PHP - How To Make A Form Using Html/php With Conditional Responses Based On Zip Code?
How to make a form using HTML/PHP with conditional responses based on zip code?
What I want to do exactly... zip codes 91900-92600 go to URL www.example.com after submit. All others go to URL www.example.com/page after submit. Any help would be much appreciated. Similar TutorialsHi there, I found a Javascript with what I want, but I want it to be in PHP because if people don't have Javascript enabled, they won't see the login. Here is what I have, but I need it to be converted to PHP: Code: [Select] function loginArea() { val = document.loginForm.password.value; switch(val) { case "password1": document.location = 'http://www.google.com/password1-page/'; break; case "password2": document.location = 'http://www.google.com/password2-page/'; break; default: document.location ='http://www.google.com/sorry/'; break; } } Code: [Select] <form name="loginForm" id="loginForm" method="post" action=""> <input name="password" type="text" id="password" maxlength="5" /> <input name="login" type="button" id="login" value="Check" onclick="loginArea()" /> </form> Help? - Steph Hi everyone... I would like to implement a questionnaire/survey system that has only two Answers (Yes /No). Basically, this questionnaire system will be widely used on Mobile Phones. It will be looking something like this below: http://awardwinningfjords.com/2009/06/16/iphone-style-checkboxes.html Lets say a user selects a response as No (Using the above slider button for a question). That response should be recorded in the database with User Details + Time Stamp. Also, I would like to generate a report for each question (Responses of Multiple Users) and a report at a User Level for the entire questionnaire/survey (s). Can some one guide me the fastest & easiest way to achieve this? I'm a new learner of PHP. Regards Sandeep Hi im new to php and I need help making webpage that queries a mysql database based on a 3 check boxes and displays results on the same page or on another page. The table being queried has 4 columns, name, gps, wifi, bluetooth. So for example a row in the table would be like, samsung galaxy s2, yes, yes, yes. The idea is for it to be a website that will display phones according to their features. So the idea is depending on if the boxes were ticked the samsung galaxy would be displayed as a result. So i need some help understanding how to make this. Some1 gave me the code below in attempt to help me (im not sure it works or not) but im not sure how fully use it, ie what pages i need to make and how i create the connection to the mysql database, and how to use the query that they wrote to display the results thanks code: Code: [Select] <form action="?do=filter" method="post"> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="3" border="1"> <tr> <td>GPS<input type="checkbox" name="gps" value="checked"></td> <td>Wifi<input type="checkbox" name="wifi" value="checked"></td> <td>Bluetooth<input type="checkbox" name="bluetooth" value="checked"></td> </tr> <tr><td><input type='submit' name='filter' value='Filter'></td></tr> </table> </form> </html> <?php function filterMe($filter){ if(isset($_POST[$filter])){ return "Yes"; }else{ return "No"; } } if(isset($_POST['filter'])){ echo "Gps - " . filterMe('gps'); echo " Wifi - " . filterMe('wifi'); echo " Bluetooth - " . filterMe('bluetooth'); } ?> All you need to do is use a query something like SELECT name,gps,wifi,bluetooth FROM `product` WHERE `gps`='".filterMe('gps')."' AND `wifi`='".filterMe('wifi')."' AND `bluetooth`='".filterMe('bluetooth')."' Hello, I have ran into a unique scenario. I am trying to generate a unix timestamp (by using the gmmktime function). The problem is, I have multiple tags in a form doing the same thing. for example (I have truncated some of the values for sake of page length/readability): Code: [Select] <label for="dateMonth[6]">Date:</label> Month: <select name="dateMonth[6]" id="dateMonth[6]"> <option value="9">September</option> <option value="10" selected="selected">October</option> <option value="11">November</option> <option value="12">December</option> </select> Day: <select name="dateDay[6]" id="dateDay[6]"> <option value="29">29</option> <option value="30" selected="selected">30</option> <option value="31">31</option> </select> Year: <select name="dateYear[6]" id="dateYear[6]"> <option value="2010" selected="selected">2010</option> <option value="2011">2011</option> <option value="2012">2012</option> <option value="2013">2013</option> </select> Hour: <select name="dateHour[6]" id="dateHour"> <option value="1">1</option> <option value="2">2</option> <option value="3">3</option> </select> Minute: <select name="dateMinute[6]" id="dateMinute"> <option value="0" selected="selected">00</option> <option value="15">15</option> <option value="30">30</option> <option value="45">45</option> </select> AM/PM: <select name="AMPM[6]" id="AMPM"> <option value="AM">AM</option> <option value="PM" selected="selected">PM</option> </select> Now, as you can see, I have an array of these elements. AMPM[6] dateHour[6] dateMinute[6], AMPM[7] dateHour[7] dateMinute[7], AMPM[8] and so on... The problem I am having is coming with the logic to consolidate all of the post variables that are 6s to make the unix timestamp, then all of the 7s to make a timestamp, and so on. Could someone please point me in the right direction on how to go about processing this? I have gotten so far with it, but still have a problem with it.
Its a page on an online store offering optional extras depending on the product. The products are furniture, so and there was an option to buy cushions for some. The change I am trying to make is to have an option for two different sizes of cushion depending on the product.
So there was a field 'cushions' in the product table, and a page 'accessories.php' that offered the option to add cushions.
I have added a new field 'cushions2' and a new page 'accessories2.php' to cover the new size of cushions.
The site is here, with this example product:
http://www.lloydloom...oduct.php?id=32
If you click 'Add to cart' the next page offers you the option to add custom paintwork.
If you enter something there, and click on 'Add colour to order' it works - i.e. the next page is the one offering the cushions.
But if you just click on 'No thank you, proceed with order' it just reloads the page - basically the URL isn't being puled through as it should be.
On that page the PHP at the top of the page looks like this:
<?php session_start(); Hello All, running into a situation that I have not seen before. I have been seeing in multiple areas of my application that the response received from the server has 2 JSON responses in it. Here is a sample function: private function getCatalogItems(){ $start = ($_REQUEST["start"] == null)? 0 : $_REQUEST["start"]; $count = ($_REQUEST["limit"] == null)? 20 : $_REQUEST["limit"]; $q = "SELECT c.`id`, c.`catalog_number`, c.`long_description`, CONCAT(c.`catalog_number`, ' - ', c.`long_description`) AS `display` FROM catalog c"; if(!empty($_REQUEST['query'])){ $q .= " WHERE c.`catalog_number` LIKE '%".$_POST['query']."%'"; } $q .= " ORDER BY c.`catalog_number` ASC LIMIT ".$start.",".$count; $rs = $this->db->get_results($q); $total = $this->db->num_rows; $buff = '{"total":"'.$total.'","data":'.json_encode($rs).'}'; $this->c->returnJSON($buff); } The "returnJSON" function looks like this. public function returnJSON($json){ $contentType = "application/json; charset=utf-8"; header("Content-Type: {$contentType}"); header("Content-Size: " . strlen($json)); echo $json; } As you can see this simply sets the headers of the response. It has been a real head scratcher. Anyone come across something like this before? I'm trying to do something that I thought was very simple about 2 weeks ago :-( I want to put a form on my site and link it to a database so when a user types a surname into the form they can search the db and the page will only display the surnames that match the search criteria. I got the db set up using phpmyadmin in about 2 minutes flat, but keep getting error messages when I write the php. I'm currently working with the below script, which keeps giving me the error 'unexpected T_string' on line 176 I've searched every forum and help site I can find, and the mysql and php manuals are just mind-boggling. I'm sure I'm making some really amateur mistake, but I'd really appreciate help with this! thanks all! <html> <head> <title>SEARCH RECORDS</title> </head> <body> <FORM NAME ="Search" METHOD ="POST" ACTION = "test3"> <INPUT TYPE = "TEXT" VALUE ="surname" NAME = "surname"> <INPUT TYPE = "Submit" Name = "Search" VALUE = "Search"> </FORM> </body> </html> <? $user_name = "*****"; $password = "*****"; $database = "*****"; $server = "localhost"; $db_handle = mysql_connect($server, $user_name, $password); $db_found = mysql_select_db($database, $db_handle); if ($db_found) { $SQL = "SELECT * FROM *****" WHERE surname=$_POST['surname']; $result = mysql_query($SQL); while ($db_field = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { print $db_field['Grave'] . "<BR>"; print $db_field['Surname'] . "<BR>"; print $db_field['Forenames'] . "<BR>"; print $db_field['Death_Date'] . "<BR>"; print $db_field['Birth_Year'] . "<BR>"; } mysql_close($db_handle); } else { print "Database NOT Found "; mysql_close($db_handle); } ?> I'm working on a web based RPG game, and I want the ability to run different "servers" but I'm not sure what the best way to go about it would be.
First idea: Create a table which would be named, "world" when a character is created, they get to choose a world to join, and then use world_id to know what items, mobs, npc, is in that world. Here is just a quick mock-up of the table.
Second idea: Create a whole new database for the game data, creature_game contains the accounts and forum data. While creature_server_x contains the rest of the game. The structure of each database would be exactly the same.
I want the people that runs the different "servers" to be able to do whatever changes they want, even if that would mean to rewrite the story line. I could do it with both the first and second idea. But I want to hear about what people here think is best and why. Ofc, they won't be able to access or change the tables inside the databases, just the data the tables contains.

I have the following tables: department id course id department_id CASCADE DELETE student id student_courses course_id CASCADE DELETE student_id CASCADE DELETEI also have the following REST API endpoints: DELETE department/123 (deletes targeted department and associated courses as well as the list of students in the course) DELETE course/321 (deletes targeted course as well as the list of students in the course) DELETE student/111 (deletes targeted student as well as the list of students in the course)The user should be informed before deleting a given record if that record will affect other tables. For instance, if deleting a department which has some courses or deleting a student which belows to a course. One option is to respond to DELETE department/123 with 400 {recordUsed: {courses:[bla, bla], student_courses:[bla, bla]}} if used. For this option, the client would then prompt the user of the implications and if desired repeat the request but include a "force" parameter of TRUE in the request which will delete the record regardless of being used. Another option is to add some new endpoints which will return the resources which are associated with the to be deleted entity. If empty, a DELETE request would automatically be made and if not empty the user will first be prompted whether the DELETE request should be made and the server would delete the record(s) regardless of being used. GET department/utilized/123 GET course/utilized/321 GET student/utilized/111Any thoughts on which approach should be used? Or maybe some other strategy? Thanks I am using Guzzle as a HTTP client, and the following script results in the following error: $response = $this->httpClient->request('GET', "http://$this->host:$this->port/query", ['query' => $data]); $body = $response->getBody(); $rs=json_decode($body, true); Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 136956008 bytes) in /var/www/vendor/guzzlehttp/psr7/src/Stream.php on line 80 What are the work arounds? Instead of trying to convert it into an array all at once, how can I do so in pieces? I know the expected format so it seems I will need to read just the appropriate amount of bytes and then decode parts at a time. Seems like a pain. Are there any classes designed to do so, or can any of the following Guzzle built in methods be used? Thanks Guzzle Response methods: __construct getStatusCode getReasonPhrase withStatus getProtocolVersion withProtocolVersion getHeaders hasHeader getHeader getHeaderLine withHeader withAddedHeader withoutHeader getBody withBodyGuzzle Body methods: __construct __destruct __toString getContents close detach getSize isReadable isWritable isSeekable eof tell rewind seek read write getMetadataHey guys, I'm a total newbie here, and just about as a new to php. My issue: I have a very large .html file that contain multiple articles (I actually have a few of these, but we'll start with one for practicality). The article titles are all wrapped in <h2> tags, there are 10 articles in one file. The articles are very simple, just a title wrapped with <h2> and then a few paragraphs wrapped in <p> tags. What I want to know how to do: I want to know if there's a way to open that file, and have each article saved as it's own .html or .txt document (the title & following paragraphs of each article). Ultimately taking my 1 large file, and creating the subsequent 10 smaller files from the articles inside of it. I am having trouble explaining this in text so I'll try to illustrate: I have "Articles.html" - which contains (article1,article2,article3.. ..article10) I want to split "Articles.html" and create "Article1.html", "Article2.html", "Article3.html", etc. Is that possible? Or am I looking at something far more complex than I can imagine at this point - perhaps something I'd be better off doing by hand? Ultimately I intend to stick all these articles into a database, but that's the 2nd part of what I want to do (and I think will be the easier of the tasks). Let me know if you need any additional information in the event my description above is unclear... I simply am having issues figuring out how to separate out the text into individual articles. The PHP code sends me an email from the server, but the user input is empty or "blank". I only receive: "From: \ Email: \ Subject: \ Message: " and that's it. How do I fix my PHP and/or HTML code to receive user input from the form? Attached is my existing HTML and PHP code that doesn't send me any "user input" from the form. Thanks to anyone who can help!!
Hi, can anyone help me?
I am trying to create a form which asks the user to input their postcode then submit. the purpose is so if the service my site offers is not available in the location that the end user lives, then I want to display a message saying 'Sorry, not available', but if they are in area then it redirects to another page.
My form code is:
<form method="post" action="forwarder.php"> <p> Enter Post Code He <input type = "text" name = "zip" id = "zip" size = "10" maxlength = "5" "> <input type='submit'> </form>My PHP is: <?php $zip = isset ($_POST['zip']) { if ($zip=='NG15') { header('Location: https://www.bing.com'); } else { header('Location: http://www.google.co.uk') } ?>I am a bit of a newbie at this, and I know my PHP won't give me my desired result, but I was using this to try and test the concept. Help would be really appreciated, and if you can show me how to do it for multiple postcodes even better Hi All Basically I have 4 fields in my database image2, image3, image4, image5 I have an image uploader to upload the files but I need what I need is if image2 is empty put in image3, if image3 is empty put in image4 so far I have this //so first is the query to find the right row which gives the variable $row //now here is what im doing if($row['image2']!==""){ //run this code } elseif($row['image3']!==""){ //run this code } elseif($row['image4']!==""){ //run this code } elseif($row['image5']!==""){ //run this code } Now the problem I'm having is the code that is always executing is the first one of $row['image2'] even if image2 has a value in the database it still runs that code and over writes the field in the database. It never moves on to field 3 or 4. Can someone please tell me if I've done something wrong. I'm not storing the image in the database just the name. Thanks Danny i have been been given a project to create a website where registered users can answer some mathematics test questions,after anwering the questions and submitting, they should be able to see the sumarry of their test score showing the questions they got correctly, the ones anwred wrongly and the test score. please someone should help me with a sample script in php. me email address is nelboy4u@yahoo.com
I'm working on a project that has a lot of different timezone options, and all I have from the users is their UTC offset. After weeks of doing tweaks, I come to new issues every time I add something, one would think it would be a lot easier to just get the correct time and day :) The latest issue is that when I try to rewrite a date to a better fomat, it disregards the GMT offset. Like this: 4/14/19, 12:00 PM GMT+2 (=$date) becomes ... 14-04-2019 10:00 when using this code: $bp_date_to_format = date_create_from_format('Y-m-d\TH:i:sP', $date); echo date_format($bp_date_to_format, 'd-m-Y H:i'); I figured it would just rewrite the format, keeping the exact time. It isn't. We do have all these sorts of localization functions as well, but because there doesn't seem to be one single standard (each 3rd party API connection we have uses its own default datetime format so it seems). // Remove UTC Text $UTC_offset = str_replace('UTC', '', $timezone); // Get Offset in Minutes if (stripos($UTC_offset, ':') !== false) { // Calculate seconds from offset list($hours, $minutes) = explode(':', $offset); $seconds = $hours * 60 * 60 + $minutes * 60; } else { $seconds = $UTC_offset * 60 * 60; } // Get User timezone name from seconds $timezone = timezone_name_from_abbr('', $seconds, 1); if ($timezone === false) { $timezone = timezone_name_from_abbr('', $seconds, 0); } // Set new TZ return date_default_timezone_set($timezone);
Isn't there any "one way"solution that can be used? It's confusing to say the least.
Cheers. Below is the screenshots and script for user page level access i have used it for one of my old projects. Code is working as it was intended. But it needs to be improvised. Users table
pages table , which has all the pages and links
Access level table. which has user id from users table and page id from pages table (for which user has access)
Once the user is created, admin gives access to the user on page basis, the permissions.php page looks like this The modules
Menus inside the modules
Pages in each menu
Here is my code for permission.php <div id="demo2-html"> <ul id="demo2" class="mnav"> <li><a href="#">Sales</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">Lead</a> <ul> <table class="table table-bordered table-striped table-hover"> <?php $s1 = mysqli_query($con, "SELECT pages.page_id as pid, pages.code, pages.page, pages.href, access_level.aid, access_level.page_id as pgid, access_level.user_id FROM pages LEFT JOIN access_level ON (pages.page_id=access_level.page_id AND access_level.user_id=".$user." ) WHERE pages.code='led'") or die(mysqli_error($con)); while($s2 = mysqli_fetch_array($s1)) { ?> <tr><li><td><?php echo $s2['page']; ?> </td><td><input type="checkbox" name="sn[]" value="<?php echo $s2['pid']; ?>" <?php if($s2['pgid'] === $s2['pid']) echo 'checked="checked"';?> /> <input type="hidden" value="<?php echo $s2['pid']; ?>" name="page_id[<?php echo $s2['pgid']; ?>]"> </td></li></tr> <?php } ?> </table> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">Customer</a> <ul> <table class="table table-bordered table-striped table-hover"> <?php $s1 = mysqli_query($con, "SELECT pages.page_id as pid, pages.code, pages.page, pages.href, access_level.aid, access_level.page_id as pgid, access_level.user_id FROM pages LEFT JOIN access_level ON (pages.page_id=access_level.page_id AND access_level.user_id=".$user." ) WHERE pages.code='cst'") or die(mysqli_error($con)); while($s2 = mysqli_fetch_array($s1)) { ?> <tr><li><td><?php echo $s2['page']; ?> </td><td><input type="checkbox" name="sn[]" value="<?php echo $s2['pid']; ?>" <?php if($s2['pgid'] === $s2['pid']) echo 'checked="checked"';?> /> <input type="hidden" value="<?php echo $s2['pid']; ?>" name="page_id[<?php echo $s2['pgid']; ?>]"> </td></li></tr> <?php } ?> </table> </ul> </li> //code goes for all the other modules </ul> </li> </ul> </div> <input type="hidden" name="user" value="<?php echo $user; ?>" /> <div class="row" align="center"> <input type="submit" name="submit" class="btn btn-success" value="Save" /> </form> // form Submission if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { $user = $_POST['user']; $sql = "DELETE FROM access_level WHERE user_id = ".$user.""; $query = mysqli_query($con, $sql) or die (mysqli_error($con)); foreach($_POST['sn'] as $sn) { $sql = "insert into access_level (page_id, user_id) values (".$sn.", ".$user.")"; $query = mysqli_query($con, $sql) or die (mysqli_error($con)); } if($query) { header("location:users.php?access=1"); } }
So against each user i am storing all the page ids here. When i edit any of the users, it deletes all the records and again insers new records. Which i feel is not a proper way to do. And in codewise also, i am redirecting the user to no_access.php (as below) page if the user do not have access. <?php ob_start(); include("connect.php"); include("admin_auth.php"); $q1 = basename($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'], '?' . $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING']); $q2 = $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; $var1 = "/".$q1; $qa_path=explode('/', $q2); $right_path = $qa_path[2].$var1; $parsedUrl = parse_url($q2); $curdir = dirname($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'])."/"; $m4 = "select p.page_id, p.code, p.page, p.href, al.aid, al.page_id, al.user_id FROM pages p INNER JOIN access_level al ON p.page_id=al.page_id WHERE al.user_id=".$_SESSION['user_id'].""; $m5 = mysqli_query($con, $m4) or die (mysqli_error($con)); while($nk1 = mysqli_fetch_array($m5)) { $href1[] = ($nk1['href']); } if(in_array($right_path, $href1)) { echo "<script type='text/javascript'> document.location = ".BASE_URL."/".$right_path."</script>"; } else { echo "<script type='text/javascript'> document.location = '../no_access.php' </script>"; exit(); } ?> I need help in improve and better/effective (structural) way to do this both in database and php script. |
