execute print_r, the values are returned to me. So I have two questions:

1) What do I need to do to change the code on the 2nd page to echo and POST the array?

2)The database contains multiple exercises under the same name. So, when the variables are passed to the 2nd page. All the values are returned regardless of whether they have been filled out or not. What can be done to only returned the user input and not the blank variables?

It work's, however, as you can imagine it is incredibly slow loading. And browsers such as IE usually end up crashing, even on high end, fast processing PC's, let alone what might happen on an average house hold computer.

I've been wondering if there is a more effective method of creating the grid that I am unaware of, I will also be implementing hover boxes (overLib) over each 5x5 cell, which will display dynamic information from a database. And the background color will also be taken from the database and not be decided by the php rand(); like it currently is. So I'm thinking once I start adding more to it, it's going to run even slower than what it is now.

I know this is a PHP forum, but if PHP isn't the best answer would anyone think Javascript could make it run smoother? Or is it going to be impossible to create it fast and efficiently no matter what I use?

Good morning, I'm writing a php script on a transaction creation/initiation. Only a registered user can initiate a transaction but if the second party to the transaction is not a registered user, the system will send a mail to the user informing him/her to accept and create an account.

Originally the data comes from ~2-3 database tables, of course. But to ilustrate the point, this is how the main array looks like. This array usually contains anywhere between 10-50 rows, each row containing at least 10 dates, with 10 key/values each. And after setting up all the data, it needs to be processed. Currently this is how a friend of mine did it..

$placeDataHere = array();
foreach($firstArray as $key => $dates) {
foreach($dates as $date => $values) {
foreach($values as $key => $value) {
$placeDataHere['DV_' . $date]['SM_' . $key] = 'KS_' . $value;
//Followed by another ~50-70 lines of processing the 3 loop's data..

Obviously this isn't good practise, but we can't seem to figure out a better way of doing it, since both the data and the loops are horribly nested. This loop and setup of $firstArray is run anywhere between 10-20 times/request, due to amount of users we wish to process. So, the result is that this code can take up to over 2-3 minutes to complete, which isn't really optimal performance. In short my question is, are there any better methods of handling this with the data setup we currently have?

Hey guys, I have a quick question.

Im going to be making a script that will output the name of a news article along with the poster's name beside it.

There is only a certain amount of space where that stuff can go so I want to know how I can make it so that say after 20 characters, it ends and puts "..." beside it.

Is this possible with php? How would I do it?

hi freaks,

still working on my email bot.
im currently trying to escape <>-tags to be displayed- but not the browser wont exectute it (i.e. xls-tags) i want them as chars.

so whin my
$content is like <xsl:stylesheet> <xsl:template match="/"> <more xls...> it shows a stylesheet.
i just want the chars.

Hi Guys,

I use this function to generate seo friendly names for my products once pulled from the database:

function generate_seo_friendly_links($pNM, $pID)
{
    $replacedNM = str_replace(" ", "-", $pNM);
    $replacedNM = rtrim($replacedNM);
    $brandNewSEOFriendlyURL = "<a href='$replacedNM-$pID.html'>$pNM</a>";
    return $brandNewSEOFriendlyURL;
}

This works great, the only thing is say a product is stored in the database like:

product name it would then be converted to: product-name.html

if for example theres 2 spaces:

product name it would then be converted to: product--name.html

with the 2 "--" so for every space it finds we replace with a "-" etc

is there a way i could ignore more than 1 space and always have it like product-name-here.html so the names are more uniformed, i can't think of a way to do it.

any help would be appreciated
