PHP - Google Directory
Hi Guys!!
I am in need of creating a categories' listing similar to that of Google Directory, http://www.google.com/dirhp All the categories along with their respective sub categories, subcategories of the subcategories, and the subsub categories of the subsub categories ( as deep down as the category system goes ) should be displayed which is exactly similar to that of the Google Directory. Could anyone suggest me how to do it as am pretty much new to PHP. The categories list is stored in a database and should be displayed using PHP and MySQL. This is exactly what i require. I have gone through some articles related to this, (both in this forum and elsewhere) but in all those tutorials, the depth of the categories is known (say, up to 4 or 5 levels). But, what i require is dynamic creation of these categories whose depth is unknown and also provide a way that any user can add a category from the front-end and also the admin can add a category from the back-end. Am in urgent need of this. Can anyone guide me in this regard, pls? And an example of the same would be of great help. Thanks in advance!! I am not looking to show the files contained - only folders. Hello, can someone please help me make this. I want a simple php directory script that lists files and folders. If a folder is clicked on then open that directory and if a file is clicked on it will download or if its a .txt or picture it will open in the browser. It means it will copy some 1000+ files via loop & store into a directory. The script worked fine before some 2 - 3days, Suddenly i saw that script is executing but no files copied to the server's directory. I checked the directory permission & it was 755. I changed the permission to 777 and run the script once again and it worked success... But the problem is the directory permission automatically changes to the old 755. I don't know how it happen. I need to change the directory permission to 777 when i begin to run the script. My Question is. 1.) Why did the directory permission automatically changes to 755. ? 2.) I was wondering if there was a way of letting a user navigate to a directory and select it as their default movie directory. i will then scan the sub directory names and compare them to a table in the Db. This latter part I can manage, its letting a user define their own default directory that is causing me problems. Hi guys, I am using a MySQL table to store if a user has access permisisons to a file. Cheers i need help gettig the size of a directory I am trying to handle 404 errors to mainly pdf files that used to reside in a different directory but have now moved permanantly to a new directory. I have tired many variations for the rewrite and none have worked or even given me errors to make me think I am kind on the right track.

I have also tried putting the line in question above the RewriteBase, putting an absolute url for both directories and removed/moved slashes before/after just about everything but nothing has worked.

Hey guys I have found this peice of code and messed around with it. I got it to work with Thickbox and I would like to know how to seperate my images aka files to every 4th column. Heres the code I found and tweaked. The images would look great if it was every 4th column they break. Also where would I place he echo command if I want it to display information about that image.
