PHP - Tinymce Textarea Content Not Updating
Hi guys,
I searched the web for solutions, but no luck for my case so far. I have a custom CMS that uses tinymce and input text boxes in a form. The tinymce textarea as well as the input text boxes pull the current data from the database, and allows the user to change it, from where the changes are passed on to be updated in the database. All input text boxes work 100%, except for the tinymce textarea. It keeps on passing the original data that was pulled from the database, and not the changed data. The form (simplified): Code: [Select] <form enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post" action="page_update.php"> Button Name: <input type="text" name="btn_name" style="width:150px" value="<?php echo $current_link;?>"><br> Content: <textarea id="elm1" name="elm1" rows="15" cols="80" style="width: 80%"> <?php echo $current_content; ?> </textarea> <input type="hidden" name="pid" value="<?php echo $page_id; ?>"> <input type="submit" name="save" value="Submit" /> <input type="reset" name="reset" value="Reset" /> </form> The php code (simplified): Code: [Select] $upd_name = $_POST["btn_name"]; $upd_content = $_POST["elm1"]; $upd_pid = $_POST["pid"]; echo "Content = ".$upd_content; mysql_query("UPDATE pages SET Content='$upd_content', Link='$upd_name' WHERE ID=".$upd_pid); With the "echo" line I can see that the changed data wasn't passed, but the original data from the database. All my input text boxes works just fine. I have checked my code that the data isn't pulled from the database again somewhere between the form and the update code, and that is ruled out. For what it is worth, I have previously done something similar, except for that the form (with tinymce textarea) displayed in a javascript popup window, and the changed data was sent correctly. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Similar TutorialsI am trying to create a program to get input from user in textarea and save that input into a text file.
But this code is only creating an empty file.
<?php echo <<<_END <form action="form.php" method="post"> <textarea name="textdata" cols="50" rows="20"></textarea> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="CLICK ME"> <input type="hidden" name="submit_check" value="1"> </form> _END; function write(){ $fname="test.txt"; $fh=fopen($fname,'w'); $data=$_POST['textdata']; fwrite($fname,$data); fclose($fh); } if(isset($_POST['submit_check'])){ write(); } ?>please help me. sorry for bad english Edited by mac_gyver, 24 August 2014 - 12:11 PM. code tags please How can I take a text input, find any 'word' thats more then say 50 characters long, then add a space or preferably html #8203 to cause a line break after the 50th character? Ex: wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww www ww wwwwww Find any word that has >=50 characters add line break result: wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww www ww wwwwww I know this has something to do with preg_match or regex but I'm awful with learning their functionality so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (tinyMCE has a glitch which causes entered text to exceed it's iframe dimensions, posting a text string that can mess up where ever it's posted to, so I need a line break to fix it. The tinyMCE help suggests css but gives no coding information or specific help.) I want to submit button to take the data entered in that textarea1 on page 1, and upload to textarea2 on page 2 How can I do this? I have no idea where to start. Hi, I will start off trying to explain what I am trying to make the best I can. What I want to create is a script that gets the gold value from this website: http://www.lbma.org.uk/pages/index.cfm?page_id=46&title=current_statistics and then save it to a variable which I will use to calculate values of different gold karats. Here is the content in bold I need on the website I linked: Quote LONDON GOLD FIXING USD GBP EUR AM 1588.00 1005.127 1251.083 PM 1589.50 1004.741 1249.803 So what help do I need? Well, I don't expect you to figure out the calculating part for me but some help how to get that content pointed out above and save it to a variable is what I would appreciate getting some help with. I don't know much PHP, only some and I have been trying to figure this out for a day now without any success. I suppose php get contents and/or curl should be used here but I don't know how really. I would very much appreciate the help I can get on this. Thank you! hey guys i need to refresh on blur to get to post the upc code inserted in the textarea for product search..
i got the but i can't find the way to post the item
<script> function reload() { window.location.assign("http://store.radioauto.ca/POS/auto.php?Item=upc code here") } </script> <input type="text" id="upc" name="upc" onblur="reload()" value="<?=$_GET['item']?>"/> So, I am making a CMS for my school and I am having some trouble. It's a magazine sort of CMS and what I want is that when you click on a certain thing it continues onto the next page. Through the CMS you can create pages - when you do this each page gets a unique PID. To access the pages you have to enter the PID on the end of the URL, e.g. : http://www.myschool.com/magazine/index.php?pid=x. What I need is a code that when an image gets clicked the PID number in the URL goes up by one. Thanks $sqld = "SELECT * FROM orders WHERE `id`='$delete' AND `name`='$inf2[name]' AND `email`='$inf2[email]' LIMIT 1"; $csql = $db->query($sqld); $ccheck = $csql->fetch(PDO::FETCH_NUM); $cinf = $csql->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); $quantity = $cinf[quantity]; $code = $cinf[code]; $stmt11 = $db->prepare('UPDATE feeds SET quantity=quantity-:quantity WHERE code=:code'); $stmt11->bindValue(':quantity', $quantity, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt11->bindValue(':code', $code, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt11->execute(); $id = $delete; $name = $inf2[name]; $stmt2 = $db->prepare("DELETE FROM orders WHERE id=:id AND name=:name"); $stmt2->bindValue(':id', $id, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt2->bindValue(':name', $name, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt2->execute();OK, i have just been told i should start using PDO instead of mysql to update my tables. This code works to delete the order but doesn't update the feeds section. All this is new to me so far and i think i am getting the hang of it. Should i still be using the quantity=quantity-:quantity or is there another way to do it with PDO? Sorry, i posted this in the wrong forum. Hope someone here can help until it's moved Edited by Self_Taught_Still_Learning, 30 May 2014 - 03:30 PM. Hi, I'm using php to access the mysql database using mysqli and I have a field on my table called "timestamp" and it's set as a timestamp and has current_time (I think in phpmyadmin it was a tick option so I clicked it) and when I update that row in my table the field "timestamp" doesn't update with the timestamp from when it was last updated/modified. I thought the field option timestamp automatically did that? I'm guessing not.. is there a way I can update the timestamp with the current time in my query? I'm back, I have a code that based on my understanding should work, but needless to say doesn't <?php $sql ="select * from `piprice`"; $result = mysql_query($sql); $count = mysql_num_rows($result); echo "<table border=1><tr><td>Product Name</td><td>Item ID</td><td>Price</td><td>Enabled</td>"; echo "<form action=main.php?id=test1.php method=post>"; while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo "<tr><td>".$row['product name']."</td>"; echo "<td>".$id[] = $row['item id'];$row['item id']."</td>"; echo "<td>".$row['price']."</td>"; $enabled[] = $row['enabled']; echo"<td><select name=".$enabled.">< <option Value=".$row['enabled'].">".$row['enabled']."</option> <option Value=Yes>Yes</option> <option Value=No>No</option> /select></td</tr>"; } echo "<input name=submit type=submit value=Update>"; echo "</form></table>"; if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { for($i=0;$i<$count;$i++){ $sql1="UPDATE `piprice` SET `enabled` = '$enabled[$i]' WHERE `item id` ='$id[$i]'"; $result1=mysql_query($sql1) or die (mysql_error()); } } ?> Basically I want to be able to pick yes/no and have it update in the database. One a side note is there a good site for me to learn php on (I just know the basics) besides asking 101 questions here $query1 = "select * from movies where title = '".$title."' ;"; $result1 = mysql_query($query1) or die('Could Not Execute The Query'); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result1) ) { for($f=0; $f<$parts[$current_k]; $f++ ) { touch("$base_folder/{$hos}/".$linking[$sum].".php"); $old_part_href = $row['href_parts']; $updated_part = $old_part_href.$new; $query_href = 'update movies set href_parts = \''.$updated_part.'\''; mysql_query($query_href) or die('COULD NOT EXECUTE THE QUERY FOR PARTS HREF'); $new = "{$base_folder}/{$hos}/".$linking[$sum].".php"; $sum++; } } what i am trying to do is take the value of href_parts and add the new href of the page to the existing value on the href_parts and update the href_parts field in my db.. but i am not getting the desired results.. all i am getting in the db is the last value that is passed in the loop in the db.. i want to save the values which are exisiting in the db and add the newly created values to itt.. can anyone help please.. Please help refresh my memory... It seems to me that there is some combination with nl2br that is a no-no... I am thinking I need to remove nl2br in this code... <textarea id="comments" name="comments" cols="50" rows="15"><?php if (isset($comments)){echo nl2br(htmlentities($comments, ENT_QUOTES));} ?></textarea> Debbie I have a textarea displaying data from a mysql table. However, a user discovered today that if they use a carriage return in the textarea, the data comes out with "rn" at the location in the text where the carriage return goes. I have been searching the forums for a while this afternoon and have found quite a few references to this, but have been unable to fix my problem. I am using mysql_real_escape_string before inserting into database (I am not using anything else at insertion time). Is there something else that I should be using at either the insertion into the database or when I display the data? I have tried various combinations of htmlspecialchars() and htmlentities() and nl2br() with no luck. Here is a sample of the output in my textarea: Quote copy diagonal lines and a square with no more than 1/4" overlap or gap at point of closure(modified).rn2.Patient will draw a person ........ Should look like: Quote copy diagonal lines and a square with no more than 1/4" overlap or gap at point of closure(modified). 2.Patient will draw a person ........ Thanks for the help. Matt I'm trying to add a textarea box at the bottom of this form so I can type in note or comments. The issue I'm running into is, the textarea box does not cover the full width of the form...can someone take a look at this code & help me out?
