PHP - Reading Site Name And Transferring Data Site Name
Transferring data from sub-domain.site.com
Reading sub-domain.site.com What is this all about? I'm going to put all .. images into a separate sub-domain eg: images.site.com. This would create a folder inside my public_HTML called "images" Now when sites have that Transferring data, and Reading... is this .. something relating to what I want. Facebook also does it, and they get their images for the site from a sub domain, how is it all done? I'm not sure if its entirely PHP, but I hope someone can help. Thanks Similar TutorialsI have several "sites" located in my html directory, and each has a "general" access point and an "administrator" access point:
/var/www/html/site1/index.php /var/www/html/site1/administrator/index.php /var/www/html/site2/index.php /var/www/html/site2/administrator/index.php /var/www/html/site3/index.php /var/www/html/site3/administrator/index.phpAll sites are similar except that data will be specific to site1, site2, or site3, etc. Users who log onto /var/www/html/siteX/index.php are totally unrelated to those who logon to /var/www/html/siteX/administrator/index.php, will have different logon credentials, are stored in different DB tables, and each should have their own session. If a user logs off of either the general or administrator site, it should not effect the other site even if they were previously logged on to both on the same PC (and of course not effect other sites). When a user logs off, I would like to destroy their previous cookie and associated session. Users for either will only use https. I am using Apache to rewrite https://www.mysite.com/ to https://mysite.com/. While I named the administrator site "administrator" above, the administrator user has the ability to change the directory name. I am thinking I need to use session_set_cookie_params to specify where I wish the session cookie to be stored since /var/www/html/siteX/administrator/index.php is a sub-directory to /var/www/html/siteX/index.php, but am not really sure. Sorry for the cryptic post, but I am not very well versed in this subject. How would you recommend setting up cookies/sessions for this scenario? Thank you Not sure if I'm trying to achieve something totally crazy here, or if this is something pretty standard. Didn't have much luck with searching as I'm not fully down with all the terms. (A) I have one site providing an RSS feed. (B) I have one site I want to search, once for each of the items in the feed A. (C) I want the results of the search in (B) to be displayed on page (C). So for example, the feed on (A) says; apples bananas oranges cheese I want site (B) to search for each of those terms (by passing the item in the feed (A) to the ?search= part of the URL of that page) and then show the results from THAT search on page C. Bit of a complex one, let me know if you need me to clarify. Thanks for any help! now i use this code to show where the visitors came from to my site. <?php $referer=$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']; echo $referer; ?> now, i want to show the 5 latest vistors referer's site url on my site ? Hi, My first post here is a cry for help I have a Windows 2003 server running IIS6/PHP5, the server hosts multiple web sites. The problem is include files that are for site A are showing on site B (each site having its own includes as part of the site files in its own site folder), though not every time, its very random, sometimes the correct includes show, sometimes ones from another site on the same server. This only occurs where the include files for both sites have the same name, such as 'inc-header.php' for example. I can only assume PHP is caching includes and because they have the same name is showing the wrong one on other sites sometimes, if I rename them to something unique then the problem goes away, but its not a practical solution to rename all include files to unique names so I find myself looking for a 'real' fix. I have a feeling its to do with the include_path in the php.ini, but right now its disabled with a semi-colon, and I don't want to set one as I have no global includes, all includes are site specific. Any help would be very much appreciated! Phil I'm trying to build a calculator for a game...but I'm stuck on the extracting part. I don't really know what it's called (so if you know of a tutorial/handbook please link), but how I would I extract this data: //data to extract $name = "Robin hood hat" $currentprice = "3.3m" $change = "+11.5k" //display echo $name echo $currentprice echo $change from: http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/results.ws?query=robin hood hat And a small question: how would I convert "+11.5k" into "11500" (1k = 1,000)? The * multiplies it but how do I check for and remove the "+" and "k"? I'm currently running a classified ads site and planning to display my own content from database combined with and external site rss. So here is what i got right now after the db query for the jobs ads (procedural php),
while ($row = mysqli_fetch_array($results, MYSQLI_ASSOC)){ echo '<div class="media margin-none"> <a class="pull-left bg-inverse innerAll text-center" href="#"><img src="'.$foto.'" share_alt="" width="100" height="100"></a> <div class="media-body innerAll"> <h4 class="media-heading innerT"> <a href="' . $row['title'] .'-da' . $row['id_ad'] . '" class="text-inverse">'. $remuneracion .' ' . substr(ucfirst(strtolower($row['title'])), 0, 53) . '</a> <small class="pull-right label label-default"><i class="fa fa-fw fa-calendar-o"></i> ' . $row['date_created'] . '</small></h4> <p>' . substr(ucfirst(strtolower($row['description'])), 0, 80) . ' ...</p>'; echo '</div> </div> <div class="col-separator-h"></div>'; } echo pagination($statement,$per_page,$page, $url_filtros, $filtros); ?>it is the while loop that i use to display ads from my database, what could be the best way to display (in this same loop?) other site's rss feed so i can show my content combined with the external rss? Thanks I need help on extracting of data from another website, commonly known as screen scrapping. I was able to do it with a basic created function, but it doesn't work for extracting data out from a table of another website. I want to extract the data from each row and data of this site http://online.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3021-usetf.html, so that I can put these data into my database. My current code is <?php $data = file_get_contents('http://online.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3021-usetf.html'); $regex = '/You(.+?) registered/'; preg_match($regex,$data,$match); var_dump($match); echo $match[1]; ?> Anyone has a script that I could modify to do that? Thanks! I have a html form that collect information such as [name], [address], [email] (amongst others) and once you hit the submit button all the data you send to "thank_you.php" which dumps all the data from fields to the predefined database, as wwell as it telly you thank you for registering. What code do I need in order for "thank_you.php" to send [name] and [email] fields automatically in the background to other page on different server (such as www.otherdomain.com/storage.php)? Is such a think possible? hi, I have a webpage that is driven by a database mostly. it has a catalog of dog treats and most will transfer to the checkout page but 2 two won't. I have checked the database and everything looks fine if it would help, here 's the webpage. http://auntievics.com/treats.php. it's the Cara The Flirt's K9 Canoli Stuffed and the Cara The Flirt's K9 Canoli Unstuffed that won't transfer. Any help would be appreciated. I have been given a task, and I gotta say it is kicking my butt.
Here is what I have to do.
1. Have user fill out and submit a form.
2. Data gets sent to: http://www.ffiec.gov...de/Default.aspx
3. Data is set as values for input fields in the sites form.
4. Form executes.
5. Retrieve result data.
6. Display data back to my site.
I have no idea how to do this.
Usually when I have done something like this I use an API.
Hope my question is clear.
Thanks for the help.
I have the following code Code: [Select] while($player = mysql_fetch_array($players)) { #Lets loop through all the players echo "<BR><input type=submit onclick=this.form.action='points.php?points=".$_GET['points']."&player=".$player['playerID']."&playerName=".$player['name']."' value='".$player['name']."'>"; }but the problem is that $player['name'] is always two words and it doesn't work. So I have removed '&playerName=".$player['name']."' but now don't know how to transfer that info. Is there a way of having the player name in the header or another way of sending this data to the next page? Another way of doing it is to check for the players name via there playerID number but this involves another call to the database which I am trying to avoid. Sorry, I initially posted this in the Ajax Help Thread, but thinking about it, I suspect this is a php query.
I am trying to write a basic Private Messaging script.
I have my main page which lists all messages that have been received. I then want to click on an href link to run an ajax query to bring information in from another .php file which shows the content of the selected message.
But I can't fathom out how to do this with an href. First off, is it possible? If so, can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
The relevant script is:
privatemessage.php:

Anybody got any suggestions? Many thanks for any help offered. Hi I made a new design for my website and I made some changes. I want to use layout for my second site.

I have a page that reads from a database to list employees from different states. Under each name is a link that pulls up a new window with a contact form. My goal is to get the name from that link to appear on that new window. (Which I will then use to ultimately add the name into the email that was generated so the recipient can know who the email was intended for.) I've tried using the GET and POST methods but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated greatly. I will name my firstborn after anything you desire. I've included my code below. (The last line is what I've been primarily working with) Code: [Select] //Open Database Connection $db = open_db_connection(); $sql = "SELECT DISTINCT 1 from users where active = 'Y' and show_on_contactus = 'Y'"; $results = mysql_query($sql, $db); $emaillink = "<a target='main' onclick=window.open('contactform/contactCentral.php?name=$state_row[state]','popup','width=380,height=400,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=yes,directories=no,location=no,menubar=yes,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false>"; if(!mysql_num_rows($results) == FALSE) while($row = mysql_fetch_array($results, MYSQL_BOTH)) { echo "<ul id=\"directors\">\n"; $state_sql = "SELECT * from users where active = 'Y' and show_on_contactus = 'Y' and state_full = 'indiana' order by last_name"; $state_results = mysql_query($state_sql, $db); if(!mysql_num_rows($results) == FALSE) { while($state_row = mysql_fetch_array($state_results, MYSQL_BOTH)) { echo "<li>\n"; echo " <div class=\"fl dirimg\">\n"; if($state_row[photo] == "") { echo "<img border=\"0\" width=\"61\" height=\"85\" src=\"images/exe_placeholder.jpg\" alt=\"$state_row[first_name] $state_row[last_name]\" />\n"; } else { echo "<img border=\"0\" width=\"61\" height=\"85\" src=\"n2team/pictures/$state_row[photo]\" alt=\"$state_row[firstname] $state_row[last_name]\" />\n"; } echo " </div>\n"; echo " <span class=\"fr\">$state_row[first_name] $state_row[last_name]<br />\n"; echo " $state_row[title]<br />\n"; echo " $state_row[city], $state_row[state]<br />\n"; echo " $emaillink Contact $state_row[first_name] </a></span></li>\n"; } Hey there, I was wondering if this is possible with mysql, my goal is to transfer the users id from the users table to the id field in my status table, thanks in advance. NOTE: Not manually, through a script. Hi, I am a curious fellow just beginning to use PHP. I understand the basics of what the $_GET and $_POST superglobals do, and how we can use them to retrieve data after form submission. I also know that since $_GET and $_POST are just associate arrays, we can create our own values in both $_GET and $_POST by writing statements like $_POST['variable'] = "value". I am wondering if it is at all possible to send data beyond form data by adding new key/value pairs into $_GET and $_POST. So for example, if I had a form that transferred username/password through Post, would it be possible for me to include further data by just saying $_POST['formtype'] = "house_insurance_form"? Basically what I'm getting at is trying to physically add your own data to $_POST or $_GET that you could pull from the next page where the form redirects to. In other words, can I send data beyond form data using these superglobals? I know I can do this with $_SESSION, but could I do it through $_POST or $_GET? I haven't been able to accomplish this, and I was just wondering if someone could give me an in-depth explanation of how this might work or how this is not possible. I would really really really appreciate it. Best Regards, -Sky Hi guys,
I am having a problem transferring data between pages, using PHP sessions. I have a HTML SELECT drop-down to let user set the number of posts per page to display. <form method="POST" style="margin:auto;position:relative;width:35%;padding:17px;top:47px;"> <span>select posts-per-page:</span> <select name="ppp"> <option selected disabled>--select ppp--</option> <option value=10>10</option> <option value=15>15</option> <option value=20>20</option> <option value=50>50</option> <option value=100>100</option> </select> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="OK"/> </form> I want to transfer the value selected by user to a session so that I can load the value in other pages. The value of posts per page is carried by variable $ppp; so, file1 contains the code $_SESSION['ppp'] = $ppp; That seems to work great; the system updates correctly the session's value as user submits different numbers of posts-per-page.
The problem is in page2.php: it doesn't update to the new user's selection; I already have a session active in that page so I don't need session_start(). To call the session, I use the line $ppp=$_SESSION['ppp']; When user changes the selection from 50 to 100 posts per age, for example, the value of page1.php changes as expected, but the value transferred to page2.php doesn't change, appears to remain with the default value the page loads with. I don't know if the problem is that I already have a session going. Can you have more than one session running simultaneously in a page? Can anybody help? Thanks in advance!
