PHP - Chenging Page Content (logo) Based On Referring Url Query String...
Hi Folks,
This is my first post here and I was wondering if anyone could help me out at all please. I would basically like to change the logo on the home page based on whether a query string from a referring URL has a specific value. It's an affiliate URL for an online store, so essentially I need to get the referrer, check if the query string adnetwork = as and then replace the logo if it does, if not leave it as it is. Does that make sense? Any help would very much appreciated. My question for anyone here is: I am going to be producing a website similar to the testing site called ""jsFiddle"": https://jsfiddle.net/ . And it is slated to have a huge amount of content on it. for example, a main page might have 100 links on it whereby, if a user clicks on any of them, it should take them to another page (or load async content) that illustrates and example of any given issue being asked about. So, I know we've talked about $_GET before Requinix, and how most websites use it to produce dynamic content. And we've also talked about the concept of markdown. But once again, can someone here remind me....what's the best way to go about doing this? My issue is that I can't think of a way to edit a XML file using PHP's XML functionality and then assign the edited contents to a string instead of saving the file. One option is a switch statement as shown below. Another option is put them in an associated array (or maybe a static array?) and check if the element is set and if not throw an deception. The full versions are located securely behind a paywall, however in a bid to get visitors to purchase them and to promote the members offering I have trailer videos of 30 seconds to one minute and four free images per imageset. I want to be able to restrict the number of images a visitor can view for free to 12 and the number of videos a visitor can play to 5. With a little graphic/overlay notifying the user when they have exceeded their free play/preview limit. I have been advised that a tracking cookie and php if statement would be the way to go to achieve this. I have got a cookie that is successfully logging views that is written to on a free preview link as an onclick function. I have tried writing some php if code that will have the normal thumbnail or video divs display as usual if the views recorded in the cookie are below 12 or five, respectively, and have a not allowed, please subscribe div that would show over the thumbnails or video divs should the number of views exceed the threshold. My PHP code does not seem to be working at all, I have ran it through an online syntax checker - corrected the mistakes and now it's supposed to be working but opts to display nothing instead of either if argument. I've got a Web app that has one form that collects data from the user and puts it into a mysql database and has another form that allows the user to select critiera to find records in the database and display them on the page. All this is working just fine, but now that my database is getting more data in it, I want to add functionality to display 10 records on a page with results page navigation links so the user can move forward and backward in the results set. This part is not working and I've put in echo statements to figure out what the code is doing. The problem I'm having is that when the selection critiera pulls more than 10 records from the database, the first page of results is correct per the selection criteria entered by the user on the select form. When the 'next' link is selected to review the second page of results, the query is executed again. But this time the form variables have been reset and the results now contains the entire contents of the db. The start record is set to look at the 11th instance of the results set, so the second page starts with the 11th record in the database instead of the 11th record in the original results set. The original select statement is built by determining which criteria is selected using $_POST against each form variable. How can I retain the form variables or the original select statement so the second execution of the select statement results in the same results set as the first? The other option that may be better is to retain the original results set and avoid re-executing the select statement altogether. But I don't know how to do that either. Any suggestions, code samples or adivice is much appreciated! I've made a few attempts at this, but I'm likely not making much sense.... I'm working on how to phrase the question. I haven't really given this much thought, I'm just curious, I have a lot to do and I would like to start amassing information ahead of time
