PHP - Simple Error

Hi everybody, my goal is to get the IP of someone accesing the site, writing the time and date along with his IP into the database. Of course, I would be adding the script to my frontpage when I make it work.
But I get this error:

I've checked line 8, I dont find anything in it that is out of place.

This is absolutely stupid. I'm debugging PHP in Eclipse PDT with XDebug and XAMPP on Windows 7. A section of code has been working for weeks. Suddenly I'm told the following is a syntax error (line 226)

$forumtitle = $forum['title'];
$threadtitle = $thread['title'];

Eclipse matches bracket and normally clipse would highlight [ when I put the cursor behind ]. Not here.

On similar statements before this I changed ' (single quote) to  (double quote)".  The brackets [ and ] highlighted correctly but the " produced a louder syntax error.. 

Then I simply removed the single quotes. No syntax error. Brackets match. But I will probably get a syntax error.

Usually stupidity like this indicates a quote problem somewhere before this code.  After looking very hard, I see none. It feels like something is wrong with the Eclipse editor and something has to be reset. But what?

I would appreciate any help.

I have a table called "colors".  It has 2 columns, id and color.

All I'm trying to do is pull the data into the form, then edit the colors (for example - misspelled, etc.)
Then submit it back to the table.

Details:

I get compiler errors in PHP 5.2 when using this as an object.

The offending lines are 609 and 940, which both contain this construct:

if ($this->size>0) $this->char = $this->doc[0];

This tries to get the first character of $this->doc, but PHP 5.2 sees it as trying to access it as an array. It's easily fixed by this:

if ($this->size>0) $this->char = substr($this->doc, 0, 1);

Or you could probably use chr(ord($this->doc)) as well. Either way solves the compile error without changing functionality.

PHP = 5.5.14 MySQL = 5.2.17   I've cloned a mysqli_connect() statement in a 'require' file placed in a non-public access location on the server.  It's the same format (and location) currently working fine with another application, EXCEPT i changed the database name to what I need to use for this application, AND added the $con= part on the front end to substitute for the commented out $con= line in the example code I'm modifying to insert data into a new MySQL DB Table.   The dB Table is fine and I have Inserted data via myPHPAdmin with no problems.  Only two form variables are in the simple PHP script thus far just to test if it will work before proceeding.   I've used pseudonames for the actual /home/.... location and filename, and am now Baffled about the Line 2 Error Message I'm getting (below the code).

Okay, I have no idea how this works out but this is really getting on my nerves.

Here is my logic for the following code. I manually register a user, It goes into the database and dispatches an email notification explaining that a user must activate their account and change their user name (OPTIONAL) and password. In the email, There is an automatically generated password with the username, And a link to activate the account. This leads to stage 1 of the activation process, In this stage the user is accepted, Registered as a verified user and then is sent to another page to change the details like login and password. As far as I know this page works except through trial and error I found that this little snippet of code is causing browsers to show an error 500 page, If I remove this the page works:

I am a new developer, trying to figure out what causing a memory error. The code goes through registered appointments and depends on the service ID, I have to free a 45 minutes for another service to be booked. Now, once I book an appointment for any of the services that can have 45 minutes free spot, the website takes forever to load the hours but doesn't show them, instead I get this error

Hello all,   Appreciate if you folks could pls. help me understand (and more importantly resolve) this very weird error:     Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ASC, purchase_later_flag ASC, shopper1_buy_flag AS' at line 3' in /var/www/index.php:67 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/index.php(67): PDO->query('SELECT shoplist...') #1 {main} thrown in /var/www/index.php on line 67   Everything seems to work fine when/if I use the following SQL query (which can also be seen commented out in my code towards the end of this post) :

In googling for this error I came across posts that suggested using "ORDER BY FIND_IN_SET()" and "ORDER BY FIELD()"...both of which I tried with no success.   Here's the portion of my code which seems to have a problem, and line # 67 is the 3rd from bottom (third last) statement in the code below:

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to select either a class or an id using PHP Simple HTML DOM Parser with absolutely no luck.  My example is very simple and seems to comply to the examples given in the manual(http://simplehtmldom.sourceforge.net/manual.htm) but it just wont work, it's driving me up the wall.
