PHP - Trying To Require A File In A Laterally Located Directory Using Relative Paths
I was under the impression this was a simple thing to do and I'm fairly certain I've done it before, but it isn't working for some reason.
Under the root directory of my project I have two subfolders called "inc" and "lib". lib contains third-party scripts for use in my project. The one in question is phpmailer (lib/class.phpmailer.php). Now, in inc I have a file that needs to include PHPMailer. Inside my script in inc I have this: require_once('../lib/class.phpmailer.php'); It errors out saying it can't find it. I thought that was supposed to go down one directory then back up into lib. The file does indeed exist. What am I doing wrong? This seems like a stupidly simple thing... Similar TutorialsI have a directory in public WWW. The files throughout the directory have many PHP includes amongst themselves. For example, the file "registration.php" begins with require('../parameters.php'); The directory is complex, like this:
/Public WWW directory/ How would I do that without breaking all the include paths? (I know the solution is probably a one-liner involving __DIR__ ... but I can't seem to code it so it works). Thank you!!
well good moring dear folks - hope you are all right and everythings is fine across the atlantic today i have a question regarding server-paths - and the absolute and relative in a linux-[opensuse 11.4] lampp-system well i just installed something in to my Lampp on openSuse 11.4 while setting up this application - (it is a joomla 1.7.3 ) i wonder how i name the paths public $unicodeslugs = '0'; public $feed_limit = '10'; public $log_path = 'D:\\Xammp\\xampp\\htdocs\\pre1/logs'; public $tmp_path = 'D:\\Xammp\\xampp\\htdocs\\pre1/tmp'; public $lifetime = '15'; public $session_handler = 'database'; what cou you thinks how shoud i name the paths well you see above this was a windows box where the pahts originally were taken from love to hear from you Hey all, I've been having an issue with require_once from another sub-directory. Origionally I had all my php files in the same spot but I wanted to make a library to clean things up a bit. Atm I am trying to access my /subFolder/frame_work/sql/dbconnect.rem.php with require once from /subFolder/frame_work/account_data/accountHandler.rem.php. I have looked around a little bit and i know requires\includes looks in relative directorys. So one obvious solution would be to include the entire path name. "var/www/subFolder/frame_work/sql/dbconnect.rem.php". My problem is I will be accessing this from multiple directories and on localhost the root directory is var opposed to my server which is public_html. I like to edit my stuff in localhost before going public with it and it is going to be a real pain if I have to keep switching var to public_html in every file before I upload. Is there any other solutions I could approach? Any responses would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time. is there a way to do an include or require to a whole directory? I have only done includes and requires with single files in the past, but have a situation where this could save me a lot of time. hello, i cant see why my navigation file path is not working im working on my localhost: http://localhost:8888/djsonrotation my initialize file is located at http://localhost:8888/djsonrotation/includes/initialize.php my navigation code is located at http://localhost:8888/djsonrotation/pages/pageContent/navigation/ddAccordion.php my js is located at http://localhost:8888/djsonrotation/js/ddaccordion.js if i put these on my ddAccordion.php it works Code: [Select] to find my initialize file <?PHP require_once("../../../includes/initialize.php"); ?> to find my js file <script type="text/javascript" src="../../../js/ddaccordion.js"> this is how my initialize file looks Code: [Select] <?PHP defined('DS') ? null : define('DS', DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR); defined('SITE_DOMAIN') ? null : define('SITE_DOMAIN', 'http://localhost/djsonrotation'); defined('SITE_ROOT') ? null : define('SITE_ROOT', $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].DS.'djsonrotation'); defined('LIB_PATH') ? null : define('LIB_PATH', SITE_ROOT.DS.'includes'); defined('ELEMENTS') ? null : define('ELEMENTS', $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].DS.'djsonrotation'.DS.'pages'.DS.'contElements'); the problem is i can't seem to change ../../../ in to a file path like this does not work Code: [Select] <?PHP require_once(include(LIB_PATH.DS."initialize.php")); ?> i tried a couple of different file paths for my js file but they dont work either Code: [Select] <script type="text/javascript" src="<?php include(SITE_DOMAIN.DS."js".DS."ddaccordion.js"); ?>"> or Code: [Select] <script type="text/javascript" src="<?php include(SITE_ROOT.DS."js".DS."ddaccordion.js"); ?>"> i guess i could just use ../../../ but why are the include paths not working ???? thanks I have a form that lets a user upload an image, aswell as another file. I want the image to go into the images directory, and the pdf file to go into the PDF directory once uploaded. The names of the files will then be uploaded to the database. At the moment I can get the image to upload to the database and directory, but the PDF is only uploading the name to the database, it is not going into the PDF directory aswell. I'm not sure if there is a way you can do this, I am trying to use "move_uploaded_file()" to physically move the files but not sure if you can use it twice. here is my code, if you can point anything out or where im going wrong that would be great. <?php include "include/conn.php"; include "include/session.php"; ?> <?php // Check to see if the type of file uploaded is a valid image type function is_valid_type($file) { $valid_types = array("image/jpg", "image/jpeg", "image/bmp", "image/gif"); if (in_array($file['type'], $valid_types)) return 1; return 0; } function showContents($array) { echo "<pre>"; print_r($array); echo "</pre>"; } //Target path for image $TARGET_PATH = dirname(__FILE__) . "/images/"; //Target path for PDF files $PDF_TARGET_PATH = dirname(_FILE_) . "/PDF/"; // Get POST variables $image = $_FILES['image']; $pdf = $_FILES['pdf']; $date= date("Y-m-d "); $time = date("H:i:s"); $title = $_POST['title']; $title_escape = mysql_escape_string($title); $title_slashes = stripslashes($title_escape); $content = $_POST['content']; $image['name'] = mysql_real_escape_string($image['name']); $pdf['name'] = mysql_real_escape_string($pdf['name']); //image path $TARGET_PATH .= $image['name']; //PDF path $PDF_TARGET_PATH .= $pdf['file_name']; // Make sure all the fields from the form have inputs if ($image['name'] == "" ) { $_SESSION['error'] = "All fields are required"; header("Location: add_media.php"); exit; } // Verify file is an image if (!is_valid_type($image)) { $_SESSION['error'] = "You must upload a jpeg, gif, or bmp"; header("Location: add_media.php"); exit; } // move file into the directory and the path name into the database / along with the rest of the form fields if (move_uploaded_file($image['tmp_name'], $TARGET_PATH)) { if(move_uploaded_file($pdf['tmp_name'], $PDF_TARGET_PATH)) { $sql = "INSERT INTO media_table(title, text, time, date, image, PDF) VALUES ('" . $title_slashes . "','" . $content . "', '" . $time . "', '" . $date . "', '" . $image['name'] . "', '" . $pdf['name'] . "')"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die (mysql_error()); header("Location: add_media.php"); exit; } else { print "did not upload"; } } else { $_SESSION['error'] = "Could not upload file. Check read/write persmissions on the directory"; exit; } ?> Hello. The title is a little confusing, but: What I am trying to do is build a simple CMS where all requests are routed through the root index.php file. This file will be where all constants are defined and importantly where the database connection is estabilished. There will be a folder where template files will reside and, based on the URI, a template file will be included into the root index.php file. Here's some code: Code: [Select] <?php //Sets the database connection and defines some constants require ( "includes/config.php" ); //Where I will place the core functions of the CMS, one being the navigation builder require ( "includes/functions.php" ); //Home page template file require ( "views/cms/index.php" ); ?> So as you can see, I want to be able to call the navigation builder function, called "getMenuItems();", from the home page template. However, I get the following error: Code: [Select] Fatal error: Call to undefined function getMenuItems() in C:\wamp\www\cms\views\cms\index.php on line 3 How can I access functions that have been defined in the "includes/functions.php" file, from the required template file "views/cms/index.php"? If you need anything else explaining then please ask. If this has already been posted, I apologise in advance! I have searched Google and the forums but nothing turned up. Chris my directory on my mamp server looks like this; root/website/index.php I also have some files in a folder like this root/website/pages/files.php My include code is this include("functions.php"); When I try to include a file from the 'website' folder from a page in the 'pages' folder. It gives me errors that look like this. Warning: include(functions.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /website/pages/contact.php on line 2 Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening 'functions.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/Applications/MAMP/bin/php5.3/lib/php') in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/website/pages/contact.php on line 2 That's what it looks like.. I can't get it working. trying to use a require but not working properly Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'get_extra.php?id=1' (include_path='.') first thing set on page is.. page is profile.php?id=1 $userid = $_GET['id']; code is:require "get_extra.php?id=$userid"; what can i do to fix this? thanks I havent included the whole title as it wouldnt let me but I was wondering if someone could help me on this? I know this is possible as torrentflux caters for this but unsure of where to start. I dont want to allow file or directory uploads or creation in my /etc/php.ini file (this is turned off). Yet then torrentflux allows me to link a torrent from an external source (using legal downloads of course ) but then it uploads it on my server and creates folders on a per user basis. How is this possible can someone give me some pointers please? I look forward to any replies, Jeremy. Given a directory - folder1/subfolder1, I would like to loop through all subdirectories under the given directory and return the file path relative to the given directory. Example: Code: [Select] Given Directory FolderA FolderB SubFolderA SubFolderB SubSubFolderA File1 FolderC the file path for File1 should be FolderB/SubFolderB/SubSubFolderA/ Any ideas? Why does this code: Code: [Select] require_once "../../media/php/classes/Mysql.inc.php"; Work when I go to: http://mysite.com/API/v1/index.php But when I go to: http://mysite.com/index.php it doesn't work. The require is being called from another class, which I call from the two pages above. The class loads, but in the second link, I get failed to open stream: No such file or directory but the first one works fine. What would cause this? could this be an htaccess thing? htaccess: Code: [Select] Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php -f RewriteRule ^(.+)$ /$1.php [L,QSA] In my script, I'm trying to create a file with the name of a variable in a different directory. My code is: Code: [Select] $handle = fopen("cheese/" . $page . ".html", "w");Output: Warning: fopen(cheese/test.html) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/a5938041/public_html/newfile/newpage.php on line 6 What's happening here? (sorry I'm a total noob.) I'm in the middle of making my own CMS system, where a user can create a page online via a text editor, I know how to create and save the file, but to make the process easier I would like to a function where a user can click a button find a list of files and folders, pick the folder location to save a new file to. Instead of having to type something like this /commonPages/aboutUs/ with the file name being test.php What would be the easiest way to do this? I have just been looking at opendir() and my first thought was to use <input type="file" />, but then I remember that was only for inputting a particular file name, which would be useful for renaming a file at a later date. For example, if we wanted to change test.php to something more meaningful ie history.php Hi,
I have this code
<?php // Must include this include("geoiploc.php"); function getYJLINKS($default_font_family,$yj_copyrightear,$yj_templatename,$show_tools,$show_fres,$show_rtlc,$validators_off,$totop_off){ $allLinks = array(); if((function_exists('toolbox_urls') && $show_tools == 1) || $validators_off == 1 || $totop_off == 1){ echo '<div class="validators">'; if($validators_off == 1){ $allLinks[] ='<a href="http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/check/referer?profile=css3" target="_blank" title="CSS Validity">CSS Valid</a>'; $allLinks[] ='<a href="http://validator.w3.org/check/referer" target="_blank" title="XHTML Validity">XHTML Valid</a>'; } if($totop_off == 1){ $allLinks[] ='<a class="yjscroll" href="#stylef'.$default_font_family.'">Top</a>'; } if (function_exists('toolbox_urls') && $show_tools == 1): global $font_size; global $font_direction; if ($show_fres == 1): $allLinks[] = '<a id="fontSizePlus" class="fs" href="javascript:;" rel="nofollow">+</a>'; $allLinks[] = '<a id="fontSizeMinus" class="fs" href="javascript:;" rel="nofollow">-</a>'; $allLinks[] = '<a id="fontSizeReset" class="fs" href="javascript:;" rel="nofollow">reset</a>'; endif; if ($show_rtlc == 1): $allLinks[] = '<a class="tdir" href="'.$font_direction[1].'" rel="nofollow">RTL</a>'; $allLinks[] = '<a class="tdir" href="'.$font_direction[2].'" rel="nofollow">LTR</a>'; endif; endif; echo implode(' | ',$allLinks); echo '</div>'; } // loading this from a database $ip = $_SERVER["REMOTE_ADDR"]; // listing Country Flags Images $dir = 'images/flags'; $file_display = array('png'); if (file_exists ($dir) == false) { echo 'Directory \'', $dir, '\' not found!'; } else{ $dir_contents = scandir($dir); foreach($dir_contents as $file) { $file_type = strtolower(end(explode('.', $file))); If($file !== '.' && $file !== '..' && in_array($file_type, $file_display) == true) if($file == '..' || $file == '.') { continue; } $code = strtolower(getCountryFromIP($ip, "code")); echo '<div class="yjsgcp">Palana.it ® 1994 - '.$yj_copyrightear.' :: Tutti i diritti riservati :: Realizzazione Palana.it ││ Utente rilevato: IP: '. $ip . '; echo '<img src="', $dir, '/', $code, '.png" /> </div>'; } } } ?>The problem, as we see (http://www.palana.it), is that code printed the Italian flag but many times there are images in the directory, that is over 204. See bottom of the page. How can I fix the code to get ONE display? hey guys im tyring to read my directory (whole of the web server)...i want to be able to put the file name and root into an array...im just wanting to know whats the best function i need to do this please?...thank you Hey, I dont know whats wrong but i was hoping someone could take a look at the code and provide some errors that maybe causing this script not to work. I want it to display all the .jpg pictures in thumbnails, it currently does not even get the pictures. code: <?php $pic_listing = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM toplist WHERE id='". $id ."'") or die(mysql_error()); while($serverpic = mysql_fetch_array($pic_listing)) { $servername = $serverpic["servername"]; } $directory = "images/serverpic/" . $servername . ""; $images = glob("" . $directory . "*.jpg"); if(empty($images)) { ?> <div class="highslide-gallery"> <?php foreach($images as $image) { ?> <a href="images/serverpic/<?php echo $servername . "/" . $image; ?>" class="highslide" onclick="return hs.expand(this)"> <img src="images/serverpic/<?php echo $servername . "/" . $image; ?>" alt="Highslide JS" width="100" height="100" title="Click to enlarge" /> </a> <div class="highslide-caption"> <?php } ?> </div> </div> <?php } ?> $file="../myclients/clients/".$company_name."/Download/".$file_name; $size = filesize($path); // not working i try with function also function formatbytes($file, $type) { switch($type){ case "KB": $filesize = filesize($file) * .0009765625; // bytes to KB break; case "MB": $filesize = (filesize($file) * .0009765625) * .0009765625; // bytes to MB break; case "GB": $filesize = ((filesize($file) * .0009765625) * .0009765625) * .0009765625; // bytes to GB break; } if($filesize <= 0){ return $filesize = 'unknown file size';} else{return round($filesize, 2).' '.$type;} } echo formatbytes($file, "KB"); uploaded file size is 488 kb but it showing "unknown file size" please help me. file_get_contents() has suddenly stopped working for me. I keep getting this error: Code: [Select] Warning: file_get_contents(/Users/ttocskcaj/MineCMS/public/js/jquery.js ) [<a href='function.file-get-contents'>function.file-get-contents</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /Users/ttocskcaj/MineCMS/controllers/m.controller.php on line 44 The file(s) definitely exist, I can use nano to open them, and permissions are 777 on all the files. The lampp error log has nothing. Not even a No such file or directory error as you'd expect. Any ideas what's going on? After a user on my site deletes their account I want their profile picture to be deleted from my images folder. I was testing the unlink function on my index.php file and it is failing. Here is the error: Warning: unlink(/assets/img/avatars/users/jasongordon.png): No such file or directory in /home/www-data/big.com/index.php on line 86 My code was just: unlink('/assets/img/avatars/users/jasongordon.png'); I'm not sure why this fails because my file does exist. |
