PHP - Fake Directories And Form Actions
Hello, I have a .htaccess file set up to create directories and files based on my PHP variables.
That's how it looks anyway. It's really just some URL rewriting. I'm looking to submit a form and use the code on the same page to handle the form via isset(). The problem is, however, that $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; redirects me back to the original base/index.php page, while nothing gets submitted. I can sort of see why, but is there any way to overcome it? I could probably use the actual file and variable names, but that isn't very practical as I intend on using this code as a basis for a much larger scale. I'm not too fond of using external pages as sources for the form action either for the same reason. My intentions were to have everything handled on a single page. Also, feel free to post constructive criticism on how to improve the code. I'm rather new to PHP and will need all the help I can get. .htaccess code Code: [Select] RewriteRule base/([a-zA-Z]+)/$ base/index.php?cat=$1 RewriteRule base/([a-zA-Z]+)/([a-zA-Z0-9]+)\.php$ base/index.php?cat=$1&subcat=$2 index.php code Code: [Select] <html> <head> <title>Index</title> </head> <body> <?php $cat=$_GET['cat']; $subcat=$_GET['subcat']; if (isset($cat)){ if ($cat=='foo'){ if (isset($subcat)){ if($subcat=='bar'){ if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { echo 'Entry Submitted Successfully'; } else{ ?> <h1>Add an Entry</h1> <div> <form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" method="post"> <div> <span>Field:</span> <span><input type="text" size="15" /></span> </div> <div> <input name="submit" type="submit" value="Submit" /> </div> </form> </div> <p> <a href="/base/">Return to Base Page</a> </p> <?php } } else { echo 'Error: Not a valid sub-category.'; } } else { ?> <h1>Select an Option</h1> <ul> <li><a href="bar.php">Add Entry</a></li> </ul> <p> <a href="/base/">Return to Base Page</a> </p> <?php } } else { echo 'Error: Not a valid Category.'; } } else{ ?> <h1>Base Page</h1> <h2><a href="foo/">Go to "Select an Option" page</a></h2> <ul> <li><a href="foo/bar.php">Go to "Add an Entry" page</a></li> </ul> <?php } ?> </div> </body></html> Similar TutorialsHi, I have a page with a PayPal button at the bottom. I am attempting to run two actions when the PayPal button is pressed. One is to process the PayPal payment and the other that opens another page which I have called testpage.php
I have used a script I found online as I have no experience in Javascript, this is meant to run two actions when the PayPal button is clicked. However only the testpage.php opens.
Here is what i got, have I done it wrong? Or is there a better way to do this?

Ok, so I currently have this http://pastebin.com/cCgyavs0 snippet that generates links to the previous, next and last page based on the current page (GET variable) or the total item count in the MySQL DB to then use forms as links by inserting the URLs into the action attribute. I did this cause I don't wanna use images as links, btw :P It kinda works - I get links like: shop.php?page=1 shop.php?page=12 shop.php?page=14 shop.php?page=225 When I'm on page 13 of 225 for example. Though when I click one of the buttons, I always get redirected to "shop.php?". :/ I don't have any PHP skills at all. In fact I'm probably looking for a script that can help accomplish what I'm asking about. Regardless, I'm having a hard time getting any answers or solutions to this. I would like to make a web form that collects cc#'s from my customers that is PCI Compliant in as simple a manner as possible. 99% of the time my clients are not being charged at all, and the cc is used simply to ensure a service is confirmed. If they were to be charged, I would have to do that manually as no payment gateways currently deposit into banks in the country I am in. One thought I had would be if I could have the cc# either split, or broken up into separate fields and emailed separately. I am told this is PCI Compliant. I would also be fine with the cc# being split between database and email. I know this is possible w/ zen cart, but I have been unable to find any scripts that do this and don't have a need for a shopping cart addition to my site. But, I am aware that zen cart and other shopping cart add ons have options for X's to cover a bunch of numbers in the middle of the string and write that directly to the database. One thing that is a necessity is that the majority of the data input to the form be emailed. So, I'm basically hoping to protect the cc data in the simplest way possible, which I thought would be to break it up. I'll be trashing the cc #'s once I get them. I have no need to file them. I do have a SSL on my server. I am completely open to other suggestions. Is something like this, or another option a possibility? My skills are rudimentary. I taught myself to write some html and also use Dreamweaver to subsidize for what I can't code myself. I apologize if this should be in one of the other forums. Hey guys, I'll be the first to say that I'm a real php n00b, and only understand the basics. I have a website already in place that someone else coded and I just need to add something to. There's a form that posts to another page and then back to a sql database. What I want to do is have the form also email me the contents of the form when it is submitted. Is there a way to have a form do multiple actions? I'm not sure the best way to go about this, so if someone has some pointers, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks! When making a fake identity in cURL, we use curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERAGENT, 'Googlebot/2.1 (http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)'); but which is better for the referrer: curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_AUTOREFERER, true); or curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_REFERER, "http://www.google.com/bot.html"); OK so I am working on a default response command prompt that will display X:\XOS(root)>user entered text 'user entered text' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Right now we use static images, and I'd like markings and colors to be traits that are inheritable through generations. I am able to layer images based on the parents layers to create a new dog with new markings. However, this only works with precolored layers. Which means the markings and such are not really being inherited, there is no chance for uniqueness at all. What I would like to achieve is the ability to colors parts of a layer or whole image based on what the parents have colored. So lets say you are breeding two border collies, the sire has four white socks and the dam has no socks at all. It should produce puppies anywhere on that spectrum, some with half socks, some with just white feet, etc. I hope I'm explaining this correctly. In my head, I see this being possible by coloring only those certain parts of an image. So I only color the feet for example, in a somewhat random pattern based on the parents feet patterns. So this eliminates the need for precolored layers and presents the possibility of random mutations. Is this at all achieveable? Is there another way that I'm not thinking of? I have an intermediate working knowledge of php, I've coded most of the game myself, but then I hit something like this and get completely stuck. Help put me on the right track please? Hi, i need to run this past you guy's. I need a way to effectivly check if a user has entered correct "real" details in my registeration form and check if email is already in my database to prevent the user from registering twice? I need this as some unknown person is using the form and entering there details like this: Username: 1 Password: 1 email: 1 It's really annoying as they are doing this several times so i have around 13 rows of just "1" in my table now! grr!! so far ive got: Form: <input name="upassword" type="password" class="style7" id="upassword"> <span class="style7">Email</span> <span class="style7">:</span> <input name="email" type="text" class="style7" id="email"> <span class="style7"></span> <span class="style7"></span> <input name="Submit" type="submit" class="style7" value="Register" /> </form> Script: Code: [Select] <?php if ($db_found) { $SQL = "INSERT INTO users (username, upassword, email) VALUES ('" .$username. "', '" .$upassword. "', '" .$email. "')"; $result = mysql_query($SQL); header( 'Location: http://www.removalspace.com/index.php' ); exit(); } else { print "Database NOT Found "; mysql_close($db_handle); } ?> But i need it to perform the checks aswell as drop the "real" data in to MySQL? Any ideas please? Hey guys does anyone know of a good dynamic directory solution? What i mean by this is when i am creating an application and i use require_once 'includes/config.php'; and then i create a class that needs the config file so i include it into the class like so: require_once '../include/config.php'; then i make a new folder named member then i have to require this class (created above) and it fails to find the directory. What would be a good solution for this? Thanks guys!! I am using the following code: Code: [Select] <?php $target = "images/"; $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['uploaded']['name']) ; $ok=1; if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['uploaded']['tmp_name'], $target)) { echo "The file ". basename( $_FILES['uploadedfile']['name']). " has been uploaded"; } else { echo "Sorry, there was a problem uploading your file."; } ?> I am using this to upload photos to the directory called 'images'. How could I change this code so that I can choose an existing directory to upload it to and also create a new directory to upload it to if I wanted? So I have a simple template that I want to be the index page of the website that I'm working on, however, I don't want to have to create several almost identical files for each of the directories.
Is there perhaps anyway that I can change the content of the main div yet the address be a different directory.
So for example, this is the main index page:

I have 4 different pages for this so far, is there any way to get it down to just one yet they be in different directories? P.S The reason this is in the PHP Help section is because I assumed that it would more than likely be something to do with PHP. Edited by ghostrider1337, 02 August 2014 - 02:36 PM. i need to convert the following path Code: [Select] $url=http://www.test.com/images/1/7/4/7/9/thumb.jpg to Code: [Select] $updated_url= /home/vhosts/test.com/httpdocs/images/1/7/4/7/9/thumb.jpgThe directories in the url are created dynamically Right now what i am doin is Code: [Select] $updated_url='/home/vhosts/'.$url.'/httpdocs/images/'.basename($url)which gives me /home/vhosts/test.com/httpdocs/images/thumb. But I also need to get the directories 1/7/4/7/9. It may be differ for different urls. Can this be done through some form of string replacement or pattern matching method? Here is my code which i use to recieve uploaded files.
$filepath = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . "file/"; $fileunzippath = $filepath."unzipped/"; $exclude_list = array(".", "..", "...", "index.php", ".php", ".htaccess"); if($_FILES["zip_file"]["name"]) { $filename = $_FILES["zip_file"]["name"]; $source = $_FILES["zip_file"]["tmp_name"]; $type = $_FILES["zip_file"]["type"]; $name = explode(".", $filename); $accepted_types = array('application/zip', 'application/x-zip-compressed', 'multipart/x-zip', 'application/x-compressed'); foreach($accepted_types as $mime_type) { if($mime_type == $type) { $okay = true; break; } } $continue = strtolower($name[1]) == 'zip' ? true : false; if(!$continue) { $message = "The file you are trying to upload is not a .zip file. Please try again."; } $string = preg_replace(array('/\s/', '/\.[\.]+/', '/[^\w_\.\-]/'), array('_', '.', ''), $filename); $clean_name = strtr($string, array('Š' => 'S','Ž' => 'Z','š' => 's','ž' => 'z','Ÿ' => 'Y','À' => 'A','Á' => 'A','Â' => 'A','Ã' => 'A','Ä' => 'A','Å' => 'A','Ç' => 'C','È' => 'E','É' => 'E','Ê' => 'E','Ë' => 'E','Ì' => 'I','Í' => 'I','Î' => 'I','Ï' => 'I','Ñ' => 'N','Ò' => 'O','Ó' => 'O','Ô' => 'O','Õ' => 'O','Ö' => 'O','Ø' => 'O','Ù' => 'U','Ú' => 'U','Û' => 'U','Ü' => 'U','Ý' => 'Y','à' => 'a','á' => 'a','â' => 'a','ã' => 'a','ä' => 'a','å' => 'a','ç' => 'c','è' => 'e','é' => 'e','ê' => 'e','ë' => 'e','ì' => 'i','í' => 'i','î' => 'i','ï' => 'i','ñ' => 'n','ò' => 'o','ó' => 'o','ô' => 'o','õ' => 'o','ö' => 'o','ø' => 'o','ù' => 'u','ú' => 'u','û' => 'u','ü' => 'u','ý' => 'y','ÿ' => 'y')); $clean_name = strtr($clean_name, array('Þ' => 'TH', 'þ' => 'th', 'Ð' => 'DH', 'ð' => 'dh', 'ß' => 'ss', 'Œ' => 'OE', 'œ' => 'oe', 'Æ' => 'AE', 'æ' => 'ae', 'µ' => 'u')); $clean_name = preg_replace(array('/\s/', '/\.[\.]+/', '/[^\w_\.\-]/'), array('_', '.', ''), $clean_name); $target_path = $filepath.$clean_name; // change this to the correct site path if(move_uploaded_file($source, $target_path)) { echo "Source: ".$source."<br/>"; echo "Type: ".$type."<br/>"; echo "Filename: ".$filename."<br/>"; $zip = new ZipArchive(); $x = $zip->open($target_path); if ($x === true) { $zip->extractTo($fileunzippath.$clean_name); // change this to the correct site path $zip->close(); $exclude_list; $dir_path = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']; $dir_path .= "/file/unzipped/"; $directories = array_diff(scandir($fileunzippath.$clean_name), $exclude_list); foreach($directories as $entry) { if(is_dir($dir_path.$entry)) { if($entry != 'part0' || $entry !='part1') { rmdir($entry); } } } } $message = "Your .zip file was uploaded and unpacked."; } else { $message = "There was a problem with the upload. Please try again."; } }Specifically i want to highlight this part: $exclude_list; $dir_path = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']; $dir_path .= "/file/unzipped/"; $directories = array_diff(scandir($fileunzippath.$clean_name), $exclude_list); foreach($directories as $entry) { if(is_dir($dir_path.$entry)) { if($entry != 'part0' || $entry !='part1') { rmdir($entry); } } }When I upload a zip file containing 2 directories(one called 'part0', and one called 'bad'), they get unzipped correctly and it gives no errors, however the fake directories(not called part0 or part1) I put in there are still there. Any Help? How do I include a file that is located two directories above the file that I want to include the file into? My absolute hosting path is /home/content/52/8840652/html if this would be of any use. I'm not quite sure about the PHP include functions. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks! I have written a piece of code that create a directories, files on the server using mkdir and touch and also inserts the form data into the table.. the code gets executed and the info gets stored in the database but the part which has the create directories. and files dont work as it doesnt create the directory and files on the server.. do i need to make changes to the php.ini file to enable the mkdir and touch feature to get enabled? as i said the code executes without any error.. I dont know wat to do.. please any help would be appreciated!! thanku This topic has been moved to mod_rewrite. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=347966.0 I am a php newb. I have 2 somewhat simple problems. First I have a huge list of movies that I would like sorted in a drop down list alphabetically. I already have the drop down list made and the movies show up correctly. But I cannot figure out how to sort the list. Here is the code <?php $dir="/backup/Movies"; if ($handle = opendir($dir)) { while (false !== ($file = readdir($handle))) { if ($file != "." && $file != ".." && $file != "index.php") { $thelist .= '<option>'.$file.'</option>'; } } closedir($handle); } ?> <form action="listen.php" method="post" name="table"> <select name="Movie"> <P><?=$thelist?></p>' </select> </form> Second problem is inside this directory there are a few other directories is it possible to make the directories show at the top instead of them being sorted alphabetically with the movies. Thanks in advance Jake I have one input upload and need it to go to two directories here is my upload code that handles the move_upload_file portion. Code: [Select] move_uploaded_file($_FILES['fillPDF']['tmp_name'], $strNewsPath . $strFilename); Thanks in advance. |
