PHP - Is This Php Related?

Hello again!

I've been trying out new things (well, new for me) in php again.  This time I decided to try a real challenge and make a forum system.  A friend suggested I use a class for all database functionalities.  i was reluctant at first, but decided if I was going to try using classes for the first time, it might as well be with this.  With some guiding help, I set up the files and gave it a visual once over to check for errors.  Nothing seemed out of place, but when I loaded the page to try it out, I got this error:

I didn't see anything out of line, so I consulted my friend about it.  He made a few small adjustment suggestions, but nothing fixed the issue.  I then bugged my host about it, and he couldn't find anything wrong either.  Both people are highly experienced in php, so when they say it SHOULD be working I am left rather confused.

My aim here was to have a single page to display the groups, sections, topics, and posts in order to keep database calls where I could find them easily.

I have tried everything from adjusting the php tags to putting the class directly in the page.

The config file just provides the user, pass, and which database to connect to.  I've checked it's formatting a few times just in case.

Im running a website about health and foods. I would like that at the end of each article, it shows other related articles that I have on my website. Im relatively new with php and mysql so I figure I have to put every page onto a database table.    I looked already everywhere but all I found is how to do with wordpress. But i'm not using anything like that.  I made the website myself with css and html and php.    Can somebody help me with a website where they explain how to do?   Also I would like that automatically it shows my latest articles in a sidebar. Without anytime adding myself manually.   Can anybody help me? 

Hi guys,

I know this is a bit of a messy question, but i have a problem with some code that my friend wrote, and now i don't know how to fix it.

Basically there is a line of code on my site, and what my friend told me was that this specific line of code has to do with the server and is similar to a ticking clock.

What he told me is that it is a "counted related value" which needs to been changed every now and then when it hits the servers limit.

This actually means nothing to me, but i'm hoping some one out there knows what my friend means. Anyway this is the line of code i need to change, or in fact the number i need to change. The problem is that as i dont really know what i'm doing i have no idea as to what to change the number to.

Please help guys, I really need to fix this asap. Anyways this is the code:

not for certain this is a PHP issue, but on every page of my site, at the bottom, this error displays. Doesn't affect any of the code execution as far as I can tell, but it's annoying. Anyone else seen this?

Error in my_thread_global_end(): 1 threads didn't exit

I am trying to store website address in a variable but when I do so the dots in the address are missing. I guess it takes it as string concatenation, for example:
$address='www.lottocomplete.com';
will actually give me: wwwlottocompletecom
How can I make sure these dots will be preserved?

I am also trying to store email address in a variable but I get error, something about @ symbol being in wrong spot, wonder how this can be resolved as well.

One more questions relates to the new line issue that I have when I concatenate string, for example if I do the following:

$string = "1\n";
$string .= "2\n";
$string .= "3\n";

I would think that each number would be printed on new line but instead it shows up as: 123

What am I doing wrong?

I'm looking for (1) a code to analyze the current page and show main words of the text, and (2) capturing similar words from the internet.

Hey guys for some reason my script is being strange.

If you notice the echo it outputs the successfully executed, tho the mysql query doesn't go through for some strange issue even through it says it does since I got the or die(mysql_error) thing and it still doesn't output a error. So I got a hard time finding the problem.

Here's a neat little script that you simply use by calling yourscript.php?microsoft (where microsoft is any keyword you want) and it returns 100 related keywords.  It's pretty raw in it's form.  I didn't write it. 
Purely for learning, I'm trying to figure out how to
1) issue a line break between each item in the elements of the arry? 
2) return only the keywords and not the associated array info. 

Currently, it returns results like:

Hi, I'm trying to set up a page which first queries for mySQL record results matching a country that the user selects. This works fine, but in the event of there being no records for that country, I want it to look at another field, "Region" and pick the records matching that Region instead.

For example, a user searches for "Australia" but there are no matching records. So, I want it to pick all the records for the region of Australasia, and display records for Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and so on.

I had created the following:

But the problem is that $region is always blank / empty in the cases where $query is empty, so I can't pull the value out and therefore $query2 is also empty...

I have an facebook application, I look in the errors log routinely to see if there are any abnormalities. Today, I found one.

I tried to help a user of mine get their account back on track, however, re-authenticating the application seems like the only way to fix it. It works for most of the users, however, there are a couple few who get my exception message.

I have a few tables in a project and i'm linking pages together via PK/FK's.

i have a main table with client names,
ID, CLIENT NAME, ETC

i have a table with communications
COMMID, ID, CONTACT NAMES, ETC

and another of communication history.
COMMHISTORYID, COMMID, DATE, TIME, ETC

I'm not sure how to write the query so that i can view/update information from all 3 tables on the same webpage page using php/mysql. I'd appreciate any assistance you may provide. thanks.

Problem is i need to also submit some data to a database when the buy button is clicked and i cant have a form with two actions - therefore i need to change from what i have above to the form action being "paypal.php".

That paypal.php script needs to do 2 things:  1) submit some data to my mysql database (that part i can do) and 2) submitting some &_session data to the paypal url (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr) just the same as the HTML form does...and take the user to that url...how do i do this? lol. 

I have no idea where to start in converting the below portion of the above form into a php code that a) submits to a url and (rather than a database) and b) redirects the user to that same url:

Now that I got this, I loop through images located in a folder that way:

I echo'ed the resize function to see what's being run and I got that:

It looks like it's reusing an instantiation of the previous object and so on and so forth.

In my mind, the way it should look is:

The previous object is destructed, the new one has the old id.

how does that work?

The reason I ask and wonder about this is because I'm having weird result for the resize such as a ridiculously small picture mini size in the actual mini size picture (250 px) except whatever is left is filled with black.
