PHP - Matching File Names With Mysql Queries / Stripping Capital Letters...
In querying my database, I'm Selecting nameFirst and nameLast, and it produces a name like Joe Smith. I'm trying to match a photo with the name. Right now I'm uploading photos into a folder naming the file (e.g. SmithJoe.jpg).
For reasons that involve writers being able to upload and access photos, I'm trying to use an image plugin. When uploading photos, it strips capital letters, so SmithJoe,jpg goes in as smithjoe.jpg, and it's not matching my database query. Here is the code I'm working with that works quite well with this one exception: $query = 'SELECT * FROM wp_playerRank'; $results = mysql_query($query); while($line = mysql_fetch_assoc($results)) { if ($line['wpID'] == $wp_tagID) { echo '<div class="player">'; // Here is the code that produces the image. I need to get rid of capital letters for ease of use echo '<div><img src="/wp-content/uploads/' . $line['nameLast'] . $line['nameFirst'] . '.jpg"></div>'; echo '<div class="playerData">' . $line['height'] . ' '; if ($line['position'] == 'PG') {echo 'Point Guard';} elseif ($line['position'] == 'SG') {echo 'Shooting Guard';} elseif ($line['position'] == 'SF') {echo 'Small Forward';} elseif ($line['position'] == 'PF') {echo 'Power Forward';} elseif ($line['position'] == 'C') {echo 'Center';} echo '</div>'; echo '<div class="playerData">' . $line['hschool'] . '</div>'; echo '<div class="playerData">' . $line['summer'] . '</div>'; echo '<div class="playerData">Class of ' .$line['year'] . '</div>'; if ($line['committed'] == 'y') { echo '<div> <br>Committed to <strong>'. $line['college'] . '</strong></div> ';} } } Similar TutorialsMy script forces all names to start with a capital and lower case for the rest. However, some names have a ' or - in them. For example: Rosie O'Donnell or Carrie-Anne Moss With the script, the "D" in O'Donnell is lower case and the "A" in Anne is lower case. What do I need to do to make them capital? Here is what I am using: Code: [Select] <?php echo ucwords(strtolower($row_persons['last_name'])) ?>, <?php echo ucwords(strtolower($row_persons['first_name'])) ?> Hi. I have a standard HTML multiform working. Inputs from here goes into a MySQL table, and is re-used in the website. I want all inputs saved in the database as capital letters, to get a more clean overview, both in the database and on the website. I would also like to know where to insert this new line of code (if any) The first form input field looks like this: <input type="text" name="artist"/> Best regards Morris I can get files to upload to folder and add a new row for each in to a mysql db using the code below, how do I get all the filles in one row with multiple uploads Code: [Select] //Check if the form was submitted. if(isset($_POST['uploadButton'])) { //Specify folder path where the file is going. $path = 'uploads/'; //Upload file one by one. foreach($_FILES['file']['name'] as $key => $val) { if($val != '') { $file_name = $_FILES['file']['name'][$key]; //Get file name. $file_tmp = $_FILES['file']['tmp_name'][$key]; //Get temporary file name. $file = $path . $file_name; mysql_query("INSERT INTO images (img1) VALUES('$file');") or trigger_error('Unable to INsert: ' . mysql_error()); //Move uploaded file if(move_uploaded_file($file_tmp, $file)) { echo 'File was succesfully uploaded to: ' . $file . '<br />'; } else { //Display error message if there was a problem uploading file. echo 'Error uploading file "' . $key . '."<br />'; } echo $target_path; } } } ?> My Php Buddies, I have mysql tbl columns these:
id: Now, I want to display their row data by excluded a few columns. Want to exclude these columns: date_&_time account_activation_code account_activation_status id_verification_video_file_url password
So, the User's (eg. your's) homepage inside his account should display labels like these where labels match the column names but the underscores are removed and each words' first chars CAPITALISED:
Id: 1
For your convenience only PART 1 works. Need help on Part 2 My attempted code:
PART 1 <?php // Check connection if ($conn->connect_error) { die("Connection failed: " . $conn->connect_error); } // Query to get columns from table $query = $conn->query("SELECT COLUMN_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA = 'members' AND TABLE_NAME = 'users'"); while($row = $query->fetch_assoc()){ $result[] = $row; } // Array of all column names $columnArr = array_column($result, 'COLUMN_NAME'); foreach ($columnArr as $value) { echo "<b>$value</b>: ";?><br><?php } ?> PART 2 <?php //Display User Account Details echo "<h3>User: <a href=\"user.php?user=$user\">$user</a> Details</h3>";?><br> <?php $excluded_columns = array("date_&_time","account_activation_code","account_activation_status","id_verification_video_file_url","password"); foreach ($excluded_columns as $value2) { echo "Excluded Column: <b>$value2</b><br>"; } foreach ($columnArr as $value) { if($value != "$value2") { $label = str_replace("_"," ","$value"); $label = ucwords("$label"); //echo "<b>$label</b>: "; echo "$_SESSION[$value]";?><br><?php echo "<b>$label</b>: "; echo "${$value}";?><br><?php } } ?> PROBLEM: Columns from the excluded list still get displayed. Edited November 19, 2018 by phpsaneHey everyone, I'm pretty new to this, not my full time job, but just something I thought I'd give a shot... I have a database, in postgres, in which I make my query and I go fetch all the info I need. What I need to do next is the tricky part for me. For each line of results received, I have to output to a text file (.txt) but I have to respect a format that was given to me from the person requesting the info. Example: Character 1 must be G or N. Character 2 to to 11 will be a result from my database search, which is a 10 digit string. Character 12 to 14 must be spaces. Another rule is: start at character 78: input a value from my database search but it must not exceed 20 characters and if it is less then 20 character, fill the remaining with spaces. If anyways has a code I can copy and work off of I would really appreciate it....thanks! I was wondering how I would go about doing a sorting of a new element being added on the page. This element would have to be alphabetically sorted into the existing elements onto the page. For example: I am making a file manager, so when a user creates a new file, it would be sorted into the already existing files and displayed in the spot that it should.
All necessary details would be provided by PHP, so I would only need help with the JavaScript part.
Honestly, I have no clue how I would get around to doing that. I was thinking earlier that it would involve looping through each class of file_name and getting the text() value. Then add all of the values into an array and sorting it somehow. Then it would be getting the <tr> of which file_name is before it, and then append under it somehow.
I'm not asking for any free code, but I was wondering which (JavaScript/JQuery) functions I would be looking for. I was also wondering if the idea I had would be beneficial or not, or if there were any other ways. Here is how the files are displayed as is:
<?php // There may be undefined variables, this is only part of it $return = '<table id="manager" class="table table-bordered"> <thead> <tr class="table_header"> <th><input id="select" type="checkbox"></th> <th>Name</th> <th>Size</th> <th>Last Modified</th> <th>Type</th> <th>Permissions</th> <th></th> </tr> </thead> <tbody>'; $path = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']; // Scan the directory and remove the paths from the result $files = array_diff(scandir($path), array(".", "..")); // Get the number of files in the directory $num_files = count($files); // If there are no files in the directory, return the empty directory variable we defined earlier if($num_files == 0) return $empty_dir; $directory_array = array(); $file_array = array(); foreach($files as $file) { // Set the path correctly $file_path = $path."/".$file; // If the item is a directory if(is_dir($file_path)) $directory_array[] = $file; // The item is a file else $file_array[] = $file; } // Sort each of the arrays alphabetically sort($directory_array); sort($file_array); // Merge the directories and files into one array - directories shown first $files = array_merge($directory_array, $file_array); // Loop through the items foreach($files as $file) { $file_name = $file; // Set the path correctly $file = $path."/".$file; // Get the information for the file if(is_dir($file)) $file_size = "--"; else $file_size = @filesize($file); if($file_size === false) { $checkbox = '<input id="files_check" type="checkbox" name="files[]" value="'.htmlentities($file_name).'">'; $file_name = htmlentities($file_name). " - <b>Fatal Error Reading</b>"; $file_size = "--"; $last_modified = "--"; $type = "--"; $permissions = "--"; $actions = "--"; } else { $finfo = finfo_open(FILEINFO_MIME_TYPE); $checkbox = '<input id="files_check" type="checkbox" name="files[]" value="'.htmlentities($file_name).'">'; if(is_dir($file)) { $file_name = '<i class="icon-folder-open"></i> <a href="manager.php?path='.htmlentities($file_name).'/">'.htmlentities($file_name).'</a>'; } else { $file_name = '<i class="icon-file"></i> <a href="manager/view_contents.php?file=/'.htmlentities($file_name).'&token='.htmlentities($_SESSION['secure_token']).'">'.htmlentities($file_name).'</a>'; } $file_size = htmlentities(get_appropriate_size($file_size)); $last_modified = htmlentities(get_appropriate_date(filemtime($file))); $type = htmlentities(finfo_file($finfo, $file)); $permissions = htmlentities(substr(sprintf('%o', fileperms($file)), -4)); $actions = '<i class="actions"></i>'; } $return .= "<tr> <td>{$checkbox}</td> <td class='file_name'>{$file_name}</td> <td>{$file_size}</td> <td>{$last_modified}</td> <td>{$type}</td> <td class='permissions'>{$permissions}</td> <td class='action'>{$actions}</td> </tr>"; } $return .= '</tbody> </table>'; return $return; ?> Hey guys having a bit of bother here, I don't understand why my PHP script isn't working.
So I will first show the code and then go over the issue I am having:
include('select-stock.php'); include('db-affinity/header-main.php'); ?> <?php $carId = $_GET['id']; ?> <?php try { $carview = $db->prepare("SELECT Make, Model, Colour, FuelType, Year, Mileage, Bodytype, Doors, Variant, EngineSize, Price, Transmission, PictureRefs, ServiceHistory, PreviousOwners, Options, FourWheelDrive, FullRegistration FROM import WHERE FullRegistration = $carId"); } catch (Exception $e) { echo "Error."; exit; } $cardata = $carview->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC) ?> <div class="container"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-md-12 col-sm-12"> <?php echo "$carId"; ?> <?php echo mysql_errno($carview) ?> <?php echo '<ul class="overwrite-btstrp-ul other-specs-ul h4-style"> <li>Mileage: '.number_format($cardata["Mileage"]).'</li> <li>Engine size: '.$cardata["EngineSize"].'cc</li> </ul>' ?> </div> </div> </div> <?php include('db-affinity/footer.php') ?>So basically what I am trying to achieve from this code is giving my page dynamic content based on if the the ?id= of a URL matches a row of my 'FullRegistration' column. So for example if I have a URL like this "www.cars.com/carview.php?id=NG61CWJ" I then want my script check if there is a row that has that value in the 'FullRegistration' column of my table and then echo out the results of certain columns of that row like this example currently in my code: <?php echo '<ul class="overwrite-btstrp-ul other-specs-ul h4-style"> <li>Mileage: '.number_format($cardata["Mileage"]).'</li> <li>Engine size: '.$cardata["EngineSize"].'cc</li> </ul>' ?>In theory FROM import WHERE FullRegistration = $carIdshould make this happen however for some reason on my server when I use the script above I get nil results returned instead of the results of the row that matches the GET id I get: Mileage: 0 Engine size: cc I am aware my code is insecure at the moment however it isn't an issue at this moment in time. Any ideas why I might be getting nil results returned, my other queries to this table have worked flawlessly however I am having bother with this one, can you see anything in this code that might cause this issue? Here is the database connection file that is included at the top of the code block just in case this could be a bit of a problem: <?php include('database.php'); try { $results = $db->query("SELECT Make, Model, Colour, FuelType, Year, Mileage, Bodytype, Doors, Variant, EngineSize, Price, Transmission, PictureRefs, ServiceHistory, PreviousOwners, Options, FourWheelDrive, FullRegistration FROM import ORDER BY Make ASC"); } catch (Exception $e) { echo "Error."; exit; } ///carousel-vehicle results try { $fourresults = $db->query("SELECT Make, Model, Colour, FuelType, Year, Mileage, Bodytype, Doors, Variant, EngineSize, Price, Transmission, PictureRefs, ServiceHistory, PreviousOwners, Options, FourWheelDrive FROM import ORDER BY Make LIMIT 0, 4"); } catch (Exception $e) { echo "Error."; exit; } try { $fourresultsone = $db->query("SELECT Make, Model, Colour, FuelType, Year, Mileage, Bodytype, Doors, Variant, EngineSize, Price, Transmission, PictureRefs, ServiceHistory, PreviousOwners, Options, FourWheelDrive FROM import ORDER BY Make LIMIT 4, 4"); } catch (Exception $e) { echo "Error."; exit; } try { $fourresultstwo = $db->query("SELECT Make, Model, Colour, FuelType, Year, Mileage, Bodytype, Doors, Variant, EngineSize, Price, Transmission, PictureRefs, ServiceHistory, PreviousOwners, Options, FourWheelDrive FROM import ORDER BY Make LIMIT 8, 4"); } catch (Exception $e) { echo "Error."; exit; } try { $makeFilter = $db->query("SELECT DISTINCT Make FROM import ORDER BY Make ASC"); } catch (Exception $e) { echo "Error."; exit; } try { $modelFilter = $db->query("SELECT DISTINCT Model FROM import ORDER BY Make ASC"); } catch (Exception $e) { echo "Error."; exit; } ?>All of these queries are working flawlessly on the live site so the db connection is obviously working. Here we go, I need to use a query where it uses a posted time value to compare if there are the same times on the posted date value. I want it so the user cant book the same time on the same day as someone before bascially. My input so far is this Code: [Select] <?php ob_start();?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>Conforming XHTML 1.0 Strict Template</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" /> <link type="text/css" href="ui-lightness/jquery-ui-1.8.16.custom.css" rel="Stylesheet" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.6.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-ui-1.8.16.custom.min.js"></script> </head> <body> <form name="input" action="input.php" method="post"> Subject: <input type="text" name="subject" /> First Name: <input type="text" name="firstname" /> Surname: <input type="text" name="surname" /> Trainer: <input type="text" name="trainer" /> Email: <input type="text" name="email" /> Date: <input type="text" name="event_date" id="date" /> Time: <input type="text" name="event_time" id="time" /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" name="submit" /> </form> <script type="text/javascript"> $('#date').datepicker(); $('#time').timepicker({}); </script> <?php include_once("functions/database.php"); include_once("functions/number.php"); if (isset($_POST["submit"])) { echo $_POST['event_date']; echo mdy2mysql($_POST['event_date']); echo $_POST['event_time']; echo time2mysql($_POST['event_time']); $queryselect = "SELECT * FROM events LIKE '".$_POST['event_time']."'"; if ($queryselect == true) { echo "sorry this time is already booked"; } else { $query = "INSERT INTO events (subject, firstname, surname, trainer, email, event_date, event_time, status) VALUES('".$_POST["subject"]."', '".$_POST["firstname"]."', '".$_POST["surname"]."','".$_POST["trainer"]."','".$_POST["email"]."' ,'".mdy2mysql($_POST['event_date'])."','".time2mysql($_POST['event_time'])."', 'pending' ) "; $result = mysql_query($query, $db_link) or die(mysql_error().'cannot get results!'); header("Location: input.php"); } ?> can anyone help me ? very much appreciated. Hello, in short, here is my problem: There are 2 tables: a table called postcodes, which contains UK postcodes and a table called wp_bp_xprofile_data (i want to integrate this search with the Buddypress plugin's tables) which contains the user data. I tried searching this, but to be honest, i didn't quite know how to go about it.. Here is what i have: $query1 = "SELECT value, user_id, (SQRT(POW((b.x - a.x), 2) + POW((b.y - a.y), 2))/1000) * 0.621 AS distance FROM postcodes a, postcodes b, wp_bp_xprofile_data WHERE a.outcode = '"$postcode"' AND b.outcode = wp_bp_xprofile_data.value HAVING (distance < '"$area"') ORDER BY distance asc "; $result1=mysql_query($query1) or die(mysql_error()); echo "<p style=\"font-size:10px;line-height:14px;color:#888;\">Straight line distances shown.<br>"; echo "<table border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\" width=\"100%\" ><tr>"; // display results while ($list = mysql_fetch_array($result1)) { $user_postcode = $list['value']; $distance = $list['distance']; $distance = round($distance); echo "<td align=\"right\">$distance miles away</td></tr>"; echo "<tr><td colspan=\"3\" align=\"left\" width=\"130px\">$user_postcode </td>"; echo "<td align=\"right\"><a href=\"blahblah\">Directions using Google Maps</a></td>"; echo "<tr><td align=\"left\"> </td><tr>"; echo "</tr>"; } echo "</table>"; Code: ("wp_bp_xprofile_data") [Select] id field_id user_id value 1 1 1 admin 8 3 3 NW10 6 1 3 Test User 1 9 4 3 IT, Web Development 11 1 4 Test User 2 12 3 4 HA5 13 4 4 Test, It, Some Work Code: ("postcodes") [Select] outcode x y latitude longitude B10 392900 804900 57 -2 AB11 394500 805300 57 -2 AB12 393300 801100 57 -2 AB13 385600 801900 57 -2 AB14 383600 801100 57 -2 Here is an example of what i need: field_id "3" corresponds to a postcode. My script so far, can search a postcode and return results with the postcodes sorted by distance. What i'm trying to do, is also get the username on the result (i.e the 'value' column again..). in short, im trying to search a postcode, find it on wp_bp_xprofile_data, associate it with the correspondent user, and return both. Someone told me i need to INNER JOIN, but im lost.. The end result im looking for is if i type the search: "NW9 1AA" It returns: Test User 1 NW10 Test User 2 HA5 (the code sorts them by distance. So far i can get it to return the postcode, but cannot associate the relevant name. Can anyone help me with this? I hope this is in the right forum. Thanks for your attention. I was wondering if it is possible to perform the following query. Say I have a list of names each with an id number ranging from 1 to 10. Is it possible to perform a query where you list all of these records while repeating one records. For example could I do a query that lists record number 6 then 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 etc. Or another example would be listing record number 10, then 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 etc? Thanks for any help. I'm trying to figure out how to combine these queries, to decrease server load and load time, but I'm not so good with MySQL queries. Does anyone have any ideas, any help is greatly appreciated, I've been tinkering with this for days now.

I'm using jqplot to create graphs from data held in a database. And im having trouble thinking of a way to lay the data out in an acceptable way. To plot a line the javascript takes a statement in this form: line1 = [['x-axis1'],y-axis1],['x-axis2',y-axis2] I'm running this query to get the data: <?php $query2 = "SELECT * FROM tracker WHERE username = '" . mysql_real_escape_string($usera) . "'"; $result = mysql_query($query2) or die('Error, query failed : ' . mysql_error()); while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { $data[] = $row; } ?> This returns things like this: $data[0]['date'], $data[0]['reps'] $data[1]['date'], $data[1]['reps'] etc... Values are likely to be added or removed so I need to construct a loop of some kind to format it like this, line1 = [['{$data[0]['date']}',{$data[0]['reps']}],['{$data[1]['date']}',{$data[1]['reps']}],['{$data[2]['date']}'],{$data[2]['reps']}]]; Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in Advanced Hey all... I'm running into a problem here. If you take a look at the code for this, you'll see it's to enter "horses" into a "class." It's all fine and dandy except I'm trying to get the way the horses are selected to have a different option. Right now they exist as a drop down/select option where you have to choose one at a time and enter submit. My goal is to have checkboxes that users can toggle and submit them all at once (with the rest of the eligibility checks etc still applicable). I've looked it up and the problem is, each user has a different amount of horses, so I can't account for all of them manually. Could someone help me out? On DaniWeb a user was trying to help me with an implode option, but I have zero idea how to work with that. I will literally need my hand to be held through this one. Thank you in advance - I have been trying to do this myself for a good chunk of the day, but my PHP skills are quite limited. Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); // Maintain session state header("Cache-control: private"); // Fixes IE6's back button problem. $page_title = "Class Information"; include('header.php'); $class_id = $_GET['id']; $enter = $_POST['enter_horse']; $enter_check = $_POST['check']; $horse_id = $_POST['horse_id']; //general show information $result = @mysql_query("SELECT s.show_id, s.player_id, s.type, s.name, DATEDIFF(s.run_date, NOW()) AS datedif, c.class_id, s.entry_fee FROM classes c, shows s WHERE c.class_id='$class_id' AND c.show_id=s.show_id LIMIT 1")or die("Cannot find class! In one of my domains I see some strange php files all created on 20th of April 2011 and named like this : IwA8ZSIhJ.php,QvDBnXYevm.php,LXgU1kf16y.php etc etc Any idea what could be the potential reason of creating such files in my hosting ? Thanks Sadan Masroor. Main script gets class information from a database and prints them so long as the class start date or end date is after today (actually includes today).
Main script calls "instructors.php". It queries another database based on the instructor name ($chef) and then prints the bio information for that instructor.
"instructors.php" works fine on it's own, when I add "$chef = "Chef Name" ("Chef Name" is in the Instructors database). When it's called from the main script, nothing shows up in that area - even though "Chef Name" is in the database. All of the other data is printed fine, just not anything from instructors.php. I verified that it's actually including the file, as I can add "echo "test";" to the top of instructors.php and it prints fine in the main script.
Any ideas of what I'm missing?
