PHP - Multiple Update Script Works On One Server But Not Another
I am moving my website to a new Service Provider. The script I use for multiple updating worked on the older server but not on the new one. It shows the information but does not update the records.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I recently upgraded from a VPS to a Dedicated server. The script is a data mining tool that primarily uses cURL. It worked flawlessy on the the VPS. Because it was the same hosting company everything was migrated and done so smoothly to the new dedicated. Now, the program hangs for no reason at all. The times vary but I'll usually get about an hour of the script before it hangs. It used to run for hours at a time on the VPS. While I do see some 'notices' and cURL timeouts - there are no error messages echoed out when the program hangs and there is nothing within the error log on the server to indicate anything in terms of why. The program simply 'freezes'. I think I've spent the last three days modifying the php.ini file. Here are some settings which may be of interest? post_max_size = 16M log_errors = On max_execution_time = 0; (From what I understand is unlimited). max_input_time = 0 ; memory_limit = 128M; At the top of every page within my script: set_time_limit(0); error_reporting(E_ALL); The dedicated is an 8 gig Linux box running Apache. Speaking of which, here are some settings within WHM for Apache: Max Clients 500 Max Requests Per Child - 0 (unlimited) Keep-Alive - On Keep-Alive Timeout - 50 Max Keep-Alive Requests - Unlimited Timeout - 1000 Because the script works on another VPS that I have within the same hosting company can someone direct me with what I should be looking for and/or comparing between both servers? What are the most common reasons for a PHP script to freeze from a server setting standpoint? Hi all, As you will see this is my first post in I really hope somebody can nail this for me, as I have been working on this for some time and I cannot get it to work. Basically this is the final part of a CMS I'm building, and all was fine until I needed to build in an option of a multiple image uploader to accompany all other stock details. I have managed to nail the 'insert' part of the multiple image uploader in this case up to 4 images, and the code is below for this part, any help with improvements though will be greatly appreciated. Code: [Select] if(isset($_POST['btnsubmit'])) { $flag=$_POST['flag']; if ($flag==0) { $name=$_POST['txtname']; $desc1=$_POST['e1m1']; $meta=$_POST['txtmeta']; $sr=$_POST['srno1']; $name=$_POST['txtname']; $ref=$_POST['Ref']; $desc=$_POST['e1m1']; $maker=$_POST['Maker']; $date=$_POST['Date']; $weight=$_POST['Weight']; $height=$_POST['Height']; $depth=$_POST['Depth']; $width=$_POST['Width']; $price=$_POST['txtprice']; $sold=$_POST['txtsold']; $active=$_POST['active']; $pcats=$_POST['pcats']; $subcats=$_POST['subcats']; $str_str=''; $p=''; $j=0; for($i=0;$i<=3;$i++){ $j++; $p=$_REQUEST['p$j']; $file=$_FILES['pic']['name'][$i]; if(!empty($file) ){ $str_str.=",pic$j='$file'"; } else if(!empty($p))$str_str.=",pic$j='$p'"; $path1="imgdata/stock/".$file; copy($_FILES['pic']['tmp_name'][$i], $path1); } $q24=mysql_query("update stock set stock_Name='$name', stock_MetaTitle='$meta', parent_Category='$pcats', sub_Category='$subcats', stock_Image='imgdata/stock/$pic[0]', stock_Image2='imgdata/stock/$pic[1]', stock_Image3='imgdata/stock/$pic[2]', stock_Image4='imgdata/stock/$pic[3]', stock_Ref='$ref', stock_Description='$desc1', stock_Maker='$maker', stock_Date='$date', stock_Weight='$weight', stock_Height='$height', stock_Depth='$depth',stock_Width='$width', stock_Price='$price', stock_Sold='$sold', stock_Active='$active', stock_DateTime='$dt2' where stock_Id=$sr") or die (mysql_error()); $flag=1; $conf="Data Updated Successfully - Click <a href='http://www.accendsandbox.co.uk/adminSallam/admin_categories.php'>here</a> to continue"; $update="1"; Code: [Select] <tr> <td bgcolor="#A0B050" width="161"> <div style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; position:relative; font-size:12px; color:#293334; font-weight:bold; position:relative; float:left; left:1px;">Stock Image 1 (Main):</div> </td> <td bgcolor="#888888"> <input type="file" name="pic1[]" id="pic1[]" size="50" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#A0B050" width="161"> <div style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; position:relative; font-size:12px; color:#293334; font-weight:bold; position:relative; float:left; left:1px;">Stock Image 2:</div> </td> <td bgcolor="#888888"> <input type="file" name="pic1[]" id="pic1[]" size="50" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#A0B050" width="161"> <div style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; position:relative; font-size:12px; color:#293334; font-weight:bold; position:relative; float:left; left:1px;">Stock Image 3:</div> </td> <td bgcolor="#888888"> <input type="file" name="pic1[]" id="pic1[]" size="50" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#A0B050" width="161"> <div style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; position:relative; font-size:12px; color:#293334; font-weight:bold; position:relative; float:left; left:1px;">Stock Image 4:</div> </td> <td bgcolor="#888888"> <input type="file" name="pic1[]" id="pic1[]" size="50" /> </td> </tr> <input type="submit" name="btnsubmit" value="Submit"> <input type="submit" name="btndelete" value="Delete" DEFANGED_OnClick="return check();"> <input type="hidden" name="srno1" value="<?= $rows["stock_Id"];?>"> <input type="hidden" name="action" value="Upload"> All seems to be fine above, I can upload 1,2,3 or 4 images and the image goes into the server and the path to the database. I can provide anything you need to help me with this, so please can somebody take a look and see if it can be got working, as its been a long problem for me this. Cheers Following a tutorial on udemy, i tried to learn the very basics of mvc structure. I built the same project on my local server and it worked without giving me any error. but when i tried it on live server. its not working as it should. not showing any error. I tried to figure out the problem and found that for every page loading, it stops at the same line in my main.php file. <?php require($view); ?> starting from the above line. it stops. i came here to share my problem but i am unable to upload my files here. if there is a way to upload and share my files, please guide. zip file size of the whole project is 31.6 kb I have some code that works fine on my dev server but does not work on my production server. Dev server has PHP version 5.2.5 and production server has PHP version 5.1.6. This is the part of the code that isn't working on the prod. server: $xmlDoc=new DOMDocument(); $xmlDoc->loadXML($tmpDoc); $x=$xmlDoc->getElementsByTagName('link'); //get the q parameter from URL $q=$_GET["q"]; //lookup all links from the xml file if length of q>0 if (strlen($q)>0) { $hint=""; for($i=0; $i<($x->length); $i++) { $y=$x->item($i)->getElementsByTagName('title'); $z=$x->item($i)->getElementsByTagName('url'); if ($y->item(0)->nodeType==1) { //find a link matching the search text if (stristr($y->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue,$q)) { if ($hint=="") { $hint="<tr><td><a href='" . $z->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue . "' target='_blank'>" . $y->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue . "</td></tr>"; } else { $hint=$hint . "<tr><td><a href='" . $z->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue . "' target='_blank'>" . $y->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue . "</a></td></tr>"; } } } } } $tmpDoc is a variable that holds database information in xml form. It basically looks like this: $tmpDoc = $tmpDoc . "<link><title>" . $row['CustomerName'] . "****" . $row['Rep'] . "****" . $row['InstallDate'] . "****" . $row['PaidDate'] . "</title><url>accountPage.php?AccNum=" . $row['AccountNum'] . "</url></link>"; ...that is inside a while loop that loops through the rows returned by a query. Basically, as I said, the whole thing works fine on my dev server but on the production server it never makes it into the for loop so I guess the condition $i<($x->length) isn't being met. I'm at a bit of a loss here. Is there anything like the PHP version or Apache version that may cause the "->" operator to not work? The prod PHP version isn't that much older than my dev PHP version so I doubt that's the issue but it's about all I can think of. Thanks! As the title says I need help with multiple update system.. Can't really get it to work at all >.< Here's some code: $selectt = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM exercises WHERE user='" . $_SESSION["user"] . "' AND exname='" . $_GET["edit"] . However, the same program will not run on remote server (PHP Version 5.4.32). Basically, I'm trying to insert values obtained from a form into a database. I've checked and rechecked the table I'm inserting into and I can't find anything wrong with it. The trouble is it's hard to debug a PHP program. Unlike, say, C++ which requires a compiler, you can trace the program line by line to look for errors. That's not possible with PHP and makes it so much harder to look for faults. The relevant functions used to send data to database are shown below. insert() is returning false every time and I can't understand why! I wonder if anyone can suggest where things might be going wrong. I would be very grateful. public function insert($table, $fields = array()) { if(count($fields)) //true if $fields holds data { $keys = array_keys($fields); $values = ''; //to put inside query $x = 1; foreach($fields as $field) { $values .= '?'; if($x < count($fields)) { $values .= ', '; } $x++; } $sql = "INSERT INTO {$table} (`".implode('`, `', $keys) . "`) VALUES({$values})"; if(!$this->query($sql, $fields)->error()) { return true; } } return false; } public function query($sql, $darams = array()) { $this->_error = false; //reset error if($this->_query = $this->_pdo->prepare($sql)) { $x = 1; if(count($darams)) { foreach($darams as $param) { $this->_query->bindValue($x, $param); $x++; } } if($this->_query->execute()) { $this->_results = $this->_query->fetchAll(PDO::FETCH_OBJ); $this->_count = $this->_query->rowCount(); } else //an error has occured in SQL query { $this->_error = true; } } return $this; } public function error() { return $this->_error; } public function count() { return $this->_count; } Hi guys, I know this is a bit of a messy question, but i have a problem with some code that my friend wrote, and now i don't know how to fix it. Basically there is a line of code on my site, and what my friend told me was that this specific line of code has to do with the server and is similar to a ticking clock. What he told me is that it is a "counted related value" which needs to been changed every now and then when it hits the servers limit. This actually means nothing to me, but i'm hoping some one out there knows what my friend means. Anyway this is the line of code i need to change, or in fact the number i need to change. The problem is that as i dont really know what i'm doing i have no idea as to what to change the number to. Please help guys, I really need to fix this asap. Anyways this is the code: // unique references define ('NID', floor(hexdec(substr(uniqid(''),0,11))/100)-52330000000); // table id define ('SID', strtoupper(uniqid(''))); // short unique id define ('UID', strtoupper(md5(uniqid('')))); // 32char id Its the number 52330000000 that i had to change the last time i had this problem. Many thanks in advance. I have tested my code and got it working but when it was uploaded to my web host of godaddy.com it suddenly stops working on one page; it literally comes up a blank page, the page source is completely empty as well. the code on the page is Code: [Select] <?PHP session_start(); include("../functions/common.php"); $sqldb = open_database(); //Open the database include("../functions/create_game.php"); #This is the actual game creation code header('Location:'.$_SESSION['web_site'].'/home.php'); //Go back to the home page ?> first thing I did was put error code reporting in Code: [Select] <?PHP error_reporting( E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE | E_COMPILE_ERROR ); ini_set ('display_errors', '1'); session_start(); include("../functions/common.php"); $sqldb = open_database(); //Open the database include("../functions/create_game.php"); #This is the actual game creation code header('Location:'.$_SESSION['web_site'].'/home.php'); //Go back to the home page ?>The test server the code still worked fine but on the production server it gave me Quote Fatal error: Call to undefined function PHPerror_reporting() in /home/content/74/8039674/html/testcricketmanager.com/gameplay/challenge.php on line 1 Out of frustration I put Code: [Select] <BR>1 <?PHP #error_reporting( E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE | E_COMPILE_ERROR ); #ini_set ('display_errors', '1'); echo "<br>2"; /* session_start(); include("../functions/common.php"); $sqldb = open_database(); //Open the database include("../functions/create_game.php"); #This is the actual game creation code header('Location:'.$_SESSION['web_site'].'/home.php'); //Go back to the home page*/ ?> <BR>3 and the output was Quote 1 3 James NOTE: All the code works fine on the test server (at home on a Linux box); production server (godaddy) the PHP code works on each page except this one I am trying to make a simple CMS, the table is created with this command(using php): Code: [Select] private function buildDB() { $sql = <<<MySQL_QUERY CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS newcore ( id MEDIUMINT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, title VARCHAR(128), menutitle VARCHAR(128), bodytext TEXT, json VARCHAR(1024), children VARCHAR(128), template INTEGER, created VARCHAR(100), PRIMARY KEY (id) ) ENGINE=MyISAM; MySQL_QUERY; return mysql_query($sql); } everything works fine, insert, delete, select, etc. But when I update a row, the update is also done, but another row is created with the same values, but of course a new id. I do the update this way: Code: [Select] $created = time(); $sql = 'UPDATE newcore SET title="'.$title.'", menutitle="'.$menutitle.'", bodytext="'.$bodytext. '", json="'.$json.'", children="'.$children.'", template="'.$template.'", created="'.$created.'" WHERE id='.$req['id']; mysql_query($sql); All the values are entered by myself, so there is no possibility of problem in values to make it function like that. Please help me, It's driving me insane! Thanks in advance. Here are the two files in question. The first is a snippet from my index.php controller file. Like I said it works on localhost just not on actual server. I also tried putting in the full URL like this Code: [Select] header('Location: http://www.bbcpa.org/dbsite/admin/stimes/stimes/php');and still got a blank page. The URL in the address bar shows this http://www.bbcpa.org/dbsite/admin/stimes/?editform it should show this http://www.bbcpa.org/dbsite/admin/stimes/ so maybe something is wrong with this line in stimes_modify.php Code: [Select] <form action="?<?php htmlout($action); ?>" method="POST"> anyway any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks So, I'm trying to read a file from a different filepath than the current working directory.
I have some simple PHP like this :
<?php $input_map = "readfile.php"; $map_contents = file_get_contents($input_map); echo $map_contents."<br />\n"; ?>And this'll work fine because it's in the same directory but if I try to set $input_map = "/home/...", the browser will return an empty string. This script will work from the command line though. So how do I get file_get_contents() to read from the server's file structure instead of just the working directory? Edit : For example, this will not work through the browser : <?php $input_map = "/home/..."; $map_contents = file_get_contents($input_map); echo $map_contents."<br />\n"; var_dump($map_contents); ?> Edited by MutantJohn, 21 January 2015 - 06:35 PM. Hi all, I wonder if any of you have this problem before.. I have a login page with "checked box remember me" - It is working fine in my localhost machine I can see the COOKIE in my browser's option setting (Firefox). But now the problem is: When I run the script in my test server; and do exactly the same thing..the COOKIE did not seem know. When I logged in as an admin and checked the box. And closed all the browser. Then, open the browser (Firefox)and go to the index page (landing page) then it redirect me to the login page instead. I looked the at COOKIE setting in my Firefox and I can it is stored there. Any ideas whats wrong? $account="54646456456464"; $station= "12345"; $options="11-1"; $image="C:/Desktop/Sample Images/usco1.jpg"; $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL,"http://dfdgfsfs.com/kgdfgd.php"); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, array( 'image' => '@'.$image, 'account' => $account, 'station' => $station, 'options' => $options)); $postResult = curl_exec($ch); curl_close ($ch); $xmlobj = simplexml_load_string($postResult); echo (string)$xmlobj->ID->attributes()->value; echo (string)$xmlobj->FullName->attributes()->value;All, I have spend days trying to figure this out without any luck. I am now in crisis mode. I need to get this working asap. The following code works perfect on my local xampp machine. As soon as I upload it to my web server, I don't get any data back. I have narrowed it down to the image i am trying to send is not being received properly. Thanks in advance. Hi guys, I need a help to find out what is a problem. Some of my code does not work on my local comp and in the same time it works well when I place it on Internet server. First example: Code: [Select] <body> <?php if($_POST['submit_form'] == "Submit") { $varNewTeam = $_POST['Reg_Team']; $varNewCity = $_POST['Reg_City']; $db = mysql_connect('localhost', 'root', '') or die ('no connection with server'); mysql_select_db('db_m ,$db) or die('DB error'); mysql_query ("INSERT INTO reg2012 VALUES ('$varNewTeam','$varNewCity')") or die('insert error'); } ?> <form action="registration_2012_form.php" method="post"> <p>Team: <input type="text" name="Reg_Team" size="20" maxlength="50" value="<?=$varNewTeam;?>" /><br /></p> <p>City: <input type="text" name="Reg_City" size="20" maxlength="50" value="<?=$varNewCity;?>" /><br /></p> <p><input type="Submit" value="Submit" name="submit_form" /></p> </form> </body> On local comp: It gives me message "Undefined index: submit_form". On Net server works well. If I split the code in two files. In the first one I leave the form with "action=FILE2.php" and put my php code in the second file "FILE2.php" - it starts work even on local server. second example: Code: [Select] <body> <?php $db = mysql_connect('localhost', 'root', '') or die ('no connection with server'); mysql_select_db('db_m' ,$db) or die('DB error'); mysql_query ("CREATE TABLE temp1 (team char(50), city char(50) )") or die('create tables error'); ?> </body> It works in the Net and can not create the TABLE on my local comp. I use XAMPP on my local comp (if it's important) Good morning. I am looking fo some help with an update script to update all rows in a table. This is what I have for a form and all looks well. form.php <?php // run the query and put the results in an array variable called $result $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY 'id', 'title', 'text', 'number'"); print "<form method='post' action='update.php'> <table width='100%' border='0' cellspacing='1' cellpadding='1'><tr> <td align='center'><strong>ID</strong></td> <td align='center'><strong>Title</strong></td> <td align='center'><strong>text</strong></td> <td align='center'><strong>Number</strong></td> </tr>\n"; // start a loop to print all of the courses with their book information // the mysql_fetch_array function puts each record into an array. each time it is called, it moves the array counter up until there are no more records left while ($Update = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { // start displaying the info; the most important part is to make the name an array (notice bookinfo[$i]) print "<td align='center'><p>{$Update['id']}</p></td>\n"; print "<td align='center'><input type='text' name='title' value='{$Update['title']}' /></td>"; print "<td align='center'><input type='text' size='40' name='text' value='{$Update['text']}' /></td>\n"; print "<td align='center'><input type='text' size='40' name='number' value='{$Update['number']}' /></td>\n"; print "</tr>\n"; // add 1 to the count, close the loop, close the form, and the mysql connection } print "<tr> <td colspan='4' align='center'><input type='submit' value='submit' />"; print "</td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </form> </table>"; print "</tr>\n"; ?><br /><br /> My question is. How do I update this info into the database with the proper info. ie. Update.php? Is there any way to have a field that will update any time its row is updated?
My situation is that I will have multiple devices writing to a database, and in one case the time that is being kept track of is important. And the devices writing to the database are a bit difficult to keep accurate times on, so instead of writing the time from the devices themselves, I was hoping I could just have a field update itself. I know it can be done on INSERT, but I do not want to do an INSERT every time.
Thanks!
Hi i have this upload script which works fine it uploads image to a specified folder and sends the the details to the database. but now i am trying to instead make a modify script which is Update set so i tried to change insert to update but didnt work can someone help me out please this my insert image script which works fine but want to change to modify instead Code: [Select] <?php mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "") or die(mysql_error()) ; mysql_select_db("upload") or die(mysql_error()) ; // my file the name of the input area on the form type is the extension of the file //echo $_FILES["myfile"]["type"]; //myfile is the name of the input area on the form $name = $_FILES["image"] ["name"]; // name of the file $type = $_FILES["image"]["type"]; //type of the file $size = $_FILES["image"]["size"]; //the size of the file $temp = $_FILES["image"]["tmp_name"];//temporary file location when click upload it temporary stores on the computer and gives it a temporary name $error =array(); // this an empty array where you can then call on all of the error messages $allowed_exts = array('jpg', 'jpeg', 'png', 'gif'); // array with the following extension name values $image_type = array('image/jpg', 'image/jpeg', 'image/png', 'image/gif'); // array with the following image type values $location = 'images/'; //location of the file or directory where the file will be stored $appendic_name = "news".$name;//this append the word [news] before the name so the image would be news[nameofimage].gif // substr counts the number of carachters and then you the specify how how many you letters you want to cut off from the beginning of the word example drivers.jpg it would cut off dri, and would display vers.jpg //echo $extension = substr($name, 3); //using both substr and strpos, strpos it will delete anything before the dot in this case it finds the dot on the $name file deletes and + 1 says read after the last letter you delete because you want to display the letters after the dot. if remove the +1 it will display .gif which what we want is just gif $extension = strtolower(substr($name, strpos ($name, '.') +1));//strlower turn the extension non capital in case extension is capital example JPG will strtolower will make jpg // another way of doing is with explode // $image_ext strtolower(end(explode('.',$name))); will explode from where you want in this case from the dot adn end will display from the end after the explode $myfile = $_POST["myfile"]; if (isset($image)) // if you choose a file name do the if bellow { // if extension is not equal to any of the variables in the array $allowed_exts error appears if(in_array($extension, $allowed_exts) === false ) { $error[] = 'Extension not allowed! gif, jpg, jpeg, png only<br />'; // if no errror read next if line } // if file type is not equal to any of the variables in array $image_type error appears if(in_array($type, $image_type) === false) { $error[] = 'Type of file not allowed! only images allowed<br />'; } // if file bigger than the number bellow error message if($size > 2097152) { $error[] = 'File size must be under 2MB!'; } // check if folder exist in the server if(!file_exists ($location)) { $error[] = 'No directory ' . $location. ' on the server Please create a folder ' .$location; } } // if no error found do the move upload function if (empty($error)){ if (move_uploaded_file($temp, $location .$appendic_name)) { // insert data into database first are the field name teh values are the variables you want to insert into those fields appendic is the new name of the image mysql_query("INSERT INTO image (myfile ,image) VALUES ('$myfile', '$appendic_name')") ; exit(); } } else { foreach ($error as $error) { echo $error; } } //echo $type; ?> dear folks
this question is regarding the plugin update, file uploader and SFTP - on a wordpress that runs on secured- server
I think I know the answer to the following question as "not possible" but I figured I would check. my sites are on servers where we disable FTP access and only use SFTP access, and also on a different port (not port 22). what if i want to use a automated maintaining service like the following https://mainwp.com http://wwww.infinitewp.com automated Installing and updating plugins to the sites does not seem to work and I assume this is the reason why. I'm also assuming the File uploader extension will not work either. Can anyone confirm this for sure though? Any ideas as far as workaround? one might think of the following way: Can you try adding your SFTP settings into the wp-config of one of my sites to see if that allows the functions to work? we can see an example in http://codex.wordpre...g_wp-config.php under WordPress Upgrade Constants or possibly try this plugin SSH SFTP Updater Support do you have any idear!? cf: https://mainwp.com/f...&highlight=sftp |
