PHP - Curl Working From Localhost But Not On Live Site

hello - dear phpfreaks, i portet over a wordpress site to localhost. (an opensuse linux-box)

all went nice and was very smooth to do so.

after porting over the files and the db;
i added the db-name and user-name etc. but nothing more.
then i looked at the site http://localhost/mysite

i saw the site - but only once -  that is very very interesting.

i read that i have to do more.  Probably these changes - mentioned below are mandantory in order to avoid a blank page

  The two fields you need to edit are “siteurl” (highlighted above) and “home” (which you may need to navigate to the second page to find). Just click the “Edit” buttons next to each field, and replace the URL contained in “option_value” with “http://localhost/yourfoldername/”.
That’s it! If you now navigate to “http://localhost/yourfoldername/”, your site should load up in all its glory. Please note that if you use custom permalinks, you will need to change them to default (in the WordPress > Settings > Permalinks screen) in order for internal links on your site to work. You can of course change the permalinks back to their custom form at any time.  
question: is this true? Do i need to make these changes to avoid a blank page!?
 

i've use php-event-calender for showing event from table.when i click on event date, it's dispay table details for relevent date correctly in localhost.but it's didn't show details in live server.

I have a database search engine that I'm currently working on, everything seems to be working fine locally including pagination but as soon as i upload the site online, the pagination doesn't work properly. when you use the search bar the results on the first page are correct, but as soon as you click next or page 2 it automatically returns wrong data. how can i fix this since it works fine locally???

Hi, I am trying to make a registration form for users. The registration is for a seminar introducing a particular system for them. This (web based) system is merely a remote website. But in order for the users to actually use the system at the seminar, they HAVE to have logged in on the system in advance/prior to the seminar at least once. So in my registration form I want to include a curl login of the system, which should be invisible to the users. Hence I don't want to open a popup loading the system/remote site - I would like for this to happen without the users knowing it. So they enter username and password, Curl then does the login and then returns either "Succes! You were logge in!" or  "There was an error. You were not logged in!".

I have no use for additional information from the remote site - the only thing is that they should login this once - that's it. My code is below - and it works if the remote site is NOT using https (that is http ;-)) but if the remote site IS running https I get no message back.

The line "if (stristr($result, "loginerrors"))" is set because the remote site includes the keyword "loginerrors" if you weren't logged in properly.

 Any suggestions?

Hi guys, what I'm struggling to do is

1) Users land on https://www.mysite.com/login.php
2) Users type their email and password
3) POST data submitted to http://www.3rdparty.com/login.php with cURL
4) Users redirected to http://www.3rdparty.com/index.php (logged in).

I've been using this simple form to POST directly to the 3rd party site.

This works great. But now I've installed a SSL on my site and I've just realised that using the form above, the data is still POSTed as a plain text because the 3rd party site is not https.
So I want to submit the form to my login.php form and let this form take the users to the 3rd party site. So at least the user inputs to my site is encrypted.

What this code is doing now is it's just rendering the www.3rdparty.com's login page (not logged in) on my site.
When I type wrong values, it renders www.3rdparty.com's login page with an error message on it.
So I think at least the values are being POSTed but it doesn't log me in.
All of the cURL codes available out there seem to POST the data and fetch some results back not redirecting the users to another site.
My ultimate goal is to POST the form and redirect the users to the 3rd party site's member area as well.
I tried header("Location: http://www.3rdparty.com/index.php"); but it just takes user to that page without being logged in.

Could anyone give me some hints?

I have an integration with a third party that utilizes a SOAP API.  On my current server AND my local environment, this works fine.

I recently deployed a new server and it seems that cURL isn't doing anything.  *The code is identical on all three installations.

The "error" that I am seeing is no response at all (no response and no error, however, I can see that it is a "Resource").

After much trial and error, I tried creating a simple cURL example to test try to rule out other issues as the code itself is quite complex.  My simple example, that also fails, is as follows:

What would cause cURL to not have a response AND not have an error?  My thought is a server setting, but I can't seem to find what might be causing this.

I have never used cURL before but I need to use it for developing a facebook application. What I am trying to do is create a status update scheduler. There are two tables in my database. One table has generic updates for each day of the week an the other had special events. My script checks the day, checks to see if there is a special event in the future on that day, and if there is reminds guests of the upcoming event. If there is no event it posts the generic status.

The problem seems to be occurring when the While loop is accessed. I have used 'echo' to follow the variables through the script and it all seems to be working. However if I try and execute the cURL and the While Loop has run then it does not seem to work. I know the cURL part works becuase if the variables cause the first IF statement default to ELSE then it runs fine.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Users make entries into a form on my site which are then sent to a remote server which generates a variable length page of results for the users perusal.  I want the results to be displayed on my site but I discover that iframe height is a problem so I am trying PHP in a separate file to avoid an iframe.  Then maybe I can cache the result pages and display them without any height difficulties and not having to fiddle with javascript.

The first PHP code I try is prevented from working and I discover that the apparent cause is the issue of fopen and fsockopen etc. being set to off by the host that I use because of security concerns:

Hi everyone   I've look all other the web for a work around that. basically my problem is:   if i use file_get_contents or curl to get www.google.fr, there is NO problem. i get the data i want but when i try to use it on another target it doesn't work. it loads and loads for couple seconds and finally says that it could not retrieve informations. the target is not blocked as i can personnally use it on my webhost, but some people on other webhosts can't.   A friend of mine told me that it was because some webhosts blocks unsecure targets.   Is there any way around it?

Anyone have any idea why the data is not being fetched? If I copy and paste the URL into my browser window it returns results just fine, so I know the problem is not with the URL.

My goal is to process all redirects serverside and simply return the user to the 'final' URL.

Here's my function to get the final URL:

For some reason, this works no problem, posts any data over to the URLs serverside, redirects serverside, and passes the client to the final URL, with none of the redirection displayed via HTTPWatch or any similar debug utility. Sometimes, however, it does show phases of redirection.

Any insight into what I might be doing incorrectly?
