PHP - How To Separate Values From Array For Saving In Table.
Hey guys,
I need your help on this please. I am working on a php web application. I have a form that gets information for Supplier and his traveling details. The values are stored in arrays. I would like to store supplier details in Supplier table and the travelling details in the Travel table. Here is the code with the comments. <?php if (isset($_VARS['submitSuppliers'])) { //error checking starts here $isError = false; if (empty($_VARS['supplierName'])) { $isError = true; $_VARS['supplierRequest']['supplierName']['errorMessage'] = 'You need to provide a Supplier Name.'; } if (empty($_VARS['address'])) { $isError = true; $_VARS['supplierRequest']['address']['errorMessage'] = 'You need to provide an Address.'; } if (empty($_VARS['travel'])) { $isError = true; $_VARS['supplierRequest']['city']['errorMessage'] = 'You need to provide travelling details.'; } #this checks if there is no error and then proceeds to save form values if (!$isError) { #This function adds the details and Returns the autoincremented Supplier ID $SupId = add_suppliers($_VARS); if ($SupId) { #=== Now here I would like to save the travelling details in the Travel table using the generated supplier id # $travId = add_Travel($_VARS); //==== how do I segregate only travel details from the $_VARS array to store in travel table? REDIRECT('/supplier/index.html', array('confirmationMessage' => 'Your details have been saved.')); }else { notify_admin('supplierjoin.php'); } }else { $_VARS['supplierRequest']['errorMessage'] = "There was a problem with the information you provided. Please check the form and try again."; } } ?> Kindly help. Any comment or feedback is always welcome. Thank you Similar Tutorials
Table Issue - Multiple Location Values For User Pushes Values Out Of Row Instead Of Wrapping In Cell
SELECT field, (array of values from table 2) FROM $table1 t1 LEFT JOIN $table2 ON t1.id=t2.id ... is something like this possible? (where I return records from t1 in a LEFT JOIN, but also get an array of any of the fields/records from the table 2) I am currently trying to make a line graph out of data using php and javascript. How do I add up the values of a column and separate them by month. For example the database has 74 amount of rows. Then the values from the "views" column get added up and then displayed by month. Code: [Select] <table width="70%" class="linechart"> <thead> <tr> <td></td> <th scope="col">Jan</th> <th scope="col">Feb</th> <th scope="col">Mar</th> <th scope="col">Apr</th> <th scope="col">May</th> <th scope="col">Jun</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <th scope="row">Post Views</th> <td>24324</td> <td>29634</td> <td>15435</td> <td>56545</td> <td>23543</td> <td>2123</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> i have an rsvp page where the table is populated by guests according to event selected in the drop down list. the rsvp table has 2 columns: guest names and status. status(radio button) is divided into 3: unconfirmed(default status), attending and not attending. user has to choose either one. but i am having trouble saving the status. tia for any help!
this is the saving code:
<?php if(isset($_SESSION['sess_user_id'])) { if(isset($_POST['save-rsvp'])) { require "connection.php"; $name = $_POST['name']; $radio = $_POST['rsvp']; $session = $_SESSION['sess_user_id']; $rsvp = $dbh->prepare("UPDATE guest SET status = ? WHERE guser_id = ? AND guest_name = ?"); $rad = implode("','", $radio); for($i = 0; $i < count($_POST['name']); $i++) { if(trim($_POST['name'][$i]) !== '')// validate this form { $rsvp->bindParam(1, $rad, PDO::PARAM_INT); $rsvp->bindParam(2, $session, PDO::PARAM_INT); $rsvp->bindParam(3, $name[$i], PDO::PARAM_STR); $rsvp->execute(); } } } } ?>which when save doesn't save according to status selected. for example 5 names: noreen, pete, marzuki, nora, mishal noreen unconfirmed pete attending marzuki attending nora attending mishal not attending micah not attending when saved, all is saved as unconfirmed. noreen not attending pete attending marzuki not attending nora attending mishal not attending micah attending when saved, all is saved as not attending. noreen attending pete not attending marzuki attending nora not attending mishal attending micah not attending when saved, all is saved as attending. it seems to save according to first choice. I want to save class property values and want to write these in the database after being called from another function. Code: [Select] class model{ public $dbh; public $user_arr=array('username','password','email','location','interest','homepage'); public function insert_data() { $sql = "INSERT INTO account VALUES ('" .$user_info['username']."','".$user_info['password'] ."','".$user_info['email']."', 'user','".$user_info['location']."','".$user_info['interests'] ."','".$user_info['homepage']."')"; //if(isset($data)) echo $sql; } public function data_approoved($user){ //$user_info = new array(); $user_arr['username'] = $user['username']; $user_arr['password'] = $user['password']; $user_arr['email'] = $user['email']; $user_arr['location'] = $user['location']; $user_info['interests'] = $user['interests']; $user_info['homepage'] = $user['homepage']; Model::insert_data(); } } }//class ended The approoved_data function is supposed to set the values of $user_info array which should be later on stored in database. Please somebody help me. I am pulling 5 addresses and I am wanting to store these 5 addresses in columns in a separate table. On the query string I put LIMIT 5. How can I store the results of each of the 5 loops into columns in a separate table? The columns are A1(for name), A2(for address), A3 (for city), A4 (for state), A5 (for zip), A6 (for phone), A7 (for miles), .... then I also have B1-B7, C1-C7, D1-D7, and E1-E7. I am basically wanting to store up to 5 addresses in an array and then update them into a mysql table. Code: [Select] foreach ($zips as $key => $value) { $result = mysql_query("SELECT State FROM extreme WHERE Zip = '$key' AND Type='store' AND `InStore` <> 'NO' LIMIT 5", $db); $num_rows = mysql_num_rows($result); while($myrow = mysql_fetch_array ($result)) { $Dealer=$myrow['Dealer']; $Address=$myrow['Address']; $City=$myrow['City']; $State=$myrow['State']; $Zip=$myrow['Zip']; $Phone=$myrow['Phone']; $Miles = $value; } } I have figured out far enough to loop through my table and return a list of check boxes that will be matched to a product. My issue now, is i cannot figure out the proper way to loop through them after they are selected and return them as checked/unchecked for the given product. Thought there is some MySQL involved, that part isn't the problem, I know how to insert into a database or update...when the product is selected from a drop down, I need to be able to populate the checkboxes. Here is the code i am using to initially display all of the categories to choose from... <ul class="categories"> <?php $query = "SELECT * FROM products"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { $category = $row['category']; $catId = $row['id']; echo "<li><input class='catCheck' type='checkbox' name='p_cat[]' value='$catId' /> $category</li>"; } ?> </ul> Thanks guys.... I have a stdClass Object array with nested User arrays as a value that I would like to display in a table cell. I am struggling and have exhausted a lot of time. I am hoping to get a shove in the right direction if possible. The image below will show what I am trying to do.
$someArray = json_decode($token_result); foreach ($someArray as $key => $value) { $combined[] = "<tr><td>" . $value->customer . "</td><td>" . $value->city . '</td> <td>' . $value->state . "</td><td>" . $value->zipcode . '</td> <td>' . $value->totalUsers . "</td><td>" . $value->totalActiveUsers . "</td><td>" . $value->totalInActiveUsers . '</td><td> <a href="">' . $value->users . "</a></td></tr>"; } foreach ($combined as $value) { print $value; } Here is what my Array and Objects look like Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [customer] => SWSH [city] => Thomasville [state] => GA [zipcode] => 31792 [totalUsers] => 6 [totalActiveUsers] => 6 [totalInActiveUsers] => 0 [users] => Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [firstName] => xxx [lastName] => xxx [phoneNumber] => [userName] => cb_igwrth@xxx.com [createdBy] => [isActive] => 1 ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [firstName] => Dan [lastName] => Stewart [phoneNumber] => +11111111111 [userName] => dan.sxx@xxx.ga.gov [createdBy] => kwilliams@xxx.com [isActive] => 1 ) ) ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [customer] => xxxx [city] => Carver [state] => MA [zipcode] => 02330 [totalUsers] => 3 [totalActiveUsers] => 3 [totalInActiveUsers] => 0 [users] => Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [firstName] => Leo [lastName] => Furtado [phoneNumber] => 781-000-0000 [userName] => LFurtado@xxx.com [createdBy] => TConger@ccccc.com [isActive] => 1 ) ) ) ) Table is attached
Hello, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have two dropdowns with 2 options in each. Customer picks one option from each dropdown and the form gets emailed to addresses from the two selections. The code below gives and error. My form: <form method="POST" action="quote.php" onsubmit="return checkform(this)"> <input type="hidden" name="agent" value="recipient_1,recipient_2"> <input type="hidden" name="office" value="recipient_3,recipient_4"> <select name="agent" id="agent"> <option value="recipient_1">Agent1 </option> <option value="recipient_2">Agent2 </option> </select> <select name="office" id="office"> <option value="recipient_3">Location1 </option> <option value="recipient_4">Location2 </option> </select> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit"> </form> quote.php is below: $recipients = array( 'recipient_1' => 'email_1@yahoo.com', 'recipient_2' => 'email_2@yahoo.com', 'recipient_3' => 'email_3@yahoo.com', 'recipient_4' => 'email_4@yahoo.com', ); $exploded_recipients = explode(",",$_REQUEST['agent']); foreach($exploded_recipients as $value) { $my_email = $recipients[$value]; $success = mail($my_email, $Subject, $Body, "From: <$EmailFrom>"); } Thanks in advance Hi, I'm still new to php and having some problems. Sorry about the code not being formatted properly. The snippet I posted has both the code intend to work but it is commented out and a test version that has an array already set thus getting rid of the need of setting up every thing like I have. Ok this is basically my problem. I'm building a store like website. Its suppose to be very basic for now Part of the website is an RMA system where the customer enters an order number and then pulls up all items in the order on a different page in a table format with check boxes next to each item found in the database. Each item that is checked off is then saved to an array rma[] which posts to another page when submitted. What this page(copied down below) does is it pulls values from the cookie already made and creates new variables which is not a problem. After that it does a foreach loop for the array of the items into a mysql query which then is suppose to insert it into a database. When the code runs it only inserts the first item in the array into the database no matter how many items are in the array. When I echo the $insert statement I get this(using the test code) like I expect I'm suppose to. I would assume that because I'm doing a foreach loop that it is doing an INSERT for the number of items in the array. Quote INSERT INTO `project`.`rma` (rmanumber, AccountID, item, ordernumber) VALUES ('857442', '1','Saab','123') INSERT INTO `project`.`rma` (rmanumber, AccountID, item, ordernumber) VALUES ('857442', '1','Volvo','123') INSERT INTO `project`.`rma` (rmanumber, AccountID, item, ordernumber) VALUES ('857442', '1','BMW','123') INSERT INTO `project`.`rma` (rmanumber, AccountID, item, ordernumber) VALUES ('857442', '1','Toyota','123') Code: [Select] <?php //connects to the data base mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("project") or die(mysql_error()); /* //retrieving rma array from previous page $rmarequest = $_POST['rma']; //retieves using name from cookie $username = $_COOKIE['ID_my_site']; //retrieves order number from cookie $ordernumber = $_COOKIE['order']; //creates rma number $rmanumber = rand(1000, 999999); //retrieves accountid from database using the username $getid = mysql_query("SELECT AccountID FROM users WHERE username = '$username'"); $id = mysql_fetch_array( $getid ); //takes the value of $id $final = $id['AccountID']; //suppose to loop through all values for the array created by $request on the previous page and insert into database foreach($rmarequest as $key){ // $insert = "INSERT INTO `project`.`rma` (rmanumber, AccountID, item, ordernumber) VALUES ('".$rmanumber."', '".$AccountID."','".$key."','".$ordernumber."')"; //mysql_query($insert) OR die(mysql_error()); //this is test to see what is being passed to mysql server $insert = "INSERT INTO `project`.`rma` (rmanumber, AccountID, item, ordernumber) VALUES ('".$rmanumber."', '1','".$key."','123')"; //mysql_query($insert) OR die(mysql_error()); //to view what $insert is passing to the data base. echo $insert;} */ //THIS SECTION IS TEST ONLY //test array $cars[0]="Saab"; $rmarequest[1]="Volvo"; $rmarequest[2]="BMW"; $rmarequest[3]="Toyota"; //creates rma number $rmanumber = rand(1000, 999999); foreach($rmarequest as $key){ //this is test to see what is being passed to mysql server $insert = "INSERT INTO `project`.`rma` (rmanumber, AccountID, item, ordernumber) VALUES ('".$rmanumber."', '1','".$key."','123')"; mysql_query($insert) OR die(mysql_error()); //to view what $insert is passing to the data base. echo $insert."<br />"; } ?> Included is a copy of the table and the php code above. Hi.. been a while since I have touched php and need some help. What I am trying to do is have my links pull text from separate php files, and load them into main table. Here is my old php code..used to work.. I had my index.php with my website template on it. In the table I want my info to appear i put this code. <?php /* START MAIN AREA HERE */ if($news) include("news.php"); elseif($bio) include("bio.php"); elseif($draw) include("draw.php"); elseif($pic) include("pic.php"); else include("news.php"); /* END HERE */?> My link looks like this. <A HREF="?news=x" ONMOUSEOVER="changeImages('home', 'images/home-over.gif'); return true;" ONMOUSEOUT="changeImages('home', 'images/home.gif'); return true;"> <IMG NAME="home" SRC="images/home.gif" WIDTH=69 HEIGHT=31 BORDER=0 ALT=""></A> Any help much appreciated! Hi all, I'm a first time poster here and I would really appreciate some guidance with my latest php challenge! I've spent the entire day googling and reading and to be honest I think I'm really over my head and need the assistance of someone experienced to advise the best way to go! I have a multi dimensional array that looks like (see below); the array is created by CodeIgniter's database library (the rows returned from a select query) but I think this is a generic PHP question as opposed to having anything to do with CI because it related to working with arrays. I'm wondering how I might go about searching the array below for the key problem_id and a value equal to a variable which I would provide. Then, when it finds an array with a the matching key and variable, it outputs the other values in that part of the array too. For example, using the sample data below. How would you recommend that I search the array for all the arrays that have the key problem_id and the value 3 and then have it output the value of the key problem_update_date and the value of the key problem_update_text. Then keep searching to find the next occurrence? Thanks in advance, as above, I've been searching really hard for the answer and believe i'm over my head! Output of print_r($updates); CI_DB_mysql_result Object ( [conn_id] => Resource id #30 [result_id] => Resource id #35 [result_array] => Array ( ) [result_object] => Array ( ) [current_row] => 0 [num_rows] => 5 [row_data] => ) Output of print_r($updates->result_array()); Array ( [0] => Array ( [problem_update_id] => 1 [problem_id] => 3 [problem_update_date] => 2010-10-01 [problem_update_text] => Some details about a paricular issue [problem_update_active] => 1 ) [1] => Array ( [problem_update_id] => 4 [problem_id] => 3 [problem_update_date] => 2010-10-01 [problem_update_text] => Another update about the problem with an ID of 3 [problem_update_active] => 1 ) [2] => Array ( [problem_update_id] => 5 [problem_id] => 4 [problem_update_date] => 2010-10-12 [problem_update_text] => An update about the problem with an ID of four [problem_update_active] => 1 ) [3] => Array ( [problem_update_id] => 6 [problem_id] => 4 [problem_update_date] => 2010-10-12 [problem_update_text] => An update about the problem with an ID of 6 [problem_update_active] => 1 ) [4] => Array ( [problem_update_id] => 7 [problem_id] => 3 [problem_update_date] => 2010-10-12 [problem_update_text] => Some new update about the problem with the ID of 3 [problem_update_active] => 1 ) ) Hi, My company has 240+ locations and as such some users (general managers) cover multiple sites. When I run a query to pull user information, when the user has multiple sites to his or her name, its adds the second / third sites to the next columns, rather than wrapping it inside the same table cell. It also works the opposite way, if a piece of data is missing in the database and is blank, its pull the following columns in. Both cases mess up the table and formatting. I'm extremely new to any kind of programming and maybe this isn't the forum for this question but figured I'd give it a chance since I'm stuck. The HTML/PHP code is below: <table id="datatables-column-search-select-inputs" class="table table-striped" style="width:100%"> <thead> <tr> <th>ID</th> <th>FirstName</th> <th>LastName</th> <th>Username</th> <th>Phone #</th> <th>Location</th> <th>Title</th> <th>Role</th> <th>Actions</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <?php //QUERY TO SELECT ALL USERS FROM DATABASE $query = "SELECT * FROM users"; $select_users = mysqli_query($connection,$query);

Hi there, Basic question, but I can't seem to find a page in the PHP docs that answers (though I'm sure such a one exists, I just can't seem to think up the right search terms - anyway) My question is: is there a short-hand way to use a value from an associative array as the key in another associative array? So for example, given this array: $the_array = array(0 => array('name': 'the_name', 'value' : 'the_value'), 1 => etc....); then this kind of foreach loop doesn't work Code: [Select] $new_data = array(); foreach($the_array as $element){ $new_data[$element['name']] = $element['value']; } Obviously I can just save out the values, like $name = $element['name'] --- but I was just wondering if there was a more efficient way to do it? Cheers, PS. I tried encapsulating with {} - i.e. $new_data[{$element['name']}] --- but that also fails. I have mysql select query shown below retrieving data from a database:
$sql = " SELECT student, sum( test_score ) as score FROM test INNER JOIN level ON test.level_id = level.level_id GROUP BY student" $result = $mysqli->query($sql, MYSQLI_STORE_RESULT); if($result) { while ($row = $result->fetch_array(MYSQLI_ASSOC)) { var_dump($row); } }On inspection of the retrieved array with var_dump(), i have these result below: array (size=2) 'John' => string 'English' (length=2) 'Score' => string '20' (length=3) array (size=2) 'Mary' => string 'Math' (length=3) 'Score' => string '35' (length=3) array (size=2) 'Samuel' => string 'Physics' (length=3) 'Score' => string '5' (length=3)How do I get at and print out the highest score from this set of array values within this context. I tried this echo max($row['count']) but i understandably got this feedback: Warning: max(): When only one parameter is given, it must be an array Thanks. Hello all, I have yet again trouble finding a logical solution to my problem. I'm fetching an array which can hold 1 or more values. The problem is, I want these values to ouput in my json_encode function, but this also needs to happen dynamically depending on the amount of values. I can't explain it further, so here's the code so far: Code: (php) [Select] $files = mysql_fetch_array($get_files); $a = count($files); $i = 1; while ($files) { $variablename = 'fileName' . $i; $$variablename = $files['fileName']; $i++; } $output = array( OTHER VALUES , 'fileName1' => $fileName1, 'fileName2' => $fileName2, 'fileName3' => $fileName3, ............); // How do I add the fileNames dynamically depending on how many there are? This got me thinking, I also need to dynamically GET the values with jQuery. How would I do that, when the above eventually works? Thank you. |
