PHP - Php Hostname Issue

i am using this to get the hostname of an IP Address $host = gethostbyaddr($_GET['ip']); While i am Tracking my own IP to get the host on localhost where i run the page at it is giving me the name of my Windows Os Computer name instead of the actual hostname the IP is 82.137.41.179 on my webhosting server it showd the host fine dos anyone know what is happening? Daniel0? Similar TutorialsI log the hostname of the computers when they do certain things in our Intranet. When the hostname is logged, certain clients are getting both the hostname and the localhost IP address added. For example, if the PC name is TOMS-PC, the hostname logged is TOMS-PC172.0.0.1 Other clients are logging just the hostname as it should be. Folks, I remember once having a php or html5 issue where the first option had to be blank in the drop down. Otherwise, it wasn't working. What wasn't working ? How wasn't working ? I can't remember. either php had difficulty reading user input or the drop down was not showing any options. And so, I had to add a blank value. So, something like this wasn't working ...

I can't remember. All I remember slightly that there was a blank value. I been going through my php files to find that particular file to jog my memory but I failed to find it. Can you folks explain to me if a blank value is required or not ? What is the benefit/disaster of adding it and how should the blank value be added ? Show me an example.
Was this a php or html 5 issue ? Can anybody fugure ?
Thank You Hi, I have this code below which groups all the SubHeading together and then queries the same table to find RiskConsequence which are grouped that match SubHeading then to query this table one more last time with all the Risk Mitigation that matches the grouped RiskConsequence. Problem I get is it does the SubHeading, the RiskConsequences it only does one of them not all of them before it moves onto the RiskMitigation. I know I have a php coding issue just cant see the wood from the tree's as the queries work. The script is set up to read pages links from .txt file into an array and then use foreach loop to iterate through each result. I've setup exception handling in my parsing class to print the link when file_get_contents() is unable to to read data and then exit the script. Issue: The script stops randomly after running for a while, it prints the link where file_get_contents() function failed but when I restart the script from that link particularly again the script works no problem until it stops again at some point. My question is: Is there a problem with a buffer?? or what could prevent file_get_contents() from executing after hundreds of iterations? The error is: .... failed to open stream ... on HTTP ... - a typical error when file_get_contents() function can't read a website.
