PHP - Error In Include Is Killing Me, Help Me Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey there everyone. Today isn't my lucky day since I'm dealing with international characters. (Arabic). What happens is the following:

Arabic entered in form > saved to MySQL > Retrieved from MySQL > outputted as XML > used in an application (Google maps if it makes any difference).

Plain and simple, the problem is that the final output is this:

which definetly isn't arabic.

What I've tried so far:
- Loading the Google Maps thing directly from XML which I manually created and put the arabic chars into -> WORKED! (meaning I cut out the saving and retrieval of info from the db to see where the problem may be coming from)
- Set the database collation and charset to utf8_unicode_ci. (Also collation of the fields inside the table) -> NO LUCK!
- Tried encoding all PHP files and html files involved in the process to UTF-8

- Tried a suggestion from Google which said try to execute this query after connection with the db:

First time I get that frustrated. I guess the problem isn't with Gmaps and XML. Something to do with PHP & MySQL because when the raw XML files displays correctly, Gmaps works like a charm. And the only way I got the XML file to show correctly as said earlier was to manually create it and enter the arabic text in it.

I have some OOP code im working on and I have some interactions with the database. However, mysql_fetch_array fails to be working. Have I missed something?

The functions are called later normally, i've only included the necessary parts. Basically I have the var $array_batsmen which stores the mysql_query. This is then later used with a mysql_fetch_array to return names from the earlier query.

But nothing happens! It doesn't return anything (don't worry, I have a return later on). The loop just doesn't seem to work :/

Ok, what I want to happen is, if if($_POST['select'] == 'choose'){ is submitted, the script to display an error and not proccess anything after with the die(); message displayed to the user, but it's not showing the message, and infact when if($_POST['select'] is submitted as another array (I'm sorry, is that the correct term?) it still kills the whole script.

I've check in my db an nothing is updating the tables so I guess die is working to an degree.

I've tried it without the die commands an it works as it should so I know the info does get sent without the die

Hello there   After a few years of spending less and less time coding, I've got a lot of catching up to do. Back when I left I usually would run without classes. Now this is a big deal for me today.   I do understand the concept of classes and already did some working models, mostly from my learning process.   Now here is what is bothering me:

Wether I run this script on itself, nor through another file, this does work. What i get is:   NULL   The constructor does run, I did an echo inside it. Also it does not matter if the variable is public, private or protected - it will be always NULL.   Error_reporting is on E_ALL, does not show any errors.   What have I overlooked?

Im trying to build a website where I use include() to genereate my content. On my index.php i have a menu which includes
content in a content div from external .php pages, my structure kinda goes like this.. (simplified)

site/
   index.php
   content/
       fronpage.php
       products.php
       contact.php

The HTML looks like this.

This all works very fine, but my problem is, can I have a include inside an already included page?
I would like to have a menu on my products.php site, but that page is already included from above,
and i would like the menu on the products.php site to stay as the content from the nested include
changes with input from the /products folder.

my idea was something like this.

site/
   index.php
   content/
      frontpage.php
      products.php
      contact.php
      products/
         product1.php
         product2.php


the HTML on the index.php is the same as above and then i would add the include() on the
products.php page, so its kinda the same thing, but one inside the other.

Still a new comer when it comes to PHP.

I have a situation where I want to use an include within an include and I am having trouble with my file paths.

My main header include, includes everything for each page of my site, beyond the opening of the body to incorporate my navigation etc conditionally loading in css, and loading in titles and meta data etc depending on the page in question.

This header needs to reference another include called the-pod.php which is required for every page, the only trouble is I want to use / to reference the root of the server and this is breaking my code. I can't use ../../ etc as its a different path depending on where the master file is located.

So my question is how do I get around this?

Can the root of the server or path to the root be stored in a variable? and if so how would I write this.

Any tips / advice will be greatly appreciated.

CanI put one INCLUDE statement INSIDE of another INCLUDE statement?

When I put this above all else in my document and test it offline, all I see is code in the browser. But when I test it on my web server, I can view the markup and whatnot.

Does anyone know why this is?

I am a new developer, trying to figure out what causing a memory error. The code goes through registered appointments and depends on the service ID, I have to free a 45 minutes for another service to be booked. Now, once I book an appointment for any of the services that can have 45 minutes free spot, the website takes forever to load the hours but doesn't show them, instead I get this error

Hello all,   Appreciate if you folks could pls. help me understand (and more importantly resolve) this very weird error:     Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ASC, purchase_later_flag ASC, shopper1_buy_flag AS' at line 3' in /var/www/index.php:67 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/index.php(67): PDO->query('SELECT shoplist...') #1 {main} thrown in /var/www/index.php on line 67   Everything seems to work fine when/if I use the following SQL query (which can also be seen commented out in my code towards the end of this post) :

In googling for this error I came across posts that suggested using "ORDER BY FIND_IN_SET()" and "ORDER BY FIELD()"...both of which I tried with no success.   Here's the portion of my code which seems to have a problem, and line # 67 is the 3rd from bottom (third last) statement in the code below:
