PHP - Fun With Arrays! Distribute An Array Into Groups/sets.
Hi,
I need some help getting my head around arrays. I have a basket of fruit: $basket=("Apple","$Orange","$Banana","$Banana","$Peach","$Apple","$Banana","$Orange","$Apple"); I want to distribute and share this basket of fruit into bowls, such that each bowl contains the following: $bowl=("$Apple",$Orange,"$Banana","$Banana") ie. I have a two dimensional array and would like to output the results in groups depending upon one of the fields in the array. While i have managed this and have figured out how to create a header for each group, i would now like to create a footer (end of group) line where i could create a subtotal or similar.
my working code with the header is below but how do i add the footer?

FYI, this code is getting info for each day and putting that info into the array and then later on a calendar is generated and the data gathered here is placed onto each specific day. This is working EXCEPT when there are MULTIPLE data sets on the SAME day. In those cases, it's just displaying the first data set. In other words, if $hunches['day'] = 3 and there is just one data set with that date, it will display that info on the calendar fine. But if there are five data sets with $hunches['day'] = 3, then it only displays the first one. I need it to display all data sets, so any clue how I could alter this code to do that? This then puts 5 in the right column and only 2 in the left column which looks ugly. Can someone suggest a way of calculating the total number of images and then displaying them say 4 in the left column and 3 in the right column for this example? Also, I want to distribute this same script as a free trial for 15 days. After that the user must upgrade. The script will call home to verify if the user has valid record in our server or not. As such, arrays B and C will never have any intersecting values, but both should have matches in $arrayA, and I need to generate an array which contains only the values of arrayA which match either B or C. After finding some documentation here (http://www.metrocomp.mocsi.eu/w3/php/func_array_intersect.html) I tried using array_intersect : array_intersect ($arrayA, $arrayB, $arrayC) However this does not work as described and returns no results as there are no values which are contained in all three arrays. A little background on the project I'm doing at the mo, I'm creating a small dashboard for grabbing Twitter stats via the API. The result will eventually output in a pretty table showing the daily followers, follower gains (or losses) etc. Here's an example of the table I eventually want to end up with.
So far I have two arrays of data:
$accounts_data is a list of all account names and their associated ID's
$followers_data is a list of all follower counts, for a specific time of day, with an associated account ID (which matches the ID found in $accounts_data, thus pairing the follower count to a specific account)
I'm now trying to combine these two arrays into something more sensible that can then be used to output the table as shown in the link above.

I dynamically generate arrays, but for the simplicity of the example we can just use two arrays. The $values include dates and locations. I then pass $values to strtotime to convert the dates to a Unix Time stamp. when strtotime sees the Locations - it throws a PHP error "strtotime() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given" so my question is what can I do to separate the Dates from the locations in order to avoid the error ? MANY THANKS to anyone who can give advice on this ! As the title says, how can i check if multiple arrays exist inside an array or not? Any help is greatly appreciated!
