PHP - Getting Ghost Pages With Page Count Code
Hi Everyone,
I have an ecommerce store that I have done some coding for, and each category has some coding to create pages to display items in that category. For some reason, I am getting a couple of "ghost" pages on the end of a couple categories. For example, look at this page: http://www.autismcommunitystore.com/view.php?category=4 Pages 5 & 6 are blank - page 4 has the last of the items in the category. I have a table called prods_to_cats which connects the products and the categories (a many to many relationship). I'm posting the code here - could someone just let me know if they spot something that looks like trouble? Thank you in advance for your time! Code: [Select] <? $category=$_REQUEST['category']; $showcategory=$category; include 'connect.php'; $thiscategory = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM category WHERE category_id=$showcategory", $dbh); $thisrow = mysql_fetch_array($thiscategory); $this_des=$thisrow["category_description"]; $this_text=$thisrow["category_text"]; $titlekey="Products listed in $this_des at Autism Community Store 877-422-5932"; // If current page number, use it // if not, set one! if(!isset($_GET['page'])){ $page = 1; } else { $page = $_GET['page']; } // Define the number of results per page $max_results = 40; // Figure out the limit for the query based // on the current page number. $from = (($page * $max_results) - $max_results); echo '<div id="product">'; $result = mysql_query("SELECT DISTINCT product.id, product.* FROM prods_to_cats INNER JOIN product ON prods_to_cats.id=product.id WHERE prods_to_cats.category_id=$showcategory ORDER BY product.title ASC LIMIT $from, $max_results", $dbh); $numresult = mysql_num_rows($result); if($numresult==0) { echo "<p style='padding-left: 50px'>There are no products listed in this category.</p>\n"; } else { $thiscategory = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM category WHERE category_id=$showcategory", $dbh); $thisrow = mysql_fetch_array($thiscategory); $this_des=$thisrow["category_description"]; echo "<table width='100%'><tr>"; echo "<div style='position:relative; left:150px;'><font size='2'>Return To: <strong><a href='http://www.autismcommunitystore.com'>Home </a></strong></font></div><br/>"; echo "<div style='position:relative ; width:100%' align='center'>"; echo "<br />"; echo "<img src='http://www.watchesandthings.com/autism/images/suppliesHeader.gif'>"; echo "</div>"; echo "<h2>"; echo "<div style='padding-right:20px ; position:relative ; width;100%; text-align:right;'>"; echo "<div style='position:relative ; width;80%; text-align:center; left:20%;'>"; echo $this_des; echo "</div>"; echo "</div>"; echo "</h2>"; echo "<div style='position:relative ; padding-left:30px ; padding-right:30px ; '>"; echo "<p>"; echo "$this_text </p>"; echo "</div>"; echo "</tr>"; $count = 1; $column = 1; //initialize column 1 or 2 //-----------------------code for drop down menu---------------------------------------- include 'browserChecker.php'; /* echo $browser; echo "<br/>"; echo $browser_version; echo "<br/>"; $main_version=$browser_version[0]; echo $main_version; */ if ($browser=='IE' && $browser_version<7){ echo '<br />'; //make version 6 compatible select box if ($category==1 || $category==24){ }else{ ?> <center> <div id="hiddendiv" style="display:;"> <form method="get" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="http://www.autismcommunitystore.com/viewsubcategory.php"> <select id="myselectbox" name="subcategory" > <? Thanks in advance for any help. Hi, i wonna put on my website to ghosts can post comments and registred users, and i made 2 tables ghosts and users, now i need method to save ghosts on that table, but how to save them with uniq number? I tried session_id, but it works bad, when someone comment it write in db his session_id, but after some time, when someone else comment, it can get his session_id, or no ? Looke on the PHP manual for the "count" function and it has confused me. it seems to count arrays more than anything. i have a small site and i wanted to display how many items are contained within a Database table. for example i want it to count the amount of users are in the user table. and i then need to echo that amount + 100. Can someone help me with the code. i have already included a database connect script within the header of the page with includes etc. Help would be appreciated. but i would like to know how the code works else i will never learn. The following works, but I don't want to have to write 50 query statements for 50 states. How can I just write one query (using a variable I presume) and then echo the variable count each time for each state? I'm just trying to list the total number of rows for each state, that exist in the db. <? $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE source = 'alabama'") or die(mysql_error()); $num_rows = mysql_num_rows($result); ?> href="/state/alabama/">alabama</a> (<?php echo("$num_rows");?>) <br> <? $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE source = 'alaska'") or die(mysql_error()); $num_rows = mysql_num_rows($result); ?> href="/state/alaska/">alaska</a> (<?php echo("$num_rows");?>) <br> The above would give output such as: alabama (122) alaska (212) Can you see any problems with the code below? It doesn't work. What I am trying to do is quite straightforward. The links on my site look like this: go.php?id=1&url=usa go.php?id=1&url=uk go.php?id=2&url=usa go.php?id=2&url=uk When a visitor clicks on one of these links, I want to grab the values of the id and url parameters, count the click, and redirect the visitor. Here's the error that I get when I try the code: Quote Warning: mysql_fetch_row() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in C:\xampp\htdocs\sites\go.php on line 18 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at C:\xampp\htdocs\sites\go.php:18) in C:\xampp\htdocs\sites\go.php on line 19 <?php $conn = mysql_connect('localhost','username', 'password') or trigger_error("SQL", E_USER_ERROR); mysql_select_db('database', $conn) or trigger_error("SQL", E_USER_ERROR); $id = intval($_GET['id']); $url = intval($_GET['url']); mysql_query("UPDATE urls SET click_counter = click_counter+1 WHERE id=$id"); if ($url=="usa") $href = "SELECT usa FROM urls WHERE id=$id"; elseif ($url=="uk") $href = "SELECT uk FROM urls WHERE id=$id"; elseif ($url=="aus") $href = "SELECT aus FROM urls WHERE id=$id"; elseif ($url=="can") $href = "SELECT can FROM urls WHERE id=$id"; else $href = "SELECT int FROM urls WHERE id=$id"; $qry = mysql_query($href); list($href)=mysql_fetch_row($qry); header("Location:$href"); mysql_close($conn); ?> Alright guys i have an idea on what am going to do here, although i am unsure that it's the best way to go about it. I am creating a blog and i need to count how many views an article gets in order to display the top 10 most viewed articles. Here is my plan... 1. Add an additional field to my blog posts table called viewed 2. On the view article page have an update method that adds one to the current number on the the coloum viewed 3. When displaying the 10 most viewed articles query it by the heightest number and limet to 5 I need to get the page count of a multi-tiff and pdf file using php. I've looked into imagick but i'm having a hard time getting it to work. i'm using windows 2k3 iis, and php 5.2.8. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Hello- I have a social network that has a blogs and questions section. There are community pages for each one ( blogs/questions ) On each of those pages. the first ten blogs/questions are displayed. To the right of those are a list of clickable categories that sort the pages according to their category. I have pagination implemented after each ten. I am doing a mod_rewrite for pretty urls on my dev and have everything working correctly. The problem is, after hitting next the first time 'page=' is blank and just reloads the first (defaulted page) but after a second click it becomes 'page=10' as it should and then the third click 'page=20" as it should. So basically I am trying to get it to go to 'page=10" after one click, not two. Here is the code for the pagination: Code: [Select] <div id="all_page_turn"> <ul> <?php if($totalBlogs > 10 && $_GET['page'] >= 10) { ?> <li class="PreviousPageBlog round_10px"> <a href="/blogs/?cat=<?php if(isset($_GET['cat'])) { echo $_GET['cat'];} ?>&sort=<?php if(isset($_GET['sort'])) { echo $_GET['sort'];} ?>&page=<?php if(isset($_GET['page'])) { echo ($_GET['page'] - 10);} ?>">Previous Page</a> </li> <?php } ?> <?php if($totalBlogs > 10 && $_GET['page'] < ($totalBlogs-10)) { ?> <li class="NextPageBlog round_10px"> <a href="/blogs/?cat=<?php if(isset($_GET['cat'])) { echo $_GET['cat'];} ?>&sort=<?php if(isset($_GET['sort'])) { echo $_GET['sort'];} ?>&page=<?php if(isset($_GET['page'])) { echo ($_GET['page'] + 10);} ?>">Next Page</a> </li> <?php } ?> </ul> </div> </div>and here is the defaulted category link: Code: [Select] <div id="RightBlogs"> <div id="search_blogs_future" class="round_10px"> <form name="searchBlogs" action="/blogs" method="get"> <input type="text" name="BlogSearch" class="text" value="<?php if(empty($_GET['BlogSearch'])) { echo "Search Blogs"; }else{ echo $_GET['BlogSearch'];} ?>" onclick="clearify(this);" /> <input type="submit" name="subBlogSearch" value="Search" /> </form> </div> <div class='<?php if(empty($_GET['cat']) || $_GET['cat'] == "All") { echo "all_blog_cats_Highlighted"; }else{ echo "all_blog_cats_unHighlighted"; } ?> round_10px'> <a href='/blogs/?cat=All'> All </a> </div>Here is a screen shot of the page, as I'm on my dev so I can't provide a link. you can't see the "next" button, but it's there on the bottom, and then the categories are on the right. It has two pages that are served dynamically - the events page and the members page. These are public pages. It has 3 other static pages. I've created the database tables in MYSql. The events page has one table. And the teachers page has a few more - particularly - one primary table for member basics, another for member address. These are one to one with the primary driver being the member basic table since it will also include an active/inactive flag. The 2 files that get used are member credentials, and member specialties. These have one to many relationship with basics table. So far I've been using PHPadmin to create dummy data. But my next step is to create an admin page for the events - where the admin can maintain any event. Then I need to create an admin page for the users. (Further down the line each user will be able to maintain their own events and information.) I was actually hoping to find a code generator to help with these. I know it would be a great learning experience to do them on my own. But I would also like to move a little faster than glacial speed. I'm an RPG programmer by day. So I have programming experience - just new to the web. I've looked at MySQl Table Editor from phpguru. But it used Pear - which I'm not using. And it's not clear to me whether/how it will handle the one to many relationships. I also looked at PhpMyEdit - but it looks like overkill and some of the documentation I've seen recommends that the first column in every table be unique(auto incremented) and I haven't done that with the children tables that have a one to many relationship. And I'm not quite sure why I would do that. Can anyone recommend a tool??? And/or a really good tutorial that includes multiple file being updated at the same time? I'd rather not reinvent the wheel. I apologize for the long first post. I've tried to google - but I actually kind of overwhelmed by the amount of material I find on PHP. Thanks. Vic Hi guys, I need your help. I am trying to insert the rows in the mysql database as I input the values in the url bar which it would be like this: Code: [Select] www.mysite.com/testupdate.php?user=tester&pass=test&user1=tester&email=me@shitmail.com&ip=myisp However i have got a error which i don't know how to fix it. Please can you help? This topic has been moved to PHP Applications. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=354302.0 Hi everyone, I am a beginner web designer and a novice php user. I am a regular forum user and understand that you should always do a search and try to find the answer yourself but I have done that and didn't get any results (or I didn't understand them!). So I ask for some assistance - either you can tell me the code or link me to the correct answer. I am working on a website that I have built a enquiry form for and it has a php script for it. I have managed to get the form running properly and got the reCaptcha working correctly (with a custom error page) but I do not understand how to add custom error pages for incomplete email addresses, empty email addresses, or for a blank form? I tried using the same tactic I used for the reCaptcha error page but it didn't work - probably because I was guessing and just tried it in a bunch of different places. The error msg that displays now is just a plain white page with the msg - Email address is invalid appearing at the top left. While this is suitably functional it doesn't really look like much so I want to build a custom page for each error that could happen. So the code is below - if anyone can point a beginner in the right direction I would be super happy. if you need anymore code or other details just tell me and I will post them up. The url of the form page is http://www.sunsolutionshomeimprovement.com/onlinesales.html This is the code I think you will need - I got it from a demo php script that I have modified. The index page looks like this: <? include("header.php"); ?> <? include("sidebar.php"); ?> <? include("main.php"); ?> <? include("footer.php"); ?> On all of the pages for the site, the only thing that will change will be: <? include("main.php"); ?> When viewing the home page, the title in the browser shows: Home Page (which is what I want). However, when clicking on links in the nav bar, I want the title to reflect those page names. For example, the code above displays the home page, but then if you click on (for example) "Bio's" in the navigation bar, it will take you to the Bio's page, obviously. the link for that menu item is: bio.php. The bio.php page looks like this: <? include("header.php"); ?> <? include("sidebar.php"); ?> <div> All the data and formatting for this page </div> <? include("footer.php"); ?> ............. I would like to put some php code in the header that will automatically detect the title of each page, how can I do this? Should I put <? title=Bio's Page ?> (or whatever page) at the top of each page, then call to it somehow from the header? Any help would be appreciated. this is my code which is using to check login from database calledchklogin.php Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); include('connect.php'); $tbl_name="members"; mysql_select_db($Db, $link); // username and password sent from form $myusername=$_POST['myusername']; $mypassword=$_POST['mypassword']; // To protect MySQL injection (more detail about MySQL injection) $myusername = stripslashes($myusername); $mypassword = stripslashes($mypassword); $myusername = mysql_real_escape_string($myusername); $mypassword = mysql_real_escape_string($mypassword); $mypassword = md5($mypassword); $sql="SELECT * FROM $tbl_name WHERE uname='$myusername' and upass='$mypassword'"; $result=mysql_query($sql,$link); $row=mysql_fetch_array($result); // Mysql_num_row is counting table row $count=mysql_num_rows($result); // If result matched $myusername and $mypassword, table row must be 1 row if($count==1){ // Register $myusername, $mypassword and redirect to file "login_success.php" session_register("username"); //Create the session session_register("myusername"); session_register("mypassword"); $_SESSION['uname'] = "$myusername"; $_SESSION['utype'] = $row['utype']; header("location:loginsuccess.php"); } else { //include ('index.php'); echo ("<script type='text/javascript'> window.alert('Wrong username or password!')</script>"); exit(); } ?> & this code is from another file called loginsuccess.php Code: [Select] <? session_start(); if(!session_is_registered(myusername)){ header("location:index.php"); exit(); } require_once("login-index.php"); ?> so when everything is right in chklogin.php then it open loginsuccess.php after that when all is true then it open login-index.php after that this page open it show double page one is index.php where the login form & another is this login-index.php at one time I have script on my web hosts server built into pages that will be offered to the public, eg: index.php will have some script amongst the html, this script calls other webpages on the net eg: wiki.org Now my question is, when that script runs when somebody accesses that page, will the website eg: wiki.org record the users browser info and ip who called my index page or will it record the webhosts server details as the one making the requests? Hi guys so i want to make page acces to certain ranks. So im thinking for something like this
rank1 -> home.php, admins.php So the ranks are in a database with the page names. So now when someone logs in they will get a certain rank. So now i need to make a function that will check if the rank has access to this page. $curPageName = substr($_SERVER["SCRIPT_NAME"],strrpos($_SERVER["SCRIPT_NAME"],"/")+1); This will detect the current page that the logged in person is at now. But now how do i check if the $_SESSION['rank']; (rank1) has the access to get in page admins.php, and obviously to make $_SESSION['rank'];(rank2) redirect from the page admins.php Could someone point me in the right direction? Do i select the ranks and page names from database then put it into a array? Thanks. |
