I've decided to rewrite one a couple of my forms, to make them more user friendly.

But I am having problems returning the error. I've created an array ($e) which has the field name ($e['field_name']) for the error, but it isn't displaying any errors.

I have created a form where the user enters their first name, last name, work hours, and rate. I want to add a check so that once submit is pressed, the page will return an error if one of the fields was left blank. How can I do it?? I have been trying for hours...

As some of y'all may not know, I am new to this php coding stuff so if anything does not work the way I want it to, it goes to the forum. And this is the case when just after I solved a problem with my first contact form, I run into another problem again. My latest problem involves the form error thing that tells you that you did not enter any required fields. After I added a error message thing to my contact page and tested it, it doesn't show up.

I am pretty new to PHP and am trying to create a simple (so I assumed) page to takes data from one html page(works fine) and updates a MYSQL Database. I am getting no error message, but the connect string down to the end of the body section is showing up as plain text in my browser window. I do not know how to correct this. I have tried using two different types of connect strings and have verified my names from the HTML page are the same as listed within the php page. Suggestions on what I need to look for to correct would be great. I have looked online, but so far all I am getting is how to connect, or how to create a comment, so I thought I would try here.

First, I'd like to apologize for my behavior, I didn't really "do anything wrong per se" I just get impulsive sometimes haha bad start I am so close to finishing this website, which I will use to sell myself as a person who fixes computers I am stuck on this problem, for all the pages Either I can error check but data is not recorded in the tables Or the error checking works but data is not recorded The problem seems to be "triggered" by removing $errors[]=""; Also I'd like to say hello to QuickOldCar Anyway here is the php parts of a single web page, this problem is shared on all of them except the index page which has successful error checking, session data retrieval and redirecting / updating data I've spent days trying to fix this amongst other things (pretty sad right) this is literally one of the final problems to be solved before I'm ready to get his website indexed / advertise it Thanks for any help

I am a new developer, trying to figure out what causing a memory error. The code goes through registered appointments and depends on the service ID, I have to free a 45 minutes for another service to be booked. Now, once I book an appointment for any of the services that can have 45 minutes free spot, the website takes forever to load the hours but doesn't show them, instead I get this error

How is it possible, in PHP, to display an error message next to a form input text field if a user is attempting to submit a form with empty fields? Moreover, how is it possible to remove the same error message when the user fills in the input field with the required data and/or refreshes the page?

I have 2 files that I am working with: application.php and process.php.

application.php mainly has the HTML of the form.
process.php has the PHP for processing and validating the form.

I am very new to learning PHP (I started learning it last week) and I have been searching for hours for a clear answer. I have already tried different methods for generating the error message including: using empty(), !isset, $_POST["name"] = "", etc, and have tried using session_start();, $row, echo, print, and other variables to try and display error message on the page, and I have tried using unset();, and = null, to try and remove the error message once the input field has been filled but all to no avail. Either the method I try only half works, or nothing works, and I cannot pinpoint which is the part that is not working.

I only have 2 files to work with, and as an example of what I want to do is:

1. If the first name field is empty when the user clicks submit, an error message should appear next to the input.
2. If the user fills in the input and clicks submit, the form should be processed and added to the database.
3. When the user returns to the application to page to fill in another application form, the error message should not appear.

Is this possible with PHP?

What they have already filled out is to show in the text field. Before I was doing the user level check it worked fine. Even now if something is put in a field it saves in the DB but it will not show in the fields on the form.

SECOND PROBLEM:If a user has made a mistake, he gets the error message so that he can correct! However, when a mistake in the form occurs, all the data the user has entered are disappeared! I want the data to keep appearing so that the user does not start over again to fill the form.

THIRD: When the erro message is displayed to notify the user that he made a mistake when submitting the form, the message is displaying on the top of the page. I want it to appear below each respective field. How to do that? In JQuery it is simple, but in PHP, I am confusing!
