PHP - Array From A Form

Hello! 

Consider this scenario:

I'm using an ajax to make the form use only one page

I got a multistep form with step3 being the result of step2, within step3 there is an "add more steps" button which duplicates step2 and step3, this can be done countless times.

to complement this I added array to my input boxes something like this:

unfortunately, I'm not sure how to approach this in the php.
In the step2 going to step3, I would call the brand id and use it in the database to get the results for step3, but now it's array
I added the following lines

$brand = $this->input->post('brand[]');
$this->load->model('MBest');
$q = $this->MBest->getbestmatching($brand[0]);


But the $brand[0] doesn't works and triggers an error.

And come to think of it, if I call a
$brand[0]
index, then everytime a person add a new step, it will always use the id of the first result.

Are there any ideas on how to fix this problem? Thanks

Im creating a simple quiz where some of the questions are checkbox because there is more than one correct answer.  What I would like to be able to do, is run an if statement to check if, say for example, options 1 and 5 out of 6 have been selected, then award the point. However the point is only awarded is both options are selected.

Any suggestions?

I am currently trying to build a site that will allow users to manage a self build house project.  This is my first php MySQL project but I am getting to grips with it ok.

I am currently building this for my own benefit at the moment as I am about to undertake a self build. 

I have a few questions to put to you guys.

This is where I am at the moment

I have a database table named materials which contains a list of materials , quantities, unit of measurement, id.

My site has a user control panel that has separate forms for each stage of the build where the user enters the quantities of the materials, and the data is displayed as an array for each stage.

So, heres question 1.

I want to take the data and use it to generate a form which will be completed by several merchants....

so it will display similar to the array but will be a form with a text box for price where the merchant will insert a price.

i.e

I want to add a text input box form which will allow the merchant to add a price to each item that is added to the array. so there the merchant will be able to give me a price for all the items in my list.  Heres where I get stuck....  as I am constantly adding to the list I have no fixed amount of items so the form for the merchants needs to be built dynamically, ie each time I add a new material, I want the merchants form to get a new input.

I am not very good at describing my problems but I am hoping that someone can help me out from the information given.

Thats the first question.  i like to get issues sorted in small bites. 

the second is the next big bite,  I want to send the form above to several merchants, so I intend to have a user database with a user for each merchant, and link the tables so that each merchant can provide a price for each material, ideally the form would highlight the materials that have not had  a price yet.

I'm looking for advice on the best method of doing this basically but if I can get the first question sorted that would be great..

I have the test site local but can upload it it to the server if it will help you see what im trying to do.

I have a form that is populating fields based on a database query.  I am then trying to update the database based on any changes made in the form and passed through a POST action.

The problem I am having is with the block where I declare short variable names for the $_POST variables that will be passed when the user hits the submit button.  For each variable declaration I get an error message like this:

I have tried testing the $_POST variable using the isset function but it apparently is set but empty. 

What would be a good way to test to see if the user has pressed the submit button before I go into the processing block that is intended to handle those values from the form?

but what my boss wants is when user click on any thumbnail a new window will open with the product image and next and prev button

so that user will navigate search result through new window

Hello everyone I need your assitance a great deal, so I have a form which i submitted to a php file throug ajax and jquery. It is working A ok but I want to be able to submit it with javascript instead, so i don't load any lib. And it is now a problem. The method I use to get the form field names and values in jquery is so simple and dynamic hence if changes are made on the html form i don't have to edit my jquery file to effect the change ie in respect to changing the name of the fields or adding more fields. But I don't know to archieve this using javascript. So i want to post my jquery script, for you all my mighty programmers to assist me get a javascript Clone for me, thank you very much for Helping

Now the above code is just my major focus of the script. What it does is that select the form with an ajax class attribute and run a function after the user submits the form. The var that get reference to the above form throug the (this) reference. Next i use find fuction to look through out the open and close of our form.ajax form for any element that has the name attribute and set it into array using the .each(function (index,value){}) this is my main focus how to ilterate through the form looking for name attribute and set my finding into array using javascript. The next that var reference to the find statement and then we steal the name attribute and value from our findings and set an array called data with the stolen name variable as its index n value attribute as its value. Thank you once more my aim again is with the find and array setting statement.

Hey everyone. I have a project I'm working on and am having some issues. I'm trying to build a web-based FTP program for a client. I have all the ftp stuff down packed, but I'm having issues with connecting to a local computer. I can get the directories an a local disk viewing and changing just fine, my problem is I'm wondering how I might pass each value of the array generated by the scandir() function into a form element value such as a checkbox. The furthest I've been able to get with this is displaying the last object in the array. Here is some code:

here's what i am trying to accomplish, I would get array of name from my db and run a loop to create my form for ie.

is this possible?
when i use playername[] it works but i get 0,1,2 for index but i would like to use keys as my index.

So I got help from here earlier with one problem and a few more have arisen,  the biggest is for some reason my checkbox and dropdown array won't store the data and when it's supposed to check to verify there is at least 1 selected of each nothing happens...

To be honest the ideal thing would be to have it check to see if the drop down size selection below the checkbox was selected, but I'll do whatever as long as it works.
