I've been working on this for 2 days now and i can't seem to get it to work propertly. This problem is that whenever i'm trying to register myself as a new user at my localhost website i get "Could Not Process Form" error that i've put into the code myself. I beleive this has something to do with the connection to my MySQL but i've put in "membership" as the database "root" as the username and then my password. If anyone has the time to read through my coding, i have marked the line where the error message is placed in the code.. yeah see for your self. Really need help with this! <?php class Register { private $username; private $firstname; private $lastname; private $password; private $passmd5; private $email; private $gender; private $birthday; private $errors; private $token; public function __construct() { $this->errors = array(); $this->username = $this->filter($_POST['username']); $this->firstname = $this->filter($_POST['first_name']); $this->lastname = $this->filter($_POST['last_name']); $this->password = $this->filter($_POST['password']); $this->email = $this->filter($_POST['email']); $this->gender = $this->filter($_POST['gender']); $this->birthday = $this->filter($_POST['birth_day']); $this->token = $_POST['token']; $this->passmd5 = md5($this->password); } public function process() { if($this->valid_token() && $this->valid_data()) $this->register(); return count($this->errors)? 0 : 1; } public function filter($var) { return preg_replace('/[^a-zA-Z0-9@.]/','',$var); } public function register() { mysql_connect("localhost","root","") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("membership") or die (mysql_error()); mysql_query("INSERT INTO users(username, password) VALUES ('{$this->username}','{$this->passmd5}')"); if(mysql_affected_rows()< 1) $this->errors[] = 'Could Not Process Form'; <------------------ HERE IS THE ERROR MESSAGE I'VE PUT IN THE CODE TO SPIT OUT IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG } public function user_exists() { mysql_connect("localhost","root","") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("membership") or die (mysql_error()); $data = mysql_query("SELECT username FROM users WHERE username = '{$this->username}'"); return mysql_num_rows($data) > 0 ? 1 : 0; } public function show_errors() { echo "<h3>Errors</h3>"; foreach($this->errors as $key=>$value) echo $value."<br>"; } public function valid_data() { if($this->user_exists()) $this->errors[] = 'Username Already Taken'; if(empty($this->username)) $this->errors[] = 'Invalid Username'; if(empty($this->firstname)) $this->errors[] = 'Invalid First Name'; if(empty($this->lastname)) $this->errors[] = 'Invalid Last Name'; if(empty($this->password)) $this->errors[] = 'Invalid Password'; if(empty($this->email) || !preg_match('/^[a-zA-Z0-9._-]+@[a-zA-Z0-9._-]+\.[a-zA-Z]{2,4}$/',$this->email)) $this->errors[] = 'Invalid Email'; if(empty($this->gender)) $this->errors[] = 'Invalid Gender'; if(empty($this->birthday)) $this->errors[] = 'Invalid Birthday'; return count($this->errors)? 0 : 1; } public function valid_token() { if(!isset($_SESSION['token']) || $this->token != $_SESSION['token']) $this->errors[] = 'Invalid Submission'; return count($this->errors)? 0 : 1; } } ?> Here is the code: Code: [Select] <?php $db = mysql_query(" SELECT story_id FROM story_info WHERE story='$story_form' AND user='$username' ")or die(mysql_error()); $rows = mysql_fetch_assoc($db); $id = $rows['story_id']; ?> All of the variables are defined earlier in the code. If you also have any feedback on my code, please do tell me. I wish to improve my coding base. Basically when you fill out the register form, it will check for data, then execute the insert query. Hi, this query runs fine when I run it from PHPMyAdmin: UPDATE `tran_term_taxonomy` SET `description` = (SELECT keyword from `good_keywords` ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1,1) WHERE `tran_term_taxonomy`.`taxonomy` = 'post_tag' AND `tran_term_taxonomy`.`description` = "" LIMIT 1 However, when I run the same query in a PHP file on my server, the page doesn't load at all. The message I get is: www.somesite.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500. This is my PHP code: <?php include("/database/connection/path/db_connect.php"); $result4 = mysqli_query($GLOBALS["___mysqli_ston"], "UPDATE `tran_term_taxonomy` SET `description` = (SELECT keyword from `good_keywords` ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1,1) WHERE `tran_term_taxonomy`.`taxonomy` = 'post_tag' AND `tran_term_taxonomy`.`description` = "" LIMIT 1"); echo $result4; ?> So how do I make this query work please? Thanks for your guidance. I have created a registration page to access my website. After the user registrate himself should appear an alert saying that the registration was OK and a redirect to main.php page... however for some reason if I create an insert statement the alert and the redirect don't appear... If I remove the insert the alert and the redirect works... why? This is part of the code of my 3 files: registration.php (ajax call) $('#submit').click(function() {var username2 = $('#uname2').val(); var password2 = $('#psw2').val(); $.ajax({ url: 'ajax/response.php', type: 'GET', data: {username2 : username2, password2: password2}, success: function(data) { if(data === 'correct') { alert("Username and Password have been created!"); //don' work with the insert location.replace("main.php"); //don' work with the insert } else { alert("Username or password are not correct... please register yourself!"); } } }); }); response.php (answer to ajax call) if(isset($_GET['username2']) && isset($_GET['password2'])) {$username2 = $_GET['username2']; $password2 = $_GET['password2']; if (checkUser($pdo, $username2) === true) { echo 'duplicate'; } else { insertUserPwd($pdo, $username2, $password2); //including this line the redirect and the alert doesn't work... the insert is OK echo 'correct'; } } data_access.php (the function works but doesn't permit alert and redirect to appear) function insertUserPwd(PDO $pdo, $usr, $pwd){ $data = [ 'id' => '', 'user' => $usr, 'password' => $pwd ]; $sql = "INSERT INTO users (id, user, password) VALUES (:id, :user, :password)"; $stmt= $pdo->prepare($sql); $stmt->execute($data); } Can someone help me to fix the code? require_once 'includes/upload.class.php'; $upload = new uploads(); $details = $upload->getFileInformation($id); <?php echo $details['upload_desc']; ?> then here the class. require_once 'db.class.php'; class uploads extends database { private $uploadData; function uploadFile() { public function getFileInformation($id) { $this->uploadData = $this->readData("uploadfiles", "upload_id", $id); return $this->uploadData; } But it wont work! Ok, I am a complete noob when it comes to php. I am slowly learning it but I turned to youtube for a tutorial on a registration/login page. I found a good tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngqeWUIDlnk&feature=channel but for some reason my php is NOT working. I have it exactly the way he does but it wont echo anything or work at all. The login page worked great in his tutorial. What do I have wrong? I cant figure it out. Please help! echo "<h1>Register</h1>"; $submit = $_POST['submit']; $fullname = strip_tags($_POST['name']); $username = strip_tags($_POST['user']); $password = strip_tags($_POST['password']); $verifypassword = strip_tags($_POST['verifypassword']); $date = date("Y-m-d"); if ($submit) { if($fullname&&$username&&$password&&$verifypassword) { password = md5($password); verifypassword= = md5($verifypassword); } else echo "Please fill in all fields!"; } Code: [Select] <html> <form action='register.php' method='POST'> <table> <tr> <td>Full Name:</td> <td><input type='text' name='name'></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Username:</td> <td><input type='text' name='user'></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Password:</td> <td><input type='password' name='password'></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Verify Password:</td> <td><input type='password' name='verifypassword'></td> </tr> </table> <p><input type='submit' name='submit' value='Submit'></p> </form> </html> $last = mysql_query("SELECT MAX('id') FROM comments WHERE submittedby='$username'"); can any1 help me? For some reason this wont work.. Index is jsut returned blank ... Hmm Index.php : <?php include("http://www.website.com/cookie.php"); ?> Cookie.php: <?php if (isset($_COOKIE["background"])) $background = $_COOKIE['background']; else $background = " bgcolor='#FFFFFF'"; ?> It works perfectly if I just enter the code without using a include ... I have a php page which is ran after a form is posted from the previous page. I am having trouble getting the SQL strings to work. When the page is ran online there is no WSOD or error message but the tables in my database are not being updated. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
