PHP - How To Loop And Increase Column Number...?
For the section of code below, is there a way to say, "first time through the query print on A2, B2,etc, then each query following add increase the number besides column name to be A3, B3, etc, then A4, B4, etc"...?

The script should select the rows by that ID number of the hashtag. It should look in the "hashtag_id" column of the table and see if that ID number can be found there, if it can be found there, then it should select that row.
The ID numbers are inside that "hashtag_id" column separated by commas.
Example:

If I do print_r($r2); it comes out with array containing all the possible results. When i loop through the array to get individual result, it only comes out with a single result. I.e CME211 I would be glad if you can help me figure where the issue is. Thanks!!!
I want to run this loop until it has created 50 or a 100 links, max. At present it continues running even though no inputs are being added to the database. I suspect, it keeps looping through and collecting duplicates and then not adding them to the database. I see this as two options, I either limit the number of loops or must find someway for the pages that have already been crawled to be skipped. I am busy doing a php course and the lecturer is not answering questions about how the code could be improved. I figure that if you are going to do something in a training course it should be able to do what it needs to and if it doesn't it needs a little alteration.

Just wondering why does the while loop leave out one entry? Also in the array is the "category" identifier necessary since it is identified in the SQL statement already? There are 5 records from a join query. The first two columns display the results, 2 results in the left column and 3 results in the center column. The right column displayw empyt text used in displaying the results, there is no data to populate and it seems to mimic the the number from the center, 3.

Here's what I'm wanting to do: Number = 100 In a for loop take that number, 100, and break it down into 5 random numbers to equal 100. So the for loop would output something like this: 1. 32 2. 5 3. 18 4. 9 5. 36 Total = 100 Everytime the numbers would be different. I hope that explains it Thanks! Hi All,
I'm looking to update a mysql column weekly, where by 5 randomly selected rows are given a new random number, from between 1 and the num_rows / 5. This cycle is looped again until all the entries have a new random group for the week. It is to help mix up the players for teams for 5 aside. It needs to be able to accomodate the posibillity of the num_rows not dividing exactly by 5, using ceil perhaps?

I know my userid is valid and and the date is set above (I've echo'd these out to make sure). Since the id is auto_increment, I do not put that in my sql (though I've tried that too), nor in my params (tried that too). What am I missing? I feel certain it is something small, but I have spent days checking commas, semi-colons and spelling. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong?

Hey, sorry that I am posting this darn image upload script again, I have this almost finished and I am not looking to ask more questions when it comes to this script specifically.
With the script above I have that part where the script should store the ID numbers (the auto_increment column of the table) of the image files inside of one array and then the "implode()" function would get used on the array and then the ID numbers would get inserted into the "image_file_id" column of the "thread" table.
As you can see at the above part the script prints the following:
Array ( [0] => 542 )
Array ( [0] => 543 )
Array ( [0] => 544 )
And I am looking to insert into the column of the table the following:
542, 543, 544I thought of re-writing the whole image upload script since this happens inside the for loop, though I thought maybe I could be having this done with the script as it is right now. Any suggestions on how to do this? Hi
I am very new to PHP & Mysql.
I am trying to insert values into two tables at the same time. One table will insert a single row and the other table will insert multiple records based on user insertion.
Everything is working well, but in my second table, 1st Table ID simply insert one time and rest of the values are inserting from 2nd table itself.
Now I want to insert the first table's ID Field value (auto-incrementing) to a specific column in the second table (only all last inserted rows).

Hello, I'm working on a simple project so bear with me, I have a variable called 'wood' on my SQL database, and I want to somehow increase the 'wood' value (int) every 5 seconds... Even when the user is not currently view that page. So what I'm thinking is saving the current mktime() to my database once - for sake of argument, this is going to be called 'time_cache', as well as the wood(int) variable. Then, when the user logs in to see how much wood there is, the PHP will, take the mktime() and subtract the 'cache_time' to see how many seconds have passed... Now I want to increase the wood int by 1 every 5 seconds that have passed. So I guess I need to do a division such as $seconds_passed = (mktime() - $time_cache) / 5. Which will give me the amount of 5 seconds that have passed, right? Then, surely my $wood will just equal $seconds_passed? I'm not sure if this is the best way to do something like this? Any one else have an idea? Also, my wood value doesn't 100% work as it give a decimal... I just want the wood value to increase by 1, every 5 seconds.
