PHP - Basic Php Script Im Getting Somthing Wrong Please Help
hi guys
i have been building a website and have added a contact form and PHP script to send me a email server side the script works as it it will refresh the pages and display my thank you message but no email ever turns up my email address is correct so there must be somthing else not working <?php /*Email Varibles*/ $emailSubject = 'media-ondemand-contact.php'; $webMaster = 'alextrashacc@hotmail.com'; /*Data Varibles*/ $email = $_POST['email']; $name = $_POST['name']; $radiobuttons = $_POST['radiobuttons']; $where = $_POST['where']; $comments = $_POST['comments']; $newsletter = $_POST['newsletter']; $body = <<<EOD <br><hr><br> Email: $email <br> Name: $name <br> Suggestions Ect: $radiobuttons <br> Where did you hear about us: $where <br> Comments: $comments <br> News Letter Sign up: $newsletter $headers = "$email\r\n"; $headers .= "Content-type: text/html\r\n"; $success = mail($webMaster, $emailSubject, $body, $headers); EOD; $theResults = <<<EOD <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="3;//media-ondemand.com"> <title>Sent Message</title> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { text-align: center; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 36px; font-weight: bold; font-variant: normal; color: #666; } --> </style> </head> <body> <p>Thank You</p> <p> Your Message Has Been Sent </p> </body> </html> EOD; echo "$theResults"; ?> the contact page is at www.media-ondemand.com/contact.html Similar TutorialsBasically, I'm still trying to wrap my head around OOP. What I'm trying to do here is a simple OOP user login script. But when I submit the form, all that happens is that the text fields reset them selves and nothing that I feel should be happening, happens. ie: I submit login data, and either it displays an error or reirects to index page. Neither happen, the form merely resets. Where am I going wrong? Code: [Select] <form name="loginform" id="loginform" action="<?php $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" method="post"> <p> <label>Username<br> <input name="user" id="user_login" class="input" size="20" tabindex="10" type="text" /> </label> </p> <p> <label>Password<br> <input name="pass" id="user_pass" class="input" value="" size="20" tabindex="20" type="password"></label> </p> <p class="forgetmenot"><label><input name="rememberme" id="rememberme" value="forever" tabindex="90" type="checkbox"> Remember Me</label></p> <p class="submit"> <input name="login" id="submit" class="button-primary" value="Log In" tabindex="100" type="submit"> <input name="redirect_to" value="/users.php" type="hidden"> </p> </form> Code: [Select] <?php if(isset($_POST['login'])) { $username = $_POST['user']; $password = $_POST['pass']; include("./classes/class.users.php"); USERS::login($username, $password); } ?> Code: [Select] <?php // Yes, my DATABAASE::DoIT(1) // (0) is working as intended (from a different include file) class USERS { var $user; var $pass; var $email; ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// function login($user, $pass) { include("/var/www/config.php"); DATABASE::DoIt('1'); $hashword = sha1($CONFIG['salt1']."$pass".$CONFIG['salt2']); $sql = "SElECT * FROM users WHERE username='$user' AND hashword='$hashword'"; $result = mysql_query($sql); $count = mysql_num_rows($result); if($count==1) { while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { define('USERS_AUTHENTICATED', true); $_SESSION['USERS_username'] = $row['username']; $_SESSION['USERS_userid'] = $row['userid']; DATABASE::DoIt('0'); header("Location: index.php"); } } else { $_SESSION['loginError'] = true; DATABASE::DoIt('0'); return $_SESSION['loginError']; } DATABASE::DoIt('0'); } } ?> I finished a template engine, its tiny, needed it for a small project. so with that in mind I am stuck on adding a new section that is not going well. tag: {subgame} this will show the layout of a particular game - works fine yippe! but that is just for one game. so now I am changing it to show more than one, and I cannot use that tag over, due to the way "str_replace" works (changes all in one swoop) so I thought doing it this way 2nd Method: {subgame1} {subgame2} {subgame3} etc... the search is: where field is one of the triggers (in this case SUBGAME) Code: [Select] if (strstr( '{'.$field.'}",$html_str) ) works fine for the first one, but obviously ignores the 2nd method I tried preg_match - but i know i am missing something, because I cannot get it to work. and ideal way would be the fnmatch( as of 5.3 its available for windows now) but only supports up to 260 characters - not good for website So what I am looking for: psuedo code: Code: [Select] if ( '{'.$field.'[optional digits]}' ) { do code here } I know preg_match seems to be the way but cant get it to see the numbers and if it does, it misses the origianl game, or worse crashes. My Code is suppose to parse a text file and return the value that is attached to the variable. However when I try calling two different variables, one after the next, it adds a space. Here is the code: <?php define("FILE", "config/review_setup.txt"); function fix($var){ $var = strtolower($var); return str_replace(" ", "_", $var); } function findValue($var, $file = FILE){ $var = fix($var); $val = NULL; $fh = fopen(FILE, "r"); while(!feof($fh)){ $string = fgetss($fh); $i = stripos($string, "="); $f_var = str_replace(" ", "", substr($string, 0, $i) ); if($f_var == $var){ $val = str_replace("\"", "", substr($string, $i+1, strlen($string)) ); $val = str_replace(" ", "", $val); break; } } if(is_null($val)) $val = "DNE"; fclose($fh); } echo findValue("host"); echo findValue("port"); ?> Output of above: Quote smtp1.servage.net 25 if I just do host, I get this: Quote smtp1.servage.net Any thoughts? Hi there, I am starting to learn OO PHP programming. After running math.php, it gives an output 'Use only numbers'. Why? I don't understand this. math.php <?php require('MathClass.php'); $c = new MathClass(); echo $c->add(5,10,15,20); ?> MathClass.php <?php class MathClass{ function add(){ $args = func_num_args(); $sum = 0; $i = 0; for ($i ; $i < $args ; $i++){ is_int(func_get_args($i)) ? $sum += func_get_args($i) : die('Use only numbers'); } return $sum; } } ?> Hi All, The Problem: I'm trying to learn how to take records from the NAME row of one table (i.e. Tom, Jim, Chris, Mike) and put them into a SELECT (drop down menu) box, then select a name and save it to a DIFFERENT table where the row is also called NAME, and THEN have that selection I just saved show in the SELECT box as SELECTED when the page refreshes. I have found a hundred websites showing how to bind a SELECT box to a table and put them into a SELECT box via $key => $val and even how to save it to ANOTHER textbox on the page, which is a lot easier, but never a step further as described in the first paragraph above. Seems unbelievable to me since it's so common. Maybe I'm just not using the proper search terms/keywords. Here's an example: Let's say you wanted to notify 3 people of your birthday. So, on the notification page, you would enter three names of people you would want notified all in separate input textboxes with [keys]. So, you enter John, Chris, and Tom into three text boxes and save the page. Done. Now, on another page, I have -- say .... five select boxes. For arguments sake, let's just say I click on all of them one at a time. In each of them, I would only see three names (John, Chris, and Tom). Now, in the first SELECT box I click on John. In the second select box I click on Chris, and on the third I click on Tom. Then save the form. I would like to see John, Chris, and Tom in the first three boxes after refreshing and I would like to see SELECT A NAME on the last two Select boxes that we never did anything with. Remember, there are NO default names in the first table with row called NAMES. They are populated by the user and saved to the row. I'm attaching an image of what the page looks like that I want to see the names and be able to select them. Does anyone have a link to a site that shows how to do this... or maybe have something very basic that would show me the process? Or, if not too difficult, maybe you could show me? Thanks in advance for any help! Attached Files Untitled.jpg 24.97KB 0 downloads Hello, I'm trying to take the value from an HTML form and insert it into a database on a button click. It inserts a null value into the database. The script is called submitColumnDetails.php. This is where I create the text field that I want to take the information from. This is in a separate file. Code: [Select] echo <<<END <form action = "submitColumnDetails.php" method = "POST"> <input type = "text" name = "columnField"/> </form> END; This is the submitColumnDetails.php file Code: [Select] <?php //Submit Column Data //-----------------------------------------------------// //Connect to localhost server $connector = mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "root"); if(!$connector){ //If user can't connect to database die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); //Throw an error } //-----------------------------------------------------// mysql_select_db("colin_db", $connector); $newValue = $_POST["columnField"]; //Data from column field. And on the whole, its works pretty well but occasionally, zip files will not completely download and will end up corrupted. It happens more with bigger files but that i'm guessing is due to the fact it takes longer to download them? I've searched intensively on Google for the past few days and implemented a few new ideas, which hasn't made a difference. Its annoying, in the fact you can try the same file a few times over and it'll download 8 out of 10 times no problem. I even added in the apachesentenv after a recommendation, as the rest of my site is gzip php'd. But that hasn't worked either. Part of the code as follows: apache_setenv('no-gzip', '1'); // if file exists and user access granted: // define the path to your download folder plus assign the file name $path .= $filename; // check that file exists and is readable if (file_exists($path) && is_readable($path)) { // get the file size and send the http headers $size = filesize($path); // required for IE, otherwise Content-disposition is ignored if(ini_get('zlib.output_compression')) ini_set('zlib.output_compression', 'Off'); //content type switch(strtolower(substr(strrchr($filename,'.'),1))) { case "pdf": $mime="application/pdf"; break; case "mp3": $mime="audio/x-mp3"; break; case "zip": $mime="application/zip"; break; case "rar": $mime="application/zip"; break; case "tar": $mime="application/zip"; break; case "sit": $mime="application/zip"; break; case "doc": $mime="application/msword"; break; case "xls": $mime="application/vnd.ms-excel"; break; case "ppt": $mime="application/vnd.ms-powerpoint"; break; case "gif": $mime="image/gif"; break; case "png": $mime="image/png"; break; case "jpeg":$mime="image/jpg"; break; case "jpg": $mime="image/jpg"; break; default: $mime="application/force-download"; } header("Cache-Control: public"); header("Pragma: public"); header("Expires: 0"); header("Cache-Control: must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0"); header("Content-Description: File Transfer"); header("Content-Type: " .$mime); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=\"{$filename}\""); header('Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary'); header('Content-Length: ' . filesize($path)); readfile("$path"); if($logging == 1){ $status = "Granted"; include('logit.php'); } exit; } Live http Headers in Firefox displays the following upon clicking a download: http://www.website.com/filedownload.php?file=12 GET /filedownload.php?file=12 HTTP/1.1 Host: www.website.com User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 Firefox/3.6.12 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729) Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-gb,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 115 Connection: keep-alive Referer: http://www.website.com/downloads.php Cookie: __utma=100661891.2064943237.1286446219.1290502952.1290505322.70; __utmz=100661891.1290502952.69.8.utmcsr=google|utmccn=(organic)|utmcmd=organic|utmctr=lighthouse%20cjpro; __utmc=100661891; __utmb=100661891.43.10.1290505322; PHPSESSID=8aadcc17930b9e146f103f180f30f470 HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Tue, 23 Nov 2010 11:22:13 GMT Server: Apache/2.2.14 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 PHP/5.2.12 X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.12 Expires: 0 Cache-Control: must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0 Pragma: public Content-Description: File Transfer Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="Version_5_Software.zip" Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary Content-Length: 62654423 Keep-Alive: timeout=2, max=100 Connection: Keep-Alive Content-Type: application/zip ---------------------------------------------------------- Are my headers wrong? or in the incorrect order? I have attempted to convert this script into an object-oriented script. However, upon attempting to define the graph, it is not successfully generated. Here is my code: Code: [Select] <? class Graph { var $values; var $image; var $image_width = 450; var $image_height = 300; var $margin = 20; var $bar_size = 20; var $horizontal_lines = 20; var $bar_colour; var $border_colour; var $background_colour; var $line_colour; function CreateGraph() { $this->image = imagecreate($this->image_width, $this->image_height); } function SetSize($width, $height) { $this->image_width = $width; $this->image_height = $height; } function SetMargin($size) { $this->margin = $size; } function SetBarSize($size) { $this->bar_size = $size; } function SetHorLines($size) { $this->horizontal_lines = $size; } function HexConvert($rgb) { return array( base_convert(substr($rgb, 0, 2), 16, 10), base_convert(substr($rgb, 2, 2), 16, 10), base_convert(substr($rgb, 4, 2), 16, 10), ); } function SetColours($bars, $background, $border, $line) { // This is hex based, similar to CSS, it is converted by HexConvert $bars = $this->HexConvert($bars); $background= $this->HexConvert($background); $border= $this->HexConvert($border); $line = $this->HexConvert($line); $this->bar_colour = imagecolorallocate($this->image, $bars[0], $bars[1], $bars[2]); $this->background_colour = imagecolorallocate($this->image, $background[0], $background[1], $background[2]); $this->border_colour = imagecolorallocate($this->image, $border[0], $border[1], $border[2]); $this->line_colour =imagecolorallocate($this->image, $line [0], $line [1], $line [2]); } function DrawBorders() { imagefilledrectangle($this->image,1,1,$this->image_width-2,$this->image_height-2,$this->border_colour); imagefilledrectangle($this->image,$this->margin,$this->margin,$this->image_width-1-$this->margin,$this->image_height-1-$this->margin,$this->background_colour); } function DrawHorLines($horizontal_gap, $ratio) { for($i=1;$i<=$this->horizontal_lines;$i++) { $y = $this->image_height - $this->margin - $horizontal_gap * $i ; imageline($this->image, $this->margin, $y, $this->image_width - $this->margin, $y, $this->line_colour); $v = intval($horizontal_gap * $i / $ratio); imagestring($this->image, 0, 5, $y-5, $v, $this->bar_colour); } } function DrawBars($graph_height, $gap, $ratio) { for($i=0;$i< $total_bars; $i++) { list($key,$value)=each($this->values); $x1= $this->margin + $gap + $i * ($gap+$this->bar_size) ; $x2= $x1 + $this->bar_size; $y1 = $this->margin +$graph_height- intval($value * $ratio) ; $y2 = $this->image_height-$this->margin; imagestring($this->image,0,$x1+3,$y1-10,$value,$this->bar_colour); imagestring($this->image,0,$x1+3,$this->image_height-15,$key,$this->bar_colour); imagefilledrectangle($this->image,$x1,$y1,$x2,$y2,$this->bar_colour); } } function DrawGraph() { $graph_width=$this->image_width - $this->margin * 2; $graph_height=$this->image_height - $this->margin * 2; $total_bars = count($values); $gap = ($graph_width- $total_bars * $this->bar_width ) / ($total_bars +1); $this->DrawBorders(); $max_value=max($values); $ratio = $graph_height / $max_value; $horizontal_gap = $graph_height / $horizontal_lines; $this->DrawHorLines($horizontal_gap, $ratio); $this->DrawBars($graph_height, $gap, $ratio); } function OutputGraph() { header("Content-type:image/png"); imagepng($this->image); } } ?> I expect this to be my misunderstanding of how object orientated codes work. I'm trying to create a website so that if I go to http://websiteaddress.com/, it will go to then index and if you are already logged in it will display the main page, but if you aren't logged in it'll show a login/registration page. Also, how does the following work: index.php?action=home index.php?action=register They show two seperate pages? So, could it go to the home page if logged in, but if not logged in it'll go the registration/login page? I have 3 tables (sectors, subsectors, and business). From the site a site user can select a sector, which then lists the subsectors, then when they select a sub sector they can view a list of the businesses within the selection. I am trying to remove a step so that they will see the sectors and be able to select, then will list the subsectors with the business names under the subsectors. The code I have is prior to removing the step is ...... Code: [Select] <?php $rs=mysql_query("select * from tblmain WHERE id='$view'"); while($row=mysql_fetch_row($rs)){ foreach ($row as $k => $v){ $row[$k] = nl2br($v); } echo("<h4>" . $row[1] . " Sectors </h4>"); } ?> <ul> <?php $pnds=1; if (isset($_GET["id"])) $pnds=$_GET["id"]; $sql = "select * from tblsub WHERE catid='$view' ORDER BY subsec "; $reccount=$sq->numsrow($sql); if ($reccount > 0) { $ata =$sq->query($sql); while($rs=$sq->fetch($ata)) { ?> <li><a href="listings.php?view=<?php echo $rs["subsec"];?>"><?php echo $rs["subsec"];?></a></li> <?php } } ?> </ul> I have tried to get this to work but the problem I am having is $view is an number but the actual business table is not id, it is by subsector name. I have tried ....... Code: [Select] <?php $rs=mysql_query("select * from tblmain WHERE id='$view'"); while($row=mysql_fetch_row($rs)){ foreach ($row as $k => $v){ $row[$k] = nl2br($v); } echo("<h4>" . $row[1] . " Sectors </h4>"); } ?> <ul> <?php $pnds=1; if (isset($_GET["id"])) $pnds=$_GET["id"]; $sql = "select * from tblsub WHERE catid='$view' ORDER BY subsec "; $reccount=$sq->numsrow($sql); if ($reccount > 0) { $ata =$sq->query($sql); while($rs=$sq->fetch($ata)) { ?> <li><a href="listings.php?view=<?php echo $rs["subsec"];?>"><?php echo $rs["subsec"];?></a></li> <?php $rs=mysql_query("select * from tblbusiness WHERE category='$view' ORDER BY name"); while($row=mysql_fetch_row($rs)){ foreach ($row as $k => $v){ $row[$k] = nl2br($v); } print(" . $row[2] . "); } <?php } } ?> </ul> But obviously category is by name and not $view which is an id. Any help would be greatly appreciated. is it okay to name a column "date" in a table ??? just want to know whether this could mess up everything thanks in advance Does it matter where you start your session at? Does it have to be before the <!doctype> tag or can it go anywhere in the page? Hello,
I hope I picked the right category.
I have an interesting situation. I'm building a website and I want to have the ability to work on it / prototype it without having the website accessible to the public. Currently it's not accessible because I placed a .htaccess file into my server but I think it didn't work correctly because I can't actually log in. That's not the main problem, I think the problem is that it's not ASCII but UTF-8. Been trying to figure out how to convert that.
I'm not sure if I even need web but I figure if I'm going to test it, which one of the things I have to test is capturing video with my phone then storing it to my server then retrieving it again. The capturing should be easy through HTML5 from what I've read.
I have access to php and sql. I just don't know if I need internet access. I don't know how to store locally.
Most php scripts don't even seem to mention a storage location. I have set up sql databases that used php to gather information. It's just not fresh in the mind at the moment.
I mean it had to work right? I mean I get the pop up that says "Authentication Required" which wasn't there until I uploaded the .htaccess file, which how can the .htpasswd file not be read if the .htaccess file is being read. I think it is in the right folder... anyway, maybe I don't need the web to prototype my website
Except for the phone part, I would like to see that the phone's camera UI and camcorder UI is easily accessed by one button
Any help would be appreciated
