PHP - Help With Mysql Automatically Generating Web Pages
I am creating a drink recipe site.
So far I have created the mysql table and the page where i can enter in the drink name ingredients ect. and it inserts into the table. Could some one point me in the right direction where when I make an entry into this table a new page is created from the content. How would I go about doing this? Similar TutorialsMy question is basically this: If I'm building a submission form - which places info into my DB via a mySQL query (INSERT INTO) - is there also a way to reference the id that it is creating? The form is set to just dump raw data into a database - each submission enters data into at least 8 DB tables which are all tied together by an $id row in each table. My query references those $id rows in each table to build a query. After each query is completed, a unique url (which is stated by the submitter in the form of /example/someotherword/) is generated. I need to find a way to place some sort of script within a page that displays the results based on each $id. So, lets say that the url is clicked, it would take you to a page that displays the results - but only does so based on the reference to that urls unique $id within the table. I'll provide code once I get home, but if you guys have any ideas that would be great. Hi all, I want to create an array from the output of a table. In the table cell I have some numbers where for each number I would like to relate it to a value in another table. Means i have generate unique user id for login purpose. Generating user id is working fine. availability of user id also ok for me by using mysql_num_rows() function. I'm coding myself an small webpage, In the internet you can see that there is pages like index.php?id=223923 <- for example or index.php?=news. So, I'm trying to create similar to that myself. I tried googling and searching youtube how to do this but didn't really find anything. I figured it out that it needs some database etc. I tried myself doing some table in my mysql db. And in the table some 'id, title, content' and in the id would be the url, (index.php?='id') the title would be the <title> </title> and the content would be all the code inside the webpage. So im thinking for something like this
rank1 -> home.php, admins.php So the ranks are in a database with the page names. So now when someone logs in they will get a certain rank. So now i need to make a function that will check if the rank has access to this page. $curPageName = substr($_SERVER["SCRIPT_NAME"],strrpos($_SERVER["SCRIPT_NAME"],"/")+1); This will detect the current page that the logged in person is at now. But now how do i check if the $_SESSION['rank']; (rank1) has the access to get in page admins.php, and obviously to make $_SESSION['rank'];(rank2) redirect from the page admins.php Could someone point me in the right direction? We have a php script which pulls the records from the database and puts them into a table on the page. Currently, it fetches all the customer records. This wasn't such a problem when there was only a few customers in the db but this is a bit higher now! Is there any way I can modify the script to only show 20 per page and add links to page 2 etc along the bottom, which can be clicked to show the next 20 and so on? When I retrieve a set of results > the defined # per page (such as entering 'WI' for last name), I see the first page correctly, and see the links to next pages, but when I go to the next page there are no results displayed. Same for p.3, etc. So I've looked around enough to know that I need to pass a variable to the subsequent pages, either via a session variable or the URL. I have 2 fields input on the form, as well as a limit and offset. My questions are 1) do I need to pass all 4 and if so then should I use a session variable so the URL does not get too long, and 2) can anyone provide any help with setting session variables and including them to be passed? I'm a newbie and have grabbed some code where I can but this is where i'm stuck. thanks in advance. [/code] tags added. There is a section in my site in which i will need to give the user 3 options: Generate Specific User Text As: 1. pdf 2. .doc 3. .txt 4. print in html The 4th option is simple. The other three are completely new to me. I know little bit about fopen, fwrite and fclose, however these are commands that write files to the server. I need to write files to the users computer. Is the best way for this to be: 1. the user clicks .txt 2. the .txt is written to the server 3. the .txt is then downloaded to the users computer by the user 4. the .txt is then deleted from the server All 4 steps to be done with one click from the user. Might there not be traffic problems if lots and lots of users are doing this at the same time? What I want to do is have users go direct to a particular season from a link without having to use the drop-down. How would I generate a unique URL for each of the seasons listed in the drop-down?
