PHP - Tutorial For Showing Table Information In A For?
Hi,
I am very new to php and im trying to work out a bit of code... I googled for help but im just stuck at this point... <input type="text" name="rates1" value="<?php echo $rates; ?>"> How can I echo rates1 to reflect whats in a table... Thanks in advance... Similar TutorialsI have a question regarding my email form submission. The email seems to work fine, but the recipient of the email can view my server information (see attached image for example) there are many website hosted on my server and i would like to hide the server info on form submissions. does anyone know of a way to do this? thanks I Have a protected members section on my site for staff. I would like it so that information specific to that member of staff would appear on their homepage straight after login. Just basic information that is stored on a MySQL database so they can login and check appointments and clients etc for the week etc. is this something that is possible to do in PHP and MySQL? or am I going mad? At the moment I have the entire table on the members homepage and the only way I've figured out to specify a member to only show one users information is to use - (SELECT * FROM Tutors WHERE name = 'XXX'. I don't like this method as it would mean i would have to have a separate files for each member. I was hoping I could do something along the lines of - WHERE name = ' relative to the login name used'. but I am sure I am flogging a dead horse here. So many websites do this kind of thing and I'm surprised after scouring the net for hours and hours that I haven't found any useful information or tutorials on the subject. I am fairly new to programming in PHP and MySQL and am only just getting to grips with the lingo. Maybe I've just been seacrhing the wrong thing, I don't Know. Any help at all would be amazing and much appreciated, a nudge in the right direction would be a start as I'm getting nowhere on my own THANKS im a complete novice. im using one of the tutorials on here to make a simple search form. the bit of script that i think outputs the results is $results = array(); // the result array $i = 1; while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($searchResult)) { $results[] = "{$i}: {$row['placing']},   {$row['racedate']},   {$row['horseid']}<br /><br />"; $i++; how do i make these results appear in a table, and how would i make it so there was a link on the date that clicked would show all the races on that day? sorry i advance as this is probably the most dumb of questions! hi... i have a table ... i add and remove data in the table...when i add new record , information add to center of the table ! whats problem? i want add data in first of table. please guide me.thanks
Hi Everyone, I'm trying to figure out a way to put my MySql data into a table. I'm close to getting this completed by I'm having some trouble. The data I'm inserting isn't being put into the correct tables. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help? http://whatsmyowncarworth.com/practice/table.php Code: [Select] <?php include('init.php'); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM info") or die(mysql_error()); echo "<table border='1'>"; echo "<tr> <th>Name</th> <th>Last Name</th> <th>Address</th> <th>City</th> </tr>"; // keeps getting the next row until there are no more to get while($row = mysql_fetch_array( $result )) { // Print out the contents of each row into a table echo "<tr><td>"; echo $row['first_name']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['last_name']; echo "</td></tr>"; echo "<tr><td>"; echo $row['address']; echo "</td><td>"; echo $row['city']; echo "</td></tr>"; } echo "</table>"; ?> Have never done this before, but I'm sure many of you have. What I am trying to do is take the information that the user fills out in this form and when they hit submit, it will be displayed into a html table on the next page. I don't need someone to do the entire table for me, just looking for some help to get started and a general idea of what to do. Here is my code for my form that I have created... " Results have been found!"; is giving me a numbers of rows. The problem is the rows that have been found is not showing up in the html row. I wonder what the problem is.. anyone? I was wondering how does one go about showing results from SELECT query in columns in a html table. I have a list of products in a table, and would like to show them on the page in 4 columns. I have done many searches on google to try and find the sulution, but the majority of what im finding instead is about displaying a table from phpmyadmin as a table in html. If its a large operation to do this, I would be very happy if someone could poiint me in the direction of a tutorial maybe. Here is the code I have so far to display the products, but for some reason, it only show 1 row instead of all the rows from my table. Code: [Select] <?php $dbhost = "localhost"; $dbuser = "user"; $dbpass = "pass"; $dbname = "dbname"; mysql_connect ($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass)or die("Could not connect: ".mysql_error()); mysql_select_db($dbname) or die(mysql_error()); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM mcproducts"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $products_local_id = $row['products_local_id']; $productname = $row['product_name']; $thumburl = $row['image_from_url']; $productlink = $row['product_local_url']; $thumbnail = $row['product_image_small']; $currencysymbol = $row['product_currency']; $price = $row['product_price']; $flagicon = $row['product_country_from']; } ?> <html> <head> <link href="style/stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <div class="displaybox"> <div class="productimage"> <a href="<?php echo $productlink; ?><?php echo $products_local_id; ?>"><img src="<?php echo $thumburl; ?><?php echo $thumbnail ?>" width="150" height="150"></a> </div> <div class="productdescription"> <div class="pro_name"> <a href="<?php echo $productlink ?><?php echo $products_local_id; ?>"><?php echo $productname; ?></a> </div> <div class="pro_description"> </div> <?php if ($flagicon=="Ireland") { $flagicon = "<img src=\"flags/ireland.jpg\">"; } elseif ($flagicon=="UK") { $flagicon = "<img src=\"flags/uk.jpg\">"; } else echo ""; ?> <div class="pro_description"><?php echo $flagicon; ?><?php echo $currencysymbol ?> <?php echo $price ?></div> </div> </div> </body> </html> Many thanks, DB Hi all, just to get this out of the way i have now been working on html / css / php / mysql coding for about 3 weeks. So i dont know too much, on to the problem... I am creating a database for asset managment in and out of our shop I have setup the db and it works with no issues. So I am currently trying to add fluff as i put it. The guys in the shop want the web page to have a table of information on what is in the shop and when they click on the asset number in the table they want it to open a new page where you can edit the database information of that item. I have no clue how to emplement this after reading diffrent ideas for about 4 hours today I am just stuck and confused. any ideas or tips would be helpfull This first block of code is my status page. Code: [Select] <style> tr {font-size:24px;} button {width:120px} </style> <body topmargin="50px"> <?php session_start(); include("../../Connections/db_connection.php"); $table = "shop_inventory"; mysql_select_db("$db_database", $connect); unset ($db_username, $db_password); $currenttime = getdate(); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM shop_inventory WHERE In_Shop='1'"); $test = mysql_fetch_array($result); echo "<table border='1' align='center' style='text-align:center' cellpadding='10' width='100%'> <tr> <th>Asset number</th> <th>Building</th> <th>Room number</th> <th>In date</th> </tr>"; $_SESSION['array_row'] = $test; while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $style = ''; //if ($currenttime - $row['Entered_Shop_Time'] == 0 || 1) $style = 'style="background-color:#00FF00"'; echo "<tr>"; echo "<td> <button onClick=../subpages/edititems.php>" . $row['Asset'] . "</button> </td>"; echo "<td>" . $row['Building'] . "</td>"; echo "<td>" . $row['Room_Number'] . "</td>"; echo "<td $style>" . date("F j, Y", strtotime($row['Entered_Shop_Time'])) . "</td>"; echo "</tr>"; } echo "</table>"; mysql_close($connect); ?> </body> This second block of code is the page where i want to dump the table info into for editing. Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); include("../../Connections/db_connection.php"); $table = "shop_inventory"; mysql_select_db("$db_database", $connect); unset ($db_username, $db_password); //$Asset = $_POST['Asset']; $Session = $_SESSION['array_row']; //$data = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM shop_inventory WHERE Asset=$session"); //$query = mysql_query($data) or die ("Cannot select database." . mysql_error()); //$Session = mysql_fetch_array($data); ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Add Items</title> </head> <body> <div style=" padding-top:5px;"> <h1><center>Add New Items</center></h1> </div> <form name="myForm" action="afteredititems.php" method="post"> Asset Number: <input type="text" name="Asset" value="<?php echo $Session['Asset']?>"/><br /><br /> Manufactu <input type="text" name="Manufacture" value="<?php echo $Session['Manufacture']?>"/><br /><br /> Model: <input type="text" name="Model" value="<?php echo $Session['Model']?>"/><br /><br /> Serial Number: <input type="text" name="Serial_Number" value="<?php echo $Session['Serial_Number']?>"/><br /><br /> Building: <input type="text" name="Building" value="<?php echo $Session['Building']?>"/><br /><br /> Room Number: <input type="text" name="Room_Number" value="<?php echo $Session['Room_Number']?>"/><br /><br /> <input type="hidden" name="In_Shop" value="1"/> Type of Equipment: <select name="Type" value="<?php echo $Session['Type']?>"> <option value="desktop">Desktop</option> <option value="laptop">Laptop</option> <option value="ipad">Ipad</option> <option value="ipod">Ipod</option> <option value="projector">Projector</option> <option value="printer">Printer</option> </select><br /> <br /> <center><input type="submit" value="Add Item"/></center> </form> </body> </html> And lastly I have a page that redisplays the edited information. After doing all the digging i found out about sessions and how they are used to pass data, I thought it would be a good method but I just could not figure out how to send information from the table if the table is reciving its info from an array. any help would be appreciated thanks. I am pretty new to PHP and am trying to create a simple (so I assumed) page to takes data from one html page(works fine) and updates a MYSQL Database. I am getting no error message, but the connect string down to the end of the body section is showing up as plain text in my browser window. I do not know how to correct this. I have tried using two different types of connect strings and have verified my names from the HTML page are the same as listed within the php page. Suggestions on what I need to look for to correct would be great. I have looked online, but so far all I am getting is how to connect, or how to create a comment, so I thought I would try here. Thank you for any assistance I may get!! - Amy - Code: [Select] <body><font color="006600"> <div style="background-color:#f9f9dd;"> <fieldset> <h1>Asset Entry Results</h1> <?php // create short variable names $tag=$_POST['tag']; $serial=$_POST['serial']; $category=$_POST['category']; $status=$_POST['status']; $branch=$_POST['branch']; $comments=$_POST['comments']; if (!$tag || !$serial || !$category || !$status || !$branch) { echo "You have not entered all the required details.<br />" ."Please go back and try again."; exit; } if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $tag = addslashes($tag); $serial = addslashes($serial); $category = addslashes($category); $status = addslashes($status); $branch = addslashes($branch); $comments = addslashes($comments); } //@ $db = new mysqli('localhost', 'id', 'pw', 'inventory'); $db = DBI->connect("dbi:mysql:inventory:localhost","id","pw") or die("couldnt connect to database"); $query = "insert into assets values ('".$serial."', '".$tag."', '".$branch."', '".$status."', '".$category."', '".$comments."')"; $result = $db->query($query); if ($result) { echo $db->affected_rows." asset inserted into Inventory."; } else { echo "An error has occurred. This topic has been moved to Miscellaneous. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=308352.0 I followed the tutorial at http://www.devshed.com/c/a/PHP/Building-An-Extensible-Form-Validator-Class/ because I wanted to have an easier way to build and maintain form validation. I completed the tutorial, but the form does not register the form as being filled out. Here is the class code (FormValidator.class.inc) <?php //FormValidator.class.inc //class to perform form validation class FormValidator { //---------------private variables------------------ var $_errorList; //the _ prefix is used to distinguish private variables from public variables //---------------methods (private)------------------ //functio to get the value of a variable (field) function _getValue($field) { global ${$field}; //makes the field entry a global variable return ${$field}; } //---------------methods (public)------------------- //it is a good idea to run resetErrorList() whenever the class is first initialized //PHP makes it possible to automatically execute a specific function when a new instance of a class is spawned. This function is referred to as a "constructor" and must have the same name as the class. //reset error list function FormValidator() { $this->resetErrorList(); } //begin basic validation routines //check whether input is empty //the isEmpty public method is called with 2 arguments, one for the form variable and one for the error message //the method internally calls the _getValue method and then trim()s the result to check if it is empty // if the variable is empty, a new element is added class variable $_errorList (an array) to represent the error. This new element is itself a three-element associative array, with the keys "field", "value" and "msg", representing the form variable name, the current value of that variable, and the corresponding error message // if the variable is not empty, it will pass the test and return true // this function, along with _getValue, allows the user to get both the field name and the field value //the $this prefix provides a convenient way to access variables and functions which are "local" to the class. function isEmpty($field, $msg) { $value = $this->_getValue($field);
