PHP - Script Hanging, Not Displaying Output
I'm writing a script to grab some info from a list of urls in the database, but it just continuously loads and doesn't display anything.

The values are being correctly processed and inserted into the db, apart from the echo $json. For example, a user will input 3 input elements in a form. item1.item2,item3, Jquery will serialize and then send to the php page using $.ajax. It finds their logo and creates an output which is all logos associated with a country, and the logo has a href to link to a company page. The f_print function finds the logos, and their sizes. So the 'mainlogo' type is a pull down of the thumbnail at 200px size.
What I need to do is write CSS and PHP which will display these results in a grid, 4 colums across, and as many down as results from the array. At the moment all I can get is all the results in one column. What tutorials would I need to write appropriate CSS to create this, and then is it as simple as adding the div prior to the echo of the $echo variable? Thanks Hi friends,
Another security issue but this time its regarding outputting data from a DB to a browser. Please have a look at the code below which displays some output fetched from a DB and sends it to a browser.
1. If I just wish to display this output on a screen and not provide the user with any buttons or hyperlinks to interact with the information, would I still need to sanitize the output before echoing it to the screen ?
2. If I was to make at least one of the fields a hyperlink, so that I could then display some related information on another webpage, what security concerns would I need to address in my code?
3. If I was to add a button against each of these records, on each row, and then select some related information on another webpage after processing the button handler, what would be the security concerns that I should address for the code below.

I'm in the mist of doing a login script for a new site. I have the script working, just as long as you get it right the first time, because after that, it seems to hang on the delay. Script is below

Basically, its supposed to show the returned error message for 4 seconds, then show the login form again. I'm using a regular button, not the submit type button. I don't have any errors in firebug. Anyone have any ideas?
(i know about show and hide, but those caused entirely to many problems).

I am testing on a wamp windows setup. What I want to do is output an image or text to a div in a page, pause for 3 seconds then output a new pic or text to overwrite it. BUT the thing I cant do is pause the output, as you see above I have tried an empty counting loop and the sleep function. Neither work as the pause happens before ANY output and then the div shows up with the merged outputs? Anyone explain to me how to do this and why does the sleep not occur wher it is placed? Hi, I have a script that reads data from a website and insert this into a DB and every time a record is written into DB the script gives an output on the screen When I run this script local on my computer it runs ok and the screen update is every 20 or 30 seconds (not realtime) i though this maybe because of my computer is to slow etc. When I upload this to the server, it's even worse, no updates at all but it does insert the records into the DB. Of course, it is bad practice anyways... Is there any way to make it easy for a user to download the image with a .png extension instead of .php. I have shifted mysql database and the php script to new server with REDHAT RHEL4.4. now when I execute the script from website, it displays junk character (reading form mysql database through php script). There is no error in mysql database/table and script is working fine in redhat 8. I have checked php.ini for default characterset as well as set the encoding in mysql as latin1. How do I got about outputing one row that can only hold one value? Any reason why the function below doesn't work?
