PHP - Question About Multiple Boxes

I am attempting to submit a form that includes multiple check boxes for one data field. I have set it up the implode the data and make it a comma delimited array. I am able to echo the results, yet I have not been able to post the information to the database. I believe that I have just one simple thig to do, yet I am not being successful. Here is my code I have attached the .txt file also:

I have a form that has a section where you can pick multiple check boxes and when the info is returned to me it has the word Array at the end of it.

There are 2 check boxes on the form one fo Steve and one for Ben

Below is the code I am using in my PHP file

Iv written a small script in JS to add input boxes of the type file to the page.. My problem is when i use multiple of those input boxes and submit the form the $_FILES variable only reads 1 of those boxes.. This is the javascript im using:

I assume you build the where clause for the sql by determining if there is an option value has been selected in the single-value select boxes.

But how do I handle the multi-select list boxes?

I'm desperate for help!  Need to get somewhere with this over the weekend!

i have a question for you.

say i have a group of tick boxes and i select a couple.

would i put them in to the database as varchar ?
like this:

id   varchar
1    1, 2, 3

or

id   varchar
1    '1', '2', '3'


then my next question is how would i use them.
i guess i would explode them or something.

the thing is, i have some code that currently pull 1 item from the database (using varchar) and echos it fine but when i add more i get nothing back.

I had 8 select boxes(dropdowns) in a form. Its like a search kind of implementation in the website. I don't know what the user selects, he may choose different select boxes, any number of select boxes.

So, based upon the user selection, I need to generate the data. The data fields to be generated would be almost same.

So, How would I know what the user selection is and how many select boxes has been selected and how could I generate different data based upon selected boxes.

I had to make a small note abt this, that the data generation fields may change for some of the user select combinations, but most of the result fields would be same.

so, can you please help me out, how to do, how to make different combination data generations, because, i had 8 fields, i had to make 8! combinations, that would result in a big code.

This may sound like a very stupid question, but I can't find a clear answer anywhere.

I'm making my first dive in OOP and all the tutorials only really show basic usage. They define a class, and show how to use it in a file.

My question is how does it work to use an object throughout a program? Is it available everywhere or do I store things in sessions and start a new object on each page?

For example: logging in a user. If I created an instance after confirming the credentials, would that same instance be available for use in say index.php, or would I just pass a session over and create a new instance on each page?

Again, sorry if this seems dumb to some people.

I want to do a form for entering dog-show results. On first site of form the user is able to enter how many dogs for each class (there are youth and open class for example) he want to insert. So on second site there will be formfields for every dog in every class, created with php. User should be able to take dogname from jquery autocomplete - this works for multiple fields. But i need the according id to the dogname - and actual only one id is given - the first one is changing by choosing from autocomplete in next fields...

I changed in script and form id='dogidindatabase' to class, but it doesn´t work.   Testsite is under http://www.wolfdog-d...how.php?lang=de (only german at first) - Insert a number (higher than 1) under baby 3-6 (first box, the others are not working for testing); submit to get to page 2; you see all post-variables (for testing). Try to insert a dogname in first input-field (choose "exc") and insert first one - the id is under dogname. In second dogname inputfield you can choose second dog - the id for the first one changes to id of seond one ....   How can i get both for every dog?

Ok I'm trying to insert multiple rows by using a while loop but having problems. At the same time, need to open a new mysql connection while running the insert query, close it then open the previous mysql connection.

I managed to insert multiple queries before using a loop, but for this time, the loop does not work? 
I think it is because I am opening another connection... yh that would make sense actually?

This seems to be a bit of a challenge but I am creating a multiple page form and on one of the pages I have a select field. I would like the user to have the ability to select multiple options but I am using some functions to move the data in hidden fields from page to page. I don't think my functions are jiving with my my foreach loop cause I keep getting an invalid argument error.

Hello all,

   I am trying to learn OOP in PHP so please forgive my ignorance. I seem to be having difficulty inserting data into my database from checkbox items. My database has a column for each each fruit. I would like for each column to be populated with either a one(1) for checked or a zero(0)  for not checked. Currently, my attempts have failed. I can either get all checkboxes to insert all zeros or I can get the first column to insert a one(1) while the others as zeros. Is there anybody here that can help me figure out what I am doing wrong and help me to re-work my code so I can get this to work? If anybody can help me using OOP methods that would be fantastic. I am trying to export multiple csv files to download from 2 separate tables in my database.

Some background:
I have a web app that links to a phpmyadmin database. There are 2 tables in the database (entering and exiting). These tables hold the phone inventory information of employees currently entering or exiting the organization.

The fields in my tables a

location, firstname, lastname, username, extension, mac, type

What I am trying to do is export the data in these 2 tables to CSV (which I have working now) but I need to have multiple CSVs for each.

For example, for my exiting table, I need to have one CSV export all the fields in the table and I also need another CSV to export just the location and username field. I have a simple html form with a submit button which is currently working now:

Again, this is working perfectly for only exporting all the data from the exiting table into one CSV file. My question is, how can I make my one submit button export the 2 CSV files that I need?

I have a search where I want to be able to search a string of words. The search is going to be looking in 2 different table joined by a left outer join. The tables are "quotes" and "categories".

The above mysql statement works and returns values..BUT if say, I search "john" and "funny", and a quote is posted by the user "john", but has a category of "funny" it will output the same quote twice. I was wondering if there was a way to see if a quote has either 1 term or both terms, if so display that quote but only display it once. Below is what the query is outputting.

I don't think this is the fastest way of doing this, as it loops for each item in the db, per each keyword that is search.

Any help would be great!!
