PHP - Creating Some Arrays From Ajax Response Text
Hi,
I have an ajax response text string that looks something like this: "part2=true;part7=false;part9=false;..." I would like to turn this string into an array, that looks like this: part2 = true part7 = false part9 = false I know to use the explode function, but that will only break it into an array either by using the "=" or ";" as a delimiter.... Thank you for any help. Similar TutorialsHere is my java script

I'm trying to debug a sporadic 500 error which users occasionally get when filling out form sections on my site. Whenever it happens, I try to recreate their environment and fill out the form exactly as they have done, but can never recreate the issue. I have checked my application logs for the framework I am using, but they report nothing related to the error. I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me catch this. This is where the 500 error is sometimes happening and this triggers the error which users report: Code: [Select] //In jquery AJAX function, which submits data to PHP form for processing error: function(data,transport){ $.validationEngine.debug("error in ajax response: "+data.status+" "+transport) } Is there a way for me to try and catch what the exact error is here? The problem is I can't recreate the error, either using an AJAX call or not to call the PHP script. I need to catch the error response from the PHP script being called, but I never get an error when trying to recreate the user issue, i.e same OS/browser/form answers. The Apache error logs for the site have very little - unless I'm looking in the wrong place. I'm on CentOS, ran locate error_log and got an error_log.txt file in my vhosts directory for my site, but this just contained a 302 message log, nothing else. I also tried locate error | grep mysite. I suck with arrays, there I said it . With that said, hopefully someone can help me here. I have two multi-dimensional arrays called $allteams and $chosenteams (the contents of which are listed below). I simply want to compare them and make a new array of the items that are in the first array ($allteams) but NOT in the second array ($chosenteams). NOTE: I tried to use array_diff() but couldn't get it to work since they are multidimensional... FYI, I'm also confused why the info appears to be listed twice but I think that just has to do with associative vs. numeric arrays (i.e. I think I just need to specify one and the amount info would be cut in half), but I'll research this more on my own as it seems like it has to be easy to find $allteams Array ( => Array ( => 1 [teamid] => 1 [1] => Philadelphia [teamcity] => Philadelphia [2] => Eagles [teamname] => Eagles ) [1] => Array ( => 2 [teamid] => 2 [1] => Dallas [teamcity] => Dallas [2] => Cowboys [teamname] => Cowboys ) [2] => Array ( => 3 [teamid] => 3 [1] => New York [teamcity] => New York [2] => Giants [teamname] => Giants ) [3] => Array ( => 4 [teamid] => 4 [1] => Washington [teamcity] => Washington [2] => Redskins [teamname] => Redskins ) [4] => Array ( => 5 [teamid] => 5 [1] => Detroit [teamcity] => Detroit [2] => Lions [teamname] => Lions ) [5] => Array ( => 6 [teamid] => 6 [1] => Minnesota [teamcity] => Minnesota [2] => Vikings [teamname] => Vikings ) [6] => Array ( => 7 [teamid] => 7 [1] => Green Bay [teamcity] => Green Bay [2] => Packers [teamname] => Packers ) [7] => Array ( => 8 [teamid] => 8 [1] => Chicago [teamcity] => Chicago [2] => Bears [teamname] => Bears ) [8] => Array ( => 9 [teamid] => 9 [1] => Tampa Bay [teamcity] => Tampa Bay [2] => Buccs [teamname] => Buccs ) [9] => Array ( => 10 [teamid] => 10 [1] => New Orleans [teamcity] => New Orleans [2] => Saints [teamname] => Saints ) [10] => Array ( => 11 [teamid] => 11 [1] => Carolina [teamcity] => Carolina [2] => Panthers [teamname] => Panthers ) [11] => Array ( => 12 [teamid] => 12 [1] => Atlanta [teamcity] => Atlanta [2] => Falcons [teamname] => Falcons ) [12] => Array ( => 13 [teamid] => 13 [1] => Seattle [teamcity] => Seattle [2] => Seahawks [teamname] => Seahawks ) [13] => Array ( => 14 [teamid] => 14 [1] => San Francisco [teamcity] => San Francisco [2] => 49ers [teamname] => 49ers ) [14] => Array ( => 15 [teamid] => 15 [1] => St. Louis [teamcity] => St. Louis [2] => Rams [teamname] => Rams ) [15] => Array ( => 16 [teamid] => 16 [1] => Arizona [teamcity] => Arizona [2] => Cardinals [teamname] => Cardinals ) [16] => Array ( => 17 [teamid] => 17 [1] => New York [teamcity] => New York [2] => Jets [teamname] => Jets ) [17] => Array ( => 18 [teamid] => 18 [1] => Miami [teamcity] => Miami [2] => Dolphins [teamname] => Dolphins ) [18] => Array ( => 19 [teamid] => 19 [1] => Buffalo [teamcity] => Buffalo [2] => Bills [teamname] => Bills ) [19] => Array ( => 20 [teamid] => 20 [1] => New England [teamcity] => New England [2] => Patriots [teamname] => Patriots ) [20] => Array ( => 21 [teamid] => 21 [1] => Baltimore [teamcity] => Baltimore [2] => Ravens [teamname] => Ravens ) [21] => Array ( => 22 [teamid] => 22 [1] => Cincinnati [teamcity] => Cincinnati [2] => Bengals [teamname] => Bengals ) [22] => Array ( => 23 [teamid] => 23 [1] => Pittsburgh [teamcity] => Pittsburgh [2] => Steelers [teamname] => Steelers ) [23] => Array ( => 24 [teamid] => 24 [1] => Cleveland [teamcity] => Cleveland [2] => Browns [teamname] => Browns ) [24] => Array ( => 25 [teamid] => 25 [1] => Houston [teamcity] => Houston [2] => Texans [teamname] => Texans ) [25] => Array ( => 26 [teamid] => 26 [1] => Tennessee [teamcity] => Tennessee [2] => Titans [teamname] => Titans ) [26] => Array ( => 27 [teamid] => 27 [1] => Jacksonville [teamcity] => Jacksonville [2] => Jaguars [teamname] => Jaguars ) [27] => Array ( => 28 [teamid] => 28 [1] => Indianapolis [teamcity] => Indianapolis [2] => Colts [teamname] => Colts ) [28] => Array ( => 29 [teamid] => 29 [1] => Denver [teamcity] => Denver [2] => Broncos [teamname] => Broncos ) [29] => Array ( => 30 [teamid] => 30 [1] => Kansas City [teamcity] => Kansas City [2] => Chiefs [teamname] => Chiefs ) [30] => Array ( => 31 [teamid] => 31 [1] => Oakland [teamcity] => Oakland [2] => Raiders [teamname] => Raiders ) [31] => Array ( => 32 [teamid] => 32 [1] => San Diego [teamcity] => San Diego [2] => Chargers [teamname] => Chargers ) ) $chosenteams Array ( => Array ( => 2 [teamid] => 2 [1] => Dallas [teamcity] => Dallas [2] => Cowboys [teamname] => Cowboys ) [1] => Array ( => 3 [teamid] => 3 [1] => New York [teamcity] => New York [2] => Giants [teamname] => Giants ) ) Again, I just want to compare those two multi-dimensional arrays and end up with another array that only has the items that are in the first but NOT in the second. So now I'm trying to do it the way below using simply "array_push" Code: [Select] $remainingteams = array(); foreach($allteams as $teamname=> $value) { if (in_array($teamname, $chosenteams)) { } else { array_push($remainingteams,$teamname); } } My end result based on the way the arrays are in this example should be... $remainingteams (really the only difference is that the Cowboys and Giants info is gone) Array ( => Array ( => 1 [teamid] => 1 [1] => Philadelphia [teamcity] => Philadelphia [2] => Eagles [teamname] => Eagles ) [3] => Array ( => 4 [teamid] => 4 [1] => Washington [teamcity] => Washington [2] => Redskins [teamname] => Redskins ) [4] => Array ( => 5 [teamid] => 5 [1] => Detroit [teamcity] => Detroit [2] => Lions [teamname] => Lions ) [5] => Array ( => 6 [teamid] => 6 [1] => Minnesota [teamcity] => Minnesota [2] => Vikings [teamname] => Vikings ) [6] => Array ( => 7 [teamid] => 7 [1] => Green Bay [teamcity] => Green Bay [2] => Packers [teamname] => Packers ) [7] => Array ( => 8 [teamid] => 8 [1] => Chicago [teamcity] => Chicago [2] => Bears [teamname] => Bears ) [8] => Array ( => 9 [teamid] => 9 [1] => Tampa Bay [teamcity] => Tampa Bay [2] => Buccs [teamname] => Buccs ) [9] => Array ( => 10 [teamid] => 10 [1] => New Orleans [teamcity] => New Orleans [2] => Saints [teamname] => Saints ) [10] => Array ( => 11 [teamid] => 11 [1] => Carolina [teamcity] => Carolina [2] => Panthers [teamname] => Panthers ) [11] => Array ( => 12 [teamid] => 12 [1] => Atlanta [teamcity] => Atlanta [2] => Falcons [teamname] => Falcons ) [12] => Array ( => 13 [teamid] => 13 [1] => Seattle [teamcity] => Seattle [2] => Seahawks [teamname] => Seahawks ) [13] => Array ( => 14 [teamid] => 14 [1] => San Francisco [teamcity] => San Francisco [2] => 49ers [teamname] => 49ers ) [14] => Array ( => 15 [teamid] => 15 [1] => St. Louis [teamcity] => St. Louis [2] => Rams [teamname] => Rams ) [15] => Array ( => 16 [teamid] => 16 [1] => Arizona [teamcity] => Arizona [2] => Cardinals [teamname] => Cardinals ) [16] => Array ( => 17 [teamid] => 17 [1] => New York [teamcity] => New York [2] => Jets [teamname] => Jets ) [17] => Array ( => 18 [teamid] => 18 [1] => Miami [teamcity] => Miami [2] => Dolphins [teamname] => Dolphins ) [18] => Array ( => 19 [teamid] => 19 [1] => Buffalo [teamcity] => Buffalo [2] => Bills [teamname] => Bills ) [19] => Array ( => 20 [teamid] => 20 [1] => New England [teamcity] => New England [2] => Patriots [teamname] => Patriots ) [20] => Array ( => 21 [teamid] => 21 [1] => Baltimore [teamcity] => Baltimore [2] => Ravens [teamname] => Ravens ) [21] => Array ( => 22 [teamid] => 22 [1] => Cincinnati [teamcity] => Cincinnati [2] => Bengals [teamname] => Bengals ) [22] => Array ( => 23 [teamid] => 23 [1] => Pittsburgh [teamcity] => Pittsburgh [2] => Steelers [teamname] => Steelers ) [23] => Array ( => 24 [teamid] => 24 [1] => Cleveland [teamcity] => Cleveland [2] => Browns [teamname] => Browns ) [24] => Array ( => 25 [teamid] => 25 [1] => Houston [teamcity] => Houston [2] => Texans [teamname] => Texans ) [25] => Array ( => 26 [teamid] => 26 [1] => Tennessee [teamcity] => Tennessee [2] => Titans [teamname] => Titans ) [26] => Array ( => 27 [teamid] => 27 [1] => Jacksonville [teamcity] => Jacksonville [2] => Jaguars [teamname] => Jaguars ) [27] => Array ( => 28 [teamid] => 28 [1] => Indianapolis [teamcity] => Indianapolis [2] => Colts [teamname] => Colts ) [28] => Array ( => 29 [teamid] => 29 [1] => Denver [teamcity] => Denver [2] => Broncos [teamname] => Broncos ) [29] => Array ( => 30 [teamid] => 30 [1] => Kansas City [teamcity] => Kansas City [2] => Chiefs [teamname] => Chiefs ) [30] => Array ( => 31 [teamid] => 31 [1] => Oakland [teamcity] => Oakland [2] => Raiders [teamname] => Raiders ) [31] => Array ( => 32 [teamid] => 32 [1] => San Diego [teamcity] => San Diego [2] => Chargers [teamname] => Chargers ) ) Can anyone help me figure this out? i've been trying for hours (I know, that's pathetic ) Hi Guys, I am new to this site, and I regret that I have been ploughing my way through php tutorials for about 6 years, and have had great success and never really though about actually just asking for help untill now!! I am having difficulty with a script I am trying to write, basically the script is to a form creator script, to create a questionair. So I set up a simple database, with a table to hold the questionaire name and ID, and a table to hold to questionaire questions, and a table to hold the answers, so now I need to write the script. Each questionaire will have different amounts of questions on it, so I have made a script to ask how many questions are required, and then output the correct number of textboxes to input the questions onto, as follows ; if(isset($_POST['continue'])){ $assess_name = $_POST['assess_name']; $company = $_POST['company']; $num_ques = $_POST['num_ques']; $num_questions = (int)$num_ques; $i = 1; echo "<form action='create_assessment.php' method='post'><table width='800' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' border='0'> <tr><td colspan='2'>Assessment name : <b>$assess_name</b><input type='hidden' name='assess_name' value='$assess_name'></td></tr> <tr><td colspan='2'>Company Name : <b> $company</b><input type='hidden' name='company' value='$company'> "; while($i <= $num_questions){ echo "<tr><td>Question $i : </td><td><input type='text' name='ques[]'></td></tr>"; $i++; } echo "<tr><td colspan='2'><input type='submit' name='crt_assess' value='Create'></td></tr> </table></form>"; }else{ echo "<form action='new_assess.php' method='post'><table width='100%' cellpadding='0' border='0' cellspacing='0'> <tr><td>Assessment Name : </td><td><input type='text' name='assess_name'></td></tr> <tr><td>Company Name : </td><td><input type='text' name='company'></td></tr> <tr><td>Number of Questions : </td><td><input type='text' size='3' name='num_ques'></td></tr> <tr><td colspan='2'><input type='submit' name='continue' value='Continue'></td></tr> </table></form>"; } However, when processing the secondary form with the questions onto the next page, it doesnt seem to build the array for the "ques[]" textbox, i.e. it doesnt recognise it as an array. the next page code is as follows : if(isset($_POST['crt_assess'])){ include "../connect.php"; $assess_name = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['assess_name']); $company = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['company']); $add_assess = mysql_query("INSERT INTO assessments (name, company, timestamp)VALUES('$assess_name','$company','$timestamp')") or die(mysql_error()); $assess_id = mysql_insert_id(); echo "$assess_name Succeessfully added to database with the following questions : <br>"; if(is_array($_POST['ques'])){ foreach($_POST['ques'] AS $value){ $escape = mysql_real_escape_string($value); $add_ques = mysql_query("INSERT INTO assess_questions (question, assess_id)VALUES('$escape','$assess_id')") or die(mysql_error()); echo "$escape added successfully<br>"; } }else{ echo "error building array"; } }else{ echo "invalid page request."; } That script always returns the "error building array" string, so its proven that the $_POST['ques'] is not forming an array for each of the text boxes. Where am I going wrong? I have made a script like this before, but with checkboxes instead of textareas, and that script worked fine.... whats going on?! i have a file called filename.txt with the csv as below Date,cet,predict,16d Wed 02/15 @ 12Z,0.7,3.4,x Wed 02/15 @ 18Z,0.7,3.3,x Thu 02/16 @ 00Z,0.7,3.3,x Thu 02/16 @ 06Z,1.1,3.7,x Thu 02/16 @ 12Z,1.1,3.7,x i would like the date to be replaced by numbers 1,2,3... and to be an array, and also the 2nd value in each row to be an array. the number of rows is not fixed and grows day by day. so the result would be (1,2,3,4,5) and (0.7,0.7,0.7,1.1,1.1). can someone please help? i guessed that some sort of loop is needed to go through row by row, adding values to an array. I have tried the following with no success: Code: [Select] // get data from the file $data = file_get_contents('filename.txt'); // use the newline as a delimiter to get different rows $rows = explode("\n", $data); // go through all the rows starting at the second row // remember that the first row contains the headings for($i = 1; $i < count($rows); $i++){ $temp = explode(',', $rows[$i]); $date = $temp[0]; $cet = $temp[1]; $stack = array($stack); array_push($stack, $cet);} print_r ($stack); I have a folder of .txt files which have an array like this: 0#|#1#|#2#|#3#|#4#|#5#|#6 NOTE: All of the textfiles are md5 hashes. Every text file has an array like this, (numbers representing the data) and i'm trying to make it so i can access every array an combine it. So in the end i want to know how many text files have the number "6" for the 6th array and so on. I'm pretty new at PHP, so please be detailed. i have a text file that has spaces between each column. eg 12 12 13 22 34.5 10 13 18 88 32.5 12 33 17 23 22.3 (the actual data is weather data that accumulates a new line every 15 mins and is seen at www.maidenerleghweather.com/clientraw.txt ) each column represents a weather variable. i would like to use php to find the maximum values in each column and minimum values etc etc. how can i get the text data into arrays, so that i can then easily perform some simple stats on it? HOWEVER each line would NOT be an array. the first value in each line makes up array number one, second makes up two etc any ideas for a newbie beginner would be welcomed. Hello Forums, So basically I am trying to place text over an image. It works but the max text size is 5 which is way too small for my needs! What can I do to increase the size of the text? If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Here is my code: Code: [Select] <?php $title = $_REQUEST['title'] ; $my_img = imagecreatefrompng ( "Template.png" ); $text_color = imagecolorallocate( $my_img, 0, 0, 0 ); imagestring( $my_img, 5, 30, 25, "$title", $text_colour ); header( "Content-type: image/png" ); imagepng( $my_img ); imagecolordeallocate( $text_color ); imagedestroy( $my_img ); ?> Right now I redirect to index page after I delete a record. However I am looking to make it so that I can delete a record without redirecting the page. I know this can be accomplised using Ajax. I have spent countless hours before trying to make it work, but it did not work.
So here is a basic setup I created. Can you please update it with ajax code so that I can see how it's done properly?
<!DOCTYPE HTML> <html lang="en"> <head> <meta charset="UTF-8"> <title>Home Page</title> </head> <body> <div class="record" > <a href="record.php?id=<?php echo $record_id ?>"><?php echo $record_name; ?></a> <div class="delete-record"> <a href="delete.php">Delete Record</a> </div> </div> </body> </html> Edited by man5, 18 August 2014 - 08:55 PM. I have this thing that i am trying to make but i cant get it to work.. can anyone help? I'm having troubling with trying to create a function to spit out a single array with the following array. I can write it in a away that looks through the arrays manually. the results i am trying to generate is that each item in generated array. Array to convert array( "account" => array( "login", "register", "logout", "edit", ), "p" => array( "report", ), "array1.0" => array( "array2.0" => array( "array3.0", "array3.1 ), "array2.1", ), generating the array will look like this
Array ( [0] => account [1] => account/login [2] => account/register [3] => account/logout [4] => account/edit [5] => p [6] => p/report [7] => array1.0 [8] => array1.0/array2.0 [9] => array1.0/array2.0/array3.0 [10] => array1.0/array2.0/array3.1 [11] => array1.0/array2.1 ) The idea is that id generates a single array with combined labels and arrays inside, etc. I just can't figure out how to create a script that will create this array even If I add a new value or array.
Now I'm having this strange issue with my website I'm currently working on a tester system and I've encountered a problem that I'm unable to find the issue, tho I'm thinking my ajax php part of the script to be the thing causing it even tho it seems strange that it would cause it. The first part which is connected to where the problem occurs is the echo"<form>"; and from there, It should take you to index.php?page=tester&select=answer, now that is where it in the browser goes there tho it still shows the page stuff from the last page which is index.php?page=tester&select=applications, so it's like showing both &select=answer and &select=applications on the same page. <?php $q=$_GET["q"]; include'../config/connection.php'; $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM applications WHERE id = '$q'"); echo "<center><table border='1'> <tr> <th>Account Name</th> <th>Character Name</th> <th>Gender</th> <th>Skin Color</th> </tr>"; $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); echo "<tr>"; echo "<td>" . $row['name'] . Thanks in advance. Hello, I've been trying this for hours now, looking at different examples and trying to change them to work for me, but with no luck... This is what I am trying to do: I have a simple form with: - 1 input field, where I can enter a number - 1 Submit Button When I enter a number into the field and click submit, I want that number to be send to the php file that is in the ajax call, then the script will take that number and run a bunch of queries and then return a new number. I want that new number to be used to call the php script via ajax again, until no number is returned, or something else is returned like the word "done" or something like that, at which point is simply makes an alert or populated a div with a message... The point is, that depending on the number entered it could take up to an hour to complete ALL the queries, so I want the script that is called to only run a fixed amount of queries at a time and then return the number it is currently at (+1), so that it can continue with the next number when it is called again. I would like to use jquery, but could also be any other way, as long as I get this to work. I already have the php script completed that needs to be called by the ajax, it returns a single number when being called. Thank you, vb Folks, I have a mysql tbl called "links". In it a column named "keywords". The row 0 has a keyword "search" in the "keywords" column. I am doing a search for the words "search" in the html form. Clicking the button gives no response! What is wrong ? I get no mysql connection error. Nor any php error. So it should work and respond! <form name = "search" method = "POST" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>"> <label for="keywords">Keywords:*</label> <input type="text" name="keywords" id="keywords" placeholder="Input Keywords" required> <br> <input type="button" name="search_links" id="search_links" value="Search Links!"> <br> <input type="reset"> <br> </form>
