I Need an update data code from a form.

First of all I need a list which shows all the rows from my database. then when user select the row which he/she want to edit, he/she can be able to fill the form and when enters the update button that row should be updated.

Can anyone help me how to do such thing.

Hello everyone,
I am a hobbyist with programming. I have been playing with Php, sql, html for several years. I am building a program to organize my club. I am starting out fairly simple and hope in a year for it to be powerful. If anyone can point in the right direction to find out how I can do several things I can get my first version done this week maybe. Here are the things I am trying to accomplish.

1.) a page that I can view records with a First record, previous Record, next Record, last record buttons. The page will pull the information from a table or tables out of my mysql database. I would like to have an update button so I can update records as I go through them and to be able to search buy typing in first name or last name. I know there are functions that will help me and I have been trying to figure out what classes on php.net

2.) Last question for now. All my pages that deal with mysql I have included all the connection information. I was thinking about making a class and add using a class on the pages to open the connection. Not sure if this would be easy, or the best way.

Thanks in advance. I am new and I am not looking for the exact code just place to start. I really want to learn php and sql to be able to build my own applications and fix them.

Hi, I have some code which displays my blog post in a foreach loop, and I want to add some social sharing code(FB like button, share on Twitter etc.), but the problem is the way I have my code now, creates 3 instances of the sharing buttons, but if you like one post, all three are liked and any thing you do affects all of the blog post. Hi, I need to insert some code into my current form code which will check to see if a username exist and if so will display an echo message. If it does not exist will post the form (assuming everything else is filled in correctly). hey gurus, i am a newbie php coder.. i am learning by example.

what i am trying to do is write a piece of code which will alter 3 tables (user, bonus_credit, bonus_credit_usage)

the table structure that will be used is as follows:

so lets say, in bonus_credit i have the following
bonusCode = 'facebook' (this is the code they have to type to redeem the bonus
qty = '10' ( number of times the bonusCode can be redeemed, but same person can't redeem it more than once)
value = '5' (this is the amount of bonus_credit for each qty)

Now, I need to write a code that check to see if the code has been redeemed in the bonus_credit_usage table and if the user.ID exists in this table as bonus_code_usage.usedBy, then give an error that its already been used and if it hasn't been used, then subtract 1 from qty, add ID to usedBy and then add the value to the bonus_credit

This code allallows me to make calculations and display a student's course and linked with it the course the modules in the course and linked with modules are all the sessions. It is able to display what marks each student have got for each module and session.

Now look at code below, it is able to display modules and in those modules the sessions that link to those modules:

Still however Legacy Code evokes a vision in me that it is code that is ugly, old, runs on mainframes, and is probably 3000 lines long, uses globals and questionable code practices. But say we take this ugly nasty code, and put it very nicely under test, but without doing any refactoring, other than that necessary to be able to put it under test in the first place. Hi, this is my first time posting here.

I am just delving into PHP and I am learning about foreach loops.

I have written code in Notepad++ EXACTLY the way I saw it in a tutorial video I watched (I wish I could show the tutorial video to you, but it is on Lynda.com and you have to pay to watch) I attached the file with my code. The example 1 code works just fine. The example 2 code is the one that is not working for some reason. I'm stumped on this one.

I have a page of code to run credit card transactions. It originally echoed out on the same page. But someone was refreshing the page and recharging and/or resending info to the database. So I now have it redirecting to a new page via header. Clears out the data, does exactly what I want.

Then I ran into the problem of failed transactions. That lands them on this page. And it prints out the error on the processing page and nothing else. eek! Is it possible to set a redirect to an error page within the die()? I could put content within this area, but it would create the error in the 'successful' header redirect. Is there a way to do a header redirect within this code for a failed transaction and not lose the data in case they want to hit the back button and make a correction?

UPDATE: I can add a header redirect to the die() but how to get the errorstack to that page? grr.

Is there a better way to code this so I dont have to have the mysql query inside the while loop, what it does is generate a link menu of catalogs from various collections, the collection name is stored in the collections table and the collectionID the catalog is related to is stored in the catalog table with each catalog, to get the collection name I am running a query on the collections table for each catalog inside a while loop which generates the option menu but ideally I would prefer not to have so many database queries happening to generate the page
