PHP - Displaying Form Array Help

I am validating a form, and if there are errors in the input, the error array is filled with appropriate mssg and the "sticky" form with right values is shown back, and errors on top.

Example:
first name, last name, email, date of birth.
each field is validated,and if  for example first name does not pass,i will nullify the value and populate error array like below:
$_SESSSION['error']['fname']="Please check the format of the name,can contain only alphabets!"
$_SESSSION['error']['email']="Please check the format of email!"

When I slap back the form, last name has passed, and so will have the previously entered value, but first name and email will be empty, and i need to know how to display the 2 errors on top of the form.
It uses post method, and posts to itself.

hi i am trying to make a payroll calculator script that takes employee info, calculates pay, displays submitted info in a table, stores info in an array, and updates the array when new info is submitted. i have most of these accomplished, i am having trouble with the "store into an array, and update the array when new info is submitted" parts of the project. i am still not very fluent in php so there may be easier ways to achieve what i have so far. any pointers would be a great help, this part has got me stumped.

hi,
I am displaying mysql data in a table form using php. The first attached pic shows how is it looking with the current code. As you can see there are heading on the left and top of the table. So user can make booking on a specific day (heading is on the top for days) and for specific duration of time(headings are on the left). As in first pic, there has been a booking on Wed at 10 o clock, but the problem is, it is displaying duration just for half an hour. As this duration is from 10 o clock to 11 o clock. So what I want to do is in the second pic. Please view the second pic. In the second pic I want to display the highlighted area in blie because all this time is booked or reserved.

Please help!

Hi i'm new to PHP/web development but not new to coding.

I have some php code that I grabed from a template where I am selecting data from a file and having it diplay on the screen in a form.  My $query = "select * from file where" statement works and bring the data back to the screen.  However, I want the data to be returned in a textarea instead of a text field that is not big enough to display the 3 paragraph that i need to display. 

Please see code below, thsi code will return the data but the text box only returns the data in a line, I need the data to be returned in a textarea, so I can update it.  I have looked for the correct syntex with no luck, please correct me.

The ID field doesn't display the data but it must be there because it was the key for the query. It is an int if that makes any difference.

Hopefully the title fits this well enough. I am having trouble explaining my idea in words and therefore am having trouble researching what I would like to do.

First off, let me say that I only have the most basic understanding of web development knowledge. I can usually look stuff up and hack stuff together and make it work. I am sure none of is done very efficiently, but as long as it works I am happy.

This project started off as a simple idea. I have a list of events on my page. When clicking on an event, I want it to open up a page to the right with a signup form and a "table" displaying the sign-ups. Seemed easy enough. Originally I was going to use Google Docs to accomplish this all. An embedded calendar with the events at the left. When clicking on the event it opened up the desired event page in an <iframe> to the right. Inside of that there would have been an embedded Docs form which exports the data to a docs spreadsheet. To the right of the form, the docs Spreadsheet would have been embedded.

In my head this works, and on paper it works. However, when trying to embed two Google elements, one would break. Even if I had one on the page, and one embedded on a page that was being displayed via <iframe>. You can see this here, www.leagues.simrigs.com , I stopped mid way through when I realized it wasn't going to work.

Anyway, so now I want to lose the whole Google aspect completely. I will have off to the left, nicely styled image "button" links to each event page. I still want the pages to open in an <iframe> off to the right. This is simple enough I want to keep it all within the same page. This part is easy enough for me.

The part I am having trouble with now is the form and spreadsheet part. I can manage making the signup form. After that I am lost. I need to have this input data logged somewhere, sorted into a sensible manor, and then displayed on the page next to where they signed up.

Hopefully this makes some sort of sense. It works in my mind, I just don't know how to describe it. If need be, I can do a little photoshop mockup on what I am looking for.

According to my research setting the enctype to multipart/formdata should display the image, but it does not. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

I need help

I am a new guy here and don,t have much knowledge of PHP. My problem is complex but let me explain it in simple lines.
I have two different codes , 1) This code takes form entries 'website','caption' and 'name' and stores it into the Table named as 'user_info' into mysql database. This page is saved as index.php

2) This code can add add new category as a root or a child of existing category with update(edit & delete) option.This page is saved as categories.php

Both codes are working(except upload function),but what i want to do is to combine the both forms (Items and category) into one page so that a user can add :

name: name of the person
Add category:choosing existing category

Hi,

I have this simple e-mail script that I am modifying to my liking. I know how to do everything I want to do, except make the script e-mail the recipient the page title and url link of the website page this is form is sent from. Since the link to this file will be included in pretty much every page on my site, I can't put static url links and page titles in the code below. I need a way for the page title and url to be pulled from the active page and be displayed in the e-mail once the person receives it.

Just to be clear how this will work; there will be a link on every web page that people can click that will pop-up a window that will have this form & script in it where they can enter in their e-mail, a friends e-mail and a message and then send it off.

I have tried a bunch of methods myself, but I am not getting good results. Can anyone help me with this? I am at my wits end.

Been screwing around on Google for about 3 hours trying to find a tutorial on what I am trying to do with absolutely no luck!

I am simply trying to get my test script to echo errors from an array when a form criteria does not validate. This is my final revision which is still not working!

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? No matter what I do, I can't get away from this error:
