PHP - Trying To Convert Php Postgresql Functions To Mysql With No Luck!!

Hey guys, I'm new here so please be gentle with me!

I have this php command referencing my postgresql db at present:

It is possible for firstnumber to be greater than secondnumber, but I'd like to limit the array output to 1 - ie to represent that firstnumber is greater than or equal to secondnumber without ever returning a number greater than 1.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for this please?

Hi,  Trying PostgreSQL  for the first time but not making much progress.  Get peer failure when not including a host and Ident error when including a host. Never heard of Ident authentication until today and don't know for sure if I even have such a server running.  Using Centos7, PHP7.4 using remi's repo, and PostgreSQL 12 from their repo.  Any thoughts?  Thanks

Hi I was trying to run an mysql statement in a function and it wasn't working. I'm sure it has something to do with global variables but when I tried running the statement with the connect in the function it still did not work.

I am running MySQL server version --5.1.58-1ubuntu1

basically my code looks like this

The error prints nothing but if I take it out of the function the code works. If I require the database connect in the function, still nothing.. Do I need to pass my connect variables or something? or will this simply not work.

The following returns strings instead of floats.  Am I able to retrieve floats directly from PDO and/or PostgreSQL or must I manually type cast them afterwards using PHP?  Thanks

Hey again, was making a registration form with php and postgresql and  im stuck at making a 'log out' button, i need to make something simple like - press on a link, it redirects u to the index page and if u try to go 'back' it wouldn't let u..

I found something on google like this:

Again, I'm trying to figure out how to make the cart work with using an array for the product instead of MySQL database.
My goal is to remove ALL SQL statements from the scripts but stuck with the looping portion to display the title, author, and price from the array as shown above.

Hello everyone,   I would like to upload an image to a directory and keep it's path saved in mysql. Some people proposed me in the past to save the image directly in mysql but others were totally against it.   Here is my code, remember, it is connecting properly and at the moment what I receive in the "image" row of mysql is "uploads/" but no image name at all.   Don't worry about the form validation as of yet, I am just trying to understand the principle at the moment, I will do the form validation later on.   Thanks in advance for your help.(I did not include the connection file as it is connecting well) The error I am also currently receiving is: Error: SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1048 Column 'image' cannot be null

Explanation:
What I want to do is that I have a user account panel.
When the user log in, I want to call a function to check if the user is banned. If the user is banned then we have returned 1, and display some banned message, followed by the ban reason.
P.S. is it possible to use stored variables inside a function?

When I do this, I connect to another sql server, by first closing the existing connection (if any) and open a new one to execute my statements. Then close that connection and resume the old one.

A while back, I was showed how to authenticate to PostgreSQL using peer authentication over a socket for applications where PHP, FPM, and PostgreSQL are all on the same machine.  All works.

I could use native PHP as shown and it returns results without errors so I know that PHP, FPM, and PostgreSQL is setup correctly to establish a connection using peer authentication without a PostgreSQL username or password.

Now I am trying to do the same but when using Symfony.  I expected I could just edit config/packages/doctrine.yaml as follows, however, it results in An exception occurred in driver: SQLSTATE[08006] [7] fe_sendauth: no password supplied

I have tried a large number of "solutions" to  this but everytime I use them I see 0000-00-00 in my date field instead of  the date even though I echoed and can see that the date looks correct.

Here's where I'm at:
I have a drop down for the month (1-12) and date fields (1-31) as well as a text input field for the year.  Using the POST array, I  have combined them into the xxxx-xx-xx format that I am using in my field as a date field in mysql.

Any help would be extremely appreciated.
I am aware that I need to validate this data and insure  that it is a valid date. That I'm okay with. I would like some help on getting it into the database.

I have a script I am putting together that simulate a cricket game. The only issue is, that there are a huge number of functions because there doesn't seem to be any other way to do this properly. As well as this, there a while() loop and all this seems to be leading to the page reaching a max 30 second timeout when generating the result.

I teaching myself php, but I am coming from java and other compiled languages, so the process has been a little bumpy. I am trying to do something like this:

  function one ()
  {
     $two = two ();

     $three = three ();

     $five = $two + $three;

     return $five;
  }

  function two ()
  {
     $two = 2;

    return $two;
  }
 
  function three ()
  {
     $three = 3;

     return $three;
  }
}


Unfortunately, I keep getting an error message saying that my call to two () is an undefined function. I am gathering from this that the scope of one () is not aware of the existence of two (). Is there a way to get around this so I can call two () and three () from one ()?
