PHP - My Select String With Variables Is Not Showing Correct.
Code: [Select] $query = "SELECT content FROM license WHERE serial = '".$serial."'"; Similar TutorialsI am pretty new to PHP and am trying to create a simple (so I assumed) page to takes data from one html page(works fine) and updates a MYSQL Database. I am getting no error message, but the connect string down to the end of the body section is showing up as plain text in my browser window. I do not know how to correct this. I have tried using two different types of connect strings and have verified my names from the HTML page are the same as listed within the php page. Suggestions on what I need to look for to correct would be great. I have looked online, but so far all I am getting is how to connect, or how to create a comment, so I thought I would try here. Hi. I am try to implement a go dynamic google maps feature into my website. If i put a static address into my code it works great. If then I use a variable it all goes wrong. Here is the line Im having trouble with. $address = ' address'; $address = urlencode($address); //so here is the static version that works great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $address = ' 45 chapel road, preston, lancashire, pr4 6rt, uk'; $address = urlencode($address); // and a version that does not work. $address = '$addressL1, $area, $county, $postcode, $country'; $address = urlencode($address); // another that does not work $address = ' {$addressL1}, {$area}, {$county}, {$postcode}, {$country}'; $address = urlencode($address); If I view the source code when i load the page in the browser its obvious why the code is not working. See below. <iframe width="193px" height="160px" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=+%24addressL1%2C+%24area%2C+%24county%2C+%24postcode&aq=0&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=+%24addressL1%2C+%24area%2C+%24county%2C+%24postcode&t=m&ll=,&z=12&iwloc= &output=embed"></iframe> As you can see the variable's are echoing wrong. Can someone please tell me how to write them within the string so they output their actual values. I know they have value as they are also echod on the page else where. I have also tried it with the users for the login system im using and then it doesnt show the person im logged in to or also the first record in the table and i need it too show all the records How do i solve this? I thought it had something to do with: Code: [Select] <?php while ($rij = mysql_fetch_array($result)){ echo ("<tr><td>". $rij['ID'] . " </td> " . "<td>" . $rij['naam'] . " " . $rij['telefoon'] . " </td> " . "<td>" . $rij['adres'] . " </td> " . "<td>" . $rij['mobiel`'] . " </td>". "</td></tr>\n "); } ?> But i dont know how to solve it. Code: [Select] <?php $con = mysql_connect("localhost","root",""); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("root123", $con); $sql= "SELECT * FROM root123 ORDER BY ID;"; $result = mysql_query($sql, $con); $rij = mysql_fetch_array($result); ?> <table width="80%" align="center"> <tr> <th>ID</th> <th width="150px">Naam</th> <th>Gebruikersnaam</th> <th width="300px">Wachtwoord</th> </tr> <?php while ($rij = mysql_fetch_array($result)){ echo ("<tr><td>". $rij['ID'] . Any help would be appreciated. Edited May 21 by Ponel I am writing a CRON job that will execute daily. First it will identify from a MySql table the date in a field 'FAPforSale_repost35' If the date is the today date it will then execute commands to delete photo images in a directory, delete the directory, and finally remove the record from the database.
I am on step one which is to build the array of records that match the days date. When I run the code, there are no errors but I am not getting results even though the records in the test table are set for today. Below is the select

My mind has gone blank and im having one of those days, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks I have the following code which has deliimiters of |||| and I need to break it apart into three strings and have a variable assigned to each string. I dont know what they are yet and i need to set key as value. Any help? I have a string that looks like /index.php?g1=111&g2=222&g3=333. How can I obtain the value of g1 (i.e. 111)? It does not represent the current state of the server thus I cannot just use $_GET. It also is not necessarily the first item. The script below appears to work, however, http://php.net/manua...n.parse-url.php states This function is intended specifically for the purpose of parsing URLs and not URIs. However, to comply with PHP's backwards compatibility requirements it makes an exception for the file:// scheme where triple slashes (file:///...) are allowed. For any other scheme this is invalid. It appears that my string is a URI and not a URL, but I might be wrong. How should this be accomplished <?php $str='/index.php?g1=111&g2=222&g3=333'; $array=parse_url($str); parse_str($array['query'],$get); echo("<p>{$get['g1']}</p>"); ?> Pretty simple I would think but I'm unsure on the syntax. I have a variable, $ename. It's actually data from a form that I pass to said variable. What I want is to then in turn use this string in a mkdir() function. Something like Code: [Select] mkdir("dir/folder/$ename/"); Obviously that doesn't work. I'd imagine I have to use some sort of . syntax. I need to echo out some string variables in a form. I also want to add some validation for Name, email etc. I think I have the code right or close, but I can an error on the index.php page which is.
