Hello,

Iv written a small script in JS to add input boxes of the type file to the page.. My problem is when i use multiple of those input boxes and submit the form the $_FILES variable only reads 1 of those boxes.. This is the javascript im using:

When i add 2 boxes (making it 3 boxes on the page in total) and count the $_FILES var after submiting the form, the count method returns 1, and when i var_dump it only 1 array is in $_FILES. Any idea's? thanks!

I am trying to put a pilots logbook application together for the members at microlightforum.com and here is the form that I have put together.

What I would like to know is how to code the first "Auto Insert" button so that it takes the time from the variables $takeoff_hr and $takeoff_min and $landing_hr, $landing_min

I would like the time difference from taking off to landing putting in the "ws_captain_hrs" box and the "ws_captain_min" box. Therefore if someone took off at 12.30 and landed at 13.50 the "ws_captain_hrs" box should read "1" and the "ws_captain_min" box should read "20"

The idea behind this is that it makes it easier for the user to only have to insert take off time and landing time, then click the appropriate button to put the data into the box.

The problem is this:

When I choose only one file to upload, it works. I can choose any of the 3 inputs and it works great. But as soon as I try to choose 2 or more files, the form fails to post. When I press submit, the page simply reloads and none of the form variables get posted. I have checked settings in php.ini and tried building and rebuilding this form. I'm hoping someone here can provide some insight into what I'm doing wrong?

I'm making a locally run web based application for entering/storing/editing data.
I am trying to do this thing where I export a 'records.txt' file to a different location which can be selected by the user.
I have a lame <input type='text' value='H:\'> box going on which I was going to use to define the path for the file to be saved, but I want to be able to use a pop up windows (or whatever native OS finder application) just like the one which appears when you use <input type='file'>.

Now that I think about it, I think this is more of a html question, but it's 2.30am and my project is due today...
See! what the hell, I just habitually pressed ctrl-s after working in dreamweaver for hours and the exact function which I am looking for popped up, how do I do that?!

I am building a simple cms. I have a posts table and I have an images table. A post has many images and images has a foreign key to the posts table. So when a user edits, updates, creates, and deletes a post, they affect the images related to the post. Sometimes a post can have more than one image, like three images. Hence I rendered this in the view (note that I am using a datamapper that converts tables to objects and fields to key/value pairs):

The above line of code will render a few input file types. The problem occurs during posting to my update method. It is looking for one parameter from the input file field and so if I upload three different images, it will only look for one and write only one to database:

Firstly, I'm a complete novice, apologies! But I have got my upload.php working which is nice. I will post the code below.

However, I would now like to restrict the file size and file type to only word documents.

I currently have a restriction of 200KB but it's not working - no idea why as I've looked at other similar codes and they look the same.

Also, just to complicate things - can I stop files overwriting each other when uploaded? At the moment, if 2 people upload files with the same name one will overwrite the other.

Is this too many questions in 1?

Basically I want to hide some inputs on my registration page and populate them will default values. Everything works okay, apart from the input below:

When I use the above, the MYSQL database field for seek_location is left empty...

I've noticed that the code below pulls the location into a dropdown list. You know the kind of thing, Australia, UK, USA etc etc:

This is a cross between HTML, PHP, and MySQL. I'm not exactly sure which to blame (other than myself of course)

I'm collecting a bid price in a standard form

I have recalled the value from the database where I store it and display it in the field if it exists. If the field has never been entered, the field shows nothing. It's not required that a bid be entered. There are other fields of data that may be updated and this field is left blank.

On the page called by the submit button I'm retrieving the fields

$maxbid=$_POST[maxbid];

Then I store the fields in the database either with an INSERT or an UPDATE

I know I'm not handling the Numeric values correctly, and I'm having a hard time finding the correct method for doing so. Right now, if the name is entered byt the maxbid is left blank, nothing gets inserted or updated. if I enter both the maxbid and the name it works. I can't have maxbid show up as a 0, I need it to be blank if nothing is entered.

Also when I check $maxbid, it's not an INTEGER (per INTVAL) when I check it, even though maxbid in the table is an INTEGER. When I pass it around, it seems to lose it's INTEGER value, but still shows as a number.

I know this sounds confusing, heck I'm confused. If someone could point me to a good tutorial, I'd figure it all out, but most tutorials don't get into the data type that much, and the combination of the form, passing the variables, reading the values from the database, etc. is what's causing me grief.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I am building an Event Registration system, and am thinking that it should put the Attendee's name on the Ticket (and in the database) as a backup.

Is there a way to easily (and dynamically) display the same number of Text-Boxes as the # of Attendees entered?

For example, let's say the Customer (payor) wants to buy Tickets for herself and 5 friends to a Banjo Festival.

Right now, I just have a drop-down box to capture the head-count, but it would be nice to have 5 Text-Boxes (or something appear) so that the Customer can easily type in the Names of the 5 Attendees *without* having to suffer numerous other clicks and/or screens.

Is there a way to do that?

I am building a membership script for 21 months now!!! That long!!!
Anyway, I need members to say infront of their cams a few things and then upload the vid file to the site (from the confirm_id.php page) where the member's sponsor (recruiter) will get the video copy to check if it's the real person with the real personal details or not. If true details, then sponsor verifies the member account. Else, unverifies it.
Now, I been testing my code. I uploaded an mp4 file. That should be ok but I get echoed:
"There was a problem uploading your video file $file_name! Make sure your file is an MP4 or a WAV file. You may try again now."
Why ?

Help With Php While Loop With Input Text Boxes

I have a script that displays that uses a while loop in php to display all of the records.

For each record, I added an input text box with a button to update one of the fields in the record set.

When I run the script only the first listing will update and the subsequent listings on the page will not update.
Should I go about this set up differently?

How Can I Replace <input> Boxes With Their Values?

Short question: How can I get a string of HTML code and replace all the <input> tags with their values?

Long question: I have a web page with a purchase order on it in HTML format and one or more of the columns is editable via input boxes. So the user can change the quantity/length of the material before submitting it. Once they choose to save it, it sends the string of HTML to a PDF generator (DOMPDF) which converts the HTML to a PDF file and saves it to the server. The user then has a hard copy of the purchase order PDF saved for each job. The problem is DOMPDF doesn't do well with <input> tags, it just leaves them as a blank space. So I want to take that string of HTML and replace all input boxes with their values before sending it to DOMPDF.

Currently I'm using Javascript to do just that when the user clicks to save the modified purchase order. The problem with this is it only works for when the user modifies the purchase order and saves a new modified copy. I need to save a base unmodified copy of it when the page loads so this would strip all the input boxes from the page as soon as it loads and the user would no longer be able to edit anything. So I need something to send the string to DOMPDF when the page loads but not modify what's on the page. Any ideas? Thanks.

So on second site there will be formfields for every dog in every class, created with php. User should be able to take dogname from jquery autocomplete - this works for multiple fields. But i need the according id to the dogname - and actual only one id is given - the first one is changing by choosing from autocomplete in next fields...

I changed in script and form id='dogidindatabase' to class, but it doesn´t work. Testsite is under http://www.wolfdog-d...how.php?lang=de (only german at first) - Insert a number (higher than 1) under baby 3-6 (first box, the others are not working for testing); submit to get to page 2; you see all post-variables (for testing). Try to insert a dogname in first input-field (choose "exc") and insert first one - the id is under dogname. In second dogname inputfield you can choose second dog - the id for the first one changes to id of seond one .... How can i get both for every dog?

Now I am moving over the PHP/MySQL - what precautions should I take to stop a simultaneous processes from writing to a table at the same time.? Do I need to lock the table before writing to it? Does MySQL deal with this automatically and just block my process until the table becomes free?
