PHP - Zebra Tables With Php & Mysql

I have two tables in which different information of members are stored...

table 1 stores the users main info, name, city, category, location

table 2 stores extra info such as sub categories of items they have.

Now i want to be able to search both tables for one value...say i type in red..i want to be able to search both tables at the same time to find the results and display them

So far i'm stuck in figuring out how to do this, which is why i'm asking for help now.

Okay so I have 2 tables in my database. One called user and one called messages. A user logs in to the message board and leaves a message (eg nice website). They write in the author name and the message then after the message is posted it says

"Nice website"
Posted by (author) on (date).

All is good so far. It works. However if you look at my code you will see I have a session started. This session is storing the username of the logged in user. From the column username in the users table. (This table has has an id for each user). Ive played around with the code trying to make it so the user doesnt have to fill in the author box. I want rid of that box So the logged in user just leaves a message then it says "posted by (username) on (date).

Im missing something from my code.
Can anyone tell me what? Please?

I just found out my user ID is missing from database..

Heyyzarrh, iv been having troubles trying to make it so my PHP script will echo out the username by corresponding the posters ID with the ID in the members table. Heres what iv got so far:

I have looked all over the net on how to fix this... I am creating a baseball statistical website and I have 2 tables with identical columns (2012hitting and 2013hitting). I am trying to create a page where I can 1) group each year's statistics (which I have been able to do) and 2) have a row named "Career Totals". Each table has about 15 columns, various stats. How can I add the data from my 2012hitting table to my 2013hitting table into a Career Totals row for each player?

Hi Guys,

I need a little help. This one is giving me a real head ache :-(

I have created a archive database in mysql. Within the database there are tables named  YYYYMMDD_var. The tables layout is as follows:

I have created some drop down menus in php to call for the dates Dateto and Datefr. I then calculate the diff between the dates and return the output (20101101_var, 20101102_var etc,,,)

But when I call for the mysql Select I cant get all tables :-(

This is the following code I have been using, starting from getting requesting the dates from the drop down menus.

The problem lies in the UNION, where because it's caught in the loop, it returns it at the end of the line. Which creates the error.

If anybody has any other ideas, please help :-)

so I'm trying to change some specific columns in a row in a table of a MySQL database by calling the Doctrine_Query when an option is selected inside an admin panel of my website.

Table name: chatUsers
I need to find all rows with the person who has a username of: $chatUsers->username (The column inside chatUsers is called username) Once all those rows are found, change the value of all the row's column "type" to "user" Is this even possible?

So I'm trying to make a car rental project, and I need to show cars of a specific type, available in a specific period.
I'm currently using this query:
SELECT * FROM car, reservations
WHERE car.car_id = reservations.car
AND car.type = 1 AND reservations.reserved_from >= "2011-12-22"
AND reservations.reserved_to <= "2012-12-20";

So this returns all the cars of the type 1 reserved in 2011-12-22 - 2012-12-20 period.
So know that I know which cars are unavailable, how would you go ahead and pick out what's left?

i have two tables, employee details table(empno, emp_name , branch) and attendance table(date, Ot, attendence). I want to create a relation between two tables

I have three tables that I can link up via mysql and get the results I need, but I could also query just the one table and get the info from the other two via a function, my question is which is the faster and/or better way and why?

the problem is that only the first row is displayed no matter which page i choose
and i want each page to display the row assigned to it (page 15 = row 15 etc...)

I have 2 tables:
1. is a tables full of images that have an id, a src and a title (images_table).
2. table is a list of records with an id, a description and an images_id (records_table)

What I'm looking to do is:

Loop through the records in the records_table and find the description, the description is something like this 'Welcome to Kansas'. Then, I want to loop through the images_table and find the associated image of Kansas, based on a MySQL LIKE statement.

This is because the images_table has a title of 'Kansas', for example. Once this has been done, I then need to insert the id of Kansas into the images_id in the records_table a possible MySQL UPDATE.

Has anyone got an idea how I could do this?
