PHP - Problem Updating Mysql Field Based On User_email Field
Hi:
I'm going crazy trying to do the following: I'm making a job registration process where the user registers on one php page to the website, must acknowlege and email receipt using an activate php page, then is directed to upload their C.V. (resume) based on the email address they enter in the active page output. I then run an upload page to store the resume in teh MySQL db based on the users email address in the same record. If I isolate the process of the user registering to the db, it works perfectly. If I isolate the file upload process into the db, it works perfect. I simply cannot upload teh file to the existing record based on teh email form field matching the user_email field in the db. With the processes together, teh user is activated, but teh file is not uploaded. Maybe I've simply been at this too long today, but am compeled to get through it by end day. If anyone can help sugest a better way or help me fix this, I will soo greatly appreciate it. Basically the form is working great (updating records, retrieving records and showing errors) but there is a problem with the errors. If there are no errors and I edit the existing text input values, the database updates fine. However if I edit the existing text input values and there is an error, the edited input values dont save, they revert back to the values of the database. I understand why this is happening, its because the text inputs are set to show the values of the database so if i edit the existing values and an error occurs or the page is refreshed, the values revert back to the database values. However id like it so that if any text in the text field have been edited and an error occurs, the text stays to how it is until the user by passes any errors and then the database is updated. I find this strange because when you send the message to this user using the "compose message" script, the input variable is inserted into the database table without a stitch. Now the products are simple just basic info and 1 picture. I have set this up so they can edit the products and change the information, having done this many times in the past, but now hit a puzzling block that I am baffled. The client when editing is presented with the form with the information pulled from the database and the form fields loaded with that data ready to edit. The image can either be left alone or they can choose to upload a new image. They are shown the image they currently have stored in the database. The problem I have is EVEN if they decide not to upload an image and change other information, when the submit the form it must be sending a blank value for the image somewhere as it is updating the database and removing the image reference as if it has been removed. As you can see I'm getting the PRINT_POSITION_URL for color="04" but i want PRINT_POSITION_URL for color="06" based on PRODUCT_NUMBER. I should probably use xpath with substring-after method but i can't get it work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first real jump into PHP, I created a small script a few years ago but have not touched it since (or any other programming for that matter), so I'm not sure how to start this. I need a script that I can run once a day through cron and take the date from one table/filed and insert it into a different table/field, converting the human readable date to a Unix date. Table Name: Ads Field: endtime_value (human readable date) to Table Name: Node Field: auto_expire (Converted to Unix time) Both use a field named "nid" as the key field, so the fields should match each nid field from one table to the next. Following a tutorial I have been able to insert into a field certain data, but I don't know how to do it so the nid's match and how to convert the human readable date to Unix time. Thanks in advance!. Earlier I posted about how to best deal with a calculated field in MySQL and was advised not to store the value in the database. So, I took my calculated value out of the tables. I can select based on the calculated value

This code works just fine to display a list of reservations for a given day and sums the guest and table counts just fine for the entire day. Sums all reservations returned.
What I am trying to do or figure out is a way to get totals based on specific time intervals. For example how many guests and tables at 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, etc....
I can see where the sums are calculated, but need help adding a way to add a variable to look at the reservation_time and sum by hour rather than just daily total.

Edited by mfandel, 26 October 2014 - 02:06 AM. so im trying to setup a page for my bills that i pay monthly so me and my gf can access it remotely whenever we need to. we have a few loans that we are paying off in installment loans every month so i created a table like the picture below (which is actually in excel but it looks about the same). i know how to pull via select and sum everything that i need but what i'm actually going for is this: every month on those certain due dates i'd like for the monthly payment to be subtracted from the balance automatically..and it show the reflected balance. i'm not sure how to go about such a thing though as i've never worked with dates and times. my logic is that i have to setup a beginning time stamp for it to work off of..and then every 30 days from that time stamp..subtract the payment. then again, there's not always 30 days in a month and it'd get off track. any ideas? I have 4 fields: arrival, departure, no. of persons and comments to check.
