So I got this form validator script online and I applied the validator part of it to my own form. My form requires a NAME and a SERIAL to be inputted and the SERIAL must be all numbers. I tested the validator by leaving NAME blank in my form and SERIAL all letters. The dispalyed resutls show the correct error messages: "Name : Please fill in a name for this computer." and "Serial : Please fill in a serial number for this computer." But the entry is still submitted with the errors and all.

Hi im currently learning php and mysql and as a test (or a lesson) i thaught id do a timesheet site which adds the time and date and so on to the datatbase. Now im at the stage where i want to actually view the times for a particular date...
The problem im getting is that with the date picker which is a simple dropdown menu for the days/month/year but when i submit the form to the view.php file the result i get is 'Submit Query' which is the value of the button... Can someone give me a few pointers on what im doing wrong!!!

Currently what I'm trying to do is to create a blogging software through PHP (for myself) and when trying to change the amount of posts viewable on the edit/delete page, the form, which auto-submits if JavaScript is enabled, should deliver the following result: "/?page=EditPost&limit=6" This is obviously depending on what value is chosen, it can be anywhere from 5 to 10. Ok, so I used to be very good in HTML, PHP, and JS, but it's been a long time since I used it. been trying to make just a simple order form for a friends business. Though I wanted it to do server side validation and emailing... But it doesn't do anything.... on submit I get no errors when there are and with no errors I get no email to my inbox..

What it is supposed to do is gather what pictures they checked and their sizes as well as a person info and email it to an email address. Though I want it to check for required areas and correct input (like email has @ and a .com in it, zip is digits only, etc... But yeah my code shows the order form and looks nice, but does nothing....

Hopefully I can ger som help here I have been googling this for months and seem to cant find anything that will help me out.
I am trying to create a form (which is the easy part) but I want this form to send multiple entries at once from what I gather so far I need to use for each and/or loop which i am not familiar with it with my lack of knowledge........
what I have so far is
Table= locations
fields are
id
state
county
city

the form is set up as follows

The reason for so many cities is so i can update all cities in one county at the same time saving time I am not sure if its % doable in the manner i would like it to be done but i hope so

ok i enter the state and county
then i enter the cities i want
i submit the form i want it to create the state/county and the first city with the next id # then enter the state/county and next city and id#.

please some help me if u need to see my file let me know and ill post it im just not sure which one you need i believe it will be the save.php file but i also have the create.php file which is the form itself

How can I have a single form which has a number of standard fields in it, say date and name.... but for that same date and name I want to add multiple additional entries for say phone calls recieved... (silly example I know)

How can I enter the standard data once and an undefined amount of phone calls received ? without having to put a maximum number of possible entry fields on the page.... ?

So, say my Form is :

Hello all, I am an absolute beginner when it comes to PHP and Javascript but wanted a simple contact form for my website. I used the PHP code from one source and the Javascript validator code from another source and all is working fine except for one very annoying bug: I have to press the Submit button twice in order for the form to send the email. I've found that if the validator is already triggered, however, I only need to press the button once for it to submit. For those who are interested in the plan then here it is:
My Idea was to make a new build starting from scratch and make it as dynamical as possible. So my goal is not to make almost anything fixed in the code. I have made a decision to make a one supper large table for multiple different entries so no more joining and no more views for me.! The problem.

The problem is that the $insert places two entries to the DB. I cant seem to understand why.?

No errors no nothing. Just two entries of correct data.
PS. Sorry for a lot of prints in the code it is work and idea in the progress. The posts at the moment are fixed in the code so it is easier to refresh and debug.

Please help if you spot the problem. Im really out of ideas. Some fresh eyes might make a difference.

And Please for those who want to say it is a bad idea and why and why and so on.. Move a long.!!! Im not interested in whinging i have a great use for this and just having trouble with the two entries.

Hello,
I'm having difficulty learning the most efficient method of echoing error messages on a form. The particular example I'm working on is a registration form which I have had functional but not perfected as of yet.

I have been able to make the form work by using die() to kill the process and display a message however I would very much like for it to kill the process and simply echo an error message, same page, no redirects...

I will post my code and hopefully someone with more knowledge than me can shed some light.

I am fairly new to php and am just about to finish my website with its contact page. It is all working fine and i am receiving the email with the relevant information submitted. But there are few tweeks i would like to make, so it appears more professional.

1. For the validation I have selected it to validate three fields, email, name and message. I have tested it but the error messages are not separated. I mean if only one mistake is made then the error message appears under all three fields.

2. When I receive the email from whoever filled in the form I would like for their email address to be in the 'reply' and 'from' field in my email.

Hi Guys,
I'm having slight problems with my contact form coding. Ok here goes...when I fill in the information on the contact form and press submit the email is sent not a problem, but I get an error message below the sent proceedure displaying. I've checked and doubled checked the code error area's but but just can not see the problem.
