PHP - Echo Help, Include Java String
Hi all, how would I write a string like this in an echo statement so the javascript runs?
<a href="javascript:ajaxpage('test.php', 'content');">test</a> Similar Tutorialshi guys i am including a function in my main script, and i'm calling it aftwerwards. except i cannot echo successfully the data in the $result variable, why? function echoResult(){ $result = 'dan'; return $result; } // 1 echo echoResult(); // don't work. i get empty data. // 2 $fnResult = echoResult(); echo $fnResult; // don't work. get empty data. i have ran get_included_files and the include is being made successfully. i read on php.net and these are the examples they use (user comments!) how do i get the data out of the function and echo it, using this way? I need to echo out some string variables in a form. I also want to add some validation for Name, email etc. I think I have the code right or close, but I can an error on the index.php page which is. Hi all - I'm trying to echo $_GET something from the URL, and display a short message to the user if the echo $_GET fails - but I'm new to PHP and the code I've whipped up doesn't work. It always displays the message even if the information is present in the url and the $_GET should work. Here's the code I've got:

Could someone help me crack this issue. I am trying to insert a variable into an flash object echo string's src. I've try many variations but can't figure it out. The below might be a noob question but, I concatenate two spaces in the below string $new_hebrew_date_string = $hebrewMonthName . ' ' . $hebrewDay . I have a situation where I want to use an include within an include and I am having trouble with my file paths. My main header include, includes everything for each page of my site, beyond the opening of the body to incorporate my navigation etc conditionally loading in css, and loading in titles and meta data etc depending on the page in question. This header needs to reference another include called the-pod.php which is required for every page, the only trouble is I want to use / to reference the root of the server and this is breaking my code. I can't use ../../ etc as its a different path depending on where the master file is located. So my question is how do I get around this? Can the root of the server or path to the root be stored in a variable? and if so how would I write this. Any tips / advice will be greatly appreciated. On my index.php i have a menu which includes content in a content div from external .php pages, my structure kinda goes like this.. I would like to have a menu on my products.php site, but that page is already included from above, and i would like the menu on the products.php site to stay as the content from the nested include changes with input from the /products folder. my idea was something like this. site/ index.php content/ frontpage.php products.php contact.php products/ product1.php product2.php the HTML on the index.php is the same as above and then i would add the include() on the products.php page, so its kinda the same thing, but one inside the other. For some reason though, uploads are not going to the correct folder, i.e. the username folder, but instead are going to the parent folder 'songs'. The folder for username exists, with correct permissions, and when I manually enter Code: [Select] $targetFolder = '/songs/nick';all works fine. Which strikes me as rather strange. I have limited experience of using php, but wonder how if the correct string is returned by the session variable, the upload works differently than with the manually entered string. The common part of all the url strings is sobi2Id=, I'm trying to do this with strstr but am having no luck. My issue is that I can't think of a way to edit a XML file using PHP's XML functionality and then assign the edited contents to a string instead of saving the file. Because my issue is that I have to edit the XML file based upon a string brought from a remote location then give it back to that remote location using a string again, to be exact I am doing it via Linux command line utilizing SSH2.
