PHP - Script Doesn't Upload Thumbnail And Produces An Error When Clicking The Link.

I am working on an uploader and slowly getting it working, I am uploading 3 images at once, and setting arrays for each one as keys, with an increment of ++1. I am wanting to resize the image before it gets copied to the thumbnail folder.

I have this code.

Everything works with it. As you see, I started on getting the file info, but after that I am totally stuck on what to do after to resize the image proportionally with a maximum width of xPX and height to match it without looking distorted.

Everything is working pretty good, its just the thumbnail portion that adds a black background to every picture it converts.

When the user uploads a picture, I take the original picture and then make a thumbnail, so I have 2 images in my fileroot.  The original picture looks just fine, its just when I open the thumbnail.

Attached is a sample of the black background picture.

Hi,

I've recently started working on a site that someone else created. I'm not advanced with PHP like the previous guy was, so picking it up as I go.

Currently there is an admin page for managing a database of images uploaded by users. The table on this page grabs the database field values and just fills in the table with tick boxes, etc to manage. Rather than display thumbnails of each of the images on the page directly, the website owner wants to have a list of links to images in the table (this is done), but on hovering over the link, show the thumbnail, have a pop up thumbnail right on the mouse cursor. There already exists the function to grab the thumbnail into the table, but I am unsure how to have this work in a hovering thumb image.

Any help would be great.

I have a PHP application where I am trying to execute a PHP routine when the user clicks on a link to go to another page.  The routine needs to execute before I use a header location command to send the user to the next location.  I can't do this all with JavaScript, but it could be part of the solution if necessary.  I'd prefer to just use PHP if I could, but I'm not sure that this is possible.

Can anyone share with me a brief example of how I could do this?

Hi   I'm trying to change an image when a certain link is clicked. The image is a logo of a company and the links that will be clicked is english, arabic, and Chinese.   So if someone clicks on Chinese then the logo changes to the Chinese version of the normal logo.       Here is my html

Any one know a tutorial for an easy to use thumbnail script which I can use with pictures stored in mysql database.

So I am trying to execute an sql query by clicking a button or a link. Ultimately I want users to be able to click the "Fav" button and it then fades into "Added to favorites!" (I am building a favorite system which first collects data on page load like userid and itemid and then it needs to send it to the DB after a button is clicked)

The fade and stuff is not the most important part now (although a tip on doing that would be awesome) but the most important part is how to get this functional:

Currently all the values get stored in the DB as the page is loaded. I however want to be able to click on something to execute that query how do i do that? I read a bunch of stuff on javascript and ajax but it got me nowhere...

I have a page that i use to upload images to my website, i got a bit fed up of uploading one at a time so i decided to add multiple file fields to the form to upload multiple images at the same time.

Im having a few problems, iv read up he http://www.php.net/manual/en/features.file-upload.multiple.php and it seems all i have to do is add [] to the form names to turn them into arrays. I have a quick question about a script I wrote that searches all .jpg images in a directory (and it's sub-directories) and makes thumbnails of them. The problem I am having is that I am getting an internal server error after about 15 seconds. I have included my script, the class it requires, and my php.ini file that resides in the root of my site. I would be needing different picture sizes on different pages on my site but saving different sizes of a single pic is space consuming.

I've heard that it's possible to automatically adjust the size of the picture and found a script that ought to make that possible. Unfortunately, it did not work for me.

Edit: The problem is that the image is not showing. It appears as if it cannot locate the file source.

So, I'm learning how to upload pictures into a system from my awesome PHP book. I've looked and looked through the script but I can't figure out whats wrong with it.

Goal:
The script is meant to save a full version of the image in the images folder and a thumbnail in the thumbnail folder.
Bug:
The full image does not appear in any folder, and the thumbnail is created but its put in the images folder.

Hi everyone, would be grateful if anyone can help me. I recently changed my hosting package and didnt realize that the new package uses PHP 5. There is no option to use an earlier version but my thumbnail script that worked on PHP 4 just shows a red cross where the thumbnail should be. Can anyone tell me why the script below would not work with PHP 5. I have a basic understanding of how scripts work but I am not an expert so if you could make any replies easy to understand I have checked and the new server does have GD library version 2.0.34 installed - not sure if there is anything else I need to check ?

I'm trying to do a simple image upload. It works fine on my local server but i'm moving all my files to my production server and some files i attempt to upload, via an html form, don't register. The $_FILES variable doesn't exist sometimes. I think its because of the file size but i'm not sure.

The form has two inputs: "title" and "userfile". I can put something in the title and attempt to upload a small excel file and both $_POST and $_FILES exist but if i do a larger image file both $_POST and $_FILES don't even get set.

I did an "echo ini_get('post_max_size');" and i get "8M". The image i'm attempting to upload is only 0.34M so i should be good there.

I've replaced the actual upload script with this, which is how i found out the variables only get set sometimes


Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
