PHP - Error On Simple Form
I have an error somewhere in the form as it does not output what I want it too. I know the form itself is working as I have added an echo to see if the form inputs are processed.
the code: Code: [Select] <?php $amount = $_POST['amount']; $member = $_POST['member']; $sql = ("SELECT name FROM vtp_members WHERE name=".$member." "); $result = mysql_query($sql); $numrows = mysql_num_rows($result); if($numrows = '1') { while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_ASSOC)) { echo "You sent ". $amount . " to " . $member . ".<br />"; } } echo " ".$amount." and ".$member." "; ?> It outputs the last echo correct. is there anyone who can see what I'm doing wrong? Similar TutorialsI have a table called "colors". It has 2 columns, id and color. All I'm trying to do is pull the data into the form, then edit the colors (for example - misspelled, etc.) Then submit it back to the table. Here is the code that pulls the data into a form so I can edit it: Code: [Select] <form action="adminupdatecolors.php" method="post"> <table width="500" border="1" cellpadding="10"> <tr> <td>Color Options:</td> <td> <? $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM colors"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { echo '<input type="text" name="color[]" value="' . $row['color'] . '"/>' . $row['id'] . '<br />'; } ?> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td><input type="Submit" value="Update Colors"></td> </tr> </form> </table> Here is my update script: Code: [Select] <?php include("config.php"); include("db.php"); $id=$_POST['id']; $color=$_POST['color']; $result = mysql_query("SELECT id FROM colors ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 0,1"); if ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { $id = $row['id']; } $sql = "DELETE FROM colors WHERE id='$id'"; mysql_query($sql) or die("Error: ".mysql_error()); foreach ($color as $colorvalue) { $sql2 = "INSERT INTO colors (id,color) VALUES ($id,'$color')"; mysql_query($sql2) or die("Error: ".mysql_error()); } header("Location: " . $config_basedir . "adminhome.php"); ?> My error happens on line #81 is this statement right? it doesnt seem to work. Code: [Select] $sql = "SELECT id FROM units WHERE class=".getUnitClass($i); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1"); while($display = mysql_fetch_array($result)) if ($display['type'] == "yes") { $result2 = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table2 ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1"); while($display2 = mysql_fetch_array($result2)) echo ''. $display2['good'] .' <h1>'. $display['type'] .'</h1><img src="'. $display['answer'] .'">'; mysql_query("INSERT INTO ga (question, answer, image, comment) VALUES ('$_POST[text]','$display[type]','$display[answer]','$display2[good]')"); } else { $result3 = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table3 ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1"); while($display3 = mysql_fetch_array($result3)) echo ''. $display3['bad'] .' <h1>'. $display['type'] .'</h1><img src="'. $display['answer'] .'">'; mysql_query("INSERT INTO ga (question, answer, image, comment) VALUES ('$_POST[text]','$display[type]','$display[answer]','$display3[bad]')"); } it should insert four fields to db, question, answer, image, comment however it doesn't insert comment, i have no idea why. I have no idea why this isn't working at all... The file is not being uploaded and /tmp exists Hi everybody, my goal is to get the IP of someone accesing the site, writing the time and date along with his IP into the database. Of course, I would be adding the script to my frontpage when I make it work. But I get this error: Quote Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in D:\Program Files\xampp\xampp\htdocs\script1.php on line 8 I've checked line 8, I dont find anything in it that is out of place. However hence me beening here, it doesnt work. But I am having problems returning the error. I've created an array ($e) which has the field name ($e['field_name']) for the error, but it isn't displaying any errors. Thanks Im sure this is simple, but I cannot see what my problem is! I am hitting an error on my insert query Code: [Select] Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '1' at line 1 I know the output of $user_id is 1, so my error is on $mysavepath Code: [Select] $mysavepath = $folder.'/'.$worldname.'_'.date("dMjY"); echo $mysavepath; $savepath = mysql_query("INSERT INTO saves (user_id,savepath) VALUES ('$user_id','$mysavepath')"); echo '<br>'.$savepath; if(!mysql_query($savepath)) { die('<br>Error: ' . mysql_error()); } however it all echos out ok? Cheers Dave This is absolutely stupid. I'm debugging PHP in Eclipse PDT with XDebug and XAMPP on Windows 7. A section of code has been working for weeks. Suddenly I'm told the following is a syntax error (line 226) $forumtitle = $forum['title']; $threadtitle = $thread['title']; Eclipse matches bracket and normally clipse would highlight [ when I put the cursor behind ]. Not here. On similar statements before this I changed ' (single quote) to (double quote)". The brackets [ and ] highlighted correctly but the " produced a louder syntax error.. Then I simply removed the single quotes. No syntax error. Brackets match. But I will probably get a syntax error. Usually stupidity like this indicates a quote problem somewhere before this code. After looking very hard, I see none. It feels like something is wrong with the Eclipse editor and something has to be reset. But what? I would appreciate any help. Hi Everyone, Just wondered if someone could quickly help me out, im building a simple login system for my website but having a little bit of trouble, the error i keep getting is: Quote Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/sites/cuju8.com/public_html/include.php:18) in /home/sites/cuju8.com/public_html/login.php on line 12 I have done some research but cant find the answer to this, my login script is as follows: Code: [Select] <?php require_once('include.php'); $error = ''; $form = $_POST['submit']; $email = $_POST['email']; $password = $_POST['password']; if( isset($form) ) { if( isset($email) && isset($password) && $email !== '' && $password !== '' ) { $sql = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `usersystem` WHERE email='$email' and password='$password';"); if( mysql_num_rows($sql) != 0 ) { //success $_SESSION['logged-in'] = true; [b]header('Location: members.php');[/b] exit; } else { $error = "Incorrect login info"; } } else { $error = 'All information is not filled out correctly';} } ?> I think its the header location code thats causing the problem but im not sure where to move it too. If anyone could help i would really appreciate it. Cheers Hello, I have coded a contact form in PHP and I want to know, if according to you, it is secure! I am new in PHP, so I want some feedback from you. Moreover, I have also two problems based on the contact form. It is a bit complicated to explain, thus, I will break each of my problem one by one. FIRST:The first thing I want to know, is if my contact form secure according to you: The HTML with the PHP codes: Code: [Select] <?php if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == 'POST') { //Assigning variables to elements $first = htmlentities($_POST['first']); $last = htmlentities($_POST['last']); $sub = htmlentities($_POST['subject']); $email = htmlentities($_POST['email']); $web = htmlentities($_POST['website']); $heard = htmlentities($_POST['heard']); $comment = htmlentities($_POST['message']); $cap = htmlentities($_POST['captcha']); //Declaring the email address with body content $to = 'alithebestofall2010@gmail.com'; $body ="First name: '$first' \n\n Last name: '$last' \n\n Subject: '$sub' \n\n Email: '$email' \n\n Website: '$web' \n\n Heard from us: '$heard' \n\n Comments: '$comment'"; //Validate the forms if (empty($first) || empty($last) || empty($sub) || empty($email) || empty($comment) || empty($cap)) { echo '<p class="error">Required fields must be filled!</p>'; header ('refresh= 3; url= index.php'); return false; } elseif (filter_var($first, FILTER_VALIDATE_INT) || filter_var($last, FILTER_VALIDATE_INT)) { echo '<p class="error">You cannot enter a number as either the first or last name!</p>'; return false; } elseif (!filter_var($email, FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)) { echo '<p class="error">Incorrect email address!</p>'; return false; } elseif (!($cap === '12')){ echo '<p class="error">Invalid captcha, try again!</p>'; return false; } else { mail ($to, $sub, $body); echo '<p class="success">Thank you for contacting us!</p>'; } } ?> <form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'];?>" method="post"> <p>Your first name: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><input type="text" name="first" size="40" placeholder="Ex: Paul"/></p> <p>Your last name: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><input type="text" name="last" size="40" placeholder="Ex: Smith"/></p> <p>Subject: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><input type="text" name="subject" size="40" placeholder="Ex: Contact"/></p> <p>Your email address: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><input type="text" name="email" size="40" placeholder="Ex: example@xxx.com"/></p> <p>Website:</p> <p><input type="text" name="website" size="40" placeholder="Ex: http//:google.com"/></p> <p>Where you have heard us?: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><select name="heard"> <option>Internet</option> <option>Newspapers</option> <option>Friends or relatives</option> <option>Others</option> </select></p> <p>Your message: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><textarea cols="75" rows="20" name="message"></textarea></p> <p>Are you human? Sum this please: 5 + 7 = ?: <span class="required">*</span></p></p> <p><input type="text" name="captcha" size="10"/></p> <p><input type="submit" name="submit" value="Send" class="button"/> <input type="reset" value="Reset" class="button"/></p> </form> SECOND PROBLEM:If a user has made a mistake, he gets the error message so that he can correct! However, when a mistake in the form occurs, all the data the user has entered are disappeared! I want the data to keep appearing so that the user does not start over again to fill the form. THIRD: When the erro message is displayed to notify the user that he made a mistake when submitting the form, the message is displaying on the top of the page. I want it to appear below each respective field. How to do that? In JQuery it is simple, but in PHP, I am confusing! Hello, first time poster.. I've looked the web over for a long time and can't figure this one out. - Below is basic code that successfully checks MySQL for a match and displays result. I was debugging and forced the "height" and "width" to be 24 and 36 to make sure that wasn't the problem. That's good.. - I'd like to give the user ability to select width and height from a form.. and have it do an onchange this.form.submit so the form can be changing as fields are altered (thus the onchange interaction) - In a normal coding environment I've done this numerous times with no "Page cannot be displayed" problems. It would simply change one select-option value at a time til they get down the form and click submit... but in WordPress I'm having trouble making even ONE single onchange work! - I've implemented the plugins they offer which allows you to "copy+paste" your php code directly into their wysiwyg editor. That works with basic tests like my first bullet point above. - I've copied and pasted the wordpress url (including the little ?page_id=123) into the form "action" url... that didn't work... tried forcing it into an <option value=""> tag.. didn't work. I'm just not sure. I've obviously put xx's in place of private info.. Why does this form give me Page Cannot Be Displayed in WordPress every time? It won't do anything no matter how simple.. using onchange.. Code.. $con = mysql_connect("xxxx.xxxxxxx.com","xxxxxx","xxxxx"); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("xxxxxx", $con); $myprodwidth=24; $myprodheight=36; $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM product_sizes WHERE prodwidth='$myprodwidth' and prodheight='$myprodheight'"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo $row['prodprice']; } mysql_close($con); <form method="post" action=""> <select name="myheight" onchange="this.form.submit();"> <option selected="selected" value="">select height</option> <option value="xxxxxxxxx.com/wordpress/?page_id=199&height=36">36</option> <option value="xxxxxxxxx.com/wordpress/?page_id=199&height=36">48</option> </select> i have this code <?php require_once('dbconnect.php') $user = "test"; $pass = "test"; $result=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM accounts WHERE user = '$user' AND pass = '$pass' "); if(mysql_num_rows($result) == 0) { $login = "&err=Login Failed."; echo($login); } else { $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); $user = $row['user']; $pass = $row['pass']; $login = "&user=".$user."&pass=".$pass."&err=Login Successful."; echo($login); } ?> and im getting this Parse error: parse error in C:\wamp\www\flashstuff\WTF.php on line 4 line 4 is: $user = "test"; all the dbconnect stuff is fine help! PHP = 5.5.14
MySQL = 5.2.17
I've cloned a mysqli_connect() statement in a 'require' file placed in a non-public access location on the server. It's the same format (and location) currently working fine with another application, EXCEPT i changed the database name to what I need to use for this application, AND added the $con= part on the front end to substitute for the commented out $con= line in the example code I'm modifying to insert data into a new MySQL DB Table.
The dB Table is fine and I have Inserted data via myPHPAdmin with no problems. Only two form variables are in the simple PHP script thus far just to test if it will work before proceeding.
I've used pseudonames for the actual /home/.... location and filename, and am now Baffled about the Line 2 Error Message I'm getting (below the code).
<?php require '/home/myusername/domains/mydomain.com/myclonedrequire.php'; //$con=mysqli_connect("example","uid","pwd","my_db"); // Check connection if (mysqli_connect_errno()) { echo "Failed to connect to MySQL: " . mysqli_connect_error(); } // escape variables for security $year = mysqli_real_escape_string($con, $_POST['year']); $callsign = mysqli_real_escape_string($con, $_POST['callsign']); $sql="INSERT INTO `lqplogs` (`year`, `callsign`) VALUES ('$year', '$callsign'); if (!mysqli_query($con,$sql)) { die('Error: ' . mysqli_error($con)); } echo "1 record added"; mysqli_close($con); ?>ERROR Message: Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in (above file & location) on line 2 There are NO '\' characters in any of my files. The offending lines are 609 and 940, which both contain this construct: if ($this->size>0) $this->char = $this->doc[0]; This tries to get the first character of $this->doc, but PHP 5.2 sees it as trying to access it as an array. It's easily fixed by this: if ($this->size>0) $this->char = substr($this->doc, 0, 1); Or you could probably use chr(ord($this->doc)) as well. Either way solves the compile error without changing functionality. ++++++++++++++++ Here are my codes: Code: [Select] <?php # don't forget the library include('simple_html_dom.php'); # this is the global array we fill with article information $articles = array(); $source = 'http://www.athlonsports.com/columns/winning-game-plan/fantasy-football-qb-rankings'; # passing in the first page to parse, it will crawl to the end # on its own getArticles($source); function getArticles($page) { global $articles, $descriptions; $html = new simple_html_dom(); $html->load_file($page); //$items = $html->find('div[class=preview]'); $items = $html->find('tbody tr'); foreach($items as $post) { # remember comments count as nodes /*$articles[] = array($post->children(3)->outertext, $post->children(6)->first_child()->outertext);*/ $articles[] = array($post->children(0), $post->children(1), $post->children(2), $post->children(3), $post->children(4)); } # lets see if there's a next page if($next = $html->find('a[class=nextpostslink]', 0)) { $URL = $next->href; echo "going on to $URL <<<\n"; # memory leak clean up $html->clear(); unset($html); getArticles($URL); } } ?> <html> <head> </head> <body> <? echo "Source: " . $source; ?> <table cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <?php foreach($articles as $item) { echo "<tr>"; echo "<td>" . $item[0] . "</td>"; echo "<tr>"; } ?> </table> </body> </html> Okay, I have no idea how this works out but this is really getting on my nerves. Here is my logic for the following code. I manually register a user, It goes into the database and dispatches an email notification explaining that a user must activate their account and change their user name (OPTIONAL) and password. In the email, There is an automatically generated password with the username, And a link to activate the account. This leads to stage 1 of the activation process, In this stage the user is accepted, Registered as a verified user and then is sent to another page to change the details like login and password. As far as I know this page works except through trial and error I found that this little snippet of code is causing browsers to show an error 500 page, If I remove this the page works: <?php if($messages){ displayErrors($messages); } else { echo("<p align=\"center\" class=\"standard\">Your account has been activated.</p><p align=\"center\" class=\"standard\">You now need to change your password.
