PHP - Script Doesn't Upload Thumbnail And Produces An Error When Clicking The Link.
Goal: To have a gallery that downloads images from the folder I previously uploaded to in a previous script.
Bug: When I load the page the thumbnail comes up as broken and when I click on the thumbnail to get the bigger picture it comes up with the following error message: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (c) isn't associated with any program." <?php include 'db.inc.php'; //connect to MySQL $db = mysql_connect(MYSQL_HOST, MYSQL_USER, MYSQL_PASSWORD) or die ('Unable to connect. "/gallerysite/multiple_image_upload/uploads/"; //Declaring Path for uploaded imagesThe script itself works fine. The script also uses javascript for multiple image upload. I am using XAMPP. The folder "thumbs" is set to "read-only", when I try to uncheck the "read-only" option in the properties in Windows then it sets itself back again to "read-only". Then again, the script works fine when it comes to the "uploads" folder. This is mentioned in comparison to the "thumbs" folder. Any suggestions on how to solve this? EDIT: I am using XAMPP. The folder "thumbs" is set to "read-only", when I try to uncheck the "read-only" option in the properties in Windows then it sets itself back again to "read-only". I am wondering if I would have issue that the option sets itself back again with Linux? Edited by glassfish, 11 October 2014 - 05:35 PM. Hi! I'm looking for a script that can do the following: upload one or preferably fx. five image files(jpg) resizes them to a specific size if they exceeds that size. create a thumbnail No files above 100kb can be uploaded. uploaded and/or processed files must be renamed with a unique file name. Work with php5 I have searched the internet for a script like that, but I can't find one that matches my needs. Also, the code must include good comments and nott be to hard to understand. So as basic code as possible. Still working on the same project. I had a function to upload a photo and you could use it as a profile picture. Now I wanted to expand on it and decided you can upload more than one photo, creating a gallery. I figured I could use the same script to create two images (one original size and one thumbnail for browsing) and went about it in two different ways, both failed miserably. First I figured my upload code could take the indata and make TWO photos at once with different name. I guess it can only keep on image in mind at once - or I did something else wrong. I used the same code to create $user.jpg and $user_tn.jpg and move them to the user's image folder. So try number two was to make two folders for the photo, one named after the user (for thumb) and another in a folder named big. That isn't working for me either. Anyone who likes to chime in with ideas or facepalms is very welcome. Here is the generic code I set out with: Code: [Select] if ($view == $user) { mkdir("grafik/users/$user"); mkdir("grafik/users/$user/big/"); if (isset($_FILES['image']['name'])) { $saveto = "grafik/users/$user/big/$user.jpg"; move_uploaded_file($_FILES['image']['tmp_name'], $saveto); $typeok = TRUE; switch($_FILES['image']['type']) { case "image/gif": $src = imagecreatefromgif($saveto); break; case "image/jpeg": case "image/pjpeg": $src = imagecreatefromjpeg($saveto); break; case "image/png": $src = imagecreatefrompng($saveto); break; default: $typeok = FALSE; break; } if ($typeok) { list($w, $h) = getimagesize($saveto); $max = 200; $tw = $w; $th = $h; if ($w > $h && $max < $w) { $th = $max / $w * $h; $tw = $max; } elseif ($h > $w && $max < $h) { $tw = $max / $h *$w; $th = $max;} elseif ($max < $w) { $tw = $th = $max;} $tmp = imagecreatetruecolor($tw,$th); imagecopyresampled($tmp, $src, 0, 0, 0, 0, $tw, $th, $w, $h); imageconvolution($tmp, array( array(-1, -1, -1), array(-1, 16, -1), array(-1, -1, -1) ), 8, 0); imagejpeg($tmp, $saveto); imagedestroy($tmp); imagedestroy($src); } } echo <<<_END <div id='main'> <form method='post' action='profile.php' enctype='multipart/form-data'> Image: <input type='file' name='image' size='14' maxlength='32' /> <input type='submit' value='Save Profile' /> </form> </div> _END; } It is the page in minimalist form and it still contains the big folder version. Thanks for putting up with my nooby questions. Im trying to write an image upload script which checks various elements of the image and then saves it and and a thumbnail into a folder. At the moment I am getting a white screen which makes me think I have a syntax error so I have come here to find some fresh eyes to help me out. Can anyone see any reason why this wouldn't be working? I am wanting to resize the image before it gets copied to the thumbnail folder. I have this code.
Everything works with it. As you see, I started on getting the file info, but after that I am totally stuck on what to do after to resize the image proportionally with a maximum width of xPX and height to match it without looking distorted. Any help would be really appreciated. Thank You. Hi All, Everything is working pretty good, its just the thumbnail portion that adds a black background to every picture it converts. When the user uploads a picture, I take the original picture and then make a thumbnail, so I have 2 images in my fileroot. The original picture looks just fine, its just when I open the thumbnail. Attached is a sample of the black background picture. Below is just the thumbnail portion of the code. Code: [Select] include('uploads/image.php'); $image = $path; $thumb = new SimpleImage(); $thumb->load($image); $width = 150; $height = 95; $thumb->resize($width,$height); $thumb->save('uploads/thumbnails/'.$filename); image.php Code: [Select] class SimpleImage { var $image; var $image_type; function load($filename) { $image_info = getimagesize($filename); $this->image_type = $image_info[2]; if( $this->image_type == IMAGETYPE_JPEG ) { $this->image = imagecreatefromjpeg($filename); } elseif( $this->image_type == IMAGETYPE_GIF ) { $this->image = imagecreatefromgif($filename); } elseif( $this->image_type == IMAGETYPE_PNG ) { $this->image = imagecreatefrompng($filename); } } function save($filename, $image_type=IMAGETYPE_JPEG, $compression=75, $permissions=null) { if( $image_type == IMAGETYPE_JPEG ) { imagejpeg($this->image,$filename,$compression); } elseif( $image_type == IMAGETYPE_GIF ) { imagegif($this->image,$filename); } elseif( $image_type == IMAGETYPE_PNG ) { imagepng($this->image,$filename); } if( $permissions != null) { chmod($filename,$permissions); } } function output($image_type=IMAGETYPE_JPEG) { if( $image_type == IMAGETYPE_JPEG ) { imagejpeg($this->image); } elseif( $image_type == IMAGETYPE_GIF ) { imagegif($this->image); } elseif( $image_type == IMAGETYPE_PNG ) { imagepng($this->image); } } function getWidth() { return imagesx($this->image); } function getHeight() { return imagesy($this->image); } function resizeToHeight($height) { $ratio = $height / $this->getHeight(); $width = $this->getWidth() * $ratio; $this->resize($width,$height); } function resizeToWidth($width) { $ratio = $width / $this->getWidth(); $height = $this->getheight() * $ratio; $this->resize($width,$height); } function scale($scale) { $width = $this->getWidth() * $scale/100; $height = $this->getheight() * $scale/100; $this->resize($width,$height); } function resize($width,$height) { $new_image = imagecreatetruecolor($width, $height); imagecopyresampled($new_image, $this->image, 0, 0, 0, 0, $width, $height, $this->getWidth(), $this->getHeight()); $this->image = $new_image; } } Hi, I've recently started working on a site that someone else created. I'm not advanced with PHP like the previous guy was, so picking it up as I go. Currently there is an admin page for managing a database of images uploaded by users. The table on this page grabs the database field values and just fills in the table with tick boxes, etc to manage. Rather than display thumbnails of each of the images on the page directly, the website owner wants to have a list of links to images in the table (this is done), but on hovering over the link, show the thumbnail, have a pop up thumbnail right on the mouse cursor. There already exists the function to grab the thumbnail into the table, but I am unsure how to have this work in a hovering thumb image. Any help would be great. I have a PHP application where I am trying to execute a PHP routine when the user clicks on a link to go to another page. The routine needs to execute before I use a header location command to send the user to the next location. I can't do this all with JavaScript, but it could be part of the solution if necessary. I'd prefer to just use PHP if I could, but I'm not sure that this is possible. Can anyone share with me a brief example of how I could do this? Thanks! Hi
I'm trying to change an image when a certain link is clicked. The image is a logo of a company and the links that will be clicked is english, arabic, and Chinese.
So if someone clicks on Chinese then the logo changes to the Chinese version of the normal logo.
Here is my html
<?php $langArabic=''; $langChinese=''; $langSpanish=''; $langEng=''; $linkArabic=getSEOLink($page_id); $linkChinese=getSEOLink($page_id); $linkSpanish=getSEOLink($page_id); $linkEng=getSEOLink($page_id); $queryLink = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM $_SEO_TABLE WHERE `id_page`='".$page_id."'"); if(mysql_num_rows($queryLink) > 0){ $resultLink = mysql_fetch_object($queryLink); if($resultLink->url != ''){ $linkEng = $_HTTP_ADDRESS."".$resultLink->url; if($page_id == 1 || $page_id == '1'){ $linkEng = $_HTTP_ADDRESS; } } if($resultLink->url_arabic != ''){ $linkArabic = $_HTTP_ADDRESS."".$resultLink->url_arabic; } if($resultLink->url_chinese != ''){ $linkChinese = $_HTTP_ADDRESS."".$resultLink->url_chinese; } if($resultLink->url_spanish != ''){ $linkSpanish = $_HTTP_ADDRESS."".$resultLink->url_spanish; } } switch (urlExtension()) { case 'html': $langClass = ''; $langEng='langActive'; $langTag='en'; break; case 'ar': if($page->title_arabic == ''){ $langClass = '_arabic'; }else{ $langClass = '_arabic'; } $langArabic='langActive'; $langTag='ar'; break; case 'es': $langClass = ''; $langSpanish='langActive'; $langTag='es'; break; case 'cn': $langClass = ''; $langChinese='langActive'; $langTag='cn'; break; default: $langClass = ''; $langEng='langActive'; $langTag='en'; } ?> <a class="main-logo<?php echo $langClass;?>" href="javascript:void(0);"><img src="<?php echo $_HTTP_ADDRESS;?>images/logo-letters.png" /></a> <div class="language-selection-wrapper<?php echo $langClass;?> overlay-bg<?php echo $langClass;?> border-bottom-white<?php echo $langClass;?> padding-level-one<?php echo $langClass;?>"> <div class="language-inner-wrapper<?php echo $langClass;?>"> <a class="<?php echo $langEng;?>" href="<?php echo $linkEng;?>">English</a><span>|</span> <a class="<?php echo $langArabic;?>" href="<?php echo $linkArabic;?>">العربيّة</a><span>|</span> <a class="<?php echo $langSpanish;?>" href="<?php echo $linkSpanish;?>">Español</a><span>|</span> <a class="<?php echo $langChinese;?>" href="<?php echo $linkChinese;?>">中文</a> <div class="clearboth"></div> </div> Any one know a tutorial for an easy to use thumbnail script which I can use with pictures stored in mysql database. So I am trying to execute an sql query by clicking a button or a link. Ultimately I want users to be able to click the "Fav" button and it then fades into "Added to favorites!" (I am building a favorite system which first collects data on page load like userid and itemid and then it needs to send it to the DB after a button is clicked) The fade and stuff is not the most important part now (although a tip on doing that would be awesome) but the most important part is how to get this functional: PHP Code: <?php // Start Favorite System! $user =& JFactory::getUser(); $userid = $user->id; if ($userid == 62) { echo "userID: ".$userid."<p />"; if ($user->guest) {echo "You are a guest<p />";} $itemid = $this->item->id; echo "itemID: ".$itemid."<p />"; $catid= $this->item->category->id; echo "catID: ".$catid."<p />"; $query = "INSERT INTO jos_k2_fav_xref (userID, itemID, catID) VALUES ('$userid', '$itemid', '$catid')"; // Need a way to make this into a button $run = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); } else {} ?> Currently all the values get stored in the DB as the page is loaded. I however want to be able to click on something to execute that query how do i do that? I read a bunch of stuff on javascript and ajax but it got me nowhere... Help is greatly appreciated! Hi.. Hi everyone, I have a page that i use to upload images to my website, i got a bit fed up of uploading one at a time so i decided to add multiple file fields to the form to upload multiple images at the same time. Im having a few problems, iv read up he http://www.php.net/manual/en/features.file-upload.multiple.php and it seems all i have to do is add [] to the form names to turn them into arrays. However when i come to upload the images, i keep getting the "$error[] = "Incorrect format!...." error from the code below. I cant seem to figure out what the problem is. Thanks, dilbertone - the first dilbert on earth I would be needing different picture sizes on different pages on my site but saving different sizes of a single pic is space consuming. I've heard that it's possible to automatically adjust the size of the picture and found a script that ought to make that possible. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. Article: PHP Thumbnail Script Using GD http://www.rainbodesign.com/pub/thumbnails/ Here's the code: Code: [Select] <? // Rainbo Design PHP Thumbnail Maker // Copyright (C) 2005-2010 by Richard L. Trethewey - rick@rainbo.net // All Rights Reserved // If you use this script, I'd appreciate a link! // http://www.rainbodesign.com/pub/ // Defaults $thumbsize = 150; // Default thumbnail width. $imagesource = 'images/default_img.jpg'; // Default image file name. // Set to empty string for no image output on failure. $error = ''; if (isset($_GET['width'])) { $thumbsize = $_GET['width']; } if (isset($_GET['src'])) { $imagesource = $_GET['src']; } $filetype = substr($imagesource,strlen($imagesource)-4,4); $filetype = strtolower($filetype); if (file_exists($imagesource)) { if($filetype == ".gif") $image = @imagecreatefromgif($imagesource); if($filetype == ".jpg") $image = @imagecreatefromjpeg($imagesource); if($filetype == ".png") $image = @imagecreatefrompng($imagesource); $imagewidth = imagesx($image); $imageheight = imagesy($image); if ($imagewidth >= $thumbsize) { $thumbwidth = $thumbsize; $factor = $thumbsize / $imagewidth; $thumbheight = floor($imageheight * $factor); } else { $thumbwidth = $imagewidth; $thumbheight = $imageheight; $factor = 1; } // Create a thumbnail-sized GD Image object $thumb = @imagecreatetruecolor($thumbwidth,$thumbheight); // bool imagecopyresized ( resource dst_image, resource src_image, int dst_x, int dst_y, int src_x, int src_y, int dst_w, int dst_h, int src_w, int src_h ) imagecopyresized($thumb, $image, 0, 0, 0, 0, $thumbwidth, $thumbheight, $imagewidth, $imageheight); // Send output to user as a jpeg type, regardless of original type header("Content-type:image/jpeg;"); imagejpeg($thumb); imagedestroy($image); imagedestroy($thumb); } else { $error = "File $imagesource Not Found"; } // endif file_exists if ($error != '') { header('Content-type:text/plain;'); echo($error); exit; } // endif $error ?> And here's a little instruction (which I have followed as well). Quote All it takes is replacing the "src" parameter in the <img> tag with the URL for the PHP script, including the parameters "src" which contains the path to the original image file, and "color" to select the color for the font. The script also supports a "width" parameter to specify the width of your thumbnail image. Using that script to display the above image as a thumbnail by setting the "src" attribute to "makeThumb.php?src=slides/slide1.jpg", we get the resulting image shown on the right. Can anyone please help me with this script or something similar? Thanks in advance. ^_^ Edit: The problem is that the image is not showing. It appears as if it cannot locate the file source. So, I'm learning how to upload pictures into a system from my awesome PHP book. I've looked and looked through the script but I can't figure out whats wrong with it. Goal: The script is meant to save a full version of the image in the images folder and a thumbnail in the thumbnail folder. Bug: The full image does not appear in any folder, and the thumbnail is created but its put in the images folder. I've checked the GD library, and everything is supported. image_effect.php <?php //change this path to match your images directory $dir ='C:/x/xampp/htdocs/images'; //change this path to match your fonts directory and the desired font putenv('GDFONTPATH=' . Hi everyone, would be grateful if anyone can help me. I recently changed my hosting package and didnt realize that the new package uses PHP 5. There is no option to use an earlier version but my thumbnail script that worked on PHP 4 just shows a red cross where the thumbnail should be. Can anyone tell me why the script below would not work with PHP 5. I have a basic understanding of how scripts work but I am not an expert so if you could make any replies easy to understand I have checked and the new server does have GD library version 2.0.34 installed - not sure if there is anything else I need to check ? script called: uktn.php Code: [Select] <? $maxwidth = 200; $maxheight = 200; $image_path = $_GET['im']; $ext = explode('.', $image_path); $i = count($ext)-1; if ($ext[$i] == 'jpg' || $ext[$i] == 'jpeg' || $ext[$i] == 'JPG' || $ext[$i] == 'JPEG' ) { $img = @imagecreatefromjpeg($image_path); } else if ($ext[$i] == 'png' || $ext[$i] == 'PNG') { $img = @imagecreatefrompng($image_path); } else if ($ext[$i] == 'gif' || $ext[$i] == 'GIF') { $img = @imagecreatefromgif($image_path); } if ($img) { $width = imagesx($img); $height = imagesy($img); $scale = min($maxwidth/$width, $maxheight/$height); if ($scale < 1) { $new_width = floor($scale*$width); $new_height = floor($scale*$height); $tmp_img = imagecreatetruecolor($new_width, $new_height); imagecopyresized($tmp_img, $img, 0, 0, 0, 0, $new_width, $new_height, $width, $height); imagedestroy($img); $img = $tmp_img; } } if (!$img) { exit ("You must specify an image!"); } header("Content-type: image/png"); imagepng($img,'',100); ?> Many thanks, Dave I'm trying to do a simple image upload. It works fine on my local server but i'm moving all my files to my production server and some files i attempt to upload, via an html form, don't register. The $_FILES variable doesn't exist sometimes. I think its because of the file size but i'm not sure. The form has two inputs: "title" and "userfile". I can put something in the title and attempt to upload a small excel file and both $_POST and $_FILES exist but if i do a larger image file both $_POST and $_FILES don't even get set. I did an "echo ini_get('post_max_size');" and i get "8M". The image i'm attempting to upload is only 0.34M so i should be good there. I've replaced the actual upload script with this, which is how i found out the variables only get set sometimes Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Code: [Select] <?php echo "Upload: " . $_FILES["userfile"]["name"] . "<br />"; echo "Type: " . $_FILES["userfile"]["type"] . "<br />"; echo "Size: " . ($_FILES["userfile"]["size"] / 1024) . " Kb<br />"; echo "Stored in: " . $_FILES["userfile"]["tmp_name"]; echo "<hr><pre>"; print_r($_POST); echo "</pre><hr>"; echo "<pre>"; print_r($_FILES); echo "</pre>"; |
