PHP - Search For Number Lost In Array
Hi!
I need a little bit coding help here. I have a table: Numbers, Active Under numbers can be 10000, 10001, 10002, 10003, 10004, 10005 and active can be 1 or 0, depends on is this row active or not. Now, i need to check, is there any numbers lost, i mean, (for example) in table i have numbers 10002, 10000 and 10005 Can somebody make script, what finds those lost numbers, in this case those a 10001, 10003 and 10004. All the best: Mart Similar Tutorialshttp://content.screencast.com/users/DeviousDan/folders/Jing/media/a563187c-93fe-4ec7-b496-41e50554b639/2011-01-02_2220.png As you can see, I print_r the results array and it has a key of aim, I then try to access the aim value on line 44 and as you can see, it's an undefined Index. I've officially forgotten all basics of PHP, any fresh eyes wanna give some insight? Thanks. Well, In my DB i have user items as follows: Code: [Select] 13,12,11,9,27,15,16,22,21,23,24,26,29,30,31,32,33 Each ID is a user item that has been imploded to be sent to the DB. Well, I', trying to take them out of the DB now, and I'm having a small problem turning them back into integers. Here's what I've done. Code: [Select] $items = explode(",", $row['user_item_id']);So I get: Code: [Select] 0 => string '13' (length=2) 1 => string '12' (length=2) 2 => string '11' (length=2) 3 => string '9' (length=1) 4 => string '27' (length=2) 5 => string '15' (length=2) 6 => string '16' (length=2) 7 => string '22' (length=2) 8 => string '21' (length=2) 9 => string '23' (length=2) 10 => string '24' (length=2) 11 => string '26' (length=2) 12 => string '29' (length=2) 13 => string '30' (length=2) 14 => string '31' (length=2) 15 => string '32' (length=2) 16 => string '33' (length=2) Then I do this: Code: [Select] foreach($items as $item){ var_dump($item); $sql = 'SELECT * FROM `MYTABLE` WHERE item_tab = '.$tab_id.' AND item_id = '.$item.' AND item_pose =0'; } and get this: Code: [Select] string '13' (length=2) string '12' (length=2) string '11' (length=2) string '9' (length=1) string '27' (length=2) string '15' (length=2) string '16' (length=2) string '22' (length=2) string '21' (length=2) string '23' (length=2) string '24' (length=2) string '26' (length=2) string '29' (length=2) string '30' (length=2) string '31' (length=2) string '32' (length=2) string '33' (length=2) Now, this works how I want it to except, I want a integer value not a string. What would be the best way to approach this? Hey forum! I am currently developing a number search and I need some help creating a way to show similar results... For example if someone searches "2009" and there is no result for "2009" is there a way for me to query the database with "2007", "2008", "2010", "2011", etc. until I find a result? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello, I had 8 select boxes(dropdowns) in a form. Its like a search kind of implementation in the website. I don't know what the user selects, he may choose different select boxes, any number of select boxes. So, based upon the user selection, I need to generate the data. The data fields to be generated would be almost same. So, How would I know what the user selection is and how many select boxes has been selected and how could I generate different data based upon selected boxes. I had to make a small note abt this, that the data generation fields may change for some of the user select combinations, but most of the result fields would be same. so, can you please help me out, how to do, how to make different combination data generations, because, i had 8 fields, i had to make 8! combinations, that would result in a big code. I'm getting the dreaded " Invalid parameter number: number of bound variables does not match number of tokens" error and I've looked at this for days. Here is what my table looks like:
| id | int(4) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | user_id | int(4) | NO | | NULL | | | recipient | varchar(30) | NO | | NULL | | | subject | varchar(25) | YES | | NULL | | | cc_email | varchar(30) | YES | | NULL | | | reply | varchar(20) | YES | | NULL | | | location | varchar(50) | YES | | NULL | | | stationery | varchar(40) | YES | | NULL | | | ink_color | varchar(12) | YES | | NULL | | | fontchosen | varchar(30) | YES | | NULL | | | message | varchar(500) | NO | | NULL | | | attachment | varchar(40) | YES | | NULL | | | messageDate | datetime | YES | | NULL |Here are my params: $params = array( ':user_id' => $userid, ':recipient' => $this->message_vars['recipient'], ':subject' => $this->message_vars['subject'], ':cc_email' => $this->message_vars['cc_email'], ':reply' => $this->message_vars['reply'], ':location' => $this->message_vars['location'], ':stationery' => $this->message_vars['stationery'], ':ink_color' => $this->message_vars['ink_color'], ':fontchosen' => $this->message_vars['fontchosen'], ':message' => $messageInput, ':attachment' => $this->message_vars['attachment'], ':messageDate' => $date );Here is my sql: $sql = "INSERT INTO messages (user_id,recipient, subject, cc_email, reply, location,stationery, ink_color, fontchosen, message,attachment) VALUES( $userid, :recipient, :subject, :cc_email, :reply, :location, :stationery, :ink_color, :fontchosen, $messageInput, :attachment, $date);"; And lastly, here is how I am calling it: $dbh = parent::$dbh; $dbh->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_WARNING); if (empty($dbh)) return false; $stmt = $dbh->prepare($sql); $stmt->execute($params) or die(print_r($stmt->errorInfo(), true)); if (!$stmt) { print_r($dbh->errorInfo()); }I know my userid is valid and and the date is set above (I've echo'd these out to make sure). Since the id is auto_increment, I do not put that in my sql (though I've tried that too), nor in my params (tried that too). What am I missing? I feel certain it is something small, but I have spent days checking commas, semi-colons and spelling. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? I have these numbers in an array: 14042 11130 10100 10100 9506 How can I add them all together? Was thinking about a while loop. Derp. >array_sum solved! Hey folks! Happy what ever you are celebrating I am trying to limit the number of characters to 200 that this array echos. I have tried a few things... I have tried using "substr($arr_tem, 0, 200)" but obviously it is not working... but I think I am close-ish. Any assistance would be great! Code: [Select] ###print array### echo (implode(", ", array_keys($arr_tem))); Thanks! Hello, i retrieve an array from the database that looks something like this: $var=a:1:{s:2:"cc";a:1:{i:22;s:11:"TESTING";}}; I need to retrieve the number corresponding to the character i: and print it(11 in the first case). For example , If, $var=a:1:{s:2:"cc";a:1:{i:15;s:11:"TESTING";}}; I would need to print 15. $var=a:1:{s:2:"cc";a:1:{i:3;s:11:"TESTING";}}; I would need to print 3. Thanks in advance. I have build a small form that take the zip code that user enter and if is on my list will redirect to a sub domain craigslist.
I was checking all the zip codes and is pretty hard to know to what bigger city to attribute the given zip code and for that I was thinking to a simple idea to use, I am not sure how much exact will be but I think will do the trick for the moment.
The zip code range start from 00501 to 99950.
I create a array with the biggest city shown in craigslist and the zip code that correspond.
Now the tricky part, what I will do with the rest of the zip codes and my idea is to measure the distance from one to another zip code and which zip code from the array is closer from given one to take it.
<?php $zip = $_GET['zip']; $z = array ( 36830 => array ( 'auburn.craigslist.org' ), 35242 => array ( 'bham.craigslist.org' ), 36301 => array ( 'dothan.craigslist.org' ), 35630 => array ( 'shoals.craigslist.org' ), 35901 => array ( 'gadsden.craigslist.org' ) ?> Exemple: $zip= 36870 // the code received from the user 36870 - $array= ( 'auburn.craigslist.org' ), (36830 = 40) (36301 = 569) (36911 = -41) // the minus will be excluded (....etc)After checking the zip code with the ones from array, the smaller score will attribute the sub-domain correspond from the array. I hope will don t be the case when will get the same result from two zip codes:) Now I am using this rule: $zip0 = (isset($z[$zip][0]) && $z[$zip][0] != '') ? $z[$zip][0] : 'craigslist.org/about/sites#US';and I was thinking to redirect the user for a page to enter the state and the city. But I wish to make it more precises and not to involved the user so much. But if there are any other suggestions I will be glad to hear them. Good morning! I have a two dimensional array, basically a table (see code below). I want to get a value from the array using two methods: 1) Using the row's key: $NewValue = $MyArray[$UniqueKey]; 2) Using the row's index (row number, so to speak): $NewValue = $MyArray[$RowNumber]; The second print statement in the code below does not work. Both print statements should output the same value. Is there an easy way to do this? The table has hundreds of rows and I will not know the key value of row 879 nor can I generate it. So I cannot use array_keys(). And I DO NOT want to start at the first row and count up to the 879th row. Any clever ideas to share and enlighten? Thanks! <?php // Initialize the array keys and values $MyArray = array(); $MyArray['first']['col1'] = 'abc'; $MyArray['first']['col2'] = 'def'; $MyArray['first']['col3'] = 'ghi'; $MyArray['second']['col1'] = 'jkl'; $MyArray['second']['col2'] = 'mno'; $MyArray['second']['col3'] = 'pqr'; $MyArray['third']['col1'] = 'stu'; $MyArray['third']['col2'] = 'vwx'; $MyArray['third']['col3'] = 'yz'; $MyArray['fourth']['col1'] = 'a1a'; $MyArray['fourth']['col2'] = 'b2b'; $MyArray['fourth']['col3'] = 'c3c'; $MyArray['fifth']['col1'] = 'ddd'; $MyArray['fifth']['col2'] = 'eee'; $MyArray['fifth']['col3'] = 'fff'; // Two methods to get a value. Second one does nothing. print"{$MyArray['third']['col2']}</br>"; print"{$MyArray[2]['col2']}</br>"; ?> I'm new at PHP and have a problem. I have a MySql database with lists of students grouped into classrooms. A typical group is shown in the attached screenshot screenshot.docx. I want to be able to select one or more of the names by using the associated checkbox, and upgrade a student or students into a different group as defined in the radio button list also in the screenshot. I have the rudiments of the file attached, but I have absolutely no idea how I can post the array so that the records are updated. Each student has an individual record with a field name userGroup which holds a string nominated by their classroom teacher, such as "year7", "year 8" and so on while they are in one of the several classrooms, but when they leave school this is recorded in a field named noGroup with a value of 0 or 1. I can post further details as required, but it would be great if someone could help me. i HAVE FOLLOWING VALUES IN FEED TABLE
a1a a1b a1c a1d ......
7 8 7 7
8 9 8 8
9 7 7 8
7 8 10 9
6 4 6 7
7 8 8 5
9 7 7 6
This in an array ( select a1a,a1b,a1c,a1d from feed where .....)
1) I want to know how many times each values has occured in the array ( eg: 7 occured 10 times, 8 occured 8 times)
2) How many 7's, 8's, 9's are there in a1a, howmany .....in a1b
Number of times each values occured OVERALL in array as well as also under each head
Please help
Hi folks, i have a complex problem (for me anyway) but i am sure with your help this can be sorted. Problem number 1: I have a simple while loop, but its only showing 4 results when i know there are 5 I am missing something very simple i know: $sql = ("SELECT * FROM postcode WHERE unid='1'")or die ('<p>There seems to be a problem, please try again soon.</p>'); $result = mysql_query($sql,$con); $row = @mysql_fetch_array($result); $i=0; while ($row = @mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ echo "newpoints[". $i++ ."] = new Array({$row['lat']}, {$row['long']}, icon0, '{$row['postcodename']}', '{$row['postcodename']}'); \n"; } What am i missing here? Problem number 2: I have a bunch of latitude and longitude codes stored in the database. On each page there will be a varied amount of these codes used, but with a max of 20. I need to find the highest number and the lowest number of each lat and long then come up with a code that is in the middle, the idea of this is to center a map. So for example there will be an array like this: 50.852293 -1.76088 51.252938 -0.76128 51.259583 -0.727168 51.274 -0.837 51.123106 -0.970657 First i need to find the highest number of the first code (51.274) then the lowest number (50.852293) and then the highest number of the second code (-1.76088) then the lowest number (-0.727168) Then work out an inbetween code using the highest and lowest codes for each. Does anyone have a clue how to go about this? I am not the worlds best array technition or mathematician Hi Guys! Trying to display data in 3 rows horizontally and 25 vertiacally Code: [Select] // Print out result while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)){ echo "There are ". $row['COUNT(biddersId)'] ." bidders logged."; echo "<br />"; } $query = "SELECT * FROM bidders ORDER BY biddersId"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); echo "<table border='1'>"; echo "<tr> <th>Bidders</th>"; // keeps getting the next row until there are no more to get while($row = mysql_fetch_array( $result )) { // Print out the contents of each row into a table echo "<tr><td>"; echo"<font face= \"calibri\" size=\"3\">"; echo $row['biddersId']; echo "</br>"; echo "</td><td>"; } echo "</table>"; ?> Hi guys I'm kinda stuck..so hopefully you guys can lend me a hand I've got an array containing date elements ("Y-m-d")... I'm trying to output some data into googlecharts..so i need to count how many elements that are in the array with todays date -1 day, todays date-2 days...todays date -3days etc... Up until a set number of days (for example 7 days, 14 days etc).. Any advice on how to go about to achieve this? Please help me. I'm fairly new to php and have been looking for answers on Goog for about two weeks or so with not an answer. This is my first post on a forum of any type. I have a form on a php page that when submitted sends a value to a confirm php page Code: [Select] <form action='buyconfirmorder.php' method='post'> Purchase: <input type='text' name='ask_shares'><br /><br /> You Will Pay:  <input type='text' name='ask'><br /><br /> <input type='hidden' name='postcardname' value='$postcardname'> <input type='submit' name='submit' value='Order'> </form> I need to take the users input from the form and subtract each row from a mysql DB one at a time until the users input is down to a remainder and then I need the remainder (I'll be working with the remainder as well). Code: [Select] $query = mysql_query(" SELECT * FROM ask, search WHERE search.id = ask.card_search_id AND search.card_name = '$postcardname' ORDER BY ask_price ASC"); The array will be numbers only. So an example would be: User input from the form is 100.00 Code: [Select] while($rows = mysql_fetch_array($query)) { $ask_price = $rows['ask_price']; } Let's say the array is 50.50, 40.50, 35.00 I need some code to do: 100.00 - 50.50 = 49.50 49.50 - 40.50 = 9.00 9.00 - 35.00 = <0 does not do anything so remainder = 9.00 would it be something like Code: [Select] $new_ask_shares = $_POST['ask_shares']; //some sort of a loop or array or combo of both ($new_ask_shares - $ask_price); the numbers are just an example as the actual numbers will be different each time I query my DB. Thanks in advance I have an array I would like to search that is being built from a data base as follows $result = mysql_query("SELECT id_one, id_two FROM accounts LIMIT 60"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_NUM)) { printf("ID_ONE: %s ID_TWO: %s", $row[0], $row[1]); echo "<br>"; } What I would like to do is after the array is created echo out a certain row from that array. Soi if the array looks like this key id_one id_two 1 458 444 2 468 455 3 467 466 I can search the array for 468 and it would return 455 Thanks I will be posting back if I find any new information my self. Hi guys I have an php array like below // array $array_odds = array( "1.10" => "1/10", "1.11" => "1/9", "1.12" => "1/8", "1.14" => "1/7" ); // using the array echo $array_odds ['1.11']; // will echo in 1/9 As we can see in the array there is no 1.13, Is there a way I can pass it 1.13, and it gets me the closest fraction so if I passed it 1.13 it would return the fraction 1 lower which is 1.12 > 1/8 Thanks guys Whats the most efficient way of searching within a multi dimensional array? My Array = Array ( => Array ( => Item 1 [title] => Item 1 [1] => 2012-03-21 [eventDate] => 2012-03-21 [2] => 21 [eventDay] => 21 ) [1] => Array ( => Item 2 [title] => Item 2 [1] => 2012-03-21 [eventDate] => 2012-03-21 [2] => 21 [eventDay] => 21 ) ) String to find = '21' If (MY ARRAY contains STRING TO FIND) {} Clearly in this case there are several '21' (s) so if I only wanted to search the [eventDay] keys...would there be a fast effective and efficient manner? Thoughts and help gratefully received. Will |
