PHP - Resize Image After Uploading To Database/folder

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure if this is HTML, PHP or Javascript, but my best guess is PHP.

When you upload an image on Facebook, it automatically gathers the data about the image, i.e. size, device used (i.e. Canon, iPhone), title and description. It then outputs this on the page.

Is there anyway to do this with PHP, instead of having to type all the information out again and upload that with the photo to a database?

when cliking the submit button, i would like 'image name' to go in database and file to go in

What I'm trying to do is have users upload their event information into a database which would include a flyer.  I don't want the image file to go into the database (other than the filename) rather I'd like it to be dropped into a directory.  In the same script I'd like to dynamically generate a thumbnail.  I have the two scripts and separately they work fine, but I can't get them to work together.

I'm guessing the conflict because the thumbnail script is using $_POST and the mysql script is using $_SESSION.  If so how can I modify them to both use $_SESSION?

The thumbnail script is goes from line 1 - 146 and the mysql portion is the rest.

I was wondering if there is a way to use PHP to resize images when they are a above a size limit?


Im not referring to file size here, but rather the width by height ratio. As currently i upload images and echo them with:

But this means my server is loading large images when i would rather resize them down upon upload to reduce loading times...


Is this possible in php ?

Everything else writes perfectly but I have been trying ways to create a file upload and write successfully to the database. The 'image' field has a data type of 'varchar'.

I apologise immensely for the long winded explanation but if anyone could help me please that would be much appreciated.

Hello, i have a textarea which can contains too long sentences in a row and many new lines

i have a div which is auto height and retrieve each message from the textarea .. the thing is that i want to resize it so it can fit inside the width of the dive which is about 700px .. i tried getting all sentences between each newline and resize then if they are >80 chars and then add <br />

but the login doesnt seem correct..

how else can i achieve that?

I have been looking around and have not been able to find any useful information on this.  I am trying to transfer files from a folder in the directory to a table in a database.  Eventually they will be images but for right now I am just trying to get text files to transfer.  Any help/code/ideas would be a lot of help.  This is going to be triggered a button on a page by the way.

hey guys, I'm getting a problem uploading my csv file to mysql database, the code on the top half just makes sure that I don't import data that I don't want into the database, numbers that are too high or too low on certain rows, and the second half is importing the array that I create from the csv file into the database however I'm getting the following error       Duplicate entry 'Array' for key 'strProductCode'   Now I've never had this error before and I'm not sure what's causing it so any help would be very much appreciated

Hey guys, i'm new to this site and would need some help with coding. 

So i'm making a car part website which should has brand/model search. It's a dropdown search which will get the brand / model from database and should display all the parts for that exact model, from folder. 

Database structure which i have is id, master, name. ( Here's some pictures to clear out what i'm doing. http://imgur.com/a/7XwVd )  So the problem is that it does not get the images from folder named ex: *_audi_a3.jpg.

Basically i have a folder with 100+ images they are NOT all the same extension, what im wanting to do is use PHP to find all the images and put them all in a database. how would i go about doing this?
