Hi, I have a chunk of text I am pulling from a mysql db like below.

If the first dropdown "3 Compact " is selected second dropdown should not be able to select "3 Compact" & if first dropdown "5 Regular" is selected second dropdown should not be able to select below values of 5 Regular like "3 Compact, 3 Regular, 3 Triple, 5 Compact. The logic is, if first dropdown value selects like 5, second dropdown value must select above 5 not 4 or 3 or 2 or 1. I am wanting to create a basic product listing page for a product category called "Belts". I have a list of item codes eg.

I want to take these and split them into parts:
size1 Acolor2
size1 Bcolor3
etc.
Then I want to create a form with 2 dropdowns. The first option would just have all unique sizes so:
size1
size2
size3
Then when one is selected, option 2 would show the colours available in that size.
Is there a standard way of doing this? Can I use PHP to create the array and then jquery to display and hide the options?
I'm totally stuck and i'm not just looking for somebody to code it all for me. any help would be greatly appreciated

I am trying to create a form that will be store in-house. This form needs to have a drop-down of keywords. These keywords will cause a snippet of code (pulled from the selection of the keyword) to be placed into a text document one after another. Ex.: I click on "Header" in the list and click Insert Code. I then hit click on "Body" and it creates the Code: [Select] "<body></body" code to appear on the text document below the "Header" code above it. Thanks in advance, Jim In case you guys don't know what lisp is, tl;dr is that is an old language without syntax that uses polish notation and parentheses to represent all language constructs. You can also create your own language constructs. For example, this mysql statement : UPDATE table_name SET column1=value1,column2=value2 WHERE some_column=some_valueCan be represented as (update "table_name" (set ('column1 "value1") ('column2 "value2") (where (= some_column "some_value")))
One advantage of this whole thing is that you don't have to mix multiple languages to create a site. When you program in php, you actually use html, css, php and MySQL. When you program in lisp, you only use lisp. Another advantage is that the language with no syntax is easier to programaticaly generate than one with it. I can auto generate various sql statements as lisp trees. The disadvantage is that lisp is obscure as hell and no one uses it.So I was thinking of using php arrays to get some of that expressiveness of lisp in PHP and to abstract away necessity to glue together sql strings. So far it has been mixed results. One way to represent update is this ["update", "table_name", ["column1" => "value1", "column2" => "value2"], ["where", [ "=", "some_column", "some_value"]]]I represent columns to be updated as key=>value pairs since column names are unique anyway. One advantage of this method is that I don't have to use mysql_real_escape_string on variables for updating. My interpreter automatically escapes everything inside SET bracket and adds quotes to values. This is however, less than practical in its WHERE part. That's because it is less clear what part you can and can't escape, since column names, functions and values can all be mixed up in WHERE part, and arrays are not nearly as flexible as s-expressions.
