PHP - Problems With Image Upload Script
Hi guys,
I've got an image uploader based on Uploadify, first let me set out what I want the script to do and what it currently does/doesn't do: Upload files of various types into folders named with the Order ID - OK Process the files by checking the file type and acting accordingly - OK Create thumbnails of the images in the /thumbs subdirectory - OK If the file is a PDF, create JPEG images of all pages and subsequent thumbnails - OK If the file is a ZIP, unzip and re-process the contents based on the above rules - FAIL As you can see I'm nearly at the end of my wishlist with this script, currently when it receives a ZIP file is unzip's it correctly placing the contents in the parent (Order-ID) directory however I'm then left with the same situation I have at the very beginning of the script, for example: File in -> "What kind of file are you?" -> Process file based on the answer. What I need to do is: File in -> "What kind of file are you? Oh! a Zip File, let's unzip and ask the same question of the contents!" -> Process contents. So basically I need to ask the same question twice, once of the zip and once of the contents of the unzipped file. This is where I'm struggling, someone told me to use a function which I tried but it kept breaking and I wasn't sure why. Therefore I have attached 2 files. 1 which currently works 99% except for "asking the question again" and one which doesn't work but I was told is the right way to do it File 1: Works 99%. Code: [Select] <?php /* TomBigFile v2.0 Based on Uploadify v2.1.4 Automatic folder creation dependant on order number with a thumbnail subdirectory. Similar TutorialsHi everyone, I have a page that i use to upload images to my website, i got a bit fed up of uploading one at a time so i decided to add multiple file fields to the form to upload multiple images at the same time. Im having a few problems, iv read up he http://www.php.net/manual/en/features.file-upload.multiple.php and it seems all i have to do is add [] to the form names to turn them into arrays. However when i come to upload the images, i keep getting the "$error[] = "Incorrect format!...." error from the code below. I cant seem to figure out what the problem is. The 2 problems I am having. 1. If the copy image fails the script doesn't and still creates a database entry. I would like to stop it from doing that but can't seem to work it out. 2. My mate is getting file type errors even though he is trying to upload small .jpg files. I can't seem to recreate the problem. Maybe someone can see something that might be problematic?? What I want is when a new width and height is specified, if it is squared i.e. new width is equal to new height AND the original image is not squared i.e. it is a vertical or horizontal rectangle then the central part of that image will be taken. So for example if the user uploads an image 500px high and 100px wide and sets the new width and height both at 100px the new image should be a 100px by 100px square which is taken 200px from the top of the original image. Here is the functions I currently use so far. It's just the coordinates function I can't seem to figure out. Can anyone please help me out:- Code: [Select] //gets the extension of an uploaded file function getExtension($file) { $i = strrpos($file,".");//Gets the position of the "." in the filename if (!$i) { return ""; }//If there is no "." the function ends and returns "" $l = strlen($file) - $i; $ext = substr($file,$i+1,$l); $ext = strtolower($ext); return $ext; } //checks image dimensions and scales both sizes by ratio if it exceeds the max //$w = width, $mw = max width, $h = height, $mh = max height, function checkSize($w, $mw, $h, $mh){ if($w > $mw){//Checks if width is greater than max width $ratio = $mw / $w; $h = $h * $ratio; $h = round($h); $w = $mw; } if($h > $mh){//Checks if height is greater than max height $ratio = $mh / $h; $w = $w * $ratio; $w = round($w); $h = $mh; } return array($w, $h); } //Used to get the coordinates to resize an image by function getCoords(){ } //$f = the file, $ext = file extension, $nw = new width, $nh = new height, $mw = max width, $mh = max height, $nf = new filename, $fo = folder, $des = file size description, $q = quality function imageUpload($f, $ext, $nw, $nh, $mw, $mh, $nf, $fo, $des, $q){ //create image from uploaded file type if($ext=="jpg" || $ext=="jpeg" ){ $src = imagecreatefromjpeg($f); }else if($ext=="png"){ $src = imagecreatefrompng($f); }else{ $src = imagecreatefromgif($f); } //creates a list of the width and height of the image list($w,$h)=getimagesize($f); //sets the coordinates for resizing to 0 by default $dx = $dy = $sx = $sy = 0; //if new width and height are both 0 then a resize is not required so original dimensions need to be validated in case they exceed their max if($nw == 0 && $nh == 0){ if($w > $mw || $h > $mh){//checks if width or height are greater than their max list($w, $h) = checkSize($w, $mw, $h, $mh); } $nw = $w; $nh = $h; }else if($nw == $nh && $w !== $h){//this is for if the resized image needs to be squared but the original image is not a square //COORDS FUNCTION NEEDED HERE } $desext = "";//sets the description extension to "" by default if($des !== 0){//Checks if $des is set or not $desext .= "_".$des;//appends des to $desext ready to be appended to the filename } $foext = "";//sets the folder extension to "" by default if($fo !== 0){//Checks if $fo is set or not $foext .= $fo."/";//appends folder to $foext ready to be appended to the filename } $qv = 100;//sets the quality value to 100 percent by default if($q !== 0){//Checks if $q is set or not $qv .= $q;//sets the quality value to the passed value } $tmp=imagecreatetruecolor($nw,$nh); imagecopyresampled($tmp,$src,$dx,$dy,$sx,$sy,$nw,$nh,$w,$h); $fn = "images/".$foext.$nf.$desext.".jpg";//sets the final filename for upload imagejpeg($tmp,$fn,$qv);//uploads the file //empty variables and clear image imagedestroy($src); imagedestroy($tmp); } Hi all! I have a problem with an image uploading script and at the moment it keeps the image name the same, obviously people don't have very adventurous names for their images "image1" and they are over writing each other. Ultimate Aim: To upload multiple images using ajax using a PHP script which will be fired once an image is selected and then return the resulting URL for use in rest of my JS http://peter-gosling...hooseimage.html simple form posts to http://peter-gosling...d/saveimage.php This PHP script below currently gets the posted image and assigns it a random number file name and echos this <?php header("Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *"); $uploaddir = '/home/petergos/public_html/testupload/images/'; $uploadfile = $uploaddir . basename($_FILES['userfile']['name']); $urlpath = "http://www.peter-gosling.co.uk/testupload/images/"; $temp = explode(".",$_FILES["userfile"]["name"]); $newfilename = rand(1,999999999) . I am in the process of designing a site similar to dating sites like plenty of fish, or ok cupid. The only spot I am running into trouble is with images.
If you are familiar with either of these sites, you will understand what I am looking for.
Basically, a user is able to upload one or more images via an uploader (Not sure if it's ajax or flash to be honest, but I would like to stick to PHP/Ajax).
While uploading, they have the ability to crop their images to specific sizes set by the site - for example, the image must be cropped to fit a 400 px X 400 px area, so they have the ability to decide which part of a larger image is saved rather than just have the system crop it and perhaps not show what was intended.
After they finish and click upload, the image is saved to the server, as well as a thumbnail, which, without a refresh, is then added to their page along with their previous images if there were any. From that point, they have the option to delete images they don't like, set the main image for their profile and edit/add captions to the images, again, all without refreshing the page.
Would anyone happen to know of a script I could start with and change to suit my needs, but that would pretty much allow this kind of image uploading/manipulation? I've done google searches for hours now and have looked at a ton of scripts but not a single one I have found seems to be able to do any of these things. Most just have multiple file uploads with cropping ability, but not by the users themselves, just a predetermined dimension.
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I have an image uploading script that won't upload images... It worked at one point when i had folder permission at 0777 but i was told that is risky so i changed it to 0775 Now it won't work and i can't use 0777. Any one know what i need to do to get it to work? This is my script: Code: [Select] <?php $salt = 35322232414; $name = $salt.$safe; $name = md5($name); if(isset($_POST['submit'])){ if ((($_FILES["file"]["type"] == "image/gif") || ($_FILES["file"]["type"] == "image/jpeg") || ($_FILES["file"]["type"] == "image/png") || ($_FILES["file"]["type"] == "image/gif") || ($_FILES["file"]["type"] == "image/pjpeg")) && ($_FILES["file"]["size"] < 1000000)) { if ($_FILES["file"]["error"] > 0) { echo $_FILES["file"]["error"]; } else { $filename = md5(serverdate()) . $_FILES["file"]["name"]; if (file_exists("userimages/".$name."/".$filename)) { echo "Image already uploaded!"; } else { if (is_dir("userimages/".$name) == FALSE){ mkdir("userimages/".$name, 0775); //permissions } move_uploaded_file($_FILES["file"]["tmp_name"], "userimages/".$name."/" . $filename); echo "Image has been uploaded!"; } Error i get: Quote Warning: move_uploaded_file(images/73640de25b7d656733ce2f808a330f18/7fc9cb9cf5ae1f7a5dd9105d3f9559fb_63.jpg) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in uploadfile.php on line 41 Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/tmp/phpjrX3SO' to 'images/73640de25b7d656733ce2f808a330f18/7fc9cb9cf5ae1f7a5dd9105d3f9559fb_63.jpg' in uploadfile.php on line 4 Hi all I have a script that takes up to 3 images and resizes them. It works except for if you try and upload images over roughly 500kb. I then get the message: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of X bytes exhausted (tried to allocate Y bytes) Here's a snippet of the code for one image: Code: [Select] // Process image 1 : if(!empty($_FILES['image1']['name'])) { $imagelarge = $_FILES['image1']['tmp_name']; $imagelargemain = $_FILES['image1']['name']; $pathInfo = pathinfo($imagelargemain); $rand = rand(1, 100000000000000); $name = $rand . WHERE id='".$insertid."'") or die ("Error updating database"); } Any ideas why this happens? Many thanks Pete Hi all, As you will see this is my first post in I really hope somebody can nail this for me, as I have been working on this for some time and I cannot get it to work. Basically this is the final part of a CMS I'm building, and all was fine until I needed to build in an option of a multiple image uploader to accompany all other stock details. I have managed to nail the 'insert' part of the multiple image uploader in this case up to 4 images, and the code is below for this part, any help with improvements though will be greatly appreciated. Code: [Select] if(isset($_POST['btnsubmit'])) { $flag=$_POST['flag']; if ($flag==0) { $name=$_POST['txtname']; $desc1=$_POST['e1m1']; $meta=$_POST['txtmeta']; $sr=$_POST['srno1']; $name=$_POST['txtname']; $ref=$_POST['Ref']; $desc=$_POST['e1m1']; $maker=$_POST['Maker']; $date=$_POST['Date']; $weight=$_POST['Weight']; $height=$_POST['Height']; $depth=$_POST['Depth']; $width=$_POST['Width']; $price=$_POST['txtprice']; $sold=$_POST['txtsold']; $active=$_POST['active']; $pcats=$_POST['pcats']; $subcats=$_POST['subcats']; $str_str=''; $p=''; $j=0; for($i=0;$i<=3;$i++){ $j++; $p=$_REQUEST['p$j']; $file=$_FILES['pic']['name'][$i]; if(!empty($file) ){ $str_str.=",pic$j='$file'"; } else if(!empty($p))$str_str.=",pic$j='$p'"; $path1="imgdata/stock/".$file; copy($_FILES['pic']['tmp_name'][$i], $path1); } $q24=mysql_query("update stock set stock_Name='$name', stock_MetaTitle='$meta', parent_Category='$pcats', sub_Category='$subcats', stock_Image='imgdata/stock/$pic[0]', stock_Image2='imgdata/stock/$pic[1]', stock_Image3='imgdata/stock/$pic[2]', stock_Image4='imgdata/stock/$pic[3]', stock_Ref='$ref', stock_Description='$desc1', stock_Maker='$maker', stock_Date='$date', stock_Weight='$weight', stock_Height='$height', stock_Depth='$depth',stock_Width='$width', stock_Price='$price', stock_Sold='$sold', stock_Active='$active', stock_DateTime='$dt2' where stock_Id=$sr") or die (mysql_error()); $flag=1; $conf="Data Updated Successfully - Click <a href='http://www.accendsandbox.co.uk/adminSallam/admin_categories.php'>here</a> to continue"; $update="1"; Code: [Select] <tr> <td bgcolor="#A0B050" width="161"> <div style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; position:relative; font-size:12px; color:#293334; font-weight:bold; position:relative; float:left; left:1px;">Stock Image 1 (Main):</div> </td> <td bgcolor="#888888"> <input type="file" name="pic1[]" id="pic1[]" size="50" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#A0B050" width="161"> <div style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; position:relative; font-size:12px; color:#293334; font-weight:bold; position:relative; float:left; left:1px;">Stock Image 2:</div> </td> <td bgcolor="#888888"> <input type="file" name="pic1[]" id="pic1[]" size="50" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#A0B050" width="161"> <div style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; position:relative; font-size:12px; color:#293334; font-weight:bold; position:relative; float:left; left:1px;">Stock Image 3:</div> </td> <td bgcolor="#888888"> <input type="file" name="pic1[]" id="pic1[]" size="50" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#A0B050" width="161"> <div style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; position:relative; font-size:12px; color:#293334; font-weight:bold; position:relative; float:left; left:1px;">Stock Image 4:</div> </td> <td bgcolor="#888888"> <input type="file" name="pic1[]" id="pic1[]" size="50" /> </td> </tr> <input type="submit" name="btnsubmit" value="Submit"> <input type="submit" name="btndelete" value="Delete" DEFANGED_OnClick="return check();"> <input type="hidden" name="srno1" value="<?= $rows["stock_Id"];?>"> <input type="hidden" name="action" value="Upload"> All seems to be fine above, I can upload 1,2,3 or 4 images and the image goes into the server and the path to the database. So here is my attempt and at the moment it doesnt work, so I'm looking for help of any kid and anything can change. I can provide anything you need to help me with this, so please can somebody take a look and see if it can be got working, as its been a long problem for me this. Cheers So this script did work in previous versions oh php but in php5 I get the error, "Sorry, uploaded images must be of type jpg or jpeg, (not )." So it looks like it's not recognizing my file as a jpeg?? Any contributions towards a fix are GREATLY appreciated!!! If there are clean, nice (EASY) php5 scripts available for this simple image uploading and thumbnail creation I would consider starting this over. //Listing page code: echo "<form name=\"addCat\" enctype=\"multipart/form-data\" action=\"preview.php\" method=\"post\">"; <INPUT type="file" name="pic1" size="50" value=""> <INPUT type="file" name="pic2" size="50" value=""> <INPUT type="file" name="pic3" size="50" value=""> <INPUT type="file" name="pic4" size="50" value=""> <input type="submit" value="Upload Images"> //preview.php page code: $pic1 = $_FILES['pic1']; $pic2 = $_FILES['pic2']; $pic3 = $_FILES['pic3']; $pic4 = $_FILES['pic4']; function ResizeImage($im,$maxwidth,$maxheight,$name){ $width = imagesx($im); $height = imagesy($im); if(($maxwidth && $width > $maxwidth) || ($maxheight && $height > $maxheight)){ if($maxwidth && $width > $maxwidth){ $widthratio = $maxwidth/$width; $RESIZEWIDTH=true; } if($maxheight && $height > $maxheight){ $heightratio = $maxheight/$height; $RESIZEHEIGHT=true; } if($RESIZEWIDTH && $RESIZEHEIGHT){ if($widthratio < $heightratio){ $ratio = $widthratio; }else{ $ratio = $heightratio; } }elseif($RESIZEWIDTH){ $ratio = $widthratio; }elseif($RESIZEHEIGHT){ $ratio = $heightratio; } $newwidth = $width * $ratio; $newheight = $height * $ratio; if(function_exists("imagecopyresampled")){ $newim = imagecreatetruecolor($newwidth, $newheight); imagecopyresampled($newim, $im, 0, 0, 0, 0, $newwidth, $newheight, $width, $height); }else{ $newim = imagecreate($newwidth, $newheight); imagecopyresized($newim, $im, 0, 0, 0, 0, $newwidth, $newheight, $width, $height); } ImageJpeg (($newim),$name . My server supports GD Library and that imagemagik or whatever it is lol. upload dirs orig: ../media/photos/ thumb: ../media/photos/thumb/ mySQL DB: name: m_photos fields: id(INT) m_cat(varchar) m_sub_cat(varchar) pic(varchar) description(varchar) p_group(varchar) I have the form written up for how it should look like: Code: [Select] <form action="upload.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> Upload an image for processing<br /> <input type="file" name="Image"><br /> <select name="sub_group"> <option value="Photo Shoot">Photo Shoot</option> <option value="Live Performances">Live Performances</option> <option value="Randoms">Randoms</option> <option value="Fan Photos">Fan Photos</option> </select><br /> Location: <input type="text" name="p_group" /><br /> Date of Pic: <input type="text" name="date" /><br /> Description: <input type="text" name="description" /><br /> <input type="submit" value="Upload"> </form> so what needs to happen is for the file upload name. it needs to grab a count from "p_group" database to give it a starting number in a "00" pattern and then the date of pic needs to go in there next then the p_group name. so when the files gets uploaded it would look something like this after upload. "03 - Oct 21, 2011 - The Mex.jpg" NOTE: all pics must be converted to ".jpg" extension. both the orig and thumb will use that same file name cuz they just go into different dirs re-sizing for the thumbnail should be done by aspect ratio and needs to either be 300px width or 400px height. so if anyone would like to help me out please do. im not the greatest at writing in php yet The Script:

"/gallerysite/multiple_image_upload/uploads/"; //Declaring Path for uploaded imagesThe script itself works fine. The script also uses javascript for multiple image upload. I am using XAMPP. The folder "thumbs" is set to "read-only", when I try to uncheck the "read-only" option in the properties in Windows then it sets itself back again to "read-only". Then again, the script works fine when it comes to the "uploads" folder. This is mentioned in comparison to the "thumbs" folder. Any suggestions on how to solve this? EDIT: I am using XAMPP. The folder "thumbs" is set to "read-only", when I try to uncheck the "read-only" option in the properties in Windows then it sets itself back again to "read-only". I am wondering if I would have issue that the option sets itself back again with Linux? Edited by glassfish, 11 October 2014 - 05:35 PM. Heya all, as the title says, i meet some issues when uploading files to my server, here is the code;
$anime = $_POST['anime']; $anime = $file = str_replace(' ', '\ ', $anime); $anime = "Sous-titres/".$anime."/"; $target_dir = $anime; $target_file = $target_dir . basename($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["name"]); $uploadOk = 1; if(isset($_POST["submit"])) { // Check if file already exists if (file_exists($target_file)) { echo "Sorry, file already exists."; $uploadOk = 0; } // Check file size if ($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["size"] > 50000000) { echo "Sorry, your file is too large."; $uploadOk = 0; } // Check if $uploadOk is set to 0 by an error if ($uploadOk == 0) { echo "Sorry, your file was not uploaded."; // if everything is ok, try to upload file } else { if (move_uploaded_file($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["tmp_name"], $target_file)) { echo "The file " . basename($_FILES["fileToUpload"]["name"]) . " has been uploaded."; } else { var_dump ($target_dir); echo "Sorry, there was an error uploading your file."; } } }So, i'm attempting to acces to a directory taking the name of the anime that the admin put in the input type="text", for upload the file selected in. Error with the var_dump: string(28) "Sous-titres/Akame\ ga\ kill/" Sorry, there was an error uploading your file. Hope you can help me ! Edited by Zane, 08 December 2014 - 10:48 AM. I'm trying to upload images to my server using the $_FILES array but having issues. Here is the upload section from my form: Code: [Select] Cover Art:<input name="coverArt" type="file" /> and my upload script I'm working with: $targetFile="coverart/" . $_FILES['coverArt']['name']; if (file_exists($targetFile)) { echo $targetFile . "<br />"; } if (move_uploaded_file($_FILES['coverArt']['tmp_name'], $targetFile)) { echo "Cover art success"; } else { echo "COVER ART ERROR"; } I'm trying to upload these images to a folder on my server called coverart, however file_exists always seems to be true no matter what and echoing $targetFile only shows my folder name "coverart/" without the filename. So of course move_uploaded_file isn't working either. Any suggestions? |
